Guesthouse vacation rentals in Sigiriya

Best place ever where we stayed in Sri Lanka. A wonderfull family with a lot of attention. The samitha's parents was lovely. The place is perfect if you want to do the east coast, Damboula and Sygiria. We supposed to stay 2 nights but we add one cause we didn't want to leave that place. The food is just perfect too. A good memory's for us and happy to share some french food whith her. So definetlly the place to be during your trip

The name is accurate - situated in a peaceful locality & hosted by excellent chef Anura. There are 2 rooms, one of the ground floor & one on 1st floor. The one on top is more spacious and has a nice backyard view with trees. We found both the rooms & well as linen clean & tidy. The breakfast is inclusive and can be served between 6:30am to 9am as per your convenience. We had dinner all the 3 nights of our stay and really enjoyed the absolutely delicious Sri Lankan meals (dessert included) very much. Chef Anura made sure we had variety in the food each day. He was kind to provide us with drinking water and additional tea/coffee pot through the day when requested. He also arranged transport and safari rides for us and helped us get a good deal. Would totally recommend his place for the clean rooms, great food and warm hospitality provided by chef & his wife

Had a really pleasant stay, surroundings are beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. The hosts were helpful in arranging transport and other recommendations.

5 min drive to the Lion's rock. We loved our stay at Sisira's place. His family were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Easy and flexible check in. The food were very tasty.

Samantha and Kauchi were the perfect hosts. On arrival were were given welcome drinks and Kauchi informed us of the local attractions, including the Hurulu eco park (where we visited and saw loads of wild elephants extremely close up and virtually deserted apart from 2 jeeps), Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and pidurangala. The room was lush, the pool cooling in the heat, and the bird life amazing! We ate traditional breakfast in the train hut whilst the train drop off people (it's a delight to watch). We also had some of the best home cooked food we tried in Sri Lanka, fresh as it can be. We felt so well looked after, cared for, and relaxed in this chilled out environment. It's virtually a deluxe homestay, but more! Their ethos of living of their land with minimal waste was inspirational. I will remember the great chats had with Kauchi who's English is excellent. Out of the 8 places we stayed in Sri Lanka over 18 days this place is equal first 🥇 place. Thank you so much everything team 🙏 x

We had a great stay at this place. The host was friendly, kind and helpful. He made us the best breakfast, gave us good tips what to do and drove us with his tuk tuk to different places. Don‘t miss the sunrise hike to pidurangala rock.

Vi havde to fantastisk nætter hos Green Wood. Fra første sekund tog de søde værter imod os med smil og latter, de fik os til at føle os hjemme og velkomne fra starten. Værelset var rummeligt og rent, derudover var der en dejlig terrasse hvor man kunne nyde en kop the eller andet i de rolige og smukke omgivelser. Green Wood er placeret blandt træer og uden støj fra vej, men samtidig i gå afstand fra alt der er relevant i området, så beliggenheden kunne ikke være bedre. Sidst men ikke mindst lavede vores vært det mest fantastisk hjemmelavede Sri Lankanske mad til os, både morgenmad og aftensmad var fantastisk. Tak for et dejligt ophold og for at smitte os med jeres grin, smil og positive energi.

The best airbnb ever. The woman who helped us gave us tea every day which was very cute and sweet. She helped us with everything and she’s an angel. The garden was amazing and the room was very big and clean. Definitely recommend!!! ❤️

Empfehlung! Ein wunderschönes, kleines und noch sehr neues Resort. Alles ist mit viel Liebe gestaltet. Einfach ein traumhaft ruhiger Ort mitten im Nirgendwo. Das Team ist sehr jung und unglaublich freundlich und engagiert. Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit und wollen das aller Beste Erlebnis für die Gäste. Wir können das Resort von Herzen weiterempfehlen! Das Essen war zudem sehr lecker. Wir hatten einen Tag unser Frühstück auf der Aussichtsplattform mit Blick auf den Lion und Pidurangala Rock. Atemberaubender Ausblick! Der Pool ist im übrigen auch ein Traum!

Nice and warm welcome. Very attentive staff and great location for a few days of sightseeing in sigirya! Restaurant offers delicious food for breakfast/lunch and dinner. Highly recommend

We had two nights in this beautiful place. The hosts are very friendly and flexible. You can also Rent a scooter for daytrips which is great. I recommend trying the awesome breakfast and Dinner. A very nice family and hosts.

Samanasiri speaks OK English but his uni student son Jayaru … who place named after .. speaks excellent English Very enthusiastic hosts went above & beyond with picking me up & drop off 4km away at bus station so that I got a seat thru to Aruradhapura Rooms are basic but so is the price Closest Airbnb to ruins only 1km away big plus Breakfast by negotiation Friendly hosts … great stay All best in the future

Sumanasiri is an excellent host. He's very welcoming, friendly and helpful. He arranged a guide for a bicycle tour of the ancient city, cooked our breakfast and dinner and drove us to Kandy at the end of our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and well located; walking distance to the lake and a short cycle ride to the ancient city.

Was a great place to stay!! We were only in Polonnaruwa for 1 night - convenient location near the lake and clock tower, and wonderful hospitality. Loved playing guitar with his family and learning more about Sri Lanka. Brekky was yum and he helped us get to the train station for our next leg of the journey! Would highly recommend!

Wow, what a stunning property - it is beautiful and extremely peaceful. It is a bit outside the main town, which makes it a perfect place to stay if you want to be immersed in nature and more secluded from the crowds. It is located on one of the lakes that is part of the bird sanctuary, which makes for great bird watching over breakfast. There is a beautiful view of the lake and some of the stupas from the top deck (go up to see the stupas lit up at night). Our room was lovely, spacious and very clean. We had breakfast and dinner, and all the food was fantastic - perhaps the best food we had on our trip (and I’m Sri Lankan so I have a high standard). Everyone working at the property is incredibly kind and wants to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. It was very cool to hear about the owner’s family and the way their heritage influenced the beautiful design of the property. This is such a unique stay - you really feel like you are guests in a friend’s house.

Excellent accommodation close to Sigiriya. Clean, comfortable, and beautiful surroundings. Hosts were really welcoming and provided an excellent breakfast.

We had a great time at Sumanasiris house with our two kids. Everything was perfectly clean and thoughtfully set up (bottled water, mosquito nets…). Sumanasiri was a great host. He rented us bikes and had lots of tips for activities and offered to drive us. He was also super flexible with providing meals. On one occasion we accidentally caused a mess. Even though it was completely our fault Sumanasiri offered us a different room without hesitation.

Bardzo polecamy pobyt u Salindy i jego rodziny, są oni bardzo przyjaźni i pomocni, zaoferowali nam bardzo dobre śniadanie i kolację, udostępnili sprzęt do wyprania ubrań po safari, które swoją drogą organizują w dobrej cenie, wiec polecam skorzystać z usługi. Pokoje były czyste, klimatyzacja działała bez zarzutów.

It was our first hotel in Sri Lanka and couldn’t be better! Milan helped us with an early check-in with no hesitation. The room is simple but have everything you need for that price. The location is quiet and calm and have a direct access to the lake pathway. Milan also arranged for us two tours with tuktuk to Mihintale and the Sacred City of Anuradhapura, and even one to the bus station when we had to leave. We highly recommend this place!
