Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Shinjuku

We enjoyed our stay at Yoko's place. Close to both subway and train stations. Very safe neighborhood even as we walked home at 11pm thru the back alley. We had little issue with locating the address but it is due to us not being familiar with Japan. Yoko responded right away when I messaged her and it was a smooth sailing after that. We would definitely rent her place in the future.

Wouw it couldn't be any better!! masa is such a nice guy and very welcoming! upon arriving we felt welcome, he explained everything and went his way. he had answers for every question we had and helped us to the best of his ability. upon arriving we gave him some Dutch gifts ( fridge magnet of a wooden shoe with tulips and a pack of stroopwafels) this shook him but he accepted it with a smile from ear to ear! the accommodation was clean and well taken care of, plenty of room for 2 people and really close to Ebara-machi station, which we used the most to get around. friendly people around Ota and the 7-11 around the corner is also very helpful! next time we are planning to stay longer! Domo arigato gozaimasu masa-san!

Our family loved the location, privacy, and especially the Floor 5 Spa and Sauna. Proximity to shops, French bakery, and markets, were fantastic. We highly recommend this rental to others.

Yasu was the most thoughtful host! He kindly came to pick us up from the station and was so helpful with recommendations and information. There are adult bikes available to use. When we asked Yasu, where we could rent a bike for our 6 year old, he bought one for him! Our son was over the moon and loved cycling around. We explored many parks, and we didn’t cover all of them. I can highly recommend the Traffic Park, for kids. They have bikes and go-carts for the kids(for free). The house is really lovely, spacious and comfortable. Our son, had the room downstairs. He loved the mini foosball table, and having a huge room all to himself. There were welcome snacks and the fridge was packed with food and fruit! The location was also terrific for getting around. We loved it here, and would definitely come back again!

I honestly don’t know where to begin. Staying in Keiko’s home was truly one of the greatest honors of our time in Japan—it was a highlight of the entire trip. From the moment we walked through her door, we were immersed in Japanese culture. Keiko greeted us with warmth and kindness, making us feel immediately at home. She patiently guided us through everything, showing us how to use her space with care and respect. Her home is a reflection of her spirit—graceful, serene, and full of beauty. I was deeply moved and inspired by her presence and generosity. Being invited to take part in her traditional Japanese tea ceremony was an experience I will never forget. She took the time to teach us the rituals and meaning behind each step, explaining everything with such clarity and heart. She dressed us in beautiful kimonos, carefully helping us put them on the correct way. Drinking matcha that was pure and fresh—words fail me. It was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. 일단 숙소가 너무 예뻤고.. 다다미 있는 숙소를 눈에 불을 켜고 찾아다녔는데 이 집이 일본 감성 대박이었어요. 시내에서 좀 떨어지긴 했지만 그래서 그런지 외국인들이 거의 없어서 오히려 새롭고 좋았어요~! 집주인분도 엄청 친절하십니다!

This was a great location and Shizuka made it even better with her amazing communication and listening skills or local restraint recommendations the apartment was clean and tidy, with the bed and linens being especially comfortable. I look forward to using this and other properties from Shizuka in the future!

What a great place to stay in to really feel the vibe of Koenji! Just minutes of the train station, it was easy to hop around and explore. The vintage clothing and shopping at the Pal Shopping street was also just steps from the front door. We gave the location a 3 star because there was a bar located just at the bottom of the stairs leading to the apartment that was open all hours (and there were patrons there at all hours enjoying themselves!!) Otherwise, it was a very good stay for us!

Such a great find! The flat is stunning and looks exactly as described, spacious and very nicely designed and decorated. The area is also very vibrant, loads of restaurant and the host kindly provide a long list of places to go

The place was so perfect. Easy walk to the train station and many 24 hour convince stores near by. There are a lot of lil stairs so don’t have a lot of baggage. The place is so an accommodating with literally everything and more that you could need for a stay including water, beer, and snacks on arrival. Easy and very quick to communicate. Really a wonderful stay.

Great place and the best interaction with the host! Extremely communicative and flexible. Had an amazing experience. It was a good space for a family of 5! The laundry and dryer along with the tide pods was a life saver and easy to use.

The place was neat, super clean and felt brand new. It’s definitely ideal for a solo traveler, but it has everything you need. The price was reasonable for the location, with subway stations, a large grocery store and several convenience stores nearby. I would love to stay here again! Just a heads-up: the building doesn’t have an elevator, and the stairs are on the narrow side. If you have large luggage, you might want to make sure your room is on the first or second floor. (That said, it’s a quiet and safe neighborhood, so I wouldn’t worry about security or noise at all.) Also, the washing machine is cleverly “hidden” under the counter in the bathroom—just in case you have trouble finding it like I did at first :)

Clean, quiet, and very well appointed home. It was obvious the host took great care to try and think of every detail to make this a comfortable stay. He was exceptionally responsive and also helped me with some of my trip plans when I asked. It was greatly appreciated! It is not close to the center of the city, which wasn’t always convenient but I would not have wanted to stay in the heart of bustling Shibuya, so it really comes down to preference.

Schönes, kleines & sauberes Zimmer mit allem, was man braucht. Die Kommunikation mit Taku war schnell und sehr freundlich. Wir würden wiederkommen.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les détails et l'aide fournie pour arriver facilement depuis Narita, EleVen répond très vite et anticipe les questions ! Le quartier de Kabuki est bien sûr très animé, c'est ce que nous recherchions, mais l'appartement est bien isolé, ça n'est pas bruyant. Le balcon est très agréable pour profiter de la vue et étendre la lessive. Un lave linge est disponible et silencieux. L'appartement est pratique et confortable, avec une décoration moderne et de belles finitions. Il n'est pas possible de cuisiner mais il ya des konbini partout autour pour le petit déjeuner. Le Wi-Fi est bien pratique. Merci beaucoup pour ce séjour !

Hatago Ojima’s space was great! Very clean and cute. The WiFi was a bit spotty when I first arrived, but it was addressed fairly quickly. It is about a 5-7 minute walk from the subway station so it is very easy to get around. I would definitely stay again.

Beihoa's place was fantastic. The location is close to the Yamanote line, but not so close that it is noisy or crowded. There are lots of places to eat, grocery stores and 7-11s(3) in the neighborhood. We also found a Don Quiote near by...which we went to at 2 am thanks to jet lag. Beihao was very quick to respond and offered suggestions if we needed help. The Yamanote line is very easy to navigate and I strongly suggest a Pasmo or Suica card. The condo is located very close to Shinjuku and Shibuya...super fun places to visit. The condo is clean, full of light and big by Japanese standards. I would definitely return here!! Thank you Beihoa for helping to make our visit amazing!!! My son and I fell in love with Japan!❤️

I love this place. It’s in a quieter neighbourhood and the room is sizeable especially for the standards in Japan. Only thing is if you don’t like the noise coming from upstairs as the walls are a bit too thin, choose the top floor. But it’s only accessible by stairs. Train station is closed by, convenient.

Highly recommended to stay in this location for your trip to Japan. Located about 10 minutes from the train station. The house itself is extremely clean and has everything you need - the dryer in the bathroom was a lifesaver! There are also a lot of nearby convenience stores, drugstores, groceries, and even a Don Quijote. The area is residential so the place is intimate and quiet. Also, the hosts are extremely easy to reach out to. They are accommodating and friendly as well.
