Apartment vacation rentals in Shimogyo Ward

Walkable from kyoto station. Well worth the price for two person. Room is not spacious but adequate for two luggages spread open. Bed is big enough for two people. Room comes with a table and two chairs. Good toilet with shampoo, conditioner and soap, and has excellent water pressure. Toilet only issue is the space from the seat to the door. Towels and face towels were provided. Has a basic kitchen and fridge provided, fridge was so cold that my coke has iced form in it. Aircon is not good, 23 degrees but does not feel cold at all.

The place was exact as described. It was quite spacious and we felt right at home. Considering we had a small baby, we didn’t have any issue during the stay. The check-in and checkout process was straightforward. The neighbourhood was quiet and had good commute options. Highly recommend this place.

The place very convenient for tourists. Everything is there . Accessible to tourist spots ( walking ,train stations, buses). Will surely get back to this place .

I really liked the place. It’s relatively close to everything and the host provided my stay with everything I needed. I plan to book this same place when I go back to Kyoto.

A great spot for larger travel groups, a rare two-bedroom find in Kyoto! The location is very peaceful but still a great transport hub, with subway station and bus stops nearby, and Kyoto central station within a walking distance. Very roomy and the fully furnished kitchen was a nice touch. Many thanks to the host for the lovely time we had in Kyoto!

We booked Gion House to get an authentic accommodation experience in a machiya house. The apartment looked exactly like the photos: it was spotless, spacious and very well maintained. Location was perfect to explore Gion and the hotspots of Kyoto. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. Much appreciated and many thanks for the lovely stay.

We had overall great experience at Matatabi's place. The location is great --about 2 minute walks to the subway station, and it's surrended by convenient store, various restaurants. On top of that it's walking distance to the imperial garden of Kyoto! The room is clean, decent and quiet. It's the place where I would like to live if I ever go to Kyoto again.

This place is small but has everything you need. Great location near the station and a huge mall so supermarket and lots of restaurants nearby. Clean and full stocked. Highly recommended

Great location with an izakaya at just 2 minutes walking, several convenience stores and an easy access to the subway.

Les vélos mis à disposition gratuitement par le propriétaire sont vraiment un plus et permettent de visiter Kyoto très facilement. Mis à part l’étroitesse de la salle de bain dont les toilettes sont à l’intérieur, c’est un très bon point de chute pour Kyoto par rapport au prix de la nuit. Même si le quartier n’est pas très beau, le salon de massage, la pâtisserie et le restaurant paisible du théâtre juste à côté sont très bien. Également laverie à proximité en plus de celle de l’immeuble.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui per tre notti. Non è proprio a Tokyo, ma ci si arriva velocemente con il treno. Posto tranquillo e camera confortevole. Se ci ricapiterà di tornare a Kyoto, ci faremo un pensierino. Grazie per l’ospitalità!

We had a great 3 day stay at Ken’s apartment. The neighborhood is perfect for exploring Kyoto - train and bus stations are just down the block. We walked to a different restaurant (off a list recommended by Ken which made our life easy) every night and had 3 delicious meals. There are shops and stores all around and the Nishiki market is very close too. The space was perfect for us - great bed, a frig and a freezer (with an ice cube tray - wow!) plus a washing machine. The terrace is amazing for breakfast, evening hour relaxing and watching the birds (herons in the river especially). The river path is great for a walk or run. There’s a great gelato place down the block. It’s quiet and comfortable. Ken is an amazing host - friendly and helpful. Book this place - and enjoy the real life style of Kyoto. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Yoshimi’s place. Very responsive to messages and willing to assist when needed. Location is great and it has plenty of nice cafes.

The location of this stay was perfect, within walking distance of many of Kyotos must-see places and great restaurants. The apartment was small (like most Japanese apartments), but incredible value for the price. Taiyo was helpful and responsive.

이번 여행은 아기와 부모님이 함께한 여행이어서 숙소 선정에 많은 고민을 했습니다. 결론적으로, 아기와 부모님이 있는 가족이라면 추천합니다. 1. 숙소 위치 교토 역에서 택시비 한화 10,000원 이하로 이용 가능합니다. 저는 주로 교토 역에서 유모차 끌고 걸어서 다녔습니다. 그리고 청수사까지 택시로 한화 20,000원 이하로 다닐 수 있어서 유모차나 거동이 불편한 분이 계시다면 택시를 추천합니다. 시티버스 정류장도 근처에 있어서 종종 이용했습니다.(주로 택시를 탔기때문에 시티투어 패스를 이용하지 않고 현금을 사용했습니다.) 택시를 이용할 땐 '니시혼간지'에 내려달라고 하면 됩니다. 바로 건너편에 숙소 입구가 있어서 찾기 쉽습니다. 2. 숙소 시설 주방에서 보이는 '니시혼간지' 배경이 너무 좋습니다. 비가 오는 날에도 운치있고 가까워서 매우 여유롭게 이 곳을 구경했습니다. 전자레인지와 전기포트, 컵, 수저 등이 있었고 특히 엘리베이터가 있어서 유모차 이용이 너무 편리했습니다. 따뜻한 물이 잘 나와서 욕조도 잘 썼습니다. 3. 기타 체크인 전에 짐 보관 가능했습니다. 근처에 '소복정'이라는 우동집에서 식사를 포장해서 먹었는데 간이 세지 않아서 가볍게 식사하기 좋았습니다. 숙소 바로 옆에 로숀 편의점도 잘 이용했습니다. 도로 앞에 위치하고 있어서 소음이 약간 있는 편이지만 잠은 편안하게 잘 잤습니다. 대부분 너무 만족스러웠지만 숙소에서 가까운 관광지나 맛집 등 안내가 추가로 있으면 더 좋을 것 같습니다. 다음에도 또 머물고 싶은 곳입니다.

We enjoyed our stay in Kyoto. It was in a great location and we were able to get to everything fairly easily. The space was small, and there is not space for oversized luggage. We carefully laid them on the bathroom floor near the windows and that still gave us enough space to move about. The rest of the flooring is tatami mats so you need to be very carefulnot to roll luggage on it. You also have to walk up a narrow stepped staircase for 3 floors to make it to the room so please keep that in mind. It had beautiful traditional japanese touches that made it stand out. The open air bath was a lovely feature and I especially enjoyed that. It also has a door for privacy. My husband and I did notice that it is not possible to fill the bathtub while the shower was on, so I would suggest filling the bathtub before you shower. Keep these things in mind when you are deciding if it's right for you. Overall, it was lovely and the japanese beds helped our bodies recover from each day of walking.

This is a great place to stay while visiting Kyoto. It’s very close to a popular bus stop and not too far from Kyoto Station. Seizai’s instruction booklet was very clear and gave lots of great information about both the bnb and the neighborhood. The only issue is that the bunk bed ladder does not attach to the bed well, so be careful when climbing up and down. Otherwise everything is great and clean and it’s a nice space. Highly recommend!

K/H did an amazing job as a host and making me feel welcome during my stay in Kyoto. Their clear directions made the stay seamless. Noise around the bnb was not as bad as expected ( rail line by the apartment), and it didn’t impact my sleep at all! Thanks again!

We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

Place was amazing and more spacious than we expected. Had a comfortable 3 nights here. Short walk from Nijo Station which was good, even though we walked most of the time to save money. Walkable distance from the main shopping streets and attractions.
