TABITABI is a 100-square-meter, two-story house built in the Taisho period with a modern style. You can enjoy an accommodation experience unique to Kyoto, where the old and new coexist, in a creative space with a harmonious modern interior, while retaining the remnants of when it was a wooden house, such as the beams with a history of over 100 years running along the high ceilings and beautifully decorated fittings. There is a private garden and open-air bath on the first floor. There is also a state-of-the-art unit bathroom on the second floor. We have two Simmons mattresses, the best in the United States. The Japanese-style room is decorated with a "vortex" design jointly created by a Kyoto washi maker with over 100 years of history and Japan's leading furniture craftsman, resulting in a shoji screen with a unique blend of light and design. The Japanese-style room cushions are "stylish and comfortable to sit on for a long time."We have placed the "Ojami Zabuton" cushion developed by Takahata-ya in the theme of "Fashionable and long-lasting comfort on the floor". Founded 100 years ago, Konaka Takahoka still does everything by hand. You can experience the comfort born from ingenuity that cannot be handled by machines, such as forming kamaboko molds and cutting corners by traditional handmade techniques.

Yanagi-an is located in Kameoka City, the back of Kyoto. It's a little bit far from the center of Kyoto, but it's 10 minutes to Saga-Arashiyama and 17 minutes to Nijo Station by JR from nearby Umahori Station, so I don't think it's that inconvenient compared to the city. There is also plenty of parking, making it ideal for gatherings with relatives. Nearby there is a trolley train, Hozugawa descent, and a rafting departure point for everyone to enjoy. There is a shopping mall, TSUTAYA, and restaurants within 100 meters of the inn, which is very convenient. Yanagian's nearest station, Umahori Station, is 25 minutes from Kyoto Station. 10 minutes to Arashiyama Station, 17 minutes to Nijo Station. It's also convenient if you book the Romantic train. There are a supermarket, pharmacy, DIY store and restaurants close by.

It’s also conveniently located near a train station and next to a lovely park with a shrine. A truly special stay—highly recommended!

Absolutely everything you could want is provided, which was so appreciated because we were traveling light. The home itself is filled with wonderful unique art and was just a pleasure to be in. It is a very convenient location for tourists visiting Uji for many days and for fans of Kyoto who want to visit the sacred sites!The location is right next to Uji Bridge, and across the river is Uji Shrine and Mt. Daikiji, it's close to everywhere!Other than that, although it is a homestay and a shared bathroom, it is fully equipped and very clean, and convenient to use!In addition, the Host was also very friendly at check-in, but I don't speak Japanese and my English is not good, but I understood by body language.Overall, a good experience!
