Lake house vacation rentals in Shenandoah Valley

It was a very peaceful property. The kids enjoyed their area downstairs where they could stay up later. There was plenty of storage for food as we stayed at the house for each meal. The lake was as advertised, fun with the use of the kayaks, and we got to fish a lot. There were lots of linens, and it was great to be able to use the washer and dryer so when we got home we didnt have a pile of laundry to do. The main negative is that we werent able to use the hot tub after the second day, as it needed chlorine so it wouldnt smell bad. But it was a great house size for our 2 families of 6 and 5. Everyone had their own space if they wanted it, and it was just a good family vacation. We would come back and stay again. Thanks!

This house is a gem! It’s our second time staying here and my family loves it! We have two adult daughters, a son-in-law and two granddaughters, we love the pool, pool house with pool table and the screened in porch! All of us have our own levels of bedrooms and bathrooms. The place is clean, has the little touches of home and Lois is a dream to work with. It’s on the pricier side but you get what you pay for! We hope to return next summer! I hate writing such a good review because it will only be harder to book in the future!

We loved staying at Leora's place. Would definately stay again! Me and my family were very comortable and loved the surroundings! My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful time on the canoes that were provided at the lake close by and really loved the scenery. When we were settled in after many outings, it was so nice to relax on the deck and screened in porch and also enjoy the board games that were provided. The place was very spacious and had everything that you would need. Wish we could of stayed longer!

This a a wonderful house for big groups. Very comfortable and lots to do. Many water toys for the lake and a variety of games in the house basement. Hot tub, pedal boat, standup paddle, floaters, fire pit, pool table, karaoke machine, video games, one cannot get bored. The house is extremely well equipped with clear instructions all over on how to use all gadgets and amenities. The EV chargers are a great plus. We had a wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway. The house had ample space for our group of 8. The kitchen was well-appointed with all the necessities to cook a good meal. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and hanging out on the big couch in the living room. If it wasn't so cold we would have loved spending time on the large back deck or sitting down by the lake.

We have stayed at a few places in Lake Anna and this one was perfect for our group of 8. The house is beautiful with a great set up for engaging family time and a well stocked kitchen. The backyard worked well with our Halo collar for our dog and the dog and boating options were perfect for our crew aged 8-68. The neighbors are friendly and there's plenty of shade and sun options to meet everyone's needs. We already booked our trip to come back next year!

We had a peaceful 2 nights at Carrie’s place with a beautiful view of the lake. The house had so many thoughtful extras for the guests and everything was organized. We even used the Star Wars pancake maker to make Father’s Day breakfast. We rented the kayaks and went on the lake more than once. This is a unique find.

My family and I were very pleased with Eric and his lake house. It was perfect, clean, and very inviting. The home and location matched the pictures; in fact, it was better in person. Everything we wanted to do was there, we only went to the market. Eric was very attentive and when I had a question or a concern- he was quick to follow up and he was a great communicator. He responses were prompt and friendly. This meant everything to me. He did not act like a stranger; he welcomed us into his beautiful home. If I had my way, I'd still be there but work calls. I would highly recommend Eric and his lake house. I'm already talking to my husband about making plans to go back next year around the same time. If you're looking for a home beside the water with kayaks, grills, fire pit, and life jackets and close to beaches and most importantly a host who cares and will be attentive, check out this property and Eric. They both deliver.

We enjoyed our stay in Massanutten. Lots to do and beautiful views with the leaves changing. We enjoyed the dining within the resort and the indoor waterpark. Outside of the resort we explored a winery and brewery as well as local playgrounds. Neighborhood was quiet. Place was dog friendly and comfortable. We would recommend and stay here again if in the area. Paul and Gwen were great hosts and consistently communicated throughout our stay.

The place was exactly what we were looking for - remote, quiet, with beautiful surroundings, and a very-well equipped house, with tons of details and nice touches. Laura was always responsive, and provided clear instructions.

The house was well out into the country with a beautiful view. Very quiet, but I think there must have been a river nearby because trucks carrying canoes went up and down the road a number of times a day. We saw a ton of deer. One word of warning is if you drive to the house towards evening and after, go slowly as deer run out into the road. We wanted for nothing - pretty much everything we needed was at the house. Other owners could take a lesson from Edward. There were a ton of spices for cooking, many cooking utensils, coffee and filters, even bathroom items like shampoo, Q-tips and cotton balls. The house was well equipped.

We had an amazing stay here! The location is perfect—right on the water with a fantastic private dock. The little "snack bar" on the dock was stocked with extra life vests and paddles. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. There was plenty of silverware and utensils for our whole group, which made cooking and dining together a breeze. A big bonus: the shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms—everyone in our group forgot theirs, so that was a total lifesaver. We also loved that the property overlooks the state park. It gave us beautiful, peaceful nature views and added a sense of privacy that made the whole trip feel like a true escape compared to other locations I've been to on this lake. My favorite part was taking the jet ski out every day. The nearby boat ramp is very private and super close, which made launching a breeze.

Great place, would definitely recommend!

This was the perfect long weekend get away we were looking for. The home is in great condition. The trees offer so much shade it was nice sitting on the deck during the day and for meals. Alfred is an excellent host, checking in while we were there. We enjoyed sitting by the water, relaxing in the hammock and walking the dogs around the neighborhood. Highly recommend for a relaxing get away!

Place was very accurate according to photos. Very motorcycle friendly close to skyline drive. Easy access to restaurants. Beds were very comfortable. Place was very clean.

My family had an absolutely wonderful stay! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The views were stunning. Check-in was smooth and the host was responsive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Whether you're looking for peace and quiet or a cozy spot to reconnect with friends and family, this place is perfect. Would definitely stay again and highly reccomend!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful—perfect for a girls' weekend getaway! The fire pit and dock created such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. There were plenty of beds, extra blankets, and towels, which made the stay incredibly comfortable. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like the floaties, pool noodles, and life vests at the dock house. The kitchen was impressively organized with every drawer and cabinet labeled, and it was fully stocked with all the spices we could possibly need—cooking meals was a breeze. Everything about this stay was a 10/10. Highly recommend!

Excellent accommodations. We were 5 adults, 2 toddlers, an infant and two dogs and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kids enjoyed the spacious first floor for their magna-tile and lego projects and the adults were happy at the large dining table. The outdoors were quiet, spacious and plenty of opportunities for the kids to run around. We used this location as a central point for the high peaks hike in MD and WV, an excellent location. Also visited Blackwater Falls and Seneca Rocks - amazing natural wonders. Would definitely rent again if in the area.

The property is brilliantly located, right on the lake. The Dock House was a perfect place to hang out and read, fish, watch T.V. and socialize. We especially liked that the home had sleeping amenities on all three floors, and private bathrooms. The downstairs area provided a perfect space for the kids to play games, and bunk up in bunk bed room. Lastly, the appliances were top of the line, the stove, oven, washer/dryer etc..

This is by far one of the most thoughtful and intentional airbnbs we have ever stayed at, and the location truly can’t be beat! Jon & Carrie did such a beautiful job with all the intentional details that made our stay so peaceful and relaxing. From an online welcome guide with all the ins and outs of the house& recommendations in the area, to a scannable QR code explaining how to work the gorgeous shower, everything felt so well thought out. The kitchen was so well stocked which was wonderful for cooking during our stay! We loved being less than a 2 min walk from the lake and enjoyed using the kayaks. :) The house also seems pretty accessible for folks with a physical disability, as there is a ramp leading up to the porch as well as a wide & beautiful shower with a built in, roomy bench. The screened in porch was also so summery, especially with the string lights! We loved our stay here and look forward to coming back :) Thank you, Jon & Carrie for such a beautiful respite!

This was our third year staying at Kevin’s Lake Anna home, and once again, it exceeded our expectations. Kevin is a fantastic host - communicative and always quick to address any questions or concerns. Our multi-generational family of ten adults (ranging from 21 to 84) had ample space to relax and connect. Between the two large living areas, the spacious back deck, the cozy fire pit by the water, and the dock with its shaded sitting area and boathouse, there was no shortage of places to unwind. Swimming directly from the dock was a highlight, and renting a boat for the day or week is an excellent way to explore the lake. One of the most memorable moments of our stay was hiring a local chef to prepare a delicious family dinner in the well-equipped and spacious kitchen. The home’s location on the public side of Lake Anna is incredibly peaceful and scenic, making it the perfect getaway. We highly recommend this property and can’t wait to return again next year!

Loved our family time here! House was spacious and had everything we needed from the pack n play and kayaks to an easy boat rental. Alisha was always super responsive and friendly and very easy to book with. We wish we could have stayed longer!

My family loved the house! It's lovely with large rooms! Great kitchen and dining area! We loved the porch and property! So thankful to be able to take our dog too!
