Miller Creek Cottage Near Shawnee/Pets Welcome

So, needless to say the property is in the center of the middle of nowhere, but it is absolutely perfect to get away with some peace and quiet. We loved it and you will too. We would definitely stay again.
A serene creek flows gently over a rocky ledge, creating a small waterfall. The water glistens as it cascades into a calm pool below. Surrounding trees are bare, reflecting the season, while fallen leaves rest on the creek's edge.

Secluded Cabin Outside Golconda-Pets welcome!

MeganRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
FWIW, I was able to get my small car (Chevy Sonic) through most of the road/driveway. I couldn't for the last ~200 yards, which is fine b/c the description in the listing made me prepare to carry my stuff longer than that.
A compact bathroom is presented with green walls and a beige countertop. A glass shower enclosure is visible, alongside a modern toilet. Shelving is featured on the left, stacked with white towels. A mirror above the sink reflects the overall layout.

Secluded “Treehouse Feel” Cabin | Cozy & Private

JaelenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I absolutely LOVED my stay here. The host were extremely helpful we had a bit of a hiccup with my account being hacked and we were able to work right through it together. The area was so beautiful and just 20 minutes away there is a nice little city that is easily accessible full of restaurants, grocery stores and anything else you may need. Not only that but the hiking trails near by are incredible almost reminded me of being home in Colorado. The only thing I wish is that I stayed longer! I will be back for a much longer stay.

An artistic wall display features chevron patterns created with various types of wood. The arrangement includes contrasting colors such as natural wood tones, dark black, and rich brown, creating a visually striking geometric design. The wood grains and finishes highlight the craftsmanship of the piece.

On Golden Pond

Really cute little spot! Perfect for a couple/two people. I would say it’s not big enough to comfortability fit 4 people although there is a pull out couch. The house was super clean and had everything you would ever need. I really appreciated the back area by the pond. It was beautiful and had lots of nice seating to enjoy nature. There were games and a nice TV for entertainment. Plenty of clean towels and blankets to use. We did not have any issues with bugs. I would stay again!

Nesher Cottage

DesiraeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My family of 3 had a wonderful stay at Nesher Cottage! It was a peaceful quiet space, which was exactly what we were looking for. It was a short drive to some beautiful hiking trails. and when we returned, the bathtub felt luxurious, and the beds with so many throw pillows were perfect for lounging. We especially enjoyed catching glimpses of hummingbirds through the window and watching fireflies from the front porch.

Crews Mountain Country Getaway

Kenneth’s cabin was even better in person, and a peaceful retreat to come back to after full days of exploring southern Illinois. Lots of hooks and outlets are some of the thoughtful details. The location down a secluded lane was just what we like. Kenneth and Diane were both responsive and friendly. They even happily accommodated an unexpected request. We highly recommend and would like to visit again.

Original 1926 Log Cabin Overlooking Ohio River

ThomasRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We spent a long weekend at this charming, rustic cabin in Elizabethtown to explore Shawnee National Forest and other scenic areas in southern Illinois. We really enjoyed staying in a 100 year-old cabin that was built to last and had been very cared for over the years. Stephanie was super responsive and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy a peaceful weekend in nature. Lots of beautiful rock formations, water falls, and hiking trails within driving distance. I really felt like I was able to see so much of what southern Illinois has to offer. And in the morning and evening we could relax on the deck and watch the passing barges. We’d definitely go back!
