Flat in Orton

I loved the history of the house! Am from Australia, so don't get that experience at home. was only there for 2 nights, took a trip on Lake Windemere, sat on the steps in front of the fountain at Orton Hall 2nd evening, listened to some classical cello, drank a glass of red (big one), watched the rabbits & really enjoyed my walk around the grounds the next morning. I'd stay again. It was an experience, not just accommodation.

The Studio, a stunning rural retreat for two.

HannahRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Thank you for having us! We had a lovely 3 night stay at the studio, it was welcoming, cosy and relaxing. Lovely welcoming gift of home baked brownies upon arrival, they were delicious and welcomed after a 6 hour car journey. Rebecca was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Great location, approx a 1h journey to the lakes and beautiful surrounding scenery. Would highly recommend this beautiful space!

A wood burning stove is positioned on a slate base, surrounded by a mix of decorative logs and tools for use. A stone wall adds texture to the space, while warm wood flooring complements the rustic ambiance and a view is visible through large windows in the background.

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Harry’s Barn. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed being able to roam around the garden while we topped our tan up without having to worry about them :)

We had a great few days here, lovely cottage. The sound of nature as we sat in the garden was just wonderful. Bampton is a quaint little village perfect for exploring that side of the lakes.

The Meadow Cottage at Scalebeck

CrispinRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Lovely and peaceful setting down narrow country lanes, yet convenient for Appleby and the M6. The Lake District is about a half hour drive away but the Westmoreland Dales are stunning anyway. The friendly village pub serves good food and beer at modest prices. The cottage is very well equipped with a big bedroom and a fabulous shower in the adjacent bathroom. Only slight downside is that, being downstairs, the bedroom gets cold in less clement weather. However, there is central heating and a fan heater can be borrowed if really necessary. Kay went out of her way to ensure everything was fine for us.
