Vacation rentals in Schönau im Schwarzwald

We (mother, adult daughter and dog) had a very nice week in the apartment. Practically divided with everything you need, so that we could also prepare hot food. Bernau is beautifully located in the middle of the southern Black Forest and is a small, still quite original village. No large hotel buildings, but bakers with cafes, restaurants, pharmacy, tourist office and small shop. We didn't hear anything from the street in front of the house, because the apartment is at the back, with a beautiful view from the balcony into the Bernauer Hochtal. We would definitely want to stay here again if we go to the Black Forest again.

Felix and his family have created a true oasis in the middle of the Black Forest. A place of rest that is perfect for slowing down and recharging. Pure idyll, only green in front of the window. In bad weather, the cozy, lovingly furnished apartment invites you to make a fire, read, cook and look out the window. In good weather, everything is open to you in the middle of the Black Forest. In 10 minutes by car to Himmelreich and then 15 minutes by S-Bahn you are in beautiful Freiburg. We enjoyed the 10 days and especially the bad weather days. Thank you dear Felix for sharing this wonderful place with other people.

Tanja is a great host, and we had a great time at her AirBnb place! Everything was exactly as described and Tanja goes above and beyond to ensure that you have a great stay!

We spent two weeks in the cottage and the stay was very successful. The house is situated in the mountains, surrounded by forests – everywhere you can hear birdsong and cricket chirping, a real contact with nature. In the neighboring house you can buy fresh eggs and delicious honey from the beekeeping. In the forest, we found forest strawberries and blueberries. We rented the lower apartment in June – it was clean, well equipped, with always warm water and even heating for cooler days. At night it was very quiet, although of course that also depends on who rents the upper apartment. On the last day, new vacationers arrived, whose footsteps and conversations could be heard until about 1 a.m. and again in the morning – so it is not a completely secluded place😉. But if you are a deep sleeper, we can highly recommend it! The owner is very friendly and helpful. A perfect starting point for hikes, and our dog also had plenty of room. Thank you!

Beautiful spacious accommodation in a beautiful setting especially the private terrace is very pleasant. Highly recommendable.

David is an amazing host, he is very responsive and suggested some nice places to visit in the area. The accommodation is a beautiful and well maintained apartment, it is more beautiful than the picture. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, has a nice view. There is an EV charger at the property. Would definitely recommend this place.

This was truly the most beautiful home and location. We drove from Basel and it was easy to find. Great amenities. The home was absolutely spotless and well equipped. It was just stunning. With the views from full length windows to the stream and being able to walk out in to the forest. There were local goats which were a big hit with the kids. We had a teenage boy and 7 year old girl and both loved it. If you have kids, there is a theme park about 1 hour or so away and a beautiful swimming complex about 20 mins away. But honestly, just staying at the house and hiking was the best. I would stay here again and would highly recommend. The hosts met us to let us in and changed our check-in when our flight times were changed by the airline which helped so much. I can not fault it. Perfection.

A wonderful and clean vacation home and you feel right at home. A beautiful view of Switzerland and the beautifully landscaped gardens all around. The rest there is very relaxing. We will be happy to come back. The surroundings are beautiful, there are many opportunities for excursions. Thank you for everything 🥰
