Family-friendly vacation rentals in Schoharie County

We went for a quick weekend getaway with our two dogs and absolutely loved William and Liz’s home, we didn’t want to leave!! I loved the privacy, how peaceful it was, and of course the views! Our dogs enjoyed all the free space to run as well. We unfortunately had a lot of rain when we stayed, causing our tour of howes cavern to be canceled due to flash flooding. We were rescheduled which affected our check out time, but they were so sweet and offered us to check out whenever we liked and even offered us an extra night to stay! (We wish we could have). It was a wonderful weekend getaway and we all can’t wait to go back! :)

It is a good place to spend time with family. The house was cozy and warm, cleaned and has everything we needed. The views of mountains and sun rise were breathtaking. John was easy to communicate and provided all info about house and interesting places around.

Had an amazing time staying at the property! The views are breathtaking and space is something you have to see for yourself! We had a small wedding of 50 people and amos accommodated us completely! We will never forget our stay! I would give this a 1 million star if I could!!

Spent the perfect cabin weekend with friends. No TV in the main room, so we actually had conversations (imagine that). The 3-season enclosed deck was great for board games, and the yard? Prime for lawn games and s’mores around the fire pit. Hot tub was the ideal post-hike move. Plus, the nearby town is straight out of an Irish postcard. Highly recommend. 🍀🔥🛶

Beautiful sites. Everything you need to camp is available. Suprised at noise level from neighbors or someone cutting trees next to us. Overall good time.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this Airbnb! The place was fantastic, and the instructions and tips provided were incredibly useful. The kindness of the owner truly stood out, making our holiday feel special and memorable. One of the highlights was the cozy evenings we spent playing the board games provided. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the basics, which made cooking meals together a breeze. We also appreciated the pellets for the stove, which kept the house warm and inviting. We were especially touched to find the table set for dinner when we arrived late. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel immediately welcome and at home. Ivan went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, even recommending some great local restaurants and hiking trails. Their thoughtfulness made us feel right at home. We definitely recommend this place and are already planning our next visit. It was the perfect spot for a family getaway, and we can't wait to return!

Katy is an easy host to communciate with and usually responds within an hour. The space is mostly as described. The space is comfortable and well heated(for winter, I cannot review the a/c) and has parking and is a walkable distance from two coffee shops or a zip of a drive. I suggest Stamford Coffee for the space and quality of. Meanwhile, Katy offers a small but fully functional eat-in kitchen with relevant small appliances, coffee maker, and plenty of cooking tools. The bed is spacious and comfortable. The backdoor opens onto a small unfenced side yard that is good for a dog or a chair in nicer weather. TV is large and available but I mostly didn't use. Shower pressue is lacking but hot water is plentiful. The space is mostly quiet and private. WiFi was great. Overall: a great space and a matching host. FYI: I was on an extended stay here(two different reservations) for several months. Surroundings nearby are farms and dairys and NY history and eats. Book it! Michael

This was one of the nicest AirBnb's I've stayed in. The house is beautiful and beautifully decorated. It's situated in a gorgeous part of the Catskills. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Just bring your suitcase and toiletries; Ethan’s place is the most well-stocked home I’ve stayed at in the area. Everything you need is supplied, from dishwashing detergent and dish soap to ample spices and even individual butter and jelly packets in the refrigerator. And you don’t have to bring coffee filters because the coffee machine has a metal coffee filter cone. Even though it’s close to everything, it’s quiet and overlooks a peaceful setting. You’ll feel very comfortable in this home.

What a fabulous place.! Dove’s place was right in downtown Cobleskill— easy to walk around the town, quiet, and very peaceful with a front porch, a side porch and a large backyard. Right behind the house is a free parking lot so if there are a number of people with cars, the parking is great. The house itself was well appointed, clean, comfortable, and perfect for a large group. The beds were great, the showers had good hot flow, and the kitchen had everything you could possibly want if you were cooking all your meals— which we were. I would go back in a flash! We loved our stay at John's house! We were 3 couples who had come in for a friend's wedding. The house and amenities were perfect, the backyard is a dream, and John's hospitality could not have been better. And as a bonus, there were fresh flowers all over the house when we checked in. :)

We had a wonderful stay at this house! It’s very spacious, spotless, and well-equipped with everything you need. The property is large and beautiful, with stunning views and even a pond on-site. Everything is convenient and thoughtfully arranged — from the cozy fireplace to the overall peaceful atmosphere. The place feels both comfortable and private. I’ve already recommended it to my friends and would love to come back again. Truly a perfect getaway in nature!

Eileen’s directions to get in could not have been easier. The place was spacious, quiet , and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook with and that we did! We came as a last minute trip. The deck out back was great. and use of the grill was a plus, the honor store out back was perfect for our cooking needs. Had some pastries from the cafe on Saturday morning and were delicious. It also was so wonderful to see so many in the community meet there on Saturday mornings, such a wonderful meeting space you have created in a world with anxiety filling news the laughter coming up reassured me there are still strong communities filled with people that care for one another.

Beautiful space. Amazing countryside vibes. Fun hike down to the waterfall, great kitchen for cooking and a fun night in. There was lots of quaint stuff to do in nearby Middleburgh: thrifting, diners, 50s milkshake bar, antique book stores, hikes, breweries, and more. We loved that there was so many towels for the sauna and swimming. One note: give yourself a lot of time for the sauna to heat up. Instructions were clear and they gave us lots of local recs. Also LOVED the hammocks -- lots of cozy nooks to hang for a chill girls weekend. We might be back again! A great stay.

This is place is a magical experience. It's perfect for those who want to experience the more remote nature this region offers. Pure and quiet night, picturesque surroundings, amazing sunrise/sunset. The Barn itself is designed creatively and mixes greatly between camping and comfort. Stephen is very helpful and communicative.
