This self contained holiday cottage offers a chance to get closer to the workings of a family dairy farm. It is situated in the North York Moors National Park, midway between the moors and the coast and just a fifteen minute drive (or slightly longer bus ride) from Whitby. The accomodation is unusually spacious for a one bedroomed cottage, it is light, warm and very well insulated but don’t forget there is the potential for noise and smells from the farm!

Absolutely lovely stay. The grounds were beautiful and the cottage was fantastic. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

An open-plan living area features a large, L-shaped gray sofa adorned with mustard-colored cushions. A kitchen can be seen in the background, accompanied by a dining area. Glass doors provide ample natural light and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

We used Forge Cottage recently as a base for a girls trip and it was the perfect spot! It's exactly as it looks on the pictures - modern yet comfortable. We loved using the log burner and the hot tub particularly and the hosts had left us with enough fire starters and logs to get both going. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of lots of equipment and there's also plenty of storage for your own food too. The beds & pillows were all really comfy and it super king in the main bedroom felt particularly luxurious. The whole place was spotlessly clean, with dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and detergent provided. We felt at home right away and would love to come back again!

It was a beautiful, well-presented cabin in peaceful surroundings and the hot tub was amazing, as was the welcome goodies and the birthday card kindly given to us by the owners.
