Cottage vacation rentals in São Miguel Island

Wer die Insel erkunden will und sich wirklich wohlfühlen möchte, der ist bei Tania und Paul im süßen Cottage genau richtig aufgehoben! Es ist total gemütlich und toll ausgestattet. Der Blick geht über die Hügel und Landschaft der Insel raus aufs Meer (auch von hauseigenen Whirlpool) in der Gegend sind Supermärkte, kleine Frühstücksmöglichkeiten und Restaurants. Man ist schnell zur Tee Plantage oder zu den thermal Pools gefahren. Ich kann diesen tollen Ort nur jedem Reisenden ans Herz legen.

Wir waren 10 Tage bei Ruben zu Besuch. Wir hätten uns keine bessere Unterkunft für unseren Aufenthalt vorstellen können. Leider hatten wir etwas Pech mit dem Wetter - umso schöner waren die Annehmlichkeiten von Pool und Sauna zu genießen. Die Wohnung war makellos sauber und alles Top hergerichtet. Ruben hat uns sogar ein Willkommens- Korb mit allen nötigen Dingen ( Käse , Brot , Früchte etc) aus der Region bereit gestellt :) Wenn wir mal wieder auf die Azoren kommen sollten, dann definitiv wieder dort hin. A Truly Charming Stay with Thoughtful Touches! Our group of four recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Green Sunrise House. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the prompt response and genuine care of the host, who even provided some lovely welcome gifts. The clear instructions for everything made settling in a breeze. The property itself is incredibly inviting. The decor, location are fantastic, making it feel like a cozy home. We particularly loved the well-stocked kitchen, which had everything we needed, and the ample supply of linen and towels was greatly appreciated. The music collection were a delightful bonus, providing entertainment and a relaxing atmosphere. We also thoroughly enjoyed spending evenings by both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, which added so much to the experience. Only con was the one bathroom for four people did not have a lock inside and the hot tub (primary reason for booking thi place) took hours to prepare and couldnt use it properly!

I had an incredible 3 night stay at this property, the pictures do not show it off enough. The views are impecable, with a lot of nature around and the most comfortable grass..! I hope you visit again, thank you

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux dans cette maison pleine de charme. José a été très présent et attentif, ce qui a grandement facilité notre arrivée et notre installation. La maison est exactement conforme au descriptif et aux photos : un véritable cocon, chaleureux et confortable, où l’on se sent immédiatement chez soi. Nichée au bord du lac, elle offre un cadre idyllique avec une vue à couper le souffle – les levers et couchers de soleil y sont tout simplement extraordinaires. C’est un lieu idéal pour les amoureux de l’authentique et de la simplicité, avec une atmosphère paisible et sincère, loin des artifices. Seul petit bémol : la route en contrebas, pavée et très passante, mais cela n’enlève rien à la beauté du site, qui fait partie des paysages les plus remarquables de l’île. Un grand merci encore à José pour son accueil !

Beautiful surroundings. Family welcomed us when we reached and explained everything. Joao had bread, eggs, cheese, jam plus more for brunch to welcome us - more than enough for family of 4. The highlight is the location of the home. It is on a farm. Beautiful view of ocean from the house, the garden and surroundings are peaceful and relaxing. Close to highway so we could get to places easily (we rented a car). I couldn’t figure out best way to communicate during our stay. So recommend getting contact information (the number I got didn’t work). As everything was explained upfront and nothing urgent came up during the stay, we were ok without communication. Highly recommend this home.

Casa do Rei was easy to find, had easy check in, and well located in walking distance to city center and fumaroles. The home is loved and taken care of. There is unique and detailed decor in every corner. The porch views are amazing as shown in pictures and we enjoyed the stay greatly.

Exactly as pictured, about 15 Minutes’ drive from Ponta Delgada airport. Although we were traveling with an 8 month old, we did not request any special accommodation. However, they set up a travel crib, had a high chair and baby bathtub when we arrived which was so thoughtful! Location is perfect in the middle of the island so you can easily get to all main attractions. Highly recommend for traveling families - plenty of indoor/outdoor space.

This was truly a unique stay! It was such a peaceful experience being alone in the park in the morning/night. The place looked exactly as the photos and the local snacks were a lovely welcome at check in. Highly recommend staying here!

Our stay was so relaxing with the beautiful grounds and views of the city and the sea. As you drive through the gate and down the long driveway and see the property for the first time, you are sent back in time by its old world charm. The pink stucco house sits on a hill with stunning views. The house was a little tricky for us to find, as the address on airbnb did not take us to the house, but we figured it out and it was smooth sailing from there. The location was very convenient to Ponta Delgada, tourist attractions, and other smaller towns. The house felt like living in a castle with modern conveniences and 5 full bathrooms, which was very nice for 8 guests. Our hosts were there to greet my friends, who arrived first, and gave them all the instructions for the house. There is a working farm on the property, as described. If you do not like the sound of donkeys braying, frogs croaking, or the faint odor of a farm, then this house is not for you. We loved it all!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Francisco’s place. It was very easy to check in and quite easy to feel at home. The location is perfectly private, just on the side of town. We watched hikers come down from the trail to the miradouro and the farmer with cows in the pasture next to the house waved as he went about his business. The house was clean, and we enjoyed having a washing machine. One tip - it’s humid in Sete Cidades, wash your clothes on the first day, so they’re dry by the time you leave! There’s a fire place which is an extra cozy as well. We cooked in the kitchen and on the churrasco out back. Thank you!!

We had a very nice stay at Areias Houses! Beautiful garden, house and surroundings. We loved sitting on the tram and listen to the birds. A lot of things to see in Furnas just outside the property. Great location. Alexandra was a great host, very helpful. We really recommend staying here, if you are going to Furnas!

The accommodation was the best equipped we have ever had through Airbnb. So many kitchen utensils, plates, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans. A large kitchen with a new stove and oven and fridge. Great for cooking. All the rooms are beautifully furnished. The terraces are beautiful for lying or eating on. The location right by the sea is wonderful. It is only a few minutes to the sunset hot spots. The insider tip Tunel Hydraulico is only 7 minutes by car. The accommodation La Maisonette is definitely recommended!

180度海景和山景，非常漂亮，令人心旷神怡。屋里非常非常的干净，赤脚踩在干净的地砖上很舒服。设备也非常齐全。唯一的缺点是房间确实潮湿，屋内有配备一台抽湿机可以得到改善。幸好走道和客厅能洒进太阳。我们是五月底入住的，天气还算是比较理想。完厕后厕所纸不能扔进马桶冲掉可能会有些不习惯（岛上很多地方都这样），所以不影响我们对这屋子的评价。

Als Redakteurin für ein Wohn- und Architekturmagazin habe ich schon viele Ferienhäuser gesehen. Marios Haus gehört zu denen, in die man sich sofort verliebt. Die Sanierung ist sehr sorgfältig gemacht, und die Einrichtung wirkt modern, aber gleichzeitig warm und einladend. Drei separate Wohneinheiten bieten genug Privatsphäre, auch wenn man das Haus mit anderen Gästen teilt – was überhaupt nicht gestört hat. Die Ausstattung ist super, und der Pool sowie die Aussicht sind einfach traumhaft. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass auch andere Reisende, die Wert auf Stil und Komfort legen, dieses Haus lieben werden. Alles in allem: Eine Reise wert!

Our stay was largely very positive. The house was comfortable and offered a great base for exploring the island. We especially appreciated Michaela‘s & Nuno‘s hospitality and the delicious gift basket with local specialties. The location was excellent for daily activities as well as enjoying golden hour in the big garden. Communication was easy and they were very accommodating. I would highly recommend this lovely place to others visiting the Azores.

We loved our time at Quinta Falesia! Perfect location to get everywhere on the island. The house itself is cozy, charming and has everything you need to have a good time. We especially liked the provided beach towels and the welcome basket with delicious regional foods for a first breakfast. We felt very welcomed and had everything we needed. Thank you!

The villa is absolutely perfect! A traditional home with a full and well stocked kitchen and amazing backyard. Plenty of restaurants/cafes in walking distance. We personally loved Queijadas do Morgado the most! There is also easy access to the highway to get around the island quickly. Duarte was very friendly and quick to respond and an excellent host. Highly recommend spending your time in the Azores here!

What a peaceful, private and beautiful accommodation. The gardens are spectacular. Francisco is so easy to communicate with and provided great recommendations. We look forward to a return to this little bit of heaven!
