Cheerful 3 bedroom cottage on the Allegheny River

We built the summer cottage in 2006, for a summer home stayed on. We lived in the cottage 8 years when we wanted a bigger house. We love it year around. We are isolated with 3 neighbors (not close) and the river at our front door. Good boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming , hiking, bird watching (with a eagle nest across the river). December through February, it is best if you come with 4 wheel drive. Having said that , we keep the road plowed and the hill sanded.

There are two walking paths in our community that will take you to the lakeshore. Both are approximately a half mile walk.

Cottage at Lake Tranquility

Located beside 3.5-acre lake (private) with deck overlooking a pasture and swans ... a peaceful getaway. Upstairs is a loft with twin beds and small office. Electric heating and A/C make it very cozy. A queen-sized bedroom on the first-floor, kitchen, bathroom with shower, and laundry room. The living area is directly above horse stalls in the basement. We have isolated that area from the living spaces, but if you are extremely sensitive to farm odors you might prefer to stay somewhere else.

The cottage has 4 bedrooms (sleeps 8 comfortably), living room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom (towels included), screened in front porch and a car port for your vehicle. Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened in front porch. During the day you can fish, kayak/canoe, wade/swim or just sit and relax watching the water go by. Secluded along the banks of the Slippery Rock Creek is the 4th generation family cottage, fully renovated in 2017, originally built in 1940. Descend the 45 steps to the cottage and find “there’s no place like (a 2nd) home”. From the wraparound deck you may see geese, deer, bald eagles, osprey, beaver, great blue heron and ducks. You will find yourself just 15 minutes from Moraine and McConnells Mill State Parks. 15 minutes from Mines and Meadows, 10 minutes from Sunset Ranch.
