Hotel vacation rentals in San José Province

I loved everything about Eden - the kind, warm delightful Enid who stayed up very late so I could check-in after flying from Australia, the delicious breakfast she served, the clean and comfortable room, the lush garden and refreshing pool. As an older woman travelling solo for a few days in a country where I do not speak the language, it was the perfect place to recover from jetlag. I felt safe and cared for. Carlos, the driver they recommended to me was an added bonus, as was meeting some of the other interesting guests.

Gorgeous place close to the beach and park entrance. We enjoyed our A/C room and the beautiful jungle surroundings. We visited three restaurants close by, a vegan spot for a yummy lunch, hornitos for the best empanadas ever!! And Jafa for ice cream. If you’re on the local bus don’t get off on the highway and pay 3000 colones for a taxi, there is a stop just 800 meters away from the Airbnb. If you’re on the bus that stops at the big station we’d recommend paying for a taxi as it’s a 30 minute walk.

Hotel Santo Tomás was lovely. A little boutique hotel oasis in the heart of San Jose and so close to all the things to do. Finding it was a bit tough but it was very dark and we were very jet lagged. In the daytime it would've been no problem at all. They have secure parking facilities, very friendly staff, wonderful breakfast and the attention to detail of the hotel itself was spectacular. So many places to sit and just relax in the beautiful weather. Thomas sat and chatted with us and other guests over breakfast and had all sorts of recommendations, tips, maps, places to go and things to do. He is an absolute gem and can guide you in all things Costa Rica.

A BEAUTIFUL oasis and amazing deal. We felt so welcomed by the staff working there, especially Amanda. The grounds were stunning with plans through, the pool was a treat! Breakfast was made fresh and delicious. We loved our private shower outside the room. The yoga studio was stunning and such a great class. Short walk to the beach and local restaurants. We'll be back!

Great place with easy beach access but worth knowing that you will have to wade through waste deep water to access the beach. However, it was 100% worth it! Staff was great and they are very helpful and kind.

Alles wie erwartet, sehr aufgeräumt, sauber und bequem. Christian war zudem sehr hilfsbereit und höflich. Sehr zu empfehlen, danke.

Scott was a wonderful host! He was so helpful with questions and help during our journey. The cabinas are well-equipped in a very convenient location. Muy pura vida esas cabinas! We would return.

Es incluso más lindo que en las fotos (que no le hacen justicia!) increible todo, la cama mega suave y grande, el baño tenia todo lo necesario con unas toallas mega mega suavecitas, la mesita afuera era ideal para trabajar mientras veia la playa. Tiene cerca restaurantes super buenos (Tortilla Flats es increible, el mahi mahi es otro nivel). El lugar es super lindo, las instalaciones bien cuidadas, la piscina grande (para el tamaño del hotel), suficientes sillas, el desayuno abundante y con pinto de opcion! Dominical se sigue sintiendo como un pueblo costarricense y me encantó ver que la mayoria del staff era tico (el dueño claramente apoya a la comunidad!), el pueblo es super seguro y caminable, estuvimos en la noche solos en la playa y nunca sentimos miedo. PD: hagan una fogata en la playa frente a la habitacion, no se van a arrepentir!

Dev’s place was absolutely breathtaking. You have quick access to the main coastal roads, but her private house overlooks the most beautiful rainforest/ocean full of all sorts of Costa Rican birds and animals. The pool was a perfect was to end the day. Felt incredibly safe in her gated property. The host is one of the sweetest ladies you’d ever meet and gave us much-appreciated recommendations and tips about the local area. Highly recommend!

Das kleine, schön über San José gelegene Hotel ist sehr zu empfehlen! Sauberes Zimmer, großes Bad, Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank, Duschgel etc. alles da. Der Pool seeehr schön, ungeheizt damit man sich abkühlen kann und schön zum liegen und ein selbstgekauftes Bier oä zu genießen. Sogar ne kleine Terrasse hatten wir. Ebenso gibt es sep. Handtücher für den Pool; einfach fragen. Das Frühstück lecker; Pancakes oder Omelette oder French Toast mit Kaffee satt. Abends einen geilen Blick auf das Treiben und die Lichter. Mit Uber super günstig ins Multiplaza (8$) oder zum Flughafen, um 3h nachts (25$). Für einen 2-Nächte Aufenthalt perfekt und in einer sicheren Gegend; das war unser Eindruck.

Absolutely a wonderful stay. David is terrific and offers advice on best places to eat and local spots. Super friendly caretakers at the house and extremely gorgeous views. The beach is absolutely breathtaking. Definitely want to stay here again.

This villa was perfect. Sheryl and dennys were so nice and helpful to us when we needed anything. The ocean view is magic, and you’ll see so much wildlife here- titi monkeys, macaws, different tropical birds. This hotel was quiet to us, not noisy in the slightest other than with sounds of nature. Tico breakfast was 10$ every morning and really good at the hotel.

Muy recomendado, es muy céntrico y seguro, el servicio es excepcional todo lo que ofrecen está y más, es un hambien familiar, de parte nuestra familia lo recomendamos mucho. Pueden ir con ojos cerrados.👌

J’ai passé un excellent séjour ! L’endroit est très tranquille, parfait pour se détendre, avec une superbe vue sur l’océan. Les hôtes ont été très accueillants et nous ont fourni tous les renseignements utiles sur les activités, les bons restaurants et les choses à découvrir à Uvita et dans les environs. Je recommande vivement !

This is a great place, easy to find and with secure parking. It is within walking distance to the river and the beach and many restaurants. The room was very clean and bright with a comfortable bed and nice towels and linens. The room was very quiet. The attached restaurant was great and they had some live music at night. All staff were very friendly. We did not use the communal kitchen. Hosts had great communication. Would totally recommend

Had a great stay at John Martin's place. He's a very responsive host and attentive. Thank you Christian as well for taking care of everything there in CR, great person. Everything is just as described and will definitely be back!

Cindy y su esposo José Mario son increíbles, tanto como lo fue su Airbnb, es un lugar súper reconfortante y lleno de paz, súper privado, limpio, ordenado y rodeado de naturaleza, clima frío y lleno de recarga de energía. La atención de Cindy y don José Mario fue increíble, excelentes anfitriones, muy lindas personas, lo RECOMIENDO muchísimo, volvería todas las veces posible!

Great home! Just bring seasonings if you are planning on cooking. I appreciate that everyone was so helpful and quick to fix the WiFi tissue I had for only a day…I was able to work and enjoy walking to town for what I need. Highly recommend!
