Farmstay vacation rentals in San José Province

My friend and I really appreciated Ana Maria's hospitality and her family's gorgeous home. We loved the special personal touches including the jungle of house plants and well-stocked library with board games and books. Having the fireplace stocked with wood made it possible to have the perfect ambiance for reading in front of the fire on a misty afternoon! We found it helpful to have earplugs at night, as the home is close to a transit road, and earplugs did the trick to help us sleep soundly.

beautiful property!! beautiful and comfortable home!! amazing gem of a spot in the jungle. far enough away but still reasonably accessible. will be our number 1 spot when we return to Costa Rica. host and family were extremely nice and hospitable. would have liked to stay a few more weeks

This is a beautiful property: a pair of little houses set in a lush garden. A lot of attention to detail in decor and equipment available to renters. We would certainly stay here again!

We stayed only one night prior to our flight. Despite being close to the city/airport, it felt very private and was relatively quiet. The view was great, and we walked to a restaurant down the street for dinner. Beds were very comfortable. Stephen’s team was super responsive and went above and beyond.

We had a wonderful stay. Chandra was awesome. Would definitely recommend if you are looking to connect with nature.

The house is beautiful the area is extremely peaceful. Merari welcomed us and showed us around the house and how to use some appliances. The Costa Rican breakfast was delicious and my step mom really enjoyed her massage. They come to the house, we didn’t have to go anywhere. We ran out of some essentials but conveniently enough, there’s a Walmart less than 20 minutes away. Extremely satisfied with our stay. Thank you Vera and Merari

I had a great time at Finca San Luis. A quiet and peaceful surrounding with lots of farm animals (funny dogs!) fantastic farmgrown veggies and coffee. Luisa is a lovely host, we shared some laughs. The cabaña has everything you need, a nice terrace with rocking chairs and a beautiful view, great kitchen and bathroom with hot water, comfortable bed which keeps you warm at night. Satisfaction guaranteed!

A wonderful place with a lot of peace

This airbnb mountain home exceeded all expectations with its breathtaking views and cozy, beautiful interior. We all had a relaxing time...the fireplace and fantastic jacuzzi made for a truly unforgettable stay. On top of that, Maria Laura was incredibly responsive, kind, and welcoming, even providing us with coffee and delicious homemade tortillas! 10/10 we hope to be back soon!

What an incredible getaway at Las Cumbres! It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The place is absolutely stunning, and the cabin exceeded all our expectations! There’s so much to explore nearby, making it an adventure-filled retreat. Our stay was simply delightful, and the host delivered outstanding service that truly made our experience unforgettable. Enjoyed my stay! Was perfect for a great night sleep. Waking up to the beautiful garden and mountains was very nice. Raquel’s place is very accommodating and comfortable. Safe neighborhood and very peaceful. She was so thoughtful to bring fresh eggs from her chickens in the AM. Would for sure stay again!

This has been my favorite Airbnb since I have been in CR. I absolutely loved it! We will remember our time on the farm fondly. The view is something indescribable. The open air kitchen was awesome! The bed is super comfy. The steep drive up is a little rough but we made it with a small standard auto rental. I can not recommend this Airbnb enough. Xinia is a beautiful human and I wish I had been able to spend more time with her.

Our stay at Rancho Montecito was beyond amazing. The accommodation is second to none, and the views from it are incredible and emotional; from the peace of the morning with the birds singing, to the exhilarating theatre of dramatic thunderstorms. The forest walk, ending at a stream with a green meadow beyond it, was beautiful, and the herds of white Brahman/Nelore cattle were striking against the jungle background. We love that this is a ‘no-kill’ farm. Debbie was welcoming and went out of her way to ensure that we had the best experience possible not only of her ranch, but also of the whole area. Her story of finding the farm, and the vision she had for it, was mesmerizing. Using her immense knowledge of fauna and flora, she poured her energy into it and molded it into the truly amazing place it is now. Thank you so much, Debbie, for such a unique and magical experience. We truly felt we made a lifelong friend from pretty much the moment we met you, and we can’t wait to return.

Beautiful house and beautiful place, ideal to disconnect completely... my family and I celebrated my birthday in a very intimate setting with nature. Noa is very kind, always attentive to everything and quick to respond. I recommend it!

This place is fantastic. Big and spacious. Peaceful and quiet. We had hoped for lots of birds and more wildlife, but that was practically nonexistent. The place is fairly close to Santa Maria, which offers everything you would need for supplies and some great restaurants. If you are a larger group, this is the perfect place. Especially if you have kids. The soccer field was awesome. We would stay here again, and Gustavo and his group of helpers were very responsive and on top of everything! Thanks for helping make our stay wonderful.

This Airbnb is a nature lover's dream. Beside the bedroom and bathroom, everything is outside! We enjoyed cooking, reading, and playing cards outside on the covered patio. There are lots of birds and lizards to see and the landscaping is beautiful. We used the pool daily, which is in a very cute area. The location is close to downtown Sarchi. Alonso was very responsive to everything we needed.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The views are incredible—we were truly blown away when we woke up and looked out; it felt like waking up in Switzerland. The location is very close to the volcano, which makes it perfect for early visits—although it was unfortunately closed during our trip. The home itself is beautifully decorated, well-equipped, and very cozy. A quick note: the road up the mountain can be a bit intimidating at night, especially for those more used to city driving. We’d recommend arriving before sunset if possible. All in all, this was a fantastic place to stay and we’d definitely recommend it!

I can honestly say this place was like no other!!We were passing through and needed a last minute single night stay. Robert was quick to respond and was a spectacular host! I had no idea we had signed up for. This place will forever be a wonderful memory of ours. We have stayed in countless luxury Airbnb’s but few will be a memory such as this one. The sound of the flowing water right out the back doors in the middle of the jungle with the sound of nature = priceless. Property was clean and had everything we needed. We had traveled all day and didn’t really feel like doing our grocery shopping that late in the evening. The host offers a food option where they prepare and bring it to you. We have been in Costa Rica for a week, and this was the best meal we have had so far! The food was absolutely perfect. This place has been a highlight of our trip. Loved the place! Would definitely recommend!

Had a great time with my family. The kids loved the pool and my wife and I loved the house and the nature around us. I think they have a deal with the animals and insects where they come great you on your stay :) we saw a 3 sloths, many birds, and neat insects

Luis was a wonderful host. Very attentive and responsive, and had no problem answering our questions despite the language barrier. All the necessities were available, as well as extras we didn't expect. His family even gave us a small parting gift for each of my young children on our last day. The house is in a beautiful location; somewhat difficult to find at first through the winding mountain roads, but once we knew where it was it was nice to have such a private spot. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Having a morning coffee on the patio looking out over the valley was my favourite part of our trip!

This farm is charming and adorable, Deiby was very kind and the hosts were there for any request. My kids loved the pool and the river. they also had a nice small farm. Great for short stays with lots of room.
