From the second half of August to September, the summer bustle calms down, and it is a season when you can enjoy the quiet of Shinshu. During the day, go to the mountains and highlands, and at night, enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. This is a rental cottage where you can enjoy a sauna, BBQ, and the starry sky. As a base for sightseeing in Azumino, Hakuba, and Kamikochi, you can enjoy a comfortable stay for one night or for extended periods. Access to Hakuba, Kamikochi, and Tateyama-Kurobe is also good, and it can accommodate group trips, family trips, and long-term stays. With a washing machine and a bathroom dryer, it's also comfortable for extended stays. You can come by public transportation, but having a car is more convenient. Free pick-up and drop-off are available from Shinano-Matsukawa Station and Akashina Station. Other pick-up and drop-off services and sightseeing pick-up and drop-off services are available for 2,000-8,000 yen (round trip) depending on the distance, within 2 hours one way. For groups of 5 or more, please consult in advance because we can arrange a rental car. There are still openings on weekdays in September. It is also recommended for student trips in the latter half of summer vacation, as well as for couples and small groups.

This is a house that was renovated in 1991 using the beams of a thatched roof house. Why not spend a relaxing time with your family and friends in the plaster-walled living room and 8- and 10-tatami Japanese-style rooms, just like being back in a country house? Looking up at Mt. Asama, kites fly in the wide sky, and the Usuda Space Observatory is nearby, so the air is clean. There are several hot springs, including Fuse Onsen and Nozomi Sunpia, that you can get to by car. You can also go to Karuizawa, Mt. Nobe, and Kiyosato in about an hour by car, so you can climb Mt. Yatsugatake and trek to Myogi Arashina Saku Kogen Quasi-National Park. A rice-growing area comparable to Niigata, and thirteen breweries of local sake made with water from Chikuma that flows from Yatsugatake and Mt. Asama There are "Pinkoro Jizo", "Tomono Castle" and "Nakajima Park" on the walking course. Within a 15-minute walk, there is a large supermarket, "TSURUYA", and the roadside station "Healthy Terrace Saku Minami" in front of Saku Minami Interchange, so you can enjoy local ingredients using the cooking utensils and seasonings in the house. Nagano's Happy House (Karuizawa West)　

Happy House is about a 30-minute drive or 15 minutes by train from Karuizawa, a summer resort, and is located in a secluded spot in Miyotamachi. It's the perfect log house for groups of friends or families with kids, as well as for solo travelers or for work!　 From the skylight on the second floor, you can see the majestic Mt. Asama to the north and Mt. Hirao to the south, and at night you can fall asleep while watching the starry sky. 　A BBQ is available on the large roofed terrace with a built-in gas table. If you'd like, you can use it for an optional fee of ¥2,000 per use. 　 You can use the firewood fired bath with a large bathtub made of pine wood in a separate building for an additional fee of 3,000 yen. Please book by 12:00 on the day of use. 　You can also enjoy using the firewood stove for an optional fee of ¥1,000. Please pay for each option in cash or with PayPay at check-in. 　Nearby, Hirao Onsen's Miharashinoyu, which has an excellent view, is a 6-minute drive away. 　In addition, Omogae is located in a relaxing environment full of scenic Tsuyukiri Gorge and Takitsubo, where the Yukawa River, a first-class river that starts from Karuizawa's Shiraito Falls, flows. Capsule House-K, a monumental capsule house in nature designed by Kisho Kurokawa

CAPUSULE HOUSE-K is a private house designed by Kisho Kurokawa. It was created based on the concepts of Metabolism and Homo Mobius. This building is composed of the same capsules as the Chugin Capsule Tower Building, which is also a metabolism building, and was completed in 1973, the year after the building was completed. Until now, it has been open only to a few people and was a little-known building, but in 2019, the restoration was started by Kisho Kurokawa's son, and now it is open to the public with the interior of that time.
