  • Great place to stay, has everything you need! Parking on site was useful. The outhouse has another property next door but this wasn’t an issue, just something to consider when booking. Overall everything was perfect and I couldn’t recommend it more!

  • Really nice place to stay. The Views were great and the grounds were really stunning. The house was spacious and comfortable for the five of us and was very clean. The host was very nice and accommodating from the moment we arrived. It’s just a little hard to find the house from the main road, but no major issues. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

  • This house is simply amazing! We stayed here, a group of 15, for my sister's hen weekend March 2020. The house itself is absolutely stunning, the pictures do not do it justice. The bedrooms are beautiful, the kitchen was fantastic and the dining room was lovely for us all to eat together over the weekend. The location is great, around 10 minutes from Chester town centre. Caroline was very responsive to questions and communications were always helpful. Everyone loved the house and we had such a lovely weekend.

    Kayleigh2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is absolutely fabulous! As many a review say the pictures are wonderful but the house is even better in person - it has such a wow factor in the entrance pop Hall! It is perfect for a hen weekend. The 5 bedrooms all with en-suite were great for the 12 girls that stayed. My sister the hen was completely surprised and thrilled by the house. We all decided that we wanted to buy it and live there by the end of the weekend. The kitchen was very well stocked - the bedrooms beautifully cleaned and spacious. Enough easy parking for all 9 cars! Great location - easy access for Chester!! The house was everything we needed and more - perfect for winter and summer! Thank you Caroline for a fantastic weekend in your home!

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place!!! We will definitely be back again. Perfect venue for a hen party! We had caterers in on the Friday evening whom also commented how perfect the venue was for this sort of thing! Could not fault the venue or the host’s hospitality. 5 star all round :)

  • Caroline was such a great host, helping us out with anything we needed straight away! A beautiful house and lovely location - we fully recommend!

    Deborah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline and her husband were very responsive to our questions. When we had an issue they were on top of it immediately and worked hard to resolve it as quickly as possible. We were very impressed. Location was great for Chester zoo and other local attractions. Every bedroom having an en suite bathroom really helped.

Our outbuilding is a self contained unit with kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. It is newly completed and beautifully spacious and light. It is directly opposite a working farm and overlooks our orchard with a small patio area. There are chickens in the orchard. Parking is immediately outside the Outbuilding, shared with the main house. Oscroft is a 15 minute walk from Tarvin from which a bus can be taken into Chester. It is a 20 minute drive into Chester city centre.
The outbuilding is a spacious studio with seperate bedroom and bathroom. It has a kitchenette, fully equipped for all your culinary needs, dining table, and sitting area with TV. We live in a rural setting. The Outbuilding has double doors opening onto the orchard where chickens roam free. We are also opposite a working farm. Light fills the big bifold doors which open onto the drive between the Outbuilding and the house.
Oscroft is a small hamlet, a 15 minute walk across the fields or up the road from the larger village of Tarvin. Tarvin has 2 pubs - the Red Lion and the George & Dragon - and a restaurant - Cornichon. There is a fish & chip shop - King Louis'. There is a stunning church, part of which is medieval - St Andrew's, Tarvin, a post office, co-op, several hairdressers, coffee shop, deli and beauty salon.

  • Had a very last minute stay here and Felicity was very accommodating! The place was really stylish and super clean! Exactly what I needed for the evening. Would definitely recommend! Thanks again!

    Ellie2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • They have worked so hard to build this beautiful out building. We instantly appreciated the attention to detail made in the building and how wonderful Felicity was. Her son was also wonderful, the next morning we were introduced to their families amazing 4 legged fur babies and played ball with them for a while before we decided to head off home. We also had a visit at the side door by the Chickens which was wonderful. All the Animals were curious as to who these people were staying in their outbuilding. We will definitely recommend staying here. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience. We loved every minute. Until next time x

Wow simply stunning! A beautifully refurbished, stylish and modern large family home sleeps up to 12 guests. The house has just undergone a total transformation, we have fitted high specification kitchen, bathrooms and furniture. The property is large and spacious and would be a great place to have a family gathering or just a base to see the local sites. Chester Zoo is 15-20 minutes by car and bus, Chester town centre is also 15-20 minutes by car and bus.
The whole space available for the guests to enjoy

  • Really nice house super clean, nice high street with 2 pubs and a co op just round the corner for anything you need, only thing we struggled with was any local taxis (obviously nothing to do with the host but to bare in mind if you was planning a night in Chester like we was), thanks for a great stay!

    Olivia2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This home was the perfect venue for a large family gathering. Clean and bright, plenty of room and great facilities. The village is great, I found the locals very polite and pleasant. It has a small COOP store, a few little newsagents , post office etc. ( I recommend the chinese reaturant ). There are two local pubs, we tried the George and Dragon. Access to local attractions from this location is relatively easy e.g. Ceshire oaks, Chester Zoo. We had a brilliant time here caching up with family. Would definitely book here again. Stephen was a great host. Thank you

  • A really lovely home from home. The loft apartment is really beautiful- it has a large bathroom with a great powerful shower, plenty of kitchen and living space and a very comfy bed. Stylishly decorated with a lot of character- I don’t think the pictures convey how big the space is! :) It was a great base for our weekend to explore Chester zoo & Cheshire Oaks outlet village (approx 15 mins to each). Great friendly communication from hosts and we’d definitely come back if visiting the area! Highly recommended :)

  • An absolute gem! I don’t think the pictures do this fabulous listing justice, it is such a big space, the fully stocked kitchen has a dining table big enough for a large dinner party! The amenities make this a home from home stay not to mention the incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. We stayed here with our 5 month old baby and were lucky enough to have a beautiful cot and baby bath! We wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you Richard and MJ for your incredible hospitality.x

Bright and airy ground floor double room with en-suite bathroom and private entrance situated in the popular Chester suburb of Hoole. Located 30 minutes by foot from the centre of Chester and 10 minutes from the award-winning Faulkner Street our house provides a perfect base for your time in Chester. Whether you are coming to Chester for the races, the zoo or perhaps just to marvel at the second-most-photographed clock in the world we look forward to welcoming you.
A simple semi-detached house on a quiet cul-de-sac. the house has recently gone through a modernisation process and boasts all the mod-cons. There is on street parking as well as a drive which can fit two smaller cars (we park our cars on the drive). The large garden is currently 'under construction', we are hoping to finish it this year. We have a secure garage should you wish to store your bike or other belonging in here - please ask. Although the room has a double bed we have decided due to the size of the room it is better suited to individual travellers. Please be aware there is not much room to store large cases. Couples are welcome but please be aware of the limited space. We have a microwave, toaster and kettle in the family kitchen that guests are welcome to use for heating meals.
Hoole is one of the most sought after addresses in Chester. We are a short walk from Faulkner Street, which recently won High Street of the year. There are shops, pubs, cafes and the famous Sticky Walnut restaurant in this area. Our Close is a quiet one, so please be aware of that when arriving at or departing from our house.
  • Toms place is a great place to stay over in Chester whether for work or tourism. Comfortable, warm & with a private bathroom as well & is excellent value. Close enough to the canal to walk into the centre of Chester to get to a host of great pubs & restaurants. Definitely recommend

Self contained, one bedroom annex set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, yet close enough to Chester City Centre to warrant this the perfect place to stay.
The annex has all the comforts of your home. It has a separate fully equipped kitchen and a spacious shower room. It overlooks the garden, with parking on the driveway.
The annex is situated a short walk (20 minutes) from a pretty village with a corner shop and independent pub. The canal towpath is a little beyond that and leads into Chester City centre (about about 40 minute walk).
  • Great find on the cusp of glorious Cheshire countryside and close to enough to walk in to Chester along the picturesque canal side. Will definitely be back

    Eddy2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Repeat stay, all good as usual. Will use again when it is available and I need to stay in this area.

  • Great annexe with everything exactly as promised. Well equipped little kitchen, comfy sitting area and pleasant bedroom , very warm and cosy on an only just above freezing weekend. Nicola was extremely responsive and helpful. Would recommend this place.

    Karen2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola’s place is perfect for a weekend in Chester with everything you wish for. The Annex might not be in the middle of Chester but we used this as an opportunity to take a walk alongside the canal into town. Nicola is a brilliant host. She always replied quickly and has been most friendly and caring. The Annex was spotless clean and there even were cereals and muesli for her guests in the kitchen, butter and Marmelade in the fridge and a nice selection of different teas. We will definitely be coming back when spending a weekend in Chester again. Thank you Nicola for a wonderful weekend.

    Sergio2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is spotless and very comfortable in a peaceful setting yet close to good road and rail connections for visiting local attractions. The facilities and little touches are well thought out and made our stay relaxing and easy. I would stay here again.

  • The only reason I gave a 5 star rating is because I'm not able to give a 6 star rating. Nicola's place is a high quality space and finished to a high standard with great facilities. Nicola is a lovely host who met us with a warm welcome and was able to answer any questions we had. It's a great place - especially if you like privacy and your own space. To sum up - I loved it here and I hope to be able to stay here again. Highly recommended

  • It was a perfect weekend getaway for my family! Lovely lodge with everything we needed. It was 20mins from Chester Town centre but far enough away that we didn't feel like we were in a town.

  • We hoped for a comfortable and cosy Christmas stay and Barley Rise didn’t disappoint. A wonderful and warm 2 week stay in a great location - perfect for our family of 5. The lodge was spotlessly clean with high quality linens and towels. We also appreciated the mid-holiday clean, bed changes and ground coffee top up! Regular visits from Murdock, the friendly labrador, were welcomed by all. Kay was the perfect host - fast and responsive, nothing was too much trouble. We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Barley Rise Lodge.

  • A great lodge with plenty of space, very very comfy beds, lovely view over fields. Kitchen is extremely well equipped with high quality fittings and utensils. The sofa is a great place to relax with the wood burner offering a cosy feel to the room. This was my second visit to this property and I had a very happy week.

    Jacqui2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing!! The pictures don’t do it justice as everything is in an immaculate condition. This has been by far the cleanest Airbnb place that me and my family have stayed at. Everything has been catered for and the fireplace is amazing once you get it going. The location is stunning and very pretty at night. The place has a very modern look and feel to it and the living area is very large which is ideal for kids. Kay is an excellent host and is very friendly and approachable. Her dog Murdoch is very friendly too and the kids loved him when he was around. Will definitely be coming back here to stay when visiting Chester as it’s location is great for both the Zoo, the City and the Ice Cream Farm.

There are some excellent pubs and restaurants nearby and easy access to Chester City and North Wales. The apartment is set away from the road which is a country lane and is a beautiful retreat.
  • The studio is a lovely space. Such a great location, very quiet and private but still close enough to Chester to get into the centre. There was a breakfast hamper provided which was a fantastic touch and very thoughtful. The hot tub is very spacious and a wonderful way to relax.

  • Thanks for a great stay. The location of the Airbnb is perfect, quick drive into Chester and one of the easiest places to find we’ve been too. The hot tub was warmed for arrival, and the breakfast hamper was a lovely added extra. Communication was also quick and simple. Highly recommend!

  • Great cosy little space. I was working at the uni and it was a perfect place, quiet and about 20 mins from Chester.

    Tamara2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Although small, the Shepherds hut as everything you need. This little gem is spotlessly clean with excellent facilities, plus a lovely en- suite. The hosts have also provided a lovely seating area, with lovely views to the surrounding garden. This is a lovely place to chill out and relax. Well worth the price.

    Sharon2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This small but spacious shepherds hut is lovely and great value for money! Me and my partner stopped here and we had plenty of space! The bed was comfortable, the shower was wonderful and we had everything we needed for a long weekend away. There was a great pub in the village near by, as well as an amazing ice cream factory. The shepherds hut has good countryside reviews and is in a quiet location. Richard as a host is really good as he was there to greet us and was around during our stay if we needed anything but we didn't, as they had already gone the extra mile by supplying milk, tea, coffee, sugar, cereal and an ice pack was waiting in the freezer for us (during an exceptionally hot weekend this was perfect!)! Parking is right behind the hut so we didn't need to carry the bags fars. All in all it has been an excellent find!

    Bethany2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Richard and Anne are amazing hosts, very welcoming and they provided us with great tips about the area. The hut was easy to find based on Richard's instructions and the check-in was very simple, no hassle at all. We had our little dog with us and it was so lovely that we were even given recommendations for dog friendly pubs - with the best views! Richard and Anne's dog, Bella is a sweetheart and was very patient with our nervous dog. The hut is very nice and clean, and it feels a lot more spacious than in the pictures. There is also a lovely outside sitting area that we sadly didn't have a chance to enjoy because of the rain. We'd definitely stay there again!

    Szilvi2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay at the Shepherd's Hut - it is such a great find. Unbelievable the facilities that are squeezed in but even with two of us staying there this time it didn't feel crowded for a weekend. Great flexibility on arrival and departure too.

    Louise2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting at the edge of the owners lovely garden. Pristine clean, excellent quality. Small but perfectly designed!

    Paul2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

Towpath Cottage, part of a converted Victorian bakery, is situated alongside the Shropshire Union Canal. Self contained, upstairs comprises one generous bedroom with king size bed and en suite bath/shower room. Downstairs has a comfortable lounge with adjoining kitchen-diner. Please also 'Read more about the space' below.
The courtyard is part covered and part open - perfect for barbecues or al-fresco dining. A lady's and a man's bike are provided, and the towpath is ideal for cycling .
Chester has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000 year old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings - and of course the one and only 700 year old Rows galleries where shopping is a double delight. The city is home to the oldest still in use racecourse in the country - The Roodee - once the site of a massive Roman harbour. Nearby Chester Zoo is home to over 21,000 endangered and exotic animals based in 21 acres of beautiful, award-winning gardens. Storyhouse is Chester’s multi award-winning £37m theatre, library, restaurant and cinema and the city has a wide choice of restaurants, pubs, cafes, tea-rooms and clubs. • Spotless comfy cottage with lots of added extras. Made to feel very welcome even though we was not greeted due to Coronavirus. Would highly recommend.

  • Such a well appointed stylish comfortable and welcoming cottage. Loved the bikes which we used to cycle along the towpath for a meal out. Well equipped kitchen with lots of extras. Even managed to have a cuppa and a piece of our cake Dawn baked for us outside on the patio

    H Michelle2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Towpath Cottage was a delightful place to stay. We immediately felt totally at home and Dawn’s chicken hotpot and freshly baked Victoria sponge was so welcome and extremely tasty! Thank you Dawn and John for the extra thoughtful touches that made our stay so comfortable. Everything that we needed was there for us to use!

    Catriona Macdonald And John2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at the towpath cottage. Nice touches and nibbles and snacks to keep us going. Only met John but he was very friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect for us as we enjoy walking along the canal to get into the town. Clean, warm and cosy. Would stay again. Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

    Jessica2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend this house to anybody wanting to stay close to Chester city centre. John and Dawn went above and beyond to make our stay the best. John was helpful, there to answer any questions and always quick to respond. The house was clean and cosy. Everything we needed was provided. Dawn cooked us 2 lovely meals and offered more. We appreciated the extras too! The fridge and cupboards were already stocked with the necessities. If we stay in Chester again, we’ll definitely choose John and Dawn’s house.

    Melanie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best places we've ever stayed, so many lovely extra touches that made it feel so much more personal than so many Airbnbs these days. John was there to help us check in, show us round and explain how everything worked. It was lovely and quiet, and was a lot of fun being able to cycle straight on to the tow path. A weekend away and a day at the zoo without needing to use a car at all! The pasta bake for when we arrived was so thoughtful, as we often arrive late at places for our weekends away from London and this really helps make your first night extra relaxing (and Dawn made it vegan and delicious!). We'll be back!

    Kelda2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a unique place to stay, try the Towpath Cottage. Dawn and John provide everything you need, pedal bikes included. Hospitality second to none, try it yourself. Easy to walk to Chester centre, or take the bus. Very quiet and peaceful location.

    Ken2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Towpath cottage is the loveliest Airbnb I’ve found. It’s secluded but handy for Chester city centre, and wonderfully kitted out. Dawn made us some splendid scones for arrival and John welcomed us in person and was very flexible with checking out a little late. Super hosts for sure.

  • This was a lovely, clean house in a great location. I loved the toys and books left in the kids' room... an unexpected but very welcome surprise! My two loved it. Also a great park at the end of the road for anyone with kids. Really clean, lovely little backyard and it had everything we needed and would definitely recommend/stay here again.

    Catherine2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place. Absolutely ideal. Well presented and just as advertised. There were even toys for the kids. We had a great time.

  • This is a clean, compact house 5 mins walk from trendy Hoole and 25 mins walk from Chester centre. It is also just a short drive from the zoo. Very easy host to deal with and all was as expected. The coffee machine makes an amazing cup to start the day!

  • Beautiful little apartment with extraordinary views over Cheshire. Perfect base for us to visit my family in nearby town, with everything we needed for a couple of days. Thanks Mark and family :)

    Rachel2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here whilst attending a local wedding. Mark was so welcoming on arrival, the apartment was beautiful and spotlessly clean and to top it off a super comfy bed after a night of dancing. The view from the kitchen was stunning we would love to come back and explore the area some more.

    Kate2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Felt right at home, all the amenities you need and then some!

    Patricia2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really nice stay at Mark's place. Nice thoughtful touches such as the seeded bread and milk in the fridge. The shower is great, the bed was comfortable, the blind doesn't give complete darkness for the early sunrise but is still pretty good. The Sunday roast at the boot inn 10mins walk away is also really good.

  • Right fron the moment I booked this place, Mauf was of tremendous help before and after arrival. She and her family were very warm and extended me all the help I asked for. Her place is very stylish, convenient (heating was spot in) and with even a small table and chair. Knowing that I was going to travel from Southern hemisphere, she had also organised for an extra blanket! The toilet (and everything) was superclean and stylish. I could yse her kitchen and amenities whenever I required. Overall, a fantastic experience ! Thanks a ton to Maud and Alan for being gracious and very helpful hosts.

    Sara2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Maud's house was comfortable and enjoyable, the whole family were very Welbourn and hospitable. The room was pleasant and the amenities were very good. I will definitely stay with them again if I'm visiting Chester!

    Andrew2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Maud and her husband are great hosts! They gave us not only a beautiful place to stay, but also gave great advice. Their house is just a fairy tale! And thanks to their hospitality, I want to visit Chester more than once. If you can visit their home, consider yourself very lucky! I advise everyone!)) Thank you very much!))

  • Maud and her family made me fell most welcome. The house is spotlessly clean, everything I needed was provided and although the bedroom isn’t the largest it was perfect for a single person to stay. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Chester then I would certainly recommend Maud’s place.

    Rob2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying at Maud's. She is a lovely and personable host. The location is great with easy access from the #7 bus or a beautiful 30 minute walk along the canal to the historic center. It was unusually hot during my stay so Maud bought a fan for the guest room. The backyard garden is lovely and a great place to hang out.

My place is a self-contained converted chapel attached to our home. The chapel has a large lounge/dining area on the ground floor with a galleried bedroom. Below is a shower room and breakfast preparation area with fridge, microwave and tea/coffee. Please note there are no cooking facilities.
The chapel was built in 1864 and converted into part of our home in 1993. It has loads of character and the furnishings reflect the nature and size of this lovely building. There is a separate entrance for guests through the chapel porch.
Little Barrow is in a rural location with lovely surrounding farmland and countryside. The nearest local amenities are approximately 2 miles away although there is a very good cafe in Great Barrow approximately a 15 minute walk away. We also have a Tearoom 100 yards away, open on Sundays only, serving breakfast, teas and light meals.
  • Liz is an excellent host and this is a beautiful place to stay. The log fire is a real treat. The little extras and great communication make it excellent value for money. Thank you. Hope to visit again soon.

  • Well it certainly has the WOW factor. I booked a few nights here as a surprise birthday getaway for my partner and I. What an amazing place to stay. We throughly enjoyed our time here. Communication with the host was quick and easy. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something different. Thank you Liz for being the perfect host.

  • We had the most wonderful weekend and it was always lovely to come back to a warm house with board games and breakfast aplenty. The chapel is even better than the photos show - a must-stay location!

    Coralie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying in this unique place. It is stylish, homely, welcoming and spotlessly clean. Thank you Liz, also for great communication and prompt responses.

    Andra2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • You can see all the glowing reviews about this place online so I am not sure I can add to that except to say that the host likely has put more thought, time and effort into this Airbnb than any other I have stayed at. The extras she provides are above and beyond the call of duty. Yes, the kitchen is highly constrained (no kitchen sink, washer or dryer, or stove) but that is all clearly outlined on the Airbnb website, and the setting and quality of the accommodation more than make up for that.

    Keith2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Liz is a great host, we had a great experience. The place is sparkling clean. Everything needed is provided. The location is amazing, specially for people want to go to Snowdonia or Liverpool. We will definitely have a second visit.

Delightful detached cottage annex in a rural location, only 4 miles from the centre of Chester, with accommodation for five and all mod cons. Separate kitchen/diner and family bathroom. You can use the extensive gardens if you are happy to share them with us and our very friendly dogs, who we will exclude if you wish. There is a separate entrance to use if you prefer and plenty of off-road parking.
One single room, one king sized double and a double sofa bed in the lounge area. All mod-cons provided.
The cottage is situated in a quiet rural location, as an annex to the main house. There is a school next door, so it can be noisy in term time on weekdays, particularly at the start and end of the day. There are lots of lovely walks through the fields, delightful cycling and fabulous views of the Welsh hills with the sunsets over them. There is a gastro-pub 2 miles away with an excellent reputation and two other pubs within one to two miles. There are several coffee shops nearby and Sainsbury's is only 2.5 miles away. The centre of Chester is a 4 mile drive, with all the amenities a Cathedral city can offer, with the unique "rows", Roman wall and the river Dee. Chester is also famous for the Chester Races, Chester zoo and the only Michelin star restaurant in Cheshire and Mersey. Liverpool and Manchester cities are accessed easily within 45 minutes on the extensive motorway networks. Rural North Wales and the lake district are also a short journey. The "Crocky walk" is 2 miles away and is great fun for children. There are several excellent golf courses within a few miles, including Carden Park and Eaton and with notice, I can arrange fly fishing on the river Dee on weekend days near Corwen.
  • Amazing stay. Trish is a perfect host, exactly what every air bnb should be like. She even looked after our dog when we went into the town centre for the day.

  • A wonderful warm welcome followed by a detailed tour of the house along with local recommendations. The house has some very comfortable beds and furniture with a kitchen to die for. The house is warm, cosy and homely. It felt like a a home within a few hours.

  • Sean and Trish were fantastic hosts! Great communication prior to the date of arrival and really helpful once we arrived. The cottage is lovely, has everything you need for a short stay. Clean and decorated beautifully. Would definitely use again!

  • Perfect little cottage in an excellent location. Super clean, great hosts with excellent little added touches (and super cute dogs!) You wont be disappointed!

    Rhiannon2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We have just spent four days in the most wonderfully cosy cottage just outside Chester. Sean and Trish were perfect hosts, on hand if we had any questions while leaving us plenty of space. The cottage was spotlessly clean and delightfully furnished with lovely little extras for our arrival. The village and neighbouring villages are quite charming with any number of walks for the dog. A selection of pubs within a few miles, just 10 minutes into Chester and a stone's throw into North Wales, there is plenty to see and do.

    Jean2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely comfortable cottage with easy access to lots of places to visit. Hosts are very kind, wanting visitors to have a good stay. Hosts are available at all times if needed. Our family and dogs were very happy and good to meet up with hosts dogs.

    Nasser2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this cottage enough, it exceeded our expectations. The cottage is really cute and exactly like the online pictures, you will not be disappointed. It is really peaceful yet very close to Chester. The cottage is clean and comfortable, we felt right at home. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked pretty much every day. As a host, Sean is extremely helpful and very responsive. Trish is absolutely wonderful, so welcoming and accommodating. We informed her that we were going to arrive later than we originally planned and she offered to get us a few food essentials. She also left a bottle of wine for us in the fridge which was extremely thoughtful. She is also amazing with children, my daughters loved her! Trish and Sean made the effort to greet us personally on arrival to give us the keys and show us around. Any issue you may have or any questions, rest assured that they will get back to you. Thanks again to our amazing hosts for a lovely stay!

Fully kitted out with everything we needed for our stay, including a pint of milk in the fridge for a cuppa after our 7 hour drive to get there! This home fitted the bill perfectly and we are already planning a return trip for a longer break. This home comes highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.

  • Germaine was an outstanding host, going above & beyond what she needed to do & even giving us a lift after we didn’t pre-book a taxi! Being from the city, we stupidly forgot that Uber isn’t a thing in the countryside. Our stay was pleasant & the apartment was much bigger than we expected, it was a shame we didn’t get to spend more time in this beautiful space.

  • We had a lovely time staying at this conversion. Around a 15 min walk to the main road where you can catch a bus into Chester but secluded enough that it was very quiet and peaceful. • This flat was spotless and a great place to stay, in a very convenient location. We had everything we needed or could have wanted and felt very much at home. June and Ian were very responsive and accommodating to our questions and changes in dates. We definitely hope to come back!

  • We had a very comfortable stay at June’s. The place is well equipped and it was easy to come and go with the self check in and private entrance. I’d thoroughly recommend if you are looking for somewhere cosy to stay in the area.

  • A perfect home from home. A large, spacious, two bedroomed bungalow with all the amenities you’d expect. Lovely and warm on a cold day when we arrived. Check in is welcoming and easy. Comfortable beds, lovely fluffy towels and a large indulging sofa. WiFi worked fine in the lounge area. Parking right outside the accommodation. Coffee shop is a convenient addition. Will be staying here again. Thanks Sian and Barbara.

  • We stayed to be close to the zoo and Cheshire Oaks; it was perfect for both! We have a 4 year old and a 6 month old, being a bungalow it was brilliant to know that our 4 year old could go anywhere and be safe. We went for breakfast in the cafe too which was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful when we asked for scrambled eggs on toast rather than the egg roll. Highly recommend a visit!

  • Fantastic stay again, will be back soon.

    Chris2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The bungalow is amazing, plenty of space, super clean and tidy, great parking. Very close to Chester for outings and dinner. Super hosts! We’ll be staying again soon!

  • The bungalow is a great space in a nice, rural location a few minutes outside Chester. A large living space and two generously sized bedrooms were perfect for our family of four visiting family in Chester, with a great shower and a lovely cafe (with great cakes and scones) right next door! The bungalow is only a few miles outside Chester, so perfect for families visiting this historic, lovely city, Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks or other nearby attractions. It’s easy to find, and has all the extra space you get in an Airbnb compared to a hotel, and all at a very reasonable price. Barbara and Sian were great to deal with, really helpful and responsive, and we’d definitely recommend Meadow Lea Farm to others visiting the area!

  • Exactly as presented on airbnb, very clean and everything there that you need. We only stayed for one night but it was good value and a lovely space to relax in.

The Barn is private, spacious and eclectic, set next to our house in 30 acres of meadows, woodlands and gardens. We are perfectly situated to explore the surrounding areas Historic city of Chester 12miles. Manchester 34m. Liverpool 28m. Cheshire Oaks 7m. Chester Zoo 11m. Delamere Forest 2.9m. Popular local pub 0.4m Sandstone Trail 1.4m Tesco Superstore 1.2m for supplies! Favourite things. Badger or bat watching in the fields. Seeing a Barn Owl whilst sitting in the garden room.
The Barn has its own private covered entrance lit with fairy lights and plenty of parking right outside. The boot room is great for dumping coats, bags and Wellies. The rest of the ground floor is very spacious with a big TV/games room and open plan kitchen area that connects to the sunny dining room. The open fronted oak framed garden room is brilliant for wet days or cooler evenings when the heat of the day radiates back from the walls, with grape vines and fairy lights in the roof you don’t really feel you are in the UK. Upstairs are two double bedrooms with a shared Jack and Jill bathroom. There is no shower. Extra guests can be accommodated on negotiation with a range of options from futons to a Bell tent in the grounds.
We are set away from the road and neighbours, enough so you feel really private but shopping, dining and leisure facilities are very close so it’s a great mix.
  • Lovely place to stay, and very welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay again.

  • Thomasine is a wonderful host, quick communication and so friendly and helpful. The barn is spectacular! Very spacious and sparkling clean. We stayed over Christmas and it was so cosy and warm. Thomasine had decorated a tree and put up decorations. The beds were all super comfortable, there were plenty of towels and utensils etc. Unfortunately due to the weather being so wet we didn’t make much use of the outside but what we saw was lovely. We will definitely be back! Thank you Thomasine and family 😁

    Sharon2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place- very quirky. Lovely underfloor heating downstairs. Accessibility may be an issue for some- the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are steep, and there are a number of different levels upstairs and downstairs- best to check with the host before booking if accessibility is an issue for your group.

    Deborah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property, perfect host, beautiful location.

    Helen2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The only thing better than the listing is the host who runs it. Thomasine and her family could not have been more hospitable to my father and I during our stay. They made sure every need was taken care of, and Thomasine even invited us over for a welcome dinner one night that was absolutely spectacular. The former barn has been renovated into a charming flat with heated floors and lovely accents and a gorgeous porch. The space is sparkling clean and super comfortable - we had a perfect countryside stay and will be back again!

  • Thomasine was an amazing host, very welcoming and communication was clear and quick. The cottage was spacious, clean and stylish, perfect for our getaway for New Year’s Eve! Myself and my friends had the best time and we can’t wait to be back in the summer so we can use the BBQ 😁😁 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
