Plenty of countryside to explore nearby & the most amazing hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Plus a super friendly cat & gorgeous peacocks strutting around!

  • Enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing weekend break in the annex. So many thoughtful touches, including a birthday cake for our birthday girls, made it the perfect cosy retreat for our girly catch up. Hosts were incredibly welcoming and hot tub was bliss.

  • This was our first time at Anna’s place and honestly say won’t be the last. Had an amazing stay in the annex and made to feel extremely welcomed. The room was quirky in style and felt like home. The location is stunning and welcomed by the numerous ducks, two friendly peacocks and a cat who loved a fuss! The hot tub was allocated to us for a time slot and was amazing. The breakfast in the room was stacked with a variety of selection. Over all 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

  • Anna couldn’t be more accommodating and the place had so many thoughtful touches. The hottub was amazing and so relaxing and we went to a great local pub. Highly recommended

  • 2nd stay here even better than the first with the added touches from the hosts

    Elliot2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here, it’s such a peaceful setting and was so nice to get away. The Cow Shed Barn was immaculate and incredibly homely & has everything we needed. Extremely comfy bed and the home made bread and eggs in the morning was the perfect finishing touch. Could not recommend more highly. Alexandra was a very attentive & responsive host as well.

  • Peacefully clean and beautiful

    Rosie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for a night with my partner, it’s such a lovely place and is out the way so feels nice and private, it felt much more spacious than I thought it would be. The barn was very clean and had everything we needed, when we woke up and opened the curtains the cows were outside and it was such a lovely touch to be right next to them, We went for a meal and drinks and the railway inn which is around a 5 min drive from the barn this was a really nice place to go. Would definitely recommend for a nice peaceful night away! If we are ever back in the area we would definitely stay again.

    Victoria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little hideaway, extremely clean with everything you need for a chilled night away 😊

    Amy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely setting on a working farm, my partner very much liked seeing the cows and the chickens. The Cowshed has everything you would need for your stay including fresh towels, tea, coffee and shampoo. The extra touch was the netflix account! Although we didn't expect this we still used this. Highly recommend!

You’ll love my place because of the views and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. For family's and groups why not check out our annexe as well which has 2 further bedrooms and a kitchen and shower room.
Lovely large shepherds hut, with a 5ft bed, small wardrobe, fully equipped kitchen, shower room with toilet, good shower and basin, small table and 2 stools, log burning stove, Amazon dot (Alexa) a wonderful quiet relaxing space in a spacious quaint English garden, with doves, ducks and sleepy cats!
Soberton is a quiet pretty village in the Meon Valley, with 2 pubs about a mile away, nice walks by the river, 4 miles from lovely Wickham Square, with antiques markets, restaurants, pubs and shops, 5 miles from Bishops Waltham and Marwell Zoo, approx 14 miles from Portsmouth, 16 miles from Southampton , 15 miles to Winchester, I can book a table at the white lion. Cycle rides on old railway track and bere forest is 1 mile away as well.
  • Spent the weekend here, celebrating my boyfriends birthday. We had a truly great time and we really appreciated all the thoughtful touches for his birthday! The hut and surroundings were beautiful, especially the jacuzzi!! I still can’t get over the peacock.. actually considering buying one! It was beautiful and so nice to be around nature and wildlife. Perfect place for a special experience!

    Senay2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a lovely place to go for a night away. Lots of extra touches to make it even more special. I highly recommend it!

    Lindsay2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Tin Hut is possibly the most relaxing stay you will ever have. Anna is a wonderful host, who communicates really well and thinks of literally everything! Anything you could possibly need for a short break is tucked away in the hut's little hiding places; from super fluffy dressing gowns to emergency bathroom supplies, and even a sewing kit! She has included some folders of information on local pubs, restaurants, and things to see and do- which we enjoyed browsing and would be really useful for a longer visit (we sadly only had time for an overnight stay). The super cosy fleece bedding was the icing on the cake for us- it being the middle of winter I had worried we would freeze during the night, but we were lovely and warm- even choosing to turn the heating off completely. Warning: this is the best night's sleep you will ever have, but you won't want to go back to your own bed afterwards! We cooked our dinner on the huge fire pit then enjoyed using the very private and relaxing hot tub in the evening. I would recommend booking a time slot to use it, as the other airbnbs on this property can be booked up last minute and the hot tub is shared between them. Anna had very kindly stocked the fridge in the hut with everything we might possibly want for breakfast, and there is a microwave/oven/grill combi and two portable hobs so you can cook anything you like. We could even feed the peacocks, doves and ducks while we ate as she had given us a little pocket of nuts each labelled 'Bird Food'! You can purchase some alcohol during your stay too- beer for £1 a bottle and £10 for a bottle of wine. The reviews suggesting that you pack light are absolutely right- while this hut feels surprisingly roomy and not claustrophobic at all, there isn't much space for large suitcases! Most toiletries are already in the bathroom including shampoo, hand wash, toothpaste etc and you don't need to pack towels or flip flops for the hot tub. We particularly appreciated the hot towel rail, spacious shower and beautiful stained glass in the bathroom. We didn't want to leave and are desperate to come back and stay again- this airbnb is a hidden gem and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wishing for a relaxing, quiet weekend in the countryside.

  • Brilliant little place highly recommend

    Sean2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Warm and welcoming with luxury touches. The hot tub is huge and feels private, we cooked ourselves a charming breakfast with quality ingredients, and kept toasty warm with the little wood stove. Do travel light as Anna suggests, so you can enjoy the little space, which has everything you might need. Eric and Anna both super friendly and accommodating.

    Katie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! We stayed here for New Years Eve and had a lovely cosy, comfortable and chilled stay. The Tin Hut is so cosy its unbelievable, the host had thought of everything with some wonderful little touches throughout. Great amenities, including the lovely hot tub. We will be back in the warmer months to enjoy the garden and surrounding areas more. You must stay here, theres nothing better than going to sleep in this cosy little hut and waking up to the peacocks and ducks right outside your window. Truly wonderful.

    Samantha2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay, loved my morning tea outside with ducks running round. Lovely and welcoming hosts who pay attention to every little detail. Defiantly Recommend and we will be back too. Thanks for having us!

    Jennifer2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a find! Everything was perfect - a beautiful location, cosy shepherds hut, cool wood burner and lovely hosts. Nothing was too much trouble - Anna even made a dinner reservation for us at a local pub after providing a couple of recommendations. There was a fridge full of quality food as well as fresh bread and pastries so we enjoyed a cracking breakfast! The hot tub was great too. Only 25 mins from Portsmouth. We are recommending this wonderful place to friends and family! Thanks Anna and Eric!

  • Such a lovely place to stay. Tony welcomed us and gave us a quick tour of the house. The place was clean and well equipped, all the utensils we needed were supplied in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable - two king-size beds! Perfect for a nights stay for four with friends to explore the surrounding areas! :)

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Tony's. The house is perfect for our family and the kids enjoyed playing at the back garden so much. Tony is very helpful and accommodating to our needs. We appreciate his time to ask about the temperature and his wife for kindly letting us use the washing machine and iron. Tony equipped the kitchen with generous amount of breakfast items like breads, yogurt, coffee, tea, eggs, cheese etc. We will definitely recommend the house to everyone and would love to be back again.

  • Tony has thought of everything to make your welcome and stay just perfect. Wonderful comfortable beds spotlessly clean throughout. The whole place is beautifully decorated, just a joy to stay in. This continues into the foods ready for your arrival. Fresh juice, croissants, cereals, fruit, breads, milk, cheese, ham the list goes on ........ A very big thank you x

    Lisa2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Me and a colleague stayed for only one night. Though not staying long Tony was very kind and was there to show us around before we were out the car door. The apartment is fantastic in every way, clean, plenty of space, great showers, plenty of food, great beds and much moor. Can't recommend this enough, you will love it :-)

  • A beautiful home and very warm and hospitable hosts. I had the ensuite room which faces west with a view over the fields. The other slightly larger room faces east over the garden and has a bathroom, with bath, next to it. Emma and Al left out a huge array of tasty breakfast food, and made me tea whenever I wanted it. There are fabulous hill/Downs walks a short drive away. At the moment the scaffolding is the best way to spot the house. Loved the whole experience.

A pleasant room with a separate private bathroom. There is a small double bed and a single bed. Ample parking and close to a "good food pub" on a bus route and close to railway station. Handy for M3 and M27. Southampton airport and the ports, Wickham, Fareham, Whitely, Bishops Waltham and Hedge end. Full use of kitchen and a small lounge. A quiet home suitable for business people needing a quiet nights sleep or friends needing a twin room. Wifi and a cold DIY breakfast available.
This is a double/twin/triple room. It has a small double bed (4ft) and a single bed. The bathroom, which is across a small landing is for your use only and is not shared. There is a small lounge also available for your use.
I live in a country setting with a "good food pub" a few minutes walk up the road. (This is closed on a Monday). There are other villages close by.

  • We booked this house for a family get together. There were six of us, four adults, two young kids (6yrs & 18 months). We stayed over the new year. The house is clean and spacious, with a great, well equipped, kitchen. Bedrooms are large, with generously sized comfy beds. The two living spaces meant it never felt cluttered. The dining table and excellent selection of crockery and glassware helped us create a sense of it being a special occasion on NYE too. The house feels homely, but staying there it doesn't feel like you are intruding on somebody else's space. The location was perfect for us, and the village of Swanmore has a good play area for kids and a well stocked shop.

    Dan2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

  • What an amazing location, right in the centre of a beautiful Hampshire village with amenities close to hand yet at the same time really peaceful. The house is really spacious with more than enough space for a family, all the rooms being double bed size at least. We spent most of our time in the rustic conservatory which was a pleasant temperature most of the time. The garden is a gem and fantastic for dogs and children who like to explore. We would one back without hesitation

  • Super modern space with plenty of walks from the doorstep. Marian was extremely speedy with communication and offered lots of suggestions for local spas when asked. She also left some lovely cookies and gin which were much appreciated! The log burner was fantastic as we shut ourselves away to hide from Storm Ciara. Bathroom very modern and great shower. Large, comfy bed with plenty of storage space. Microwave oven super handy for any cooking, plus induction hob. Oil/salt/pepper provided, plus some orange juice and milk. Note bathroom is not ensuite but through the kitchen/living room. Had a very relaxing stay here.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. There is a wonderful pub in the village that we were able to walk to. Winchester is really close as well - and returning to the Woodcote Barn was really something we'd look forward to at the end of each day. Everything about it is so thoughtful, it seemed like there was always another detail we hadn't noticed. Highly recommended!

  • We are so pleased we chose the Stables for our first experience using Airbnb, Marian and Justin were incredibly helpful and the property was charming, cosy and clean with everything we needed. The location is beautiful and peaceful and it was the perfect place from which to explore Winchester and enjoy walks in the local countryside. We would love to stay again.

    Anna2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Stables is a lovely property in a great location. We stayed in January and it was so cosy and a great place to come back to after a day out. As mentioned by others it is very clean, well equipped and Marian has worked hard to think of everything with some thoughtful touches.

    Julia2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a lovely long weekend at The Stables. The space is thoughtfully arranged and super cosy, it has everything needed for a quiet getaway. The kitchen is stocked with the basics and pots pans etc so everything you need for nights in, and if you don't feel like cooking, the village pub nearby is great! There are books and DVD's on the shelves to entertain while sitting by the log burner. Loads of beautiful walks in the area and there is a detailed guidebook in the stables with tips and walks you can go on. The cookies and gin were a lovely welcome touch (though we were doing dry Jan, but I'm sure the gin was delicious!) . Marian and Justin are great hosts and were very communicative through the whole process, helping me with taxi numbers and weather tips. Thanks again for having us!

    Hannah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayd a week at Marians beautiful place and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. It was clean, cosy and the bed sheets where wonderful soft. We would absolutely recomend it to everybody who looks for a quiet place on the countryside with short distance to several excursions.

Lovely space and the little touches are excellent....the hosts left us bread jams and croissants for breakfast, rock salt and ketchup and those sorts of things...only downside was the WiFi...lots of problems and we couldn’t stream a film which was a little disappointing after choosing one over dinner...

The Guest House oozes chic Scandinavian style with exposed pine walls and ceilings and a compact oak kitchen. It is set in the gorgeous classic English country garden of a large 16th century thatched house in the Meon Valley, one of the most beautiful parts of South Downs national park. The grounds contain a swimming pool and tennis court for guest use. The Kings Way trail passes within a few steps of the property on its way to the lovely local pub for great food and quality ale.
The Guest House is a wonderful base for those wishing to explore the surrounding countryside and many wonderful pubs, restaurants and picnic spots. People are always surprised to discover this magnificent rural beauty such a short distance from London. The double bed is a standard small double not queen as we are all now used to. The sofa bed is a day bed. Available as either one or two single beds. Please ask if you need these made up.

  • This place is absolutely adorable! My husband, my dog and I had a lovely few days in this lovely house. It was lovely and warm and really well put together. Excellent use has been made of this little space. Tara was super friendly and extremely helpful. The home made bread we discovered upon arrival was a particularly nice touch. We would definitely recommend this place and happily stay there again.

  • This was a beautiful, cosy retreat. We really only used it as a base camp for trips to Southampton, Portsmouth and the New Forest but the place was everything we needed and the little touches like homemade jam and apples and pears from the trees were very thoughtful. Tara and her husband are lovely and really accommodating whilst also being respectful of your privacy. Pub over the field is fab too. Would love to come back when the weather is better to enjoy the pool, tennis court and grounds. Great hosts and great property, highly recommend.

  • Another great stay at the annexe. Despite a wet and stormy weekend, we felt warm and cosy at the annexe. A really handy location for visiting family nearby with sufficient space to relax in an evening. A really quiet and peaceful location but easy access to all locations in the South Downs and nearby amenities. Really well equipped, spotlessly clean and tasteful decor. We hope to visit again soon.

We are happy to provide bike storage if required. Details about local pubs and places to visit are provided in the welcome folder in the room. Car parking is directly in front of the building under car port.

  • The Beech hut was fantastic. Mandy was so welcoming and accommodating and we loved the small touches left in the room. The breakfast was ample and we were not expecting so much food it was a great surprise. Staying at the beech hut added to an already lovely weekend getaway.

  • We had a lovely stay at the beech hut, great little base to explore the local area. Really cozy evenings, a short walk to the local pub and a fantastic breakfast to set us up for the morning!

  • Lovely and cosy and delightfully presented cottage. And dog friendly! Excellent location with views of the forest. Lots of things to do nearby such as country walks, traditional pubs, and stargazing. Excellent breakfast and tea and coffee station.

  • Really great place and location. Mandy and Steve are great hosts and were very generous with time and suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Even helped us out when we needed a few extra bits and pieces during a stay. Would love to come back.

Look out across the paddocks where horses now graze in the place of cattle. Light a warm fire and listen to the owls leaving their roost for the night.
It's simple living in a beautiful Mongolian Gerr. Unlike our Woodland Yurt, here we have running water, with showers and toilets in the old cattleshed. There is also electricity should you want it.
The Gerr is on the edge of a stable yard, so you will see people coming and going to look after their horses.
  • Such a peaceful getaway, we have stayed before and would stay again. Highly recommend.

  • A most beautiful view greeting when I open the blind in the morning to look out over lovely garden leading down to a river. I only wish I had the opportunity to stay longer. A very interesting host undoubtedly has plenty of experience in the hospitality industry

  • Clive was lovely as usual. His house was spotless, complimented with sweets and I love how he provides slippers because I always forget mine. I can't wait to go back again.

  • Excellent host Quick response even to my last minute booking.

    Neil2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about my experience here was great. The location was perfect, the room was clean and tidy and the rates were very reasonable. Clive was very welcoming and has organised everything really well. I’d definitely recommend and next time I’m in Wickham I’d look to book here again for sure.

  • Perfect, just perfect Do I need say more than the strap line? The house is breath taking. Clive you undersold it. It is trapped between a golf course to the North and the River Meon to the South. The river runs at the bottom of a truly beautiful garden. Everything was spotlessly clean, every amenity provided and, well, it was just great. I loved the attention to detail. Te bottle of water by the bed, slippers – really Clive provided slippers. The wee plastic bag on the bed, I am not sure what the bag was for but the thought was very much appreciated. Clive is a great host. A fascinating fellow. I could have interrogated him for hours but well, it just seems a little rude Clive , I will be back…if you’ll have me
