Our cottage "Rosie" is on the picturesque Tamar River, just 20 minutes north of Launceston CBD, with unobstructed views across the river and green countryside beyond. Being right next door to the popular Rosevears Tavern, a cosy drink by the fire or dinner in the impressive restaurant is just a few steps away.
The cottage is completely self contained, with all furnishings, kitchen and ensuite set up for a comfortable stay, ideal for couples seeking a romantic getaway into the peace and quiet. Bed: 1 x QB, 1 x DB futon, 1 x Porta cot [Ideal for a couple with 2 children - the futon may not be ideal for adults wanting a proper bed] Kitchen: small portable stove top + small portable gas stove + small portable oven + small fridge Entertainment: TV + DVD Player with ample kids and adults DVD collection , a few board games, playing cards, books, magazines NOTE: If you require more space for a larger group of people, we also have a Chalet situated just above the cottage on the hillside ("Rosevears Waterfront Chalet") that sleeps up to 7 people. Please contact us to check availability for booking both properties. Very affordable option for a few families to stay together on the river!!
The property is located on the acclaimed Tamar Valley wine route, believed to be the oldest wine region in Tasmania. Tasmania's cool climate wines are renowned worldwide and there are around 30 wineries within driving distance of Rosevears. Cellar door tastings which are popular with the tourists are known to be a specialty of the valley. The historic cottage which began life as the Rosevears Post Office (circa 1900's precise build date is unknown), is located directly opposite the river on a level plateau to the front of the property. The neighbour to one side is the historic Rosevears Tavern (a genuine landmark in the area) and diagonally opposite is the popular Rosevears Pontoon. Rosevears is an idyllic country suburb, easily accessible from Launceston CBD via a scenic drive. Rosevears is situated along the picturesque Rosevears Drive, a meandering 8km stretch of road which follows the waterside of the Tamar River. The drive between Launceston and Rosevears is a scenic pleasure.

  • Situated directly opposite the water, made for an amazing entry at sunset. Just sat by the window watching the world go by. The cottage made for an enjoyable stay, would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.

  • My partner and I had such a lovely, cosy stay here! The views were beautiful, it was conveniently located (we loved having the Rosevears Hotel next door for dinner - and yet, no noticeable noise!) - and easy to visit many local attractions. The cottage provided everything we needed, felt welcoming, and was great value. Also enjoyed visits from neighbouring friendly chickens. Thanks Bec and Tom!

Every detail has been thought of, will exceed all your expectations, most gorgeous kitchen will entice you to cook even on your holiday. Bathroom is just gorgeous. Loads of space for your kids to roam about, simply a haven for a city kid to spend time with 🐓 chickens and see where the eggs are coming from. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

  • We absolutely loved this place & wished we could have stayed longer than just one night. Communication was great, the place is really clean & is situated in a quiet & peaceful location. We also appreciated the little snacks Ian & Sue provided us with too. Boys enjoyed the pool table also. Will definitely be back if we visit Tassie again.

  • This house was so comfortable! We ate out on the deck with plenty of entertainment from the birds. The yard is full of flowers, and the River walk was lovely at sunrise and sunset. The bathtub was very inviting on a cold night, and so wonderful to have a dryer as well as washer. There is nothing more comfortable than a recliner, and the TV is huge. The kitchen has everything you need, and the treats were appreciated. We also picked blackberries for our pancakes. Great location to enjoy the River Valley.

Kate and Liam’s home is located between Exeter and Glengarry, in the picturesque Tamar Valley. This area is located in Northern Tasmania, and is only approximately 50 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania, and 30 minutes from Launceston.
We have recently completed the renovations on a unit that we have on our property, which has now made it a very comfortable and warm environment. The unit is not attached to the main house, so you will have full privacy. And free wifi :-) Guests will have full access to the unit, which has a small bathroom (with shower), queen sized bed, fridge, oven, toaster, kettle, and basic kitchen utensils. Guests will also have access to the outside entertainment/deck area. Our property is a hobby farm where you will see chooks, livestock, and a small cherry orchard. We also have pet dogs, which are friendly and spend most of the time inside the main house. We are happy for guests to bring your dog/s along, however prior notice is requested and they must remain on a leash at all times when outside, and they don’t rest or sleep on our furniture. Please note that the unit is comfortable for 2 people, however we do have a portable single bed if more than 2 people are wanting to stay, to a maximum of 3 people (the 3rd person will be an extra $20). Please contact us prior to booking so we can assist.
  • This was a perfect place to explore the area from, Kate and Liam were excellent hosts, and the apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable - has absolutely everything you need! Would love to stay again!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, so much so we ended up staying a week ! The cabin is well designed, spacious & very well equipped. Liam & Kate were extremely flexible and able to bring our accommodation forward at the last minute. Despite them both being extremely busy, communication before and during our stay was excellent and they provided us with some great local travel tips. The location itself is very central to the Tamar Valley, Launceston, North Coast and the Western Tiers region, so it makes an ideal base. Thanks again Liam & Kate, we're sure we'll be back!

  • Finding the entrance was a bit confusing when coming by car, but the parking space was wide, and the host welcomed me. The accommodation was very clean and nice. There is a smart TV. I did not wash, but there is also a washing machine. The air in the room was a bit cold in the summer, but I slept warmly and breakfast, bread, cereal, jam, milk, juice, capsule coffee, yoghurt, etc. Unfortunately, the letter P does not work if the mattress heater is broken. Recommended ~

Before booking, please read the full description of this house to make sure it's right for you. This beautiful country house is the permanent home of a meditation teacher and one other adult. One end of the house is set aside for guests to use as a meditation retreat or for your restful holiday. There are strict rules about being quiet at night and while others are resting during the day. In a small rural town and close to forest, this makes it a very peaceful place to stay!
The house is picturesque and timber-lined, has a large garden and forest on two sides, and has lots of lovely places where you can sit in peace. It is near one end of the small town of Hillwood which has a population of only about 350 people and which is 20 minutes drive from any shopping centres. Highlights of Hillwood include the wildlife and sunsets by the river, and it is a great base for exploring the profoundly peaceful environment of North East Tasmania. The house is not far from the Hillwood Road Meditation Skills Centre and it is often used for overnight accommodation or personal retreats by clients of the meditation centre. Retreats at this house are also sometimes known as "Goldilocks Retreats" because the house and garden look like they are straight out of a story book, your hosts are never too far away (in a good way!), and it’s a place where you can be curious about how we live.
Hillwood is a small country town with a population of about 350 people. The population density is low and many properties have livestock or orchards. At night there is very little noise and the lack of street lights makes it great for star gazing. There is plenty of wildlife including wallabies, kookaburras and echidnas.
  • Steph and her daughter Michaela gave me a warm welcome. I felt immediately at home. Really nice and quite spot if you need to charge your battery again!

    Josephine2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie’s place is very spacious and we had a very comfortable king size bed. Great value and it was a bonus to discover the beautiful Hillwood area nearby. We thoroughly recommend a stay there.

  • Geoffs' little house perched on a hill gives commanding views of the Tamar River valley. It's surrounded by beautiful gardens for walking and dotted with fruit tress and a veggie garden. The little house is well appointed with all mod cons and is snug and warm with the electric heater on when things get chilly. Shops, eateries and hotel are close by and Launceston is 15 mins away by car. Geoff and Carol are great hosts and are quick to reply if you have any concerns.

  • The garden is very nice, and the raspberries very good! The chickens are also beautiful (and quite). Good wine in the really close area.

    David2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a beautiful stay we had here! As a cook, I enjoyed the use of the kitchen, using fresh herbs from the garden. We could buy free range eggs, supplied from the chooks out the back and we even arrived home one day to find a bulb of home grown garlic in the doorstep! Such a beautiful couple. The bed was so comfortable, bathroom etc all amazing and the most beautiful view from the window. Highly recommend!

  • A fantastic AirBnB in the north of the Tamar Valley, close to lots of great wineries and overlooking the dam of this particular winery. Cassie has done a great job at styling and the place was spotless. We enjoyed our late afternoons picking blackberries, drinking wine and wandering the property. We'd highly recommend for any couple wanting to escape for a few days into the Tamar.

  • Gorgeous, sophisticated, simplicity. Great location on the beautiful vineyard/farm property. Well appointed cosy cabin with everything you need for a short stay. The log fire was delightful as was the welcome bottle of wine from the estate. The Tamar Valley should be everyone’s holiday list, very easy to get around, so much to see and do, coast, mountains and countryside.

  • This little shack is super charming. Very clean, consistent styling. We stayed one night and cooked dinner on the bbq and really enjoyed the fire. The chickens are very friendly and enjoy food scraps. A magical stay!

  • Myself and four friends had a lovely stay at Cassie’s cottage. It is a stylish and cosy space well equipped for a short stay. We particularly loved the complimentary wine, BBQ and Netflix! The cottage would be a perfect spot for a couples getaway. Juen was extremely helpful and communication was prompt. We had a lovely time visiting the other local vineyards! Car essential.

    Adelaide2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The best air bnb I have ever stayed it. Everything is so clean and neat. Not to mention how gorgeous the decor and interior design of the place was. Got a lot of ideas for my own home. Everything such great quality. I loved the friendly chickens coming up to greet us. We are definitely going to stay again.

  • Highly recommend Domescapes! Was a unique stay, perfectly located. Sitting amoungst the vines, staying within a stones throw to the celler door, magical!

    Dale2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the dome tent in the vines. Stunning decor with attention to detail. We loved sitting out on the deck with a wine in the evening and the breakfast provided in the morning was delicious. We had the pleasure of having a wine tasting here the day before we arrived so we were happy to just head down to the dome and chill out when we arrived. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Launceston, this is a unique and special experience. All the best Doug & the team!

    Charlotte2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The Dome is such a unique and wonderful experience. The space is stylish with beautiful views! Highly recommend.

    Sarah2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A must stay when travelling to Launceston! We have done glamping before in our home town of Victoria but this Dome experience is an incredible experience! It is set in the most beautiful location! We were provided with a complimentary wine tasting at the cellar door followed by a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch! A beautiful cosy space and the most comfy bed ever! Very clean and the breakfast hamper was also a great touch! Boris was so accomodating and I would highly recommend this Glamping experience to any of my friends/ family!

    Alana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Boris's place was exceptional. A novelty experience and we'll worth the price point. The swinging gates vineyard and wine tasting added value to the experience. Highly recommend!

    Jason2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve always wanted to stay in a dome and we finally got the chance. The Dome was really well appointed and had a spectacular outlook over the vines, which made it really relaxing. Being on the vineyard, just down from the Swinging Gate cellar door meant we got to stop in for a tasting at checkin. Suggest pre ordering a cheese board to have with your tasting as the list is really extensive. Doug the winemaker made the tasting experience one of the best we have ever had, explaining the differences between the styles of wine in offer and describing how experimental they are with their wines. We were even lucky enough to taste wines straight from the barrel, as they were bottling the next day. From the tasting we got to choose a bottle of complementary wine to enjoy in the Dome. Amazing experience all round, highly recommended putting this on your list for somewhere to stay/visit in the Tamar Valley.

  • We had an incredibly wonderful stay at Margrieta's place. The cottage is thoughtfully furnished and equipped, and offered a fantastic view to the picturesque landscape in the distance. Margrieta received us with great warmth and hospitality. She works hard in her impressive garden (which is a great place for a stroll or simply lounging about) and shared with us some of its finest produce. We also had the pleasure of playing with her dog Ziggy, who is most friendly and well-mannered. We wished we could have stayed for more than two nights, and would absolutely stay at the Dragonfly Cottage again next time we visit Tasmania. We would also recommend her place to anyone travelling there.

You could arrive without any personal toiletries and Ian has it all for you both males & females. Plenty of lawn for the kids to play and kick around a ball etc. So much to see around the area. A stocked pantry for all you could require, just bring your meat/fish/veg and cook away. Such an amazing find and I will definitely be back for a longer period.

  • Lynette and John’s Place is in the most idyllic setting, on the banks of the Tamar River. While feeling secluded, it is actually not far to supermarkets and to Launceston itself. It is a great spot to launch an exploration of the Tamar valley. The house itself is quaint and comfortable with nicely decorated bedrooms and living room, and comfortable beds. The kitchen is equipped with essential cookware, and the laundry was a blessing. We especially appreciated the well-equipped first aid kit that averted a trip to emergency when our son cut his hand. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

  • We had a lovely night at Elaine’s place. The West Tamar has such hidden beauty and this a terrific place to base yourself from which to explore the region, with great Tassie wineries only a few minutes drive away. The unit was neat and clean with everything you need and cleverly laid out, with great extras like a little deck, outdoor setting, and a Weber barbie as well. The peaceful rural setting was delightful, with a great view of Ben Lomond across bushland off in the distance. Good value and a nice place!

    Vince2019-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, but brief, stay in Elaine's cabin near Launceston. The cabins are located on their lovely property, with a lovely view looking over the dam. This was a great quiet spot to stay as an alternative to staying in Launceston, and the cabin was well equipped and very comfortable for three people. Just wish we had had a little more time there to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet!

  • Elaine's cottages in Exeter are the perfect serene getaway in the middle of the Tamar Valley. It is an easy 30 min drive from Launceston and a great base to explore the surrounding. The property is well maintained and with goats, ducks and dogs you have a private little petting zoo. The cottage itself has everything you need, is spotless clean and offers stunning views into the countryside. I would definitely recommend Elaine's cottages and I am sure I will come back at some stage.

Please note: Naturist means Nudist. Our property especially caters for discerning couples who prefer to be naked in the presences of others like minded people. Situated high up with magnificent views of the Tamar River and beyond, our 90 acre farm is very private and secluded despite being only 15 minutes drive to launceston.
This is a clothing optional farm stay where first timers can feel comfortable shedding their clothes weather permitting.
Whilst we are located about 15 minutes drive from the main shopping centers of Launceston, there is a small cafe about 3 kms along the road. This farm stay offers tranquility and privacy with walking tracks to the top of the hill where guests can be clothes free anywhere on the farm.

Tram Stop Cottage on the Old Bangor Tram Road takes its name from the history of the area and although the tram lines are gone the area has a long history. Signal Station walking track on Mount Direction is a popular walk. Our 2 acre hobby farm offers privacy and space with picturesqe dam ducks and chooks. Organic veg patch and fresh air. 20 mins from Launceston, the wonderful Tamar Valley gives easy access to the attractions of the Tamar Valley and Nth Tassie wilderness.
Your space is a warm cosy self contained cottage with its own private entrance and driveway, plenty of parking, front verandah and a small patio. A place to relax and recoup. We have ducks and chooks and some shady spots around the small dam for a picnic or quiet cuppa. Breakfast will be supplied for your first morning, cereals, bread, jams, milk, tea and coffee. Our chooks will supply fresh eggs when available. Chris is always happy to show you the vegie patch, and share some in season vegetables.
Hillwood Strawberry farm is only a few minutes away, pick your own or have a lunch or coffee in the cafe. On our doorstop is the Signal Station walk, or over the bridge to Beconsfield mine museum and the Exeter Bakery. Only 20 mins to Launceston heading South or head West to Leven Canyon or Sheffield and Cradle mountain. We are central to most the attractions of the North, North East and North West. Our region is home to world class wineries, and great eateries.
  • For our family this place was a second home! We stayed for more than a month. Needed a place to stay in the Lilydale area on very short notice and Chris and Greg welcomed us with open arms. It's a great, bright cottage with two big bedrooms and a very well equiped kitchen. There's even a garage (our kids used as playroom). It has a huge garden and you have your own drive way and private parking. Launceston is only 20 minutes away by car. We would definitly book here again!

    Dion2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • My Partner and I enjoyed Chris & Greg Cottage. It’s really lovely and tidy. They provide fresh eggs, jam, bread, and chutney for our first breakfast. We also enjoy to see their lovely vegetable garden and their chooks, and ducks. We love the location as it was only 20 mins drive to Mowbray marketplace, and 35 minutes drive to get to Greens Beach, 4 minutes drive to Cherry farm and 4 minutes drive to Hillwood berry Farm. They’re very lovely and friendly hosts. We will definitely recommend this place to our relatives, and we will definitely go back again next time.

    Jamille2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Chris had a very lovely place. It is clean and had a big space for our family of 4. Even though there is no Wifi available, we did have a great 4G connection

  • Tram Stop Cottage is a home away from home. Its a great spot to base yourself if wanting a family holiday that involves exploring the Tamar Valley and northern Tasmania. Hot showers, warm comfy beds, spotless private property surrounded by trees. The simple first days brekkie is handy if you haven’t had the chance to stock up on groceries - farm fresh eggs and delicious jams and chutney. Chris and Greg are delightful hosts- quick to respond and very helpful. It would have been great to have had our own washing machine but they were 100% accommodating in allowing us to use their machine in the main house. Also, there is no wifi, just in case you are travelling with teenagers. Top spot and a welcome luxury after 3 days of camping.

    Adrian2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great little place, a close drive to Launceston. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone!

    Rebekah2019-12-31T00:00:00Z

A short drive from Launceston, our cottage sits on the shores of the beautiful Tamar River. Ideally located on the wine route Lavender Cottage is perfect as a weekend retreat. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you read a book and catch the beauty of the early morning sun on the river. Centrally located in the midst of world-renowned boutique wineries the perfect place for the wine connoisseur.Relax as local birdlife skim the waters while you sip your wine.
This cottage is a rural rustic retreat. The cottage although small is quite roomy with 3 bedrooms(URL HIDDEN) A separate queen sized bedroom.A small single bedroom with one single bed and a trundle bed for extra smaller bodies. There is also a double sized bed in a room adjoining the lounge room area. The lounge room enjoys a very efficient woodheater which is most enjoyable during the cooler months (URL HIDDEN) is spacious with a very comfortable lounge/sofa.The lounge can double very comfortably as an extra bed if needed. The kitchen is cute and functional with all the usual accoutrements. Please nb this is an older style kitchen with narrow benches and small sink. However there is a big wooden table and a moveable island bench for extra bench space. We plan to update our sink and bench area very soon so please watch out for progress reports. Electric stove and oven, small fridge, toasters, electric jug, electric frypan and microwave if needed. Please be aware that because we have chosen not to use insecticides or poisons that there is always the possibility for a cobweb or 2. There is a cobweb broom under the staircase for removing any of these efficiently if you are affected by the appearance of these over a day or two. The bathroom has been totally refurbished and is clean and bright with an enclosed shower cubicle. The toilet is also located in the bathroom. A large living area to the left of the cottage is a gorgeous sun trap and the perfect place to sit and enjoy the early morning sun as it shines over the water and into the front rooms which are all set to catch the sun. Up the steep staircase is another gorgeous sunny room with views up and down the river. The 'reading nook' is a great place to bird watch or check life on the river in general. There is a washing machine in the laundry and drying can be done on the old fashioned hills hoist in the garden or on the drying rack inside. We trust that you will enjoy our cottage as much as we do however please note that we are in a rural, rustic setting. This entails being part of the natural world so bees, mosquitos, ants, spiders, flies and dust regularly find their way into and around the cottage. We do our very best to take preventative measures without resorting to unpleasant chemicals and always do a thorough clean between bookings. We are visited by native animals and wildlife and for this reason we do not use any pesticides or poisons on the property. It is important to dispose of all food scraps in the rubbish bins. Any bread or carbohydrates are considered to be a big no no for our native animals. The large decked area runs along the front of the cottage. Seating for 6 with a chimera wood heater and gas barbecue enables guests the option to cook outside and fully utilise and enjoy outdoor living and the magnificent views. The block is large with a beautiful garden both at the back and front of the cottage. Plenty of parking is available on a level clean surface. There is a small walk from the parking area through the garden to the entrance of the cottage. Mobility-challenged visitors may find this a problem so please be fully aware of the layout of our garden and the cottage entrance and parking arrangements. If you are not able bodied this location may not be suitable for you. Guests are welcome to water the garden as lavender loves lots of water and flower all year round if well watered. We hope all our guests will enjoy this special location, the deep relaxing quiet of the nightime and the clarity of the night sky are a unique pleasure in our device busy lives. We are delighted to be able to share the joys of Lavender Cottage with you.
Exeter is the closest nearby town. A larger hub is the town of Legana. Launceston is the largest close city and is only 20 minutes away.
  • Lavender Cottage is in a beautiful location on the Tamar River, perfect for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle. The house is well kept and very comfortable to live in. Lots of cute animals visit the property and it's a great way to see rabbits, ducks and pademelons up close.

  • If you like something a bit rustic and quaint this is the place for you! Lovely location by the river and cute gardens. Eating in the sleepout area is like being on a boat looking out at the river..lovely! Great value accomodation to use as a base.

  • Amazing place along the Tamar river, with beautiful views. The house is amazing and spacious with lots of things to do. Lots of wildlife to watch as well with Brady’s lookout close by.

    Vikram2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. We were there for 2 weeks. It is a nice mix of old and new. Has a rustic, relaxing feel throughout the place, while the bathroom and kitchen have been done up. Beautiful setting - right on the Tamar river. It has a wallaby family who lives on the property - father, mother, and 2 sons. My children named them Willy, Wendy, Wally, and Walton. They graze on the grass around the house and were not scared of us watching them. Cate and Chuck communicated very well with us. If there was anything we needed they would provide. The house had everything we needed anyway. We hope to stay again next summer!

    James2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cate’s place is in an awesome location right on the river. We loved listening to the water lapping at the shore and the evening wildlife coming to visit in the beautiful garden. The house is exactly as described, very welcoming, with absolutely everything you need to have a homely, comfy stay. The bed is very good and the slow combustion wood fire toasty warm of an evening. It was clean and we lacked nothing. Loved the bird life, the flora and fauna, it felt like a home away from home. Thank you for sharing your space.

  • Such a beautiful, peaceful and well appointed place to stay! Located right in the Tamar River amongst some spectacular wineries, this is such as fantastic place to relax and experience the beauty of Northern Tasmania. Murray, Lauren and Lisa were such exceptional hosts, even hand delivering a can opener from their own house when we couldn't find one in the kitchen. Would highly recommend.

    Georgia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our two nights' stay at Murray's airbnb was amazing. The house is extremely spacious, had such a good view of the Tamar River, and the amenities within the house were fantastic. Fully equipped kitchen, and many little touches that made our stay so satisfying. Just a little note that there is only one shower, and one separate toilet to be shared by 6 of us.

    Emily2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Murray’s is a magic spot, well fitted out, has a few fun quirky touches and plenty of space. Highly recommendable.

    Matthew2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Murray’s place was amazing! A beautiful peaceful setting with a better than expected river view from the front verandah and lovely green and relaxing backyard with outdoor seating! Neat and clean inside, well appointed kitchen with everything you need (and a great view) and a very comfortable lounge that’s almost a home cinema. Only slight drawback was 3rd bedroom is quite small for two single beds, but this didn’t bother us and was still comfortable. Well heated throughout, and multiple lovely wineries within 5-10 min drive. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

  • We loved our stay and were sad it was only one night, the house is gorgeous inside and has fantastic views. It was lovely and peaceful and the furniture and the whole feel of the place was very comfortable. Our two year old had a ball exploring and climbing up and down the landing stairs and playing with the toys provided, he actually slept through most of the night by himself which he NEVER does when we are away from home. The covered deck outside was a great play and breakfast space. Martha was lovely and very accommodating and great to communicate with. We hope to visit again! Thank you x

There were some stairs inside the house which my father, who is elderly, found a little difficult. But there were spaces he could enjoy on the entry level including room with bathroom and lounge. Windermere Waters is an absolute waterfront holiday destination or a convenient base located only 20 minutes from Launceston’s CBD. Use your stay to relax right on the banks of the Tamar River, tour the historical Windermere Church next door or visit the local vineyards. By staying at Windermere Waters you are in a private parkland setting consisting of a hectare of land and almost a kilometre of Tamar River waterfront.
The home is located within metres of the banks of the Tamar River and at high tide it’s so close to the water you will believe that you are in a cruise liner. The expansive home consists of three double bedrooms all with queen sized beds, a Tasmanian blackwood kitchen with modern appliances, a comfortable family room with 70 inch TV, an expansive lounge and adjoining study with a desk overlooking the water to enjoy the river views while you work. Heating and cooling is provided by three strategically placed reverse cycle air conditions and just for effect there is a two metre long imitation but realistic fire in the lounge room to give you a warm atmosphere to enable you to enjoy the Tasmanian winter. The home is tastefully decorated being recently renovated with new carpet and face lift throughout. The river views from almost every room are breathtaking. There are two large well appointed bathrooms each with double vanities allowing ample space and comfort for up to three couples. Enjoy the wildlife including some friendly ducks, a variety of birds and depending of the time of the year you can see the seals swim by, or even come up on the beach right in front of the balcony. The garden is full of a variety of tress and flowers and depending on the season you will encounter daffodils, tulips and gladioli to name a few.
The area is so quiet that most of the noise you will here is the sound of the waves lapping the beach. The Historic and beautiful Windermere Church sits proudly on our Southern boundary and whilst it has a must see graveyard its inhabitants are ghostly quiet. Farmland is located on the other side of the road and there are no either close by neighbours as the river forms the boundary to the south and west. There is the Windermere Corner Cafe or take away meals are available only 15 minutes away in the Northern suburbs of Launceston.
  • Place is splendid with enormous piece of garden. Owners planted a few fruit trees and amazing River view.

  • This house is huge and spacious and has beautiful views from every room. It is very comfortable and filled with every amenity you can think of for cooking, doing laundry, really a home away from home. There are travel books and guides and information about local tourist destinations provided as well. The hosts were very responsive and answered all of our questions quickly. It was lovely stay and I would definitely request to stay again.
