Snowmobile destination? YES. Located south of Sharbot Lake on the newly created trail running toward Kingston. This is a quaint cottage on a restful lake. The cottage is newly renovated in a industrial/modern style. Extensive windows provide fantastic views. Open concept allows for easy/relaxing entertaining. There is a private boat launch with small creek that runs through the property. Canoes, kayaks, sailboard and paddle boat come with the rental. Pets are welcome.

  • Great views of the lake! James was a great host supplied lots of wood for the fire which is another amazing feature of this location. Would recommend!

  • Stylish space with unique touches that add to the cottage experience. Great views and fully equipped to serve all your needs. Had a wonderful time during my stay. Would highly recommend.

  • James’ place was a perfect getaway during the winter and we hope to come back in the summer. The view from the bedroom is amazing. At night you can see the stars and during the day you have a great view of the lake. The bed and pillows and sheets were very comfortable. The place is private and quiet. The kitchen has all the appliances you need to make your meals and the entire place is very spacious with lots of counter space. There is a large smart TV mounted on the wall in the common area right next to the wood burning fireplace which was extremely cozy to enjoy from the couch. James provides lots of firewood and kindling. You can also control the heat yourself if you don’t feel like making a fire. Our dog loved the place and going out for walks on the lake and there’s more trails and parks nearby. The Cardinal Cafe in town just 5 minutes away had delicious food, baked goods and coffee and great staff and atmosphere. James was an excellent communicator, quick to respond and very accommodating. Highly recommended!

  • Great winter retreat with all the amenities of home.

  • Wonderful stay with such charm and coziness. Lots of wood for the cozy fire enjoyed after a snow shoe around the lake. The pictures of the cottage don’t do justice for the immersion in such tranquility.

  • James is a great host and the cottage is beautiful. We loved using the woodstove, sleeping in the bedroom under the stars and snowshoeing around St Georges Lake. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to go back in the summer!

  • James place was an awesome weekend away - we had wanted a winter getaway and we had the most perfect weekend, it snowed pretty much the whole time we were there, it was right on the lake and has a most peaceful, beautiful view from the kitchen, living room and master bedroom. We walked/snowshoed on the frozen lake multiple times, our dog, Griffin had a terrific time as well - he loves the winter. There was a fireplace and chopped wood to welcome us back and warm us up. There was a town close by for essentials and James was very approachable and a terrific host.

Restored 200+ year old Log Cabin on 200 acre WF farm, with 2000ft WF on spectacular Desert Lake. A natural paradise of true Canadian Shield. One double bed, one King in loft. Full kitchen. 3pc bath(shower) . Very private get-a-way .
DESCRIPTION: It is rare to have private enjoyment of over 200 acres of a waterfront farm with 2,000 feet of spectacular shoreline on pristine Desert Lake. Follow the horse trails through pasture and woods. See trees that have graced this land for hundreds of years unspoilt. This is true Canadian shield country. Bring a compass and a camera. The home is fully equipped for your vacation, four seasons of the year. The home has a sleeping loft with a king size bed and one small main floor bedroom with antique double brass bed. Linens and towels are always cleaned/sterilized off-site after each visit. Open concept kitchen/ dining /cozy living area with a woodstove. The cabin is ideally suited for a couple. However, 4 people- (two couples) can be easily accommodated. Wood is provided free of charge. Extensive rear decking for outside dining in warmer weather plus a wrap around covered porch. Central heating system and air conditioning for year round comfort. Modern appliances, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, stove, coffee maker, electric water kettle, water cooler, BBQ. Amply furnished for the comfort of our guests of 1 to a maximum of 4 people. Flat screen 40inch TV with Blue Ray player and a random assortment of DVDs. Unlimited WIFI access to stay connected to the outside world. Basic condiments, sugars , salt etc. etc. are provided. When staying at the log home you have access to 2000 feet of pristine and private waterfront on Desert Lake with 200 acres of field and forest for hiking and exploring. This is not a campground or resort. You will appreciate a very private time. The exclusive waterfront has a large floating dock with ladders and the water is very clean and exceptional for swimming. (During warm weather). Bring your own kayaks, canoes , boats or use ours. We have two kayaks and a canoe available with paddles and PFDs. If you have a motorized boat, there is a public boat launch about 3 minutes down the road, near Desert Lake Campground where Holleford and Desert Lake intersect. Get in the boats and explore Desert Lake, Mitchell Creek, Birch Lake and Kingsford Lake giving access by water to Frontenac Provincial Park. To access the private waterfront on the farm you can drive or enjoy a 5- 10 minute walk on a very attractive private lane. During the summer there are a few cows and horses on the property grazing on small pasture fields nestled amongst the trees. Most of the farm is pristine Canadian Shield forested terrain, interspersed with pasture. A naturalists delight. This is not a 'run out he back door and jump into the lake' setting. When it was built over 200 years ago, the inhabitants were more concerned about being close to their neighbours rather than an engaging water view. Be prepared to stroll down to the water's edge, or you can drive along the lane to park at the head of a 100 foot trail that takes you down to the 'boat launch' where a large west facing floating dock with a swim ladder is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. Four wheeling and sea-doos are discouraged. Snow mobiles are allowed when there is adequate snow, providing that operators stay on the prescribed trails. Notice is requested in advance from guests bringing snow machines. Desert Lake is one of the largest, cleanest, deepest inland lakes in Eastern Ontario. The lake is approx 4.5 miles long and the deepest spot is 232 feet. The average depth of the lake is 72 feet. Due to the cleanliness of the water and its depth, it makes for one of the premier Lake Trout fishing spots in Southern Ontario. The lake also produces northern pike, large and small mouth bass, yellow perch, crappies and lake herring. For the more adventurous, Birch and Kingsford Lakes can be accessed by a short canoe ride down Mitchell Creek. These lakes offer more wilderness oriented opportunities, like hiking and camping, as they border on Frontenac Park. Frontenac Provincial Park is within a 10 minute drive. The park has numerous hiking trails, dozens of lakes with excellent fishing and an abundance of wildlife. For more information on the park, contact Friends of Frontenac Park. Ten minute drive to Verona, where you will find banking, grocery including LCBO and Beer Store, restaurants, churches, library, medical building , hardware, Farmer’s food outlet ,convenience stores and much more. . Twenty minutes to the north are the quaint little town of Westport where you could spend an afternoon shopping. Also in Westport are two golf courses and one more can be located just north of Verona which is just 10 minutes away.http://www.rivendellgolf.on.ca 40 minutes to the south in Kingston , Amherstview and Camden East, there are several different golf courses. Thirty or more minutes to the south is the beautiful historic City of Kingston, with numerous attractions such as Fort Henry, Bellevue House, Queens University, Royal Military College and Canadian Forces Base Kingston. Please contact Magret for further information and to book your vacation rental.
This is true Canadian shield country in the "land of a thousand lakes". Kingston (population 165,000) is approximately 35 minutes away. Verona, a small town of 500 is approximately 8 to 10 minutes away for the conveniences of gas, grocery, liquor and beer outlet , farmer's food outlet, restaurants, golf course, bank (BMO), medical attention , churches, etc. The renowned Frontenac Provincial Park is less than an 8 minute drive away.
  • Very comfortable and clean. Even better than the photos.

    Greg2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin really takes you back in time and the way it was restored is really impressive. There is so much land to explore, even in winter, you never get bored snowshoeing around. As for accommodation, the king bed in the loft was comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped, with everything you need for cooking ans baking. The bathroom was clean. The wi-fi was really good, we also had access to Netflix and a bunch of DVD's. The communication with Margret was flawless, she responded quickly and gave us great directions to get to the cabin. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, I really recommend this place for a nice getaway.

  • Great cabin in a beautiful location

    David2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Magret's cabin was excellent and we had an amazing time staying there. The photos of the cabin don't do it justice. There was a fire going when we arrived and a welcome gift with a note, which were all lovely touches. We used the snowshoes to walk the trails and see the beautiful landscape. Magret's local tips were spot on and we ended up at food less travelled twice! Loved staying here!

  • Magret is a thoughtful and gracious host. Her lovingly restored cabin was a great place for a winter getaway. We enjoyed snowshoeing on the large acreage as well as at nearby Frontenac Provincial Park. The cabin is clean, cozy and provides everything needed for a restful stay. We sure hope to return.

  • Such a relaxing cottage, looking out over a peaceful lake. Jamie and Annette were super helpful and even offered to take us out on their boat to show us around the lake. There are kayaks and boats and life jackets to borrow to explore the lake. Was amazing to see a beaver, bald eagle, osprey and more.

  • Jamie’s cottage was much better than we expected! The pictures don’t do it justice. Communication was great. If we had any questions, Jamie was quick in responding. The kayaks and outdoor space were awesome! We enjoyed lots of time outdoors. The cottage was cozy & clean & had all that we needed for making meals. My friends and I definitely recommend this cottage!

    Perth Road Village, ON, Canada

Peaceful setting on Stafford Bay. Great for fishing, canoeing, kayaking or just relaxing in the hammock. You can explore the Rideau Canal from Jones Falls to Upper Brewers without locking through. We have 2 canoes and a 2 seat Kayak which you are welcome to use. You can launch your boat from the Main docks at Seeley's Bay or rent one from 2 local marinas.
The cottage is cozy but very functional. We have supplied all the dishes and cookware that you will need and have allowed for storage in the kitchen for your personal supplies. There is a supply of herbs and spices for your use, as well as an herb garden right off the deck. Linens are supplied. Bath tub with shower. The hot tub is there for your use, we monitor and adjust the chemicals for every booking. Washer and dryer are there for your use if needed.
We are on a private road with a maximum speed limit of 20 km /hr We do ask that you respect this limit as there are small children enjoying their properties and exploring the wonders of nature. We are at the end of the cottage road so traffic is minimum, making it a great place for long walks down the road.
  • Procrastination bay is the perfect place to relax and unwind! The scenery is beautiful and peaceful. We loved the coziness of the cottage and the hot tub was an extra bonus. Julie was super lovely to communicate with and the added touches she put in really made our stay extra special. Would highly recommend this place to get away and disconnect from city life.

    Emma2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Julies cottage and hospitality far exceeded my expectations. It was dark when we arrived and to wake up to such and amazing view and location was breathtaking. We definitely plan to return to enjoy the peace and tranquility again. Thanks so much. Mike and Leah.

  • This is the second time we’ve gone to Procrastination Bay. Everything was wonderful, despite the weather being all rain. A quiet solitude away from city life.

    Carla2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, secluded cottage in a gorgeous location. Julie and Andy are extremely organized and have put a lot of effort into making the space a warm and inviting one with lots of special touches. Very comfortable and relaxing!

  • An amazingly beautiful place - so quiet and peaceful! We especially enjoyed the hot tub right outside the door!! Julie always responded quickly, the cottage was clean and comfortable, the views were better than expected!!

    Joy2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cozy place in a serene and peaceful location. Julie was very accommodating and easy to coordinate with, even late at night when an unexpected family emergency had us arriving much later than expected. We wish we had had more time here to get out onto the lake and do more exploring. Would definitely come back :)

    Holly2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Procrastination Bay exceeded our expectations! A little piece of paradise! The tranquility of the surroundings was exactly what we wanted. Great outdoor space. Dogs had a great time swimming and playing in the yard. Kayaking was great! The cabin offers everything you need and the hot tub was amazing!! We will define back!

    Jael2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Julie is the most helpful and friendly host I’ve ever received. Establishes a decorum of polite and engaging conversation to help with any assistance necessary, as well as aiding guests by leaving clear guidance and directions throughout the cottage. She is a super host for a reason. The cottage itself was immaculate upon arrival and the scenery that surrounded it exceeded expectations. Not too mention the beautiful towns and cities nearby that made for a great adventure aside. Highly recommended staying at her procrastination bay.

    Seeley's Bay, ON, Canada

This is a secluded vintage two-bedroom cottage located in 7 acres of land buffered by a 25 acre nature preserve. There is a private swim / picnic area with dock and gorgeous sunset views. Great for swimming, fishing, or relaxing in nature. Kingston, Ontario, is 30-40 minutes away by car. Seeley's Bay is ten minutes away. Melody Lodge is a walk away and provides boat rental, bait, and ice-cream for the family. A canoe is available (free) to explore the beautiful lake.
The cottage has a huge screened-in porch, which is great for family dinners or just soaking in the views. Plenty of wildlife to be seen. The single beds in one room convert to a king-sized bed. Check out The Rest, which is down the road and also a great place to stay.
There are two other cottages on the property, but all three have a great deal of privacy.
  • My wife, 8-year old son, and 6-year old daughter and I (plus our dog...a 10-year old sheltie) stayed at Elbow View the week straddling the end of July/start of August, 2019. Overall I have to say we had a fantastic time. James and Anne were absolutely fantastic hosts. They were both very quick to respond to questions or to fix minor issues (e.g., when we first arrived the water wasn’t working, we told Anne and then Jame’s fixed it immediately (it was back on in less than 10 minutes)). They were both extremely friendly and their daughter spent a lot of time playing with our kids. The cottage itself is a bit rustic; however, that is not necessarily a negative. In my case it is a positive as it is exactly the type of cottage I like to stay at (I.e., as opposed to a ‘house’ that happens to be in the woods and on the water). It has a huge screened in porch with a large table and seating for 16 (and more chairs would fit). We spent a lot of time hanging out on the porch and ate almost all our meals out there. Down by the water there is a great fire pit area. It reminds me of the type of fire pits with a dock and a canoe in the background that you see in magazines as a ‘typical cottage experience’. There was also a small sandy beach area that the kids really liked playing at. The dock at Elbow View was ideal for the kids to fish for pan fish (they practically just had to drop a hook with a worm in the water and they would within seconds catch a small blue gill or rock bass). There was a canoe and paddle boat and Anne and James offered us use of their kayaks (which we didn’t end up using but the option was certainly there). A ten minute walk from the cottage is Melody Lodge where I was able to rent a 14’ aluminium boat with an outboard motor. The kids and I went fishing in it once or twice a day and I was able to moor it at the dock at Elbow View. Just down the driveway there is another cottage (also owned by Anne and James) with playground equipment (monkey bars, swings, climbing wall, zip line, ninja line, and a kids club house with a slide). Our kids loved hanging out there. There was also tons of wildlife (deer, raccoons, porcupines, wild turkey, otter, swans, geese, and squirrels). There is also a family of beaver that we kept our eyes open for but never did see them. At night we could hear coyotes howling in the distance and owls hooting in the nearby trees. There were a couple of minor negatives. The stairs leading down from Elbow View to the fire pit/dock area are a bit steep. There are hand rails so we were all able to navigate them fine but if someone has mobility issues this would not be the cottage for them. Second, the area out from the dock was a little bit weedy (it kept me from using my favourite jerk bait lures right off the dock as they would get caught in weeds if cast out too far) but the area right next to the dock was free of weeds so it did not detract from going in the water for a swim (off the end of the dock the water depth was about five to six feet deep). Neither of these things bothered us. In a nutshell, if you like things a little bit rustic (without being too rustic) I highly recommend staying at this cottage.

  • This listing offers an amazing cabin-in-the-woods experience. The place is absolutely beautiful which includes the trees, the wildlife, and the lake. The lake is very well stocked with fish. We really appreciated the private access to water and the chance to explore the lake on the canoe (provided). The listing includes a large screened and roofed patio. With the shadow of the trees and the gentle breeze, it was very useful for the hot summer days and evenings. I am looking forward to a return visit, potentially to explore a different season.

    Mikhail2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great long weekend stay at Elbow View! The cottage is very private and quiet, and had everything we needed away from home. Although we didn't meet the hosts, they were very friendly and helpful in their quick responses. We were able to rent a boat from Melody Lodge (a short walk from the cottage) which allowed us to do some great fishing and explore the lake. Would definitely recommend this cottage!

    Emilie2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, and very private location. We used the kayak, canoe and paddleboat provided (a nice surprise!) to explore the lake and were blessed with good weather. A very classic, basic 60s/70s cabin – we liked the old school charm. Thank you for having us!

    Heather2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, very relaxing!

    Jessica2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Elbow View is an amazing space on a beautiful, private corner of a small bay. The dock is a wonderful place to spend a day enjoying the peace and quiet. The cottage has everything you could need to prepare meals, is filled with an amazing assortment of books, and the screen porch would be wonderful with a large group or on a rainy day. We loved that we could bring our cats and have a true family getaway. While there is no internet, that serves as a positive, as there is cell service and you can otherwise just escape for awhile. This place is a gem. Overall, we loved our stay here and will be back as soon as possible!

  • Would 100% stay again! When we walked in the door, the cabin was incredibly clean, decorated nicely, and smelled really nice. All of the amenities that you could need were there, without the place feeling overcrowded. Full kitchen, hot tub was quite nice! The back of the cottage on the lake would be extra nice in the summer time. Comfy soft beds, well decorated sheets, and even an HDMI chord to plug your laptop in and watch a show. The futon was quite comfortable too. Highly recommended!!! Every detail that could be thought of felt like they had already thought of it!

  • Such a beautiful cottage. Perfect for a weekend away! Hosts were amazing to deal with especially when we accidentally locked ourselves out. We hope to come return again in the Summer.

  • Beautiful spot with great views of the lake. The interior is very tastefully decorated and is even cuter in person than in the photographs. The master bedroom with king size beg with lake view and balcony was awesome, kitchen had everything you would need, shower worked well with good water pressure. We went in the winter which was nice as we curled up by the fire and enjoyed the hot tub at night while the snow was falling. I can see how it would be an absolutely beautiful place in summer and fall as well.

    Dana2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Got in on the Friday evening and was offered an early check-in. Hot tub in the winter was a huge plus! Was very nice and relaxing. I love that its pet friendly, great get away with your fury friends. Was very nice that they had condiments, spices , oil etc. Made it alot easier than having to pack all that for a short weekend. Nice fire place in the living room. I would definitely look forward to renting this in the summer with the lake being there, out door fire and the extra cabin. Bigger than it looks in pictures. Quick responses as well. Thanks again for a nice stay!

The Frontenac is modern waterfront cabin, professionally designed to be more than the traditional cottage. Take in the view of a private bay on Thirty Island Lake as you enjoy hotel-style amenities including a contemporary kitchen & bathroom plus Endy mattresses in every bedroom. • This space was incredible! It was clean, stylish, and had everything needed for a great weekend getaway with friends.

  • We had an amazing time at Michael’s place for our winter getaway! Very well styled, super clean, and very cozy. Great views of the lake and lots of privacy from neighbouring properties! Would 100% stay again and recommend to others. Secure this cottage in summer and you’ll be guaranteed an epic trip!

  • Amazing place for a weekend getaway, even in the winter! Michael was super quick to respond to all of our messages and the cottage was stocked with everything we needed.

    Amanda2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is just perfect for a family getaway. The place is very stylish and we loved the mix of modern and vintage pieces. The place had a beautiful outdoor fire pit and deck for lounging - even in the winter! We also loved the outdoor sauna - a nice touch for a winter stay. The secluded setting made for lovely day hikes and a ski on the lake. We had a truly enjoyable stay. Definitely would like to come back. Thank you Michael and Paul!

    Laura2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my friends (10 of us) had a great time at the Frontenac! It really is as beautiful as the pictures make it out to be, and I can imagine in summer it's absolutely gorgeous as well. We loved playing some records from the collection available. The ambiance at dinner time was that much more perfect. Beds were very comfortable. The space was large enough for all of us to be together at once, or to split up and not feel crowded. Although, if we had been 12 adults, it would've been very tight for eating and sleeping arrangements. Sound definitely does carry easily inside the house (difficult for those needing to sleep earlier than others). Michael made the check in super-easy and was incredibly responsive. The location is great - we did not get to explore Frontenac Provincial Park but went to a different conservation area for cross-country skiing. The sauna is amazing and the view of the lake is beautiful! I hope I have the chance to return again one day! Thank you Michael for your help while booking and during the weekend!

    Camilla2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Frontenac was more than I expected! Beautiful decorations, plenty of space, lots of games and things to do. We had the best time and would definitely come back.

    Jayne2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place was everything we were hoping for and more. I had booked with my friends, 12 adults a toddler and 2 dogs. First off, let me say that the entire home is incredibly beautiful and very comfortable to stay in. The kitchen belongs in a magazine and the main floor bathroom was incredible. We spent 2 nights there and had absolutely no reason to leave the property other than to walk the dogs. We played some intense games of ping pong, watched some pepper pig on netflix and followed that with a horror movie. The place has many areas where you can escape a large group to find some solitude but also many spots to gather round and breakout some board games. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and hope to come back in the summer some time as I imagine it's incredible then as well. Big thank you to Michael for replying within the hour and being such a great host!

    Vinoth2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic cottage! Great space for a large group and it has everything you could need. The host was responsive and helpful! He even unlocked the house remotely when we locked ourselves out! Planning to return again soon.

The Bunkie, built in the late 50s as a hunting cabin and extensively renovated through the years, sits southward on the peak of one of Dog Lake’s many bays. The Bunkie is a place to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. It’s a place to read, swim, paddle, or fish away the afternoon. It’s a place to enjoy an outdoor shower at the end of the day and gather around a fire, a board game, or a movie in the evening. It’s a place to create wonderful memories with friends and family.
We are a 5 minute drive to The Creekside Bar & Grill and The Manor Restaurant in Battersea, and beautiful Gilmour Beach. The Glenburnie Grocery, Lavalee’s Cookery, Home Hardware / LCBO, and Ormsbee Mercantile are local merchants for all your grocery needs. Kingston is 25 minutes away where you’ll find dining, shopping, and a thriving downtown and nightlife. Dog Lake is part of the World Heritage Rideau Canal waterway. By boat you can explore the many lakes, locks, and even boat into downtown Kingston, the base of Rock Dunder, or Seeley’s Bay.
  • The view is amazing. Beautiful place. I love the theme in the bunkie. Great value.

    Akshata2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this bunkie by the lake had to be one of our best experience in Canada. An excellent place for a weekend getaway away from the hustle bustle of the city. The area was very peaceful with the lake on one side and beautiful pathways covered by trees and greenery on the other. The bunkie itself was very cozy and definitely gave a unique stay feel. The outdoor shower was a lovely and refreshing experience. Laura and Craig are very sweet hosts and it was very thoughtful of them to have arranged a box of toys and story books for our little one. It kept him engaged throughout our stay and he immediately fell in love with the cute collection of books. We will definitely visit again when we're back in town and would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a unique experience.

    Taimoor2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We fell in love for The Bunkie ! a lovely cabin right on a lake where you can get disturbed only by a loon or the brightness of the moon... granit is not on countertops, it’s the rocks around and down to the water... the composition of recycled windows and doors matched the poetry of the site... rustic, but everything is there and very clean ! Thank you, we hope we can come back on an other Canadian visit !

    Hervé2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Much better than expected and even the expectations were high. You are completely in the nature and has from the apartment a great view of the trees and the lake. The cottage has many small details, such as a music collection with a good music system or a DVD collection and many books. Bathing in the lake, canoeing and outdoor showers were also great experiences. For all nature lovers this cabin will be a dream, we highly recommend it!

    Endres2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience through AirBnB. Laura and Craig were so friendly and helpful! The bunkie was comfortable and accommodating with most amenities. I would definitely recommend this stay for a nice, quiet and scenic getaway.

The kitchen is fully equipped for simple meals or gourmet feasts. Includes essential ingredients (spices, salt, pepper, olive oil, teas, coffee) and all the tools you need.
The farm is located a 2 minute drive from the charming fishing village of Battersea. There is a restaurant and the Holiday Country Manor that serve food. The Loughborough marina is a 3 minute drive away. Dog Lake, where you can swim and picnic is about a 5 minute drive. • I was looking for a quiet and calm place to write and this was perfect. Joan is a delightful host, the house is clean, comfortable and as all the other reviews mentioned, has everything you need to cook, relax, etc. Take advantage of the wisdom of the herd! The house faces away from Joan's own house so it feels private and cozy, with a fabulous view of the field of horses and the occasional family of deer. Will definitely be returning for my next writing retreat.

    Shoshana2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Joan's place is serene. A remodeled stone cottage with great taste and features. Joan is a wonderful and attentive host. We chose this place because of the possibility to be around horses as my wife really loves. It was a magical experience spending time with them seeing they are therapeutic horses. If you want to reconnect with yourself, a significant other, or mother nature, spending time here at Joan's place you will surely recharge your batteries and feel zen again.

    Milos2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique and lovely place to stay. Meeting the horses was incredible, Joan was very kind and accommodating. The space was sparkling clean and very cozy with everything we needed!

  • What a paradise! My wife and I were looking for a weekend away from the day to day life that we so often get consumed by. This beautiful place offered absolutely everything you could possibly imagine. It is beautifully appointed with a rustic feel, extremely clean and has a modern kitchen that offers everything you may need to prepare yourself gourmet meals. The location itself is quiet and has beautiful landscape to look at and admire. Joan is dedicated to make sure your stay is what you want it to be. She is passionate about her beautiful therapeutic horses. She offered us time with these amazing animals and we greatly appreciated it. The time we spent with the horses was truly a wonderful and rewarding experience. Joan’s place is highly recommended by us and we look forward to another visit.

    Chris2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

Small and cozy bunkie on Sydenham lake. A lovely little couples retreat for relaxing and enjoying a private lakeside getaway.
The small bunkie is steps from the water’s edge. It has its own dock for swimming and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. A barbeque for cooking is provided and there is an outdoor camping toilet and privy tent. Close to all village amenities.
Enjoy all that lake life has to offer, but with the conveniences of a grocery store, restaurants, liquor store, public beach and Trousdale’s gift shop all within 3 minutes from this private location. Downtown Kingston is just a 25 minute drive away.
  • Natasha’s place is great getaway for a few days to recharge and connect with nature. The place has everything you need, is clean and very comfortable bed. We will book for sure again for summer time ! Thanks Natasha for everything!

  • My partner and I had the most lovely night to celebrate our anniversary. It was a perfect getaway, and so cute! Natasha is one of the best hosts we’ve experienced with AirBnb!

    Claudia2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little campsite with a tiny cabin on the water. I loved the tiny fireplace and hanging lights. You definitely feel like you're away from it all.

    Travis2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Natasha's cabin was so cute and perfect little getaway to unplug. So close to the water and has everything you need! Will for sure be back! :)

  • What an lovely and private little gateway! It feels like you're alone in the nature in front of the lake and they thought of everything you would need. It is still a cabin experience, but you couldn't get more confortable than that in a setup like this. Very romantic too.

    Ian2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The experience is unique. The bedding is comfortable and we have the feeling of sleeping in the middle of the forest. I have never seen a toilet with such a beautiful view. The shower is taken in the lake. It is a real campsite in a charming corner. We went in late September, the stay was bearable. But be careful to be covered at bedtime because we feel the freshness of the morning in the shed. There is everything you need to cook and the brazier is very enjoyable at the end of the evening by the lake. Natasha is very welcoming and smiling. It has been a pleasure to meet her. It is an accommodation that I highly recommend if you want to live an unusual experience.

    Caroline2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful and quiet place. Everything you need was provided by Natasha. We enjoyed staying there.

  • Stella’s place was exactly as advertised, although the property was even lovelier than I expected. Quiet reprieve from the city with beautiful landscapes surrounding a quaint, and rather unique rental. Well stocked large kitchen with comfortable living space (suitable for up to five people). Lots of locally made products (vinegars, eggs, honey, etc) available for purchase within walking distance, certainly an added treat! Great communication from host - highly recommend!

    Angela2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience! We will definitely return. The cabin was clean, cozy and had everything we could have needed. The farm store below had fresh eggs and warm sourdough bread for sale (not to mention all sorts of other homemade treats!). The trails along the lake were beautiful and the sounds and sights of the farm were very charming. Lovely, accommodating hosts, an easy check in (and out), exceptional communication and the friendliest dog to greet us. Highly recommend.

    Cait2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable, cozy cabin, gorgeous property with lots of beautiful trails to explore as well as beautiful horses and kune-kune pigs to visit on the property. Gemma, the dog, is very friendly and playful! The sun both sets and rises over the lake and the views are beautiful!

    Tanya2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem. Remote but easy to find even without a GPS. Just follow the signs. The cabin has a great warm rustic touch and is completely modern functions. The property is a cute working farm. Lovely to walk around even in the snow to see the horses, pigs and chickens. Very friendly tour guide the family dog. Looking forward to coming back again. Thank you.

    Becky2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Orchard was wonderful. We enjoyed the quiet, spent a lot of time wandering the property with Gemma (the dog) and visiting the horses. Stella's cabin was as expected for a farm get away and we stocked up at the farm store on preserves, eggs and chicken. Lovely experience.

    Laura2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a great property with picturesque views of the lake and orchard. The cabin is cozy and warm with everything you’d need to enjoy some R&R in the country. The farm fresh eggs, organic sourdough bread and amazing apple honey that you can purchase on premise made our stay even more special.

Completely renovated 1940's Lakeside Cottage on beautiful 13 Island Lake, literally steps from the water. Perfect for a romantic getaway. 1 bedroom and open sleeping loft, kitchen with all the amenities, spa bathroom with soaker tub and separate shower. Explore the lake by canoe or cuddle up on the covered porch and listen to the loons.
Our Name is Czychun, but Tucker's Place has been a landmark on 13 Island Lake forever. Long standing residents of South Frontenac know the property as Tucker's Place and we honoring local history by keeping the name for our cottage. Completely renovated 1940's Lakeside Cottage, and by lakeside we mean exactly 25 feet from the lake shore, dock , canoes, water craft, swimming dock and crystal clear water. Enjoy stunning sunrises and sunsets while listening to the call of the loons on the dock or one of two decks. And although we can just about provide everything you need, sometimes rain must fall. In that case, simply curl up on the covered porch and watch the rain gently fall on the beautiful waters of 13 Island Lake. We renovated this cottage with you in mind. We enjoy the peace and quiet of 13 Island Lake daily and having spent most of our lives in the busy city, we know how much you need this cottage to unwind and rejuvenate. We have provided all or more than the comforts of home, including a completely outfitted kitchen overlooking the lake, a bathroom fit for a spa with a deep soak bathtub and a separate shower, a hotel style bedroom with private views of the woods surrounding the cottage, or a cozy sleeping loft. Open concept kitchen/ cozy living area and lovely main floor bedroom, both with electric fireplaces. The cabin is ideally suited for a couple. However, 4 people- (two couples) can be accommodated. PLEASE NOTE: We have opened the cottage up for the month of Oct 1-16th. The dining area is located on the screened in porch. The cottage is compact inside but we will supply something in order for you to dine inside if the nights are chilly. PLEASE NOTE: The cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway for two and has a main floor bedroom, however, there is additionally a queen bed in the open sleeping loft. The loft has low peaked ceilings, is accessible by stairs and is surrounded by wrought iron railings. The cottage is located at the end of a private lane and although the cottage is nestled in the trees, we are located just down the lane to provide you with anything that you may need, to make your stay-cation perfect. You are also conveniently located just 10 mins from Verona and 40 mins from Kingston, although you just might not want to leave ever! As you can see from our photos, the cottage is located directly on the waterfront and you have easy access to the lake to swim, fish and explore by canoe. We have a canoe available with paddles and PFDs at no extra charge. Please remember to take the lifejackets and emergency water kit in the canoe with you. PLEASE NOTE: The cottage is located to the right of a naturalized marsh with beautiful water lilies and other flowering vegetation that makes this a haven for wildlife such as turtles, frogs, blue herons, kingfishers, bald eagles, osprey, beavers, bass. perch, sunfish, etc. Due to an exceptionally hot spring, early summer and nesting bass, the lakeside is a little weedy starting about 6 feet from the sandy shore. The water is only about 3ft at the dock. The swimming platform is located in deeper water and flotation devices or canoes can take you there easily for swimming. Fluffy Bath towels, beach towels, comfy bedding and plentiful pillows are provided. If you are staying for a week or longer, additional towels and bedding will be provided. The best part of visiting a cottage is outdoor living and balmy nights. We have provided wood free of charge for the outdoor firepit and ask that when you are finished, to ensure that the fire is completely out before going in for the night. 2 outside decks and a covered screened in porch provide areas to enjoy the outdoors. The screened in porch does not have close-able windows. The cottage is heated and the main bedroom is air- conditioned. Modern appliances, including microwave, fridge, stove, coffee maker, electric water kettle, water cooler, toaster and Weber BBQ are there for you to enjoy. There is a Flat screen 40inch TV with complimentary Netflix account set up and ready to use. We do provide Satelite Internet for the cottage. Please note that it is not unlimited and we ask that you practise fair use by not downloading multiple movies etc. You can of course use the internet for normal activities like browsing, emails, Netflix etc. Most cell phones have excellent service at the cottage.
You are also conveniently located just 10 mins from Verona and 40 mins from Kingston, although you just might not want to leave ever! You can also access the public beach on Desert Lake. We are located close to Frontenac Provincial Park and Rivendell Golf Course.
  • This space was beautiful and was such a welcome retreat from busy city life. It had all the amenities of home but with the perfect cottage feel. Patti and Rob were excellent hosts with thoughtful welcoming gifts. I would highly recommend a stay here. Hope to be back again next season!

  • When my husband and I were planning a weekend away last year (2018), we were looking for something very specific. It had to be secluded (if we could see neighbours, it wasn't secluded enough), romantic, luxurious yet comfortable (without feeling like someone's home) and on water. Oh, and within our very limited budget. I honestly thought we were looking for something that didn't exist--the unicorn of cottages--but then we found Tucker's Place. We fell in love with it the moment we walked through the door, so much so that we booked this year's getaway (2019) while we were still there. This year's stay was every bit as wonderful as last year's, and we have every intention of coming back next year.

    Laura2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. Right from the start we were welcomed. Loved the experience and the local treats. The view was amazing. Next time we will definitely stay longer. It wasn’t long enough.

    Sill2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Pattis place. The space is beautifully designed with all the thoughtful extra touches that make you feel welcome. We had the lake practically to ourselves and had great fun taking the canoe out.

    Holly2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful relaxing stay. The cottage was so much more than we were expecting. So clean and cozy. Patti is so welcoming. She made our stay extra special with all the thoughtful treats such as s'mores kits for our evening bonfire. Wine for a nice relaxing evening. And fancy soaps and bath bombs for a relaxing bath in the large spa tub. We felt so spoiled. We have already recommended Tucker's Place to family. We are planning on staying again next summer.

    Veronica2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Patti is the ultimate host. Quick responses prior to arriving, directions and local suggestions for last minute supplies were crystal clear. The place was absolutely perfect with thoughtful touches all over the place. It was sparking clean, and we had everything we needed for a weekend away from the city. Patti checked in with us right away, and made sure we had everything we needed. The location was quiet from all other cottages and perfect to relax and enjoy the view from the dock. We will be back!

Our Little Blue Cottage is an amazing spot, just outside the quaint village of Westport. The cottage sleeps 6 with room for 4 more in the Bunkie, which is fully equipped with satellite TV, and a breathtaking view from both the bed and new queen pullout couch. This cottage is meant for a crowd - the space is abundant and the tables both inside and out have room for 10. Enjoy making some memories from around the fire, enjoy your morning coffee from the screened in porch or the end of the dock...
Lots of space for your family and friends, close to amenities for groceries, LCBO, restaurants, shops and live entertainment. The beach and a playground are close by or try out the canoe, paddleboat or let the kids have a try on the kayaks....enjoy coffee on the dock, or in the screened in porch and roast a marshmallow or two at the campfire. For those rainy days there is satellite and WIFI in the cottage and Bunkie, board games and lots of room to get comfy with a book. Upper Rideau lake is part of the Rideau Canal and famous for its fishing, and the ability to cruise endlessly. You could spend your afternoons exploring the neighbouring towns or catch dinner. Let your vacation start at the Little Blue Cottage.

  • There really isn’t much I can add to all the previous reviews, this place is absolutely fantastic! We were a group of eight adults and two children and there was lots of space for all of us to eat, chat, and play together for our entire stay. The pictures and description are 100% accurate, and in many ways the pictures don’t do it justice. The town of Westport is a short walk away with lots of shops to explore, and all the basics you’ll need (with a few added treats at the bakery!). Many thanks to Amanda for being such a great host, all in our group had an amazing stay and can’t wait to come back again.

  • We had a truly wonderful stay at the little blue cottage! The location and view are incredible, and you can’t beat the early morning sunsets - well worth waking up for! Beautiful place to stay.

  • If you want a cottage location that offers both the convenience of the local town of Westport as well as the serenity of the calm end of the Upper Rideau Lake, then look no further. The property itself was a wonderful size and allowed the kids and adults alike the space to run around and have fun on land. The cottage and bunkie were very well maintained, clean and ready for you to move in and make it home for your stay. I don't think there is much more you can ask for for a Cottage Country vacation - thanks!

The bed was comfortable and we especially loved the indoor fireplace. Lots of local tips and suggestions for outdoors activities from John and Elizabeth. Would book again, anytime of the year!!

  • Very clean, detailed hosts, nice pond in the area, lots of included amenities, the wood stove is also very nice. There is central heat and ventilation.

    Seung-Hun2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • John & Elizabeths cottage is immaculate, stocked with the essentials (and more!); located in a serene and naturally beautiful environment. Our stay was very easy due to the helpful notebook, which outlines everything one might need to know about the cottage. There was lots to do both indoors and out, and we felt very comfortable and cosy during our stay. Thank you!

    Auden2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We again enjoyed our stay in your beautiful cottage. The ping pong table and the basement is our favorite. The location is perfect and the living room is so cozy! Really well decorated, feels like home! See you again soon!

  • A fantastic place to stay. It's plenty of space for a large group (although we were only three). The wood stove was a big hit with us.

  • We all had a great experience at John’s cottage. We booked it for 5 nights and we all enjoyed a lot. The lake was fantastic for swimming & fishing. Thank you John and we will revisit again.

    Arup2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very nice neighbors

    Ed2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is an amazing escape from the city. The lake is beautiful for swimming there is a fire pit for night time relaxing and there is enough space in the cottages to have meals together and play games indoors (we were a group of 7). We had some really bad weather (a tornado warning) and really high winds which caused hard slamming of one of the cabin doors. There was a little damage to one of the doors and John was very understanding and kind when i informed him. John also repsonds very quickly which helped to ease my anxiety over the door being slightly damaged, allowing me to continue enjoying my time there. There is no wifi or service which can be really nice to be off grid for a weekend. I do suggest you bring some kitchen items (Sharp knives for cutting, garbage bags, paper towel, tongs, serving spoons, etc.) But there are utensils, cooking items, and plates available, along with some other useful items. As seen in previous reviews, the neighbours can be a little obnoxious, but not in any way that would make you not enjoy your time there. I would definitely come back again!! We all had a blast!

    Sasha2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, awesome neighbor,(Gordon and family) they took us out on a boat tour when he saw that my boat was not working ,always willing to help out. have a couple of photos to see how beautiful the cottages were and water was so nice and clear, will hopefully send them out soon, only thing was no bbq and poor wifi, but we took our own BBQ and were on vacation ,so who needs WIFI, just outside about an half our there is a nice little place called the social club were you can get free WIFI and enjoy a coffee at the same time ,if you still want to be connected to the world again thanks John for a nice greeting when we arrived and for a beautiful vacation

    Ed2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the lake view! The place was clean and neat, and John was very friendly and helpful.

    Zhiyue2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful relaxing few days at Johns cabin! John was a fantastic host, responding promptly and was very understanding and flexible. The cabins are perfectly rustic, just what we hoped for! Lovely view on the small quiet bay. We caught a 34" pike and a 19" small mouth, so a good lake for fishing! We adored the screen porch on the bigger cabin as it rained some so we had a place to keep dry and still enjoy the view. Highly recommend Johns cabins. Thanks for sharing them with us! S&J

    Jodi2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic lake cottage living. Dynamite fishing, great nature and seclusion. There are people next door but you would never know they are there. There is a well that may be potable but we brought all our own drinking water. The water to the house is right out of the lake via a pump that worked perfectly. The hot water in both cottages did not work OR we could not figure out how to turn it on. We had access to both cottages which was huge for my kids. I thought I was signing up for one. We will definitely be back.

  • Alex's home is just like the photos, the check-in process was extremely easy. The property itself is stunning, and has lots of character. Alex left notes with instructions and two binders. One binder explains how to use the amenities (fireplaces, fans etc.), and explains the history of the property. The second binder includes must visit locations, food menus, etc. I would highly recommend this property. Thank you Alex for the wonderful hospitality!

  • I really like this lovely and warm house. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. The lovely host has thought about the fire of the fireplace before arriving. I feel warm at home. I like the lovely host. I also prepared a puzzle, although we only stayed for one night. But we still finished the puzzle. Hope to see this puzzle on the wall next time I go to your house. Haha

  • We rented this place while down in Westport for a hockey tournament, and it was a great stay! Our host was there to answer any questions, and there was lots of room for the 8 of us! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested! You are attached to someone else's place, but as long as you keep the noise to a reasonable level, there are no issues. Thank you Alex!

  • Sharon's cottage along Dog Lake was simple, sweet, and completely relaxing. We pulled up to our beautiful cottage and soaked in the beautiful view. Inside had everything we needed, and was the perfect get away to unplug and truly unwind. The Lake is perfect for canoing, kayaking, and swimming. There are loads of adventures to be had, whether or not you're avid outdoorsmen. We'll definitely be returning to this oasis.

  • Great stay at Sharon in this beautiful cottage at the edge of a lake, all in simplicity. Exotic and exactly the image we have of Canada.

    Benoit2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Sharon's cabin. It was very private, despite having cabins nearby, and incredibly quiet and peaceful. We loved taking the canoe out on the water, and the fire pit was lovely, with wildflowers and the water all around. Sharon was also extremely helpful and accommodating even after our stay, helping us retrieve some forgotten luggage. We highly recommend staying here!

    Sandy2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Margie was a fantastic host - very good communicator- always answered messages in a timely manner and she provided excellent tips on what's nearby the area to explore. My boyfriend and I came up for a couple days, weather was ideal, calm waters to enjoy their paddle boat and canoed a small distance to the local beach off the adjoining lake. Afterwards hiked through part of the Trans Canada Trail located right behind the RV. Place had all amenities you can expect at any campsite, plus some and a really great view of the sunrise from the lake. Very nice trip overall, peaceful and quiet - would definitely recommend.👍👍

  • My friends and I stayed at Katherine’s cottage for a weekend. It was easy to find. Very well taken care of and had everything we needed in terms of appliances. Besides all this, the best thing about this place is the view from the living room. We got there late at night. I woke up very early the next morning with the sound of my friends shouting out of excitement from seeing the mesmerizing view of the lake and the forest around it. That image will stay with me for a long time. I would very much recommend this place to my friends and family looking for a gorgeous gateway.

    Ahad2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage! Stunning drive to it. Amazing views. Perfect getaway!

    Jacqueline2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage with a stunning view to get away from it all. Clean, well-equipped, and very cozy! katherine and Maciek were always available to answer the questions we had. All in all we had a wonderful stay at the cottage.

    Sébastien2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Katherine and Maciek's cottage for Thanksgiving weekend as a party of six. The cottage is spacious: it includes additional sleeping space in a separate guest house that we did not have to use. The house seems newly renovated- extremely clean and tastefully decorated- an open concept space with amazing views over the lake and surrounding wooded area. The photographs don't give it justice. The kitchen is well equipped- we were able to cook the turkey with all the trimmings quite comfortably. The house itself is situated on a private, large lot with lots of well maintained outdoor space with multiple sitting areas- lots of space for everyone to relax as a group or to find a quiet moment to read or just to enjoy the view. The location is perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities- a walking distance from an entrance to Frontenac park with extensive network of walking trails- truly a hiker's paradise. A combination of quiet side roads and Cataraqui Trail makes up a scenic and safe 45 k biking loop right off the cottage doorstep. And, of course swimming and canoeing in the summer. This cottage is perfect for an outdoor enthusiast any time of the year. The hosts were super easy to reach and accommodating. Thank you Katherine and Maciek for sharing your home with us. We had an amazing time and we are hoping to return soon.

    Anna2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The photos of the cottage accurately reflect the space, and we were all impressed with its cleanliness and comfort. The hosts were very responsive to questions leading up to, and during our stay. My nephew enjoyed his first fishing experience from the dock catching (and releasing) several small fish! Extensive trails in the provincial park are within a short walk so it's a great location for the casual and experienced hiker and the park is just across the lake affording a beautiful view.

    Paulette2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, amazing views, close to a park trails. Great place to relax.

    Marta2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine & Maciek were very quick to respond to our questions both before and during our stay. The view of the lake from the main dining/living hall of the cottage was gorgeous, and the space was very well furnished. Our group of 8 had more than enough space to eat, socialize, and relax inside and outside the cottage.

    Calvin2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Place is accurate to photos. You don't need to bring anything except for clothes, bed/bath linens and food. place is perfect to bring a small aluminum boat and motor.

The cottage sits on a hill overlooking pristine Draper lake. It is a small spring fed lake with no public access point so it is very peaceful Sheets - three queens and a double Most people bring their own sheets pillow cases and towels, we can provide those items but there is a $75 charge.
  • The place is amazing. Wonderful view of the lake and a quick walk down to your private dock. Using the canoe was a nice touch and a perfect way to emphasize the true exclusivity of the area

  • Rustic, secluded and set in an amazing location. Lake is incredibly tranquil and even has a resident beaver. The house is spacious, fully stocked and even the balcony has a complete insect screen which makes it ideal for breakfast with a spectacular view. The woodwork of the balcony is very creative and unique. Jamie and Annette were very hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.

  • Perfect spot to unwind and relax. A very unique setting nestled up in the woods. The cottage is rustic, clean and beautifully designed. Jamie is a wonderful host with a stunning property. Would highly recommend.

  • Fantastic place. Screened porch overlooking the lake and your own dock, gazebo, fire pit and canoes just down the hill. Fantastic hosts.

    Carrie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint cottage with an amazing view of the lake! A great place to disconnect and surround yourself in nature. The lake is pristine with lots of fishing opportunities or just exploring in a canoe (provided). Jamie and Annette are great hosts, friendly and helpful. The cottage has an awesome enclosed exterior porch, perfect for breakfasts or just getting cozy during a rainfall. Would definitely come back! Thanks Jamie & Annette!

  • We had a great stay at the cottage. The place was clean and very comfortably furnished, with a beautiful view of the lake from the porch. Would definitely book again for a peaceful weekend.

  • Had such a blast with my husband at Jamie’s cottage! Caught many fishes and saw many snakes one was even swimming! Jamie and his wife were kind enough to offer us a boat ride and it was amazing. Although the cottage was a bit big for only 2 people, I’d still come back next year & hopefully bring my son! The cottage was a bit hard to find during the night and there is no reception if you get lost. They do not have wifi or good signal but that what makes everything better especially when you’re out in the woods, gives you time to focus on the nature and the company around you. The beds were also very comfy!

    Kash2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jamie’s cottage was awesome! We had the chance to do a boat tour with him and an amazing bonfire night! We will have such good memories. The view is really nice and the place really quiet. Definitely recommend the cottage!

This two-bedroom vintage cottage is located on Cranberry Lake and offers great swimming, boating, fishing (tackle available), and wildlife. There is a playground for the kids in view of the kitchen window. When the nights are cool, there is a fireplace. Canoes/kayaks are available (free!) to explore the beautiful lake / canal. Check out our other cottage, Elbow View, if you need even more space.
This cottage has an open concept design with kitchen and living room together. There are great lake and sunset views from the cottage. There is one queen bed in one of the bedrooms, the rest are single beds. Paths lead to a private fire pit and swim area. We have any life jackets to use as well as water toys to borrow (canoes, kayaks, SUP, paddle boat).
There are only two other cottages on the 7-acre property. The land is buffered by a land preserve, which makes it very secluded. This is the place to come for the Canadian experience. We even have a family of beavers that recently moved in.
  • We had a lovely time staying at the Rest. The view out the window was fantastic; we saw a beaver swim across the lake as we arrived. The cabin was very comfortable. We loved the stereo and music options and the range of games. We enjoyed canoeing and swimming in the lake. James offered the use of kayaks but we didn’t have time to use them unfortunately. We would love to return.

    Emma2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Rest is a beautiful and peaceful property. The cabin is clean and adorable. The beds are firm but comfy with lovely bedding. The kitchen has everything you need. The canoe and paddles are well loved and work perfectly. The lake is great for kayaking or canoeing and fishing (which we did not do). Definitely a swimmable lake but weedy so if you don’t like swimming in weeds I would recommend bringing a SUP board or some floaties. There is a BBQ that works great, there are fans in both bedrooms which were very helpful in the hot weather. There is a 5 disc CD changer and a book of CDs. We really enjoyed Anne’s mixes!! There is a great fire pit as well. Thank you very much James and Anne! We had a wonderful time!

    Krista2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a place deep in lake country and incredibly quiet. The cottage is beautiful and quaint but also fully equipped. Would come back here in a heartbeat.

    Roger2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Rest is a relaxing cozy vintage style cottage close to the lake. You have the beautiful view of the lake from west and south exposures. Surrounding area is woods and lake and you can enjoy canoeing and kayaking, swimming, fishing in the lake and enjoy watching the nature and greenwood at the same time. There are fishing hooks , canoe and kayak and life jackets belonging to the cottage for use. there is also a playground close by the cottage for the kids with a mini zip-line and other stuff. Also a lot of odds and ends same as CD-Player, playing cards, back-gammon, chess and books to read. The kitchen has almost any kind of culinary that you might need. The Rest has a lot of windows and you would have a beautiful view of outside almost from every where.

    Zahra2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean rustic cabin with all the essentials. Beautiful quiet lake. The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable.

    Kate2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you love wilderness, the peace that brings nature, outdoors and being in a cottage that almost makes you feel outside because of all the windows with a direct view on the lake, this is the place for you! My friends and I had a wonderful stay there!

    Martine2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Be prepared for a lot of boat traffic but once you get used to it wasn’t a thing.

    Dominique2019-06-23T00:00:00Z

    Dana2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Charming apartment house. The interior, which looks like a hotel room, surprises but makes the place super comfortable. The proximity to the main house did not hamper because it was empty. The place is calm and soothing, especially in winter. Deer came to visit us 50 meters from the house at sunset. Nice experience! Thank you for the welcoming !

    Mick2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location and very accommodating hosts. Lots of great history to explore in the area and is a great spot to set up base. (winter visit) Place is well sealed for keeping warm, there were no drafts.

    Thomas2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great small weekend getaway spot! Everything you’d need is available, a lot of small touches and products that made my weekend a treat!

    Alex2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what I needed for a quiet, winter getaway with my dog. The guest house is huge, with high ceilings, a comfy bed, amazing jacuzzi bathtub, full kitchen, and wood stove. The property is lovely with lots of deer roaming around. I was worried it would be difficult to get to with the recent snowfall but the access roads are well traveled and the property roads and parking were plowed. The lock is beautiful at sunrise and sunset, the cataraqui trail and Murphy’s point are awesome for hiking, and the local beer is delicious. Sara was a great host and there were lots of nice touches left in the kitchen and fridge. She was very responsive to requests for more fire wood. Despite the main house being a stones throw away I felt like I had a lot of privacy. Highly recommend this getaway. What a gem!

    Kyla2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to spend a weekend! Nice and quiet location that is an affordable and enjoyable experience. My partner and I had a great weekend relaxing by the fire, making meals (all with the plethora of kitchen utilities and utensils included), enjoying the jacuzzi tub and soaking in the huge amount of natural light. It really was the small things that made a big impact, like the included essentials for food (munchies, coffee, eggs, bread, milk and even beer in the fridge) and the use of eco-friendly soaps and cleaners around the place really made the stay above expectation. Plus, communication and directions were easy to follow and clearly written. Thanks again, we will certainly be looking to come back in the future!

  • Whispering Pines is a beautiful spot. We spent the weekend relaxing in the hot tub, warming up by the fire, and sipping coffee while taking in the view. Al and his wife were fantastic hosts - we felt very welcomed and comfortable in their cozy place. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone and hope to be back in the future!

    Kent2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great space for a getaway. The view is spectacular and the distance fairly reasonable from the GTA and Ottawa both. The hot tub was a great perk and the quiet in the wintertime made for the perfect weekend.

    Melanie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time renting Al’s place for New Years and it was another fantastic trip. The place was spotless and homey, the hot tub and view of the frozen lake was amazing—would definitely recommend as a winter getaway! Thank you again!

  • Al’s house was beautiful! The Canadian Shield surrounding the house and leading into the water was gorgeous and fun for our adventurous boys to climb around. Great kitchen to cook anything in. Fun fire pit and awesome view to take in from the hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed our week away while visiting our Queens student. Would highly recommend Al’s lake house.

  • This is such a beautiful spot...pictures do not do it justice. We had an amazing weekend away: hot tubs, canoeing, sunsets... Al was an excellent host. He sent all the info we'd need in advance and was readily available for questions if they came up. The place was clean, cozy and beautiful and even had a bottle of wine waiting. We had an excellent visit and hope to be back.

Settle in after a quick tour by your host.
Now that the snow has arrived, a 5 minute winter wonderland walk is required to get to the tiny house. Choose from the pull out sofa or the loft for sleeping.
  • Great experience in our first tiny home. Very clean inside and out. Mary Ellen was very hospitable! We had all the essentials and more.

    Denise2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mary Ellen welcomed us extremely soon (even if we arrived a little late) The little house is beautiful and very well maintained Its location by the lake (frozen) is ideal. A very nice place to meet lovers

    Guillaume2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic weekend. The cabin is all you need. Extremely clean, well designed, and in a perfect location as well. The poor petty is truly your playground and up to you how you use it. We went cross country skiing each day, venturing through the woods and trying to track beavers footprints. The barbecue worked great for cooking, and Mary Ellen has everything figured out from a power standpoint ensuring you have access to solar power and propane. We had a small miscommunication that delayed our stay by one night, but it all worked out in the end and we are really looking forward to returning! Highly recommend.

  • Mary Ellen's tiny home is a lovely space. Just what we needed for an evening getaway. We stayed there in January and went for a nice walk around the beaver pond in the morning. The retreat is easy to find with Google maps and check in was simple. Would recommend :)

Welcome to our cottage on Dog Lake, a beautiful and serene lake noted for it's fishing, paddling and wild life. Nestled between Toronto and Montreal, we are the perfect destination for those needing some quiet time while visiting the 1000 islands. Build a bonfire, go for a swim, explore your surroundings by canoe or on foot. There's lots to do. Or, do nothing at all. Sip some wine on the screened in porch while listening to loons or read a book. Sit back, relax, and have a great time!
We have three cottages on our property. Each cottage has two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other, two twins. The kitchen has all the equipment that you need to prepare a full meal. The bathroom has hot and cold running water, a shower and flush toilet. The water is from our well and is drinkable.
We live near the end of a quiet country road. Our property is part of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere, an area teeming with biological diversity as recognized by UNESCO. There is a well-maintained gorgeous public sandy beach 10 minutes away by foot which offers wonderful swimming. Also within walking distance is our local watering hole, the Creekside Pub, a great place to grab lunch or dinner.

  • Can't begin to say how beautiful the place was. Came equipped with a BBQ, firepit, and canoes to go out on to the lake. The stars at night were incredible (a sight right out of Cosmos), and it was very peaceful and quiet. It does get really cold at night so be sure to bring warm, comfy clothes!

    Vandonna2019-09-02T00:00:00Z

The birds & wild flowers were incredible. Sharon & Will were warm & welcoming. The cottage was comfortable. It had everything we needed. The organic kale, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, and zucchini we purchased from the farm was delicious. Kingston is just a short drive away & has lots of great restaurants, shopping, & local attractions. We really liked Harpers & Mango for Vegan options. Overall great stay! Highly recommend!!

Settle in for a quiet, peaceful week of relaxation and nature. Perfect for writing, retreat, yoga, gathering, romancing, simplicity, wildlife -- offers the full spectrum of individual quiet and silence to room enough for laughter and play on the dock and games at night. Everything you need to quickly settle into relaxation and peace.
The cabin is for rent for one week minimum at a time… Saturday to Saturday rentals for the summer. Summer: (June 1 - Oct 1): One week rental period -- Saturday - Saturday. Fall- Winter (October 1 - June 1): Cabin may be rented with minimum 2 nights Friday - Sunday. Weekday rentals only are not available but weekdays can be added to a 3 day weekend Friday - Sunday. This is an off grid cabin in the heart of the Canadian Shield north of Kingston, Ontario Canada on 60 acres of wilderness and another 13000 acres near by in Frontenac Park. The cabin is 4 season -- fully insulated and heated with wood in the winter. The cabin is located in pristine wilderness with 3200 feet of rock/sand deep fresh water shoreline. Hiking trails, rocks, meadows, ponds, and raw untouched beauty abundant. Swimming is the best it gets in Ontario -- deep clear and clean. Lots of birds and wildlife. Fishing is fabulous. Ice fishing awesome in the winter. There is a deck at the lakeside, a floating dock that anchors out from shore, and a little boat launch for the Grumman Canoe. Weedfree, rocks and sand shoreline -- shallow sandy bottom for about 5 feet and then drops into deep clear water. The Cabin is a boat/ski/walk in only cabin -- think of it like an island. There is a boat public boat ramp on the Lake and parking on the side of Bedford Road --and the cabin and property is only about 10 minutes by canoe (800 meters from the boat launch) or 3 minutes by motor boat. There is a Grumman Canoe for you use, two paddles, and you will need to bring your own life jackets. In the winter when the ice is safe, it is about 10 minute walk along the edge of the lake... or shorter if the ice is solid and you ski or snowshoe in. The cabin is fully furnished and on a solar panel for charging batteries of phones and computers and there's lots of power for small reading lights. With solar and rain water gravity feed, it is completly adequate for a gentle week of life in the woods. There is also a generator that is easy to use should it be required. Off grid means an outhouse -- lovely as it is. There is a gravity fed rain water system for washing dishes and hands and things. In the winter, water is augered from the lake and you bring your own drinking water or boil lake water/snow. In the summer, 2 X 15 litres of drinking water is provided. Bring more if you need it. There is a professional Cambro fridge/cooler that keeps ice blocks cold for 5-6 days and is perfect for keeping dairy and meat cold. There are also two big Coleman coolers on site (you bring ice blocks) to keep extra things like drinks cool. Ice blocks are for sale in nearby Sydenham. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything from sharp knives to cast iron frying pans. We are lovers of food and cooking so you shouldn't need anything in that way. The town of Sydenham is 7 km from the cabin -- it has everything you need from Hardware, to grocery store, to liquor and beer stores. Ice cubes and blocks can be bought there and it's a quick easy fun little trip into civilization. There is is a 20 X 12 screened in porch that has a 180 degree view of the water. Sleeping is a double futon bed in the screened in porch, a double futon in the main house, three movable single foam mattresses that are stored in the loft. Families need to bring bedding and towels, tea towels. Beds are two doubles and three singles. Swimming is pristine and beautiful. Guests have been known to swim all the way around the lake. Cronk Lake is known for great fishing. There are a few motor boats on the lake but the cabin is located on the quiet end of the lake. The terrain is rocky with narrow paths. The cabin is about 20 meters higher than the water. Toddlers and seniors will be challenged with the footing in places. See Cabin Information Package (provided for you upon rental by email) for full and serious description of the place!
Cronk Lake is about half full time residents and the other half, cottagers. It can be ultra quiet and other times, busy on a holiday weekend. Mostly, it is quiet as the lake is small.
  • Heidi is a thoughtful and responsive host. Her cabin is rustic and charming and has all one needs if one is willing to live off-grid. The lake is beautifully clear, and the forest and the wildlife is a joy for every nature lover.

    Oda2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi was a fantastic host. Her communication was great and she was very helpful. A great experience overall

    Shane2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi’s cabin is truly a magical place. As a writer I found her cabin to be the most tranquil and productive environment. I highly suggest reading all of the details that Heidi provides before booking. It’s akin to camping and the lake is small and absolutely pristine. Furthermore Heidi is an incredible host and I truly enjoyed my stay. I will definitely come back.

    Gillian2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Even before we booked Heidi was so helpful in answering all our questions. The cabin is a off grid solar powered cabin accessible by canoe. It is in a magnificent setting which truly allows you to disconnect. The cabin is very well stocked with necessary comforts and Heidi provided a detailed guide with anything you need to know about the area, the wildlife etc. We were completely on our own but we had access to many numbers to call should we need anything. We had a truly wonderful experience staying in Heidi's cabin, I would recommend her as the ideal host to anyone and I would definetly suggest this cabin to nature lovers looking to disconnect from the world

    Arash2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Heidi's cabin. The lake is gorgeous so you just take all your drinks, snacks and sunscreen down to the dock for the day and relax. The hammock was my favourite spot. I would definitely equate the experience to "glamping" but that was perfect for us because the cabin was very peaceful and quiet. We stayed 4 adults and the place didn't feel too cramped. It was also well equipped for cooking. Thanks for the hideaway Heidi!

    Kate2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was fabulous, the lake pristine, clear water, perfect for swimming. A wonderful week away from everything amidst the beauty of Ontario's lakes and forests. Descriptions were 100% spot on, no surprises, and our excellent host Heidi was immediately responsive with information and advice. A truly magical place.

Beautiful 1940s cottage perched on the shores of peaceful Howes Lake only 25 minutes north of the 401 in Kingston. Main cottage has a large deck and an open kitchen/dining/living room with two smaller bedrooms. Bunk house is large, bright and open with a double bed and 2 singles (bunks) and sitting areas inside and out. Water is great for swimming, fishing & boating. 3 new Stand up paddle boards and a brand new paddle boat are provided. Only 3km from Verona with LCBO/Beer/ Grocery store etc.
The open concept kitchen / dining room / living room make this a great spot to catch up with friends and family. It's a cozy cottage but with so many windows and coastal, modern decor it feels open and airy. Just off the living room is a large deck that hangs out over the lake. It has a table and seating for 6. Outside the kitchen door is a gas BBQ. If you empty a tank, there is a second waiting, just please let us know so we can refill. At this cottage, you're never more than a few steps from the water! One bedroom has a set of bunk beds with a double on the bottom and single on top. The second bedroom has a double bed and a TV with built in DVD player. The bathroom is accessed through this second bedroom. Water is pulled from the lake and the cottage has a holding tank which needs to be pumped out periodically. Water in the taps and shower does pass through a filter but we advise drinking from the provided Culligan jugs. If you are staying for a longer period, it's possible that you may need to top up what we have provided. Bottles are easily exchanged at the store in Verona. This is a true 1940s cottage so the bathroom was a later addition. It has a full sized shower, flush toilet and sink but is cozy and accessed through one of the bedrooms in the main cottage. The bunk house is separate from the cottage and a great way to provide some separation between guests. It's a large open space measuring 20' by 12' with several windows. It has a set of single bunk beds and a double bed. We find it to be an ideal spot for hosting parents with two children. It also has a sitting area with beautiful views of the lake.
The cottage is about 3km from Verona and 5km from the main Grocery store which is also a beer store and LCBO outlet. Verona is a cute little town with all of the modern necessities. It has a nice sand beach with a small playground structure for children.

  • We had such a great time together with friends at your cottage. Whether waking up to a beautiful lake scenery, enjoying the water right by the lake, or having a campfire during a day and night, we really enjoyed our time at such a quaint and cozy place. True value of a getaway is the memories we build with our family and friends, and this place definitely made it possible. Thank you Carissa and Owen to hosting our getaway and providing us such a beautiful place to enjoy our summer! We definitely look forward to booking with you again soon.

  • Gorgeous cottage, right on the water. You'll find great swimming (both a shallow entry and a dock where the water is a bit deeper. It's not weedy at all in the deeper area. The hosts made sure the tastefully appointed cottage was sparkling clean and they seem extremely friendly and sweet. It was one of the most relaxing vacations I've ever had.

  • My family of 4 adults and 2 kids had a wonderful time at Carissa and Owen's cottage. The access to the water and water toys was so appreciated. There was just enough space that we could all feel separated enough to enjoy ourselves. The house was very clean, although being a cottage on the water, there were plenty of bugs that got in the house. My kids are already asking when we can go back to visit again. If you're from an urban area, I highly recommend staying up late to catch the dark night sky. We enjoyed and made memories with all our time at the cottage : rain, sun or night sky.

  • Carissa and Owen's place is well located, spotlessly clean and full of everything you will need to enjoy a visit to cottage country. There are various picturesque areas for hanging out, all with a view of the beautiful lake. The cottage and bunkie are stylish and comfortable. And the dock is large enough for a few people to sit and swim. The lake was warm and clean when we were there and perfect for swimming and paddle boarding. You'll want to sit on the dock with steaming cup of coffee and watch the lake wake up every morning. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend their place and would definitely book again.

  • Thank you Carissa and Owen for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. The space is so cozy and perfect for a family with either teenage or young children. Little Verona has everything you need and if you want more it is an easy drive to Kingston. We also visited Prince Edward County. We couldn’t get over the lovely sunset view, calmness of the lake, and the various wildlife. It was the perfect place to bond as a family. You are welcoming and considerate hosts.

  • The Aerie was the perfect destination for a romantic couple of days away from real life. The cabin was clean and beautiful, with the perfect layout for lounging, eating, and socializing. We especially loved the view over the lake, the living room fireplace, and the squashy giant sofa. The view from the luxurious bathtub was pretty great too: I watched a deer grazing just a few feet away from where I was soaking and sipping wine. Host Jamie was lovely and extremely easy to communicate with both before and during our stay, and he was very accommodating of a couple of special requests we made along the way. The cleaning charge feels a bit on the steep side for a short stay, but still worth the pay out. We visited in winter and are hoping to return in the summer for a different experience at this magical place.

  • This is our first time AirBnB & Cabin (cottage) experience , true getaway and embrace the beauty of the nature, house is clean, , kitchen is fully equipped, couch and beds are comfortable, Jamie is doing his best to be helpful.

  • I had a perfect pile of days away at this quiet little cottage. Super clean and cozy. I spent most of my time next to the fire as my stay was in winter. The couch is incredibly comfortable & I was able to go ice skating out on the lake- awesome!

    Reilly2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Aerie is a wonderful, private place to enjoy a bit of R and R. We spent 4 nights over New Years enjoying books and wine in front of the fireplace and enjoyed every minute. The cottage is very privately nestled in the woods on a very quiet lake. It's impeccably clean and modern with every amenity you might need. The beds and sofa are super comfy.. perfect for lounging around. Jamie was very responsive and very kindly adjusted our dates by one day when an ice storm moved in the day we were to travel there. This is the perfect place for a couple or small family to enjoy a peaceful retreat. (It's open concept so privacy may be an issue for some) Highly recommended!

    Donna2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie's place is perfect. Comfortable couch. Great kitchen. Great view. It really is a perfect place to disconnect.

    Kara2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second trip to The Aerie and we loved it even more this time. The lake is beautiful and so peaceful. I love that the development on the lake is planned so that you can't see another cottage from the dock. The cottage is great - very well equipped and comfortable. Great fireplace. Jamie is a wonderful host and very available for questions. Thank you!!

    Jessica2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage, modern and super comfortable, with an amazing view and water front access. Plenty to do inside and outside. Jamie is very quick and thorough as a host. Definitely recommend staying here !

  • Thank you Margot for being an incredible host our family genuinely enjoyed our stay in your family cottage. The cottage was much better than anticipated and we already had high hopes! We lucked out with the weather and were able to enjoy being out by the water and fire pit. The cottage was filled with thoughtful touches throughout and had all the amenities we needed + more. The cottage is very spacious and never felt like we were being cramped. We hope to return in the summer!

  • Amazzzzing place. Pictures and reviews are pretty accurate. Margot is always looking to help you with anytype of questions you may have. Will definitively book again next year !

  • Crow lake views did not disappoint. The cottage was even nicer in person, pics did not do it justice. Highly recommend Margos cottage to relax and recharge with friends and family. Thank you for a great time!

  • We recently stayed at Margot's cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage is very clean and well stocked. The water is beautiful and the canoe, kayaks and lily pad were enjoyed by all. Anyone booking this cottage will have a great time.

    Brenda2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful cottage for multigenerational family vacation - as long as everyone is good with steps to the great swimming. The cottage is attractive, spacious and very comfortable - especially important while we watched afternoon thunderstorms across the lake. There were some delightful welcoming touches like a bottle of wine for the adults and art supplies for the children. Kitchen was great. I was very impressed with the prompt response with a plan A and plan B to resolve what turned out to be a temporary issue with the oven. The haunting calls of loons and railway whistle in the distance seemed iconic for Canada. We all loved it and want to return next year.

    Elaine2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was amazing to stay in and it was very well suited for a large family and kids of all ages! The cottage was very spacious, we had a group of 6 adults and 4 kids, and we never felt like we were on top of each other. All of the furniture, especially the beds, were very comfortable! The deck was perfect for when we wanted to relax and enjoy the view, and the sandy beach was perfect for the young kids to play and build sandcastles. We also really liked the paddle boards and the lily pad, we had tonnes of fun in the water, oh, and the fishing was great too! Margot was very quick with her responses and the cottage guide explained everything very well for what we needed to do and where all the amenities were located. All in all, our family had an amazing vacation!

    Brad2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage. Beautiful lake. Excellent hosts. It was perfect for our family get together. Our family of three generations spent a week at the cottage and all of us really enjoyed ourselves. We especially enjoyed the paddle boards, swimming and the big foam floating pad, kayaking, the sand beach, the fire pit, the well-equipped kitchen and BBQ, and large screen TV with Netflix. And the view is terrific! Our hosts, Margot and Mark, were very quick to respond to all our questions and did a great job in providing everything that was needed at the cottage. We hope to return some day!

    Robert2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Margot and her husband were Super hosts and very responsive to questions. We had a tree fall on part of the dock during a sudden storm and they were more than willing to get someone out the next day to clear it out. Because it really wasn’t in the way, we opted out of this option. The cottage inside and out is stunning and has all the amenities you would need for a large group. During our stay, the lake was remarkably quiet (and warm!) even over the July 1st long weekend . The kayaks, paddle boards and lily pad are a fantastic addition and within minutes, our kids aged 8 and 10, were maneuvering them with ease. The fishing off the dock is great! Our daughter caught 17 fish in one day. We may have neglected to tell her it was the same fish a lot of the time but to an 8 year old, it was a grand time. We had our own boat to tour the lake and were in awe of a naturally occurring waterfall across the lake from us. We also checked out the area where people jump off the rocks into the lake as well. Part of our group visited Westport for a day and went to the tea room for lunch and visited the cute shops and boutiques. Expect to hear the haunting call of a loon or two to interrupt your morning coffee on the deck or evening bonfire. If you want some rest and relaxation, this is definitely the place to be.
