  • Amazing cottage in a great location to explore the Cotswolds. Laura has excellent communication and was so helpful in our trip. Having her as your host is like having a friend in the area you can ask for advice from. The cottage was immaculate, comfortable, and well designed. The bed's comfort got rave reviews from my wife! Would definitely book again!

  • This is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore the Cotswolds. We stayed for 3 nights and could have easily stayed longer. The place was very homely and tasteful decorated. The hosts left complimentary breakfast items which was a lovely touch. Even though during our stay it was very rainy, we felt warm and cosy in this accommodation. Could not recommend more!

Welcome to Castle Mews, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Castle Mews is a hidden gem of a cottage, at the end of a short row of cottages tucked away down a gated passageway, right in the heart of the lovely market town of Cirencester. In Roman times Cirencester was known as “Corinium”, when it was the second largest town in Britain, a history that is celebrated in its local museum. Nowadays, Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswolds, enabling it to support a wide range of pubs, restaurants and shops, all housed in beautiful honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings. The town is surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful Cotswold villages, as well as being an ideal base for visiting further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford or even a day trip into London. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Castle Mews is very peacefully located, down a gated passageway off Castle street, a beautiful street in the heart of Cirencester. There is a lovely enclosed courtyard garden at the front of the cottage, which leads to the front door. The door opens into the open plan ground floor: Living/dining area: The relaxing living and dining space contains a comfy sofa, an armchair and a wooden dining table, with seating for two. Discretely hidden away in a wooden cabinet is a small SMART TV and DVD player; Kitchen area: The lovely kitchen area is very well laid out and contains a two ring induction hob, electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and a washing machine/tumble dryer. Stairs lead up from the living area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom: A lovely eaves room, with oak beams and a ledge and brace door, which contains a king size bed; Dressing room: A nice additional space, which contains a sofa, a dressing table and a free standing towel rail; Bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Returning downstairs, a stable door leads out from the kitchen area to a small, enclosed courtyard garden at the back of the cottage, which contains a table and two seats. The garden area at the front of the cottage is larger and is a beautiful place to sit outside and relax, containing two comfy chairs and a small table.
Bourton-on-the-Water is arguably one of the most popular villages of the Cotswolds, especially amongst overseas visitors. Having been nicknamed the "Venice of the Cotswolds", its scenery is the main draw for travellers. The River Windrush meanders through beautiful English countryside before passing over rapids next to the Old Mill and arriving at Bourton. The river is fed from many springs, with the source approximately ten miles from the village and, after flowing under the bridges of Bourton, it passes other villages before eventually joining the Thames. There are various attractions in the village, including the famous Birdland, which is home to a variety of birds from around the world. Here visitors can see parrots, pelicans, flamingos and penguins to name just a few, with experienced keepers feeding the birds and leading demonstrations. The Model Village is well worth a visit, as Bourton is the only village in the Cotswolds to have a one-ninth scale replica of itself. It is carefully maintained and has all of the characterful buildings including the Old Water Mill and the Old New Inn. Those lucky enough to witness snow in the winter months will notice photographers at the model village trying to get the perfect picture of the snowy scene. Another family favourite is the Dragonfly Maze. This yew maze leads visitors through the labyrinth, gathering clues in order to find the pavilion in the centre which enables them to unlock the final secret! The maze was constructed by Kit Williams, author of the golden hare treasure hunt book, "Masquerade".

The house is perfect for a couple getaway, was just lovely, great bed, HUGE couch and living space, private and sophisticated. Reiss2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Slightly unconventional accommodation; ideal for 2 people. Quiet, private setting in the back-garden of a 16th century stone cottage a few miles from Cirencester. Two minutes walk to local grocery shop, or post-office or pubs. Beautifully clean, with gated access. (Slide the LH gate open into the gap between the cottage wall and the wheelie bins-do not try to pivot it on a non-existent hinge!)

  • This is a very nice little self contained studio apartment in the back garden of the hosts home. Located in a very old and pretty little village, it has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Although we never met Gemma she responded quickly to all emails. The local co-op is handy for quick ready meals and wine and the local Indian take away was excellent for a night off from cooking. Thanks for a great, relaxing visit.

  • Beautiful property in an excellent location. The Chapel was easy to find thanks to clear instructions sent before our stay, and it was very clean and cosy, with plenty of space for eight people. The only slightly annoying thing was the shower in the annexe, which was breaking, but it was still useable so not too bad. Check in was very simple - we were even left a cake as a welcome gift. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby plus an amazing pub. We had a really wonderful weekend here. Thank you!

  • Lovely space. We were a group of eight so the size was perfect. The main bedroom and annexe are great sizes both with en suites and the other two bathrooms are still a comfortable size with a good sized family bathroom. Garden is gorgeous and would be perfect for summer, sadly the weather didn’t allow us to enjoy it. Kitchen is a great size and very practical. Local pub the Falcon is very welcoming and great food- highly recommend. Overall a fab stay.

    Hannah2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at The Chapel, the property is stunning and the process from booking through to arriving was very easy. The space works really well for a group of 8, with both the kitchen/diner and lounge being good communal spaces. The enclosed garden was also great, especially for the dog.

  • Highly recommended venue! It is a beautiful house in a superb location. We stayed here for Cheltenham races, the host was amazing with supporting us with taxis and suggesting eating venues. The house was sparkling clean with more than enough space for 11 of us & all our cars.

  • We spent the whole weekend in this excellent property that was of a very high spec. It exceeded our expectations. One did not want for anything. Gorgeous stove in cozy sitting room which had 2 cupboards of games that we took full advantage of over a warm fire. The whole property was spotlessly clean. All essential services were well labelled easing the pressure of trying to figure out how services worked. The surrounding area is just beautiful. The provided maps helped us plan our daily walks prior to returning to a well equipped kitchen to cook up a feast.

  • Honeysuckle House is absolutely stunning, even better than the already fantastic pictures. It’s really well equipped, especially with plenty of kitchen equipment if you’ve got the full amount of guests. The location is great with plenty of pubs to pick from within quick driving distance. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough and hope to be able to stay again!

  • 12 of us stayed for a university friends reunion and it was the perfect space for us all to catch up and relax together. The open plan kitchen and diner was the best part of the house as we were all able to help cook and eat together without feeling cramped. Each bedroom was decorated beautifully and it really felt like being in someone’s home. We were so glad we chose to host the reunion in a house rather than a hotel. Whilst we didn’t leave the house all that much as it had everything we need we did venture to a local pub which was only a short walk away across lovely countryside. If your looking for a house to be with family or friends in the quiet countryside, this house is for you.

  • Honeysuckle House is the perfect place, exactly as shown and described (if not better). We can’t wait to return for another long relaxing weekend, away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks again!

Comfy cosy 2 bedroom caravan, with everything you need for a relaxing break in the Cotswolds. Just 5 mins from Cirencester, Bibury, Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold are all within 30 mins by car. Situated on the Hoburne Cotswold park near South Cerney. On site facilities include shop, entertainment, bar, cafe, restaurant, pools, crazy golf, plus lots more! There may be a fee for passes in high season (£8 per child/£12 per adult). A great base for exploring the Cotswolds 'AONB'.
Our cosy caravan has a nice sized lounge area with a sofa bed, an electric effect fire, a TV and DVD player. There is a dining area with a table seating 4, and a well equipt kitchen area. Our caravan has 2 bedrooms. A master bedroom with lots of wardrobe space and a twin room with 2 beds that can be made into a small double if needed. There is a shower room and toilet. The caravan has blower heating.
Situated on Cotswold Holburne Caravan Park in Ashton Keynes this is a great place to explore Cotswold Water Park and the 150 lakes. There is even a beach! The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding natural beauty and you are nicely situated to visit the beautiful Cotswold towns and villages of Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bibury, Stow, Bourton on the Water or Burford, to name but a few. You also have easy access to Marlborough, Avebury and Castle Coombe within 3/4's of an hour, well worth a visit.
  • It’s a small but cozy house near the river. 20mins drive from there to the Bibury. Only one small shop at the reception. We used oven and cooks for our dinner. It’s so nice of Mims that she offered us some free snacks and milk ! Though the heavy rain and wind sound loudly at night, we slept deeply because of the comfortable bed. Several lakes nearby the place and service some river sports. Good restaurant and swimming pool at the reception house. It’s a pity we noticed that at our leaving.

The Studio is a cosy single storey self-contained annexe to the owner's house in the Cotswold village of Poulton. Double bedroom, en suite shower room, fully equipped kitchen/living room with sofa bed, private courtyard garden. WiFi, underfloor heating, freesat TV, parking. Basic breakfast included. Great village pub nearby.
Bed linen and towels are provided. On-drive parking is available for two vehicles. The property is adjoined to the owner's family house, but is completely self-contained with its own access. There is space to store bicycles securely (behind a locked gate). To the rear there is a small, private courtyard garden. The property is self-catering but the cupboards are stocked with items for a basic breakfast, plus tea and coffee. The property is compact but well-equipped and newly decorated and furbished throughout. Everything is brand new and clean: the conversion was completed in January 2016. It will sleep two comfortably. There is also a double sofa bed which will sleep a further two people, but space is very limited when the sofa bed is extended, and it is a bit of a squeeze. Please also be aware that access to the toilet and shower room is through the bedroom. Babies and children of all ages are very welcome.
The village of Poulton has a shop, a well-equipped children's park, a church and a fantastic dining pub, The Falcon Inn, which is renowned for its quality food (booking for dinner, particularly at weekends, is advised, as they are often fully booked in advance). Poulton is also home to Performance Cycles (cycling club), and the area is very popular with cyclists at all levels. The village is well situated within the Cotswolds, 5 miles from Cirencester, 3 miles from Fairford, 4 miles from Bibury, and within a half-hour drive of Cheltenham, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Malmesbury and Bourton-on-the-Water. Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge are all within an hour's drive. Kemble train station is 10 miles away, with the journey to London Paddington taking just under an hour and a half. Beautiful countryside is on the doorstep - just step outside and start walking! Nearby attractions include the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Cotswold Water Park (with watersports and a beach), the famous village of Bibury (described by William Wordsworth as "the most beautiful village in England") with its trout farm, Cirencester with its boutique shops, spa hotel, gastropubs and historic architecture, Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park, and Swindon's Steam Museum and designer shopping outlet centre. Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge are all within an hour's drive. National Trust attractions include Chedworth Roman Villa, Buscot Park and Hidcote Manor Gardens, and the fantastic Westonbirt Arboretum is also nearby. Local events include the Royal International Air Tattoo in July, the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Cheltenham Festival in March, the Cotswold Show in July, Cirencester's Phoenix Festival (family music weekend) in August, and WOMAD world music festival in July. Westonbirt Arboretum holds autumn colour events, and Colesbourne Park holds snowdrops walks in the winter.

  • The house is about ten minutes drive from Byblos. It is very convenient to drive to the town during the day. The rooms are the same as the pictures. The rooms are small but they should be there. It ’s just that it ’s really crowded if you want to cook by yourself.

The Old Vicarage is a handsome Cotswold stone house dating from the early 18th century, surrounded by a beautiful mature garden. It is located in a peaceful position within the village of South Cerney, and just 3 miles from the market town of Cirencester. We have two bedrooms available, which can be let as one room only, or both rooms together to the same group. These two guest rooms share a shower room, so if both rooms booked then it will be a private bathroom.
Two large and bright private bedrooms available within our Cotswold stone house, which are both situated on the first floor, opposite each other. The photos show Bedroom 1, which has a double bed and a desk, and Bedroom 2 which can be set up as a superking or twin single beds, therefore together accommodating a family or a group of friends. You can either let one room individually, or both rooms to one group (just add up to 4 people through this listing). For clarity, if you book for 3 people this will be the double bed & 1 single. If you require 3 separate beds for 3 people (double & 2 singles), then please book for 4 people & message for a special discount. The shower room is for use by these guest rooms only, but will be shared with the other guests if you only book one room. Please note, it is not en suite and is accessed via a shared corridor & some stairs. Breakfast options are available for an additional cost, please request details when enquiring. Alternatively, there is a Co-Op in the village & many cafes/restaurants in Cirencester or near the lakes. You are welcome to use part of the garden, where there is a table & bench. There is no access to the kitchen or fridge to prepare or store meals.
South Cerney is close to the Cotswold Lakes & Water Park, where it is possible to do a host of water sports including sailing, waterskiing, kayaking & paddleboarding. It is also well placed to explore many Cotswold towns, including Cirencester, Bibury, Northleach, Cheltenham, Malmesbury, Tetbury, Fairford, Lechlade, Burford & Bourton-on-the-Water, which are all within half an hour's drive. The village itself has 3 pubs (The Royal Oak is good for food), a small Co-Op supermarket, an excellent fish & chip shop & a curry house, which are all within level walking distance of the house. There are also several cafes & restaurants around the Lakes, as well as a more extensive range in Cirencester. There are several walking paths nearby & one connects to the Thames Path.

Double bed in quiet owner-occupied newly built house near lake. Possibly another AirBnB guest staying in another room sharing the bathroom (or could be myself or girlfriend). We may or may not be there face-to-face for check-in (if not we we provide a key) and we usually have minimal contact during the stay other than for queries and/or messages via the AirBnB app. As we like to keep our property quiet and relaxing, we are ideal for quiet people who go to bed before 10:30pm and raise after 7am.
Use of room and bathroom. Use of kitchen for the microwave and to store a a couple of items in the fridge is OK if you let us know in advance. If you want to use the kitchen for anything more than that then there is an extra charge, usually £10 per night. As we are regularly cooking ourselves, please let us know before you arrive or there will likely not be space!
Situated in Cotswold Water Park. Easy drive to Cirencester, Swindon and Malmesbury, along with the A419 and M4.

  • We had a wonderful stay in ‘The Warren’ over the weekend. The hot tub was just amazing for our girls trip. The place was exceptionally clean, and Tracy was such a great host with responding to my questions. Thank you for making our stay so amazing!

  • The chalet is a great place to relax and unwind, surrounded by some beautiful lakes and the sprawling Cotswolds. It's in a great location (only a 20 to 25 minute drive from the Swindon train station) and is a great halfway point between the Midlands and London. The chalet itself was really cute and clean - the hot tub was absolutely amazing and was definitely our favourite part of our trip! It's a little tight for 6 people but we managed fine and everyone slept well anyway. The games were also a great addition as we ended up just staying in in the evenings. Would recommend bringing some wellies as it gets very muddy on the footpaths. Tracey was an incredibly responsive and helpful host, and so very grateful for all her help during the weekend! We'd definitely recommend staying at the chalet and we'd definitely stay again - thanks for having us Tracey!

  • I wouldn’t think twice about booking Tracy’s place. An outstanding property, with very stylish taste, it had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds with extras such as toiletries, tea, coffee and a bottle of Prosecco. The added bonus of a hot hub for a chilled break was amazing. Nothing was to much trouble. Communication with Tracy was efficient and detailed. I’m looking forward to my return visit. Lynne

Nothing says holidays like a hot tub. After dinner’s done and the night is but young, fire up the bubbles and watch the panoramic view of the sun setting over the lake from your private secure deck. This is just one of the magical moments you can experience whilst staying at Lapwing Lake Lodge. Perched on the water’s edge, Lapwing Lake Lodge is a chic New England-style retreat with plenty of room for six plus pooch. The pretty clapper board-style exterior and fantastic water-front setting make a brilliant first impression. The convenience of the location within steps of a family-friendly lakeside bar, brasserie, gym and a great children's play area come a close second. Located on Spring Lake, our lake house has prime position in the Cotswold Water Park, one of the best kept secrets of Gloucestershire! One of 150 lakes in an area the size of Jersey, there’s so much to explore and something for everyone. Wildlife, watersports, activities, great eateries, walking, history and culture are just some of the things you will find nearby.
The lake house itself has been stylishly renovated to mirror its setting, offering super lake views from inside and out. Downstairs, it’s fully open plan complemented by stunning bi-folding doors that stretch across the back of the house. They ensure the house is filled with calm and tranquil light whilst showing the lake off in all its charming glory. An ever changing picture of water-skiers, swans and rippling water can be enjoyed from the comfort of the sofa, or fold the doors back and the living area takes on a new and exciting feel. The outside space becomes an extension to the house, providing the perfect spot for sizzling steaks on the barbecue. Or simply sitting back to enjoy lakeside life while your own hot tub bubbles invitingly and watch the world go by. Upstairs there is a large master bedroom with a full length window overlooking the lake, allowing you the same stunning views, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Extra care has been taken for families, and you will find lots of special touches around the house if you are planning on taking the little ones. The light bright interiors with family-friendly luxuries are added bonuses, whilst the fact that there’s a spa, golf course, water sports centre, bike hire and routes, plus a choice of restaurants and pubs, within a short, scenic walk really sets it apart. Although, for most young families, the fact that the UK’s largest inland beach with a purpose built toddler paddling and playground area is within a 10-15 minute stroll is the icing on the cake. THE LAYOUT Ground floor: Open plan living space with sitting and dining areas seating six. Bifold doors open out onto a private deck with superb lake views. A U-shaped kitchen with breakfast bar and stools is set slightly apart from the living area. Shower room with WC First floor: Master bedroom with 5′ king size bed and a pretty Juliette balcony with amazing views over the lake. There is also room for a cot. Double bedroom with 4’6″ bed. Twin bedroom with 2’6″ beds which can convert into a kingsize bed. Family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and children’s bathing accessories. IN A NUTSHELL 6 Guests Three bedrooms: two doubles, one twin/double One bathroom, one shower room Suitable for children and baby (cot, highchair and stairgate available) Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome on request (small additional fee applies*) Private secure deck onto lake with hot tub, table and chairs and barbecue Welcome hamper, linen and toiletries Surrounding shared outdoor space and children’s playground Bike hire with child seats/trailers can be pre-booked Spa, gym, golf course, water sports centre, bike hire and routes, plus a choice of restaurants and pubs on site Heavily discounted spa passes Parking for two cars EQUIPMENT Electric wall heaters Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer-dryer Flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player WiFi internet access Private outdoor heated hot tub Outdoor dining furniture and barbecue
Along with its lakeside setting one of the house’s greatest assets is the amount that there is to see and do nearby for families and young children. Within a minute’s stroll is the Lakeside Brassiere which boasts a family friendly sports bar, a relaxed family restaurant with a sun terrace overlooking the lake. A fully air conditioned gym is located above the brasserie with a range of equipment. Should you be staying for a prolonged period a monthly membership can be purchased, but the gym also offers a highly reasonable single use fee option. Within 50 metres of the lodge is a large children’s play area with climbing frame, monkey bars and fireman pole. Lakeside Ski & Wake offer wakeboard and waterski lessons on the lake, plus sessions as well as fun rides for all the family on their ringos and other inflatables. These all prove irresistible to most families in the summer months, not least since thanks to a special skimmer board. From beginners to experts, everyone is welcome. Next to the house is a small shingle beach area popular with the little ones for paddling. From the deck you can feed swans and ducks that are very friendly, but far enough away to stop little ones from feeling intimidated. About a 5 minutes’ walk away, there’s a cable ski and a buzzing cafe bar reachable on pushchair friendly flat paths and roads. Located opposite Spring Lake is the South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre which offers sailing, canoeing, and paddle boarding activities and courses. Bike hire, angling and even the biggest inland beach in the UK are all within a mile or two. Located on the other side of the Spine Road, a 10 minute walk from Spring Lake, is Spa 6, one of the premier spas in the Cotswolds, located within the Four Pillars Cotswold Water Park Hotel. Treatments include: Volcanic Hot Stone Back Massage, “Indian Sandalwood” Soothing Scalp Massage and “Exotic Orange Blossom Ritual” Face and Body Treatment. Not forgetting of course, a state-of-the-art gymnasium and hydrotherapy pool. The house is also within walking distance to the local village of South Cerney which offers a number of local amenities including a selection of pubs, takeaways, village shops, post office and a hairdressers. Lapwing Lake Lodge is ideally situated too for exploring the towns and villages of the beautiful Cotswolds region. The well-known quintessential English villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Moreton-in-the-Marsh, are all within easy reach and make a great day out. Cirencester known as ‘The Capital of the Cotswolds’, is 4 miles away, giving easy access to excellent shopping, restaurants, entertainment, ancient buildings and museums. Cheltenham (20 miles), the most complete regency town in England, is famous for its horse-racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. At other times of year, Cheltenham hosts Festivals of Jazz, Classical Music, Science, Literature, Food & Drink. Highgrove House, one of the homes of Prince Charles, is less than half an hour’s drive as is Westonbirt Arboretum, with its stunning new treetop walkway, the longest in the UK. Appealing to children in particular, the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park, the numerous attractions at Bourton-on-the-Water, and Cotswold Farm Park provide plentiful entertainment. The cities of Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Oxford are all under an hour’s drive away. Located just over an hour from London, it’s the ideal place for families or a group of friends to spend time together at any time of the year.
  • This property is very spacious with super underfloor heating an excellent location with an awesome view of the lake, our host Kevin arrived the same time as us, he was most pleasant and full of local knowledge, we were here with storm Denis and still had an awesome stay

  • We had a brilliant weekend celebrating a big birthday. The hot tub was brilliant and so lovely to look out over such a wonderful view. Kevin was very friendly and helpful and offered tips on pubs and walking routes. The kitchen was well equipped and there was also a lovely fresh baguette, butter and eggs left for us. The two twin rooms are super small but for our weekend it was no problem. You would need to use the main master bedroom for all your clothing and luggage but this has lots of storage and lovely views over the lake. The lake house club next door we’re very friendly and helpful when we decided a last minute take away was needed! A brilliant bolt hole for a weekend with friends.

  • The 6 of us had an absolutely amazing stay. The apartment is beautiful and spacious with gorgeous views onto the lake. The host Kevin was fantastic and extremely hospitable - he even fetched us when we weren’t able to get a taxi for which we are very grateful for - thanks Kevin. Thanks so much for a great stay! We thoroughly enjoyed it Will certainly return again.

  • Booked for my dad's 75th birthday - five of us, including a toddler. Clean, bright, sunny open-plan space was ideal for us all. The location is excellent - it's lovely to look out over the lake. Great communication from the start and super easy instructions on gaining access. And the hot tub was a great bonus on a damp October weekend.

  • Hi Kevin and team made our stay at Spring Lodge so much fun! We loved the property and the quality time spent in the Jacuzzi overlooking the lake. Special shout-out to Kevin for making us feel welcome and driving us to local attractions. You really made us feel welcome and went the extra mile when it comes to hospitality! Will definitely be staying at Lapwing Lodge again!!! Huge thanks!!!! Xx

Charmingly renovated cottage, quintessentially Cotswold on the outside, calm and contemporary on the inside. Stunning handmade kitchen, fully equipped and boasting a beautiful AGA. The living room has a library feel, with huge squishy leather sofa, an Abu dance of books, TV, Wifi and digital radio. Upstairs the beamed bedroom space is cosy and romantic, with views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.
  • We had a great time at Allan's place. Lovely quiet cottage with a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofa and very cosy bedroom and ensuite. We made good use of the hot tub and sauna which were free to use at any time. We felt very welcome and enjoyed having a glass of wine with Allan on one of the evenings. Would also recommend a trip into Cirencester which is lovely and has a fair amount to see.

  • Photos do not do this place justice! We were overwhelmed with the cottage and it’s grounds. Allan and Ruby were incredible hosts and couldn’t have done any more! So many lovely extra touches such as fresh flowers, fresh bread and wine. Amazing stay and will definitely book to return again!

  • Having read the other reviews before our visit I was very excited for our weekend away. The cottage 100% lived up to expectation and actually exceeded it. The cottage, house and surrounding grounds are beautiful and ell kept. The upgraded hot tub to the one in the photos was an awesome surprise. We didn't get to use the sauna, but a lovely facility that future guests are sure to make use of. Location was perfect for day tripping in the cotswold with pubs, restaurants and supermarkets all nearby. Overall an amazing spot tucked away in the beautiful Cotswolds. I hope we can make a return visit some day.

  • 10/10. Absolutely brilliant beautiful cottage with amazing gardens (all fully secure so the dogs could roam free). Allan was an absolutely fantastic host who could not have been more welcoming. The cottage is gorgeous, sparkling clean and so cute and cosy. Can’t wait to come back.

Converted in 2018, our outbuilding offers a modern take on a country suite. With separate bedroom, en-suite and large living space the detached annex is great for couples or singles to spend a few days away on the edge of the Cotswold Water Park - brilliant for walking and (flat!) cycling. Located at the end of a small residential cul-de-sac in the small village of Latton, we are close to the A419 giving perfect access to M4 and M5, great for those staying away for work.
Living room with sofa, tv and dining table. Bedroom with double bed (with drawers underneath) and bedside tables. En-suite with shower, WC and sink There is no kitchen, but kettle, toaster, microwave and small fridge provided. Sole use, secure bike / boot store attached to the rear of the annex - great for walking and cycling. Please let us know if you wish to use this and we will provide keys.
The Cotswold Water Park is all around us, great for walking and cycling or sailing, canoeing and swimming for the more adventurous. The market town of Cirencester (aka the capital of the Cotswolds) is 5 miles away.
  • Good place to stay; great hosts & nice home from home

    Lorraine2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jon & Laura’s place was great! There is a living room with sofa & TV, as well as an area to make tea/coffee/snacks and a small table a chairs (there was also a kettle, toaster, microwave and small fridge). The bedroom was lovely, with an extremely comfortable bed (which is a must for me!). There is an ensuite shower room off the bedroom which was very stylish and had lovely thick fluffy towels! Communication with Laura was great and I was able to check in early as there was no one staying there the night before. The location was also very good, just a couple of minutes drive to Cotswolds Water Park. I would definitely stay here again!

    Claire2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the cotswolds. Absolutely lovely hosts and a really comfortable and clean place! Thank you so so much!

  • Brilliant location, clean and stylish space. Jon and Laura delightful.

    Alison2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights to celebrate our anniversary and it was such a lovely weekend. Laura was very communicative throughout the whole stay but didn't intrude. There was a lovely homely feel to the annexe that made us feel relaxed almost instantly. The bed was comfy and the en suite was beautiful! There is a microwave, fridge and toaster in the annexe which is perfect for a couple of nights. It is a short drive to Cricklade where there are a few shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a home away from home.

  • A very comfortable, relaxing stay in Latton at Jon and Laura's accommodation. Great hosts and great place for a retreat. Highly recommend it!

    Jon2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jon and Lauras annex is a brilliant a place to stay! From the start communicating was quick and simple, the check-in was particularly good with very clear instructions and after that I was left to come and go as I pleased. The location is great, being near to the A419 (yet far enough away!), close to the Cotswolds Water Park and some very lovely Cotswold villages. I enjoyed a run one morning along the local footpaths. The annex itself is perfect, a really fantastically equipped space, comfortable and cosy bedroom and surprisingly roomy bathroom/shower. Can’t fault it! I would return without doubt!

  • An incredible stay overlooking a beautiful lake setting. Mims was so helpful with instructions and information. We were wowed by the interior which is exactly as the photos show and it was spotless. A great stay in a lovely setting - we will be back

  • What a wonderful place! 3 of us met for a much needed girly weekend and it was totally perfect! It was cosy, warm, sparkling clean and it had everything we needed! The lake view was lovely, especially in the morning as we watched the sparkling rain dance off the water! I can highly recommend this wonderful chalet to everyone!

    Pollyanna2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the chalet. I was a little apprehensive if it would have enough space for 2 adults and 2 kids but the chalet was perfect and really well organised and so clean. Also loved the lake views especially at dawn. Would definitely love to come back.

    Jyotsna2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sparking clean and exactly like the pictures. Very cosy and Mims even left some snacks for us to enjoy on our arrival - a thoughtful and nice touch. The communication was fantastic and she even let us check in a little early. Great stay and host.

  • Amazing place, definitely will be back.

    Alexandru2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as shown in the photos. Great place to stay.

    Sharon2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet is situated in a very beautiful resort, facing a small lake with lots of ducklings and waterfowl, beautiful swan, very quiet, neighbors are local friendly. The resort has all the bar restaurants and entertainment facilities, outdoor boating and swimming, and a children's playground. Adults and children are not bored. Next to the resort is a large natural lake. The lakeside tree-lined road is suitable for morning walks and watching the sunset. The cabin sparrow is small and complete, and it is more than enough to live in a family or two or three friends. There are a number of small towns in the cotswolds, all within an hour's drive from Shakespeare's House and Oxford. Unfortunately, our stay was too short to play in Bath, because it looks very close to here. This is our best way to stay away from London and drive the English countryside. The only downside to the cabin is that the smoke alarm is too sensitive and the cooking surface will whistle.

Two adjoining private fishing lakes in the Cotswold Water Park surrounded by trees and grassy walks are the setting for this Architect designed very contemporary Lodge. Serious carp fishing and also a trout lake. Relaxing comfort in a beautiful park with great gastro pubs, shopping and exciting activities nearby. The Lodges are adults only, we don't accommodate children. Sorry, NO pets or smoking allowed on any premises also.
Little Horseshoe Lake is very well stocked with some famous carp which weigh in up to 40 lbs. Bring your own equipment or hire from the Tackle Den which is about a mile away. The trout lake has brown and rainbow trout. Experienced fishermen welcome or lessons through the Tackle Den.
The neighbourhood is full of lakes which were originally gravel pits. They have matured into a wonderful parkland and offer many activities. South Cerney is a very old village with 2 pubs and a few small shops. It dates back to the 10th century. Cirencester offers excellent shopping, markets, and good cafes and restaurants, also it has probably the best small museum in England and a magnificent Church. Within walking distance is the De Vere Hotel which has an attractive bar, restaurant and Spa.
  • This lodge is absolutely beautiful, wonderfully located and simply gorgeous! The space is immaculate, spacious and incredibly designed. We hardly wanted to leave and enjoyed relaxing by the fire when it was wet out. We stayed for the weekend and are longing to come again, thank you!

  • Had an awesome stay, the lodge is both spacious and stylish. The check-in process was straightforward, communication was excellent throughout with plenty of local recommendations provided. Florina provided great hospitality by arranging candles and rose petals throughout the lodge - a great thoughtful touch! Thoroughly recommend to all, will definitely return.

  • I booked the lodge as a surprise for mine and my husbands 2nd wedding anniversary! We were absolutely blown away from the moment we arrived. The Lodge is just breath takingly beautiful and in such wonderful surroundings. The serenity is unreal and just what we wanted I couldn’t have made a more perfect choice! The whole place was just immaculate from top to bottom. We had the Canadian geese and swans visit us every time we stepped out the door which was lovely. I enjoyed a glass of red by the log fire at night and a cuppa in the morning..... :-) The lodge had everything we needed for a long weekend. And looking forward to our next visit! I would absolutely recommend the lodge for a romantic getaway YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

    Hayley Louise2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely stunning, spotlessly clean, high standard little touches, and incredibly serene. It’s truly one of the most beautiful places to spend a quite weekend away. The lake is stunning paired with breathtaking sunsets. We were met with two beautiful swans, paired geese and an array of diverse wildlife everyday, we could not have asked for any more! Winter there is perfect and I’m sure summer would be extremely special too. Highly recommend! Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • The Island Lodge is one of the most beautiful unique places we have ever stayed in, in the UK. We fell in love with the place! The lodge was spotless on arrival, and the interior is such an amazing spec. Sometimes pics can be deceiving, however the Island Lodge was even better than expected. Close by is the Gateway Cafe which does amazing food, and the lake it sits on is so peaceful and quiet, you can’t help but feel totally hidden away. A complete gem, anyone booking will be delighted I’m sure!

  • This was an excellent place to stay. The chalet was very clean with all the amenities we needed. Mick made our check in and out easy and convenient. Would highly recommend for couples or families to stay here.

  • Great place! Everything you need for a lovely holiday. Mick provided practically everything you would need and lives close by if you need any help. The site is really well kept and there are good amenities for both kids and the rest of the family. Lovely base to explore the local area. The little Shop on site stated that it opens again in February 2020 - so take what you need with you (or go to the local shops which are about 8 miles away).

  • I used this challet 2 weeks in a row with 2 different parties. The Host was exceptional in his turn around for this, not only that but actually calling me to personally check we arrived safely. Can not fault one part of this stay, fantastic and would recommend!! We will be coming back!

Lovely clean bedding and the kitchen was modern and well equipped. The site has a fantastic indoor pool, (which is really warm!), and the kids loved the two adventure playgrounds.

The Potting Shed is the quintessential 5* Cotswold escape. Following an 18 month restoration completed in May 2019, this stone barn conversion is the perfect retreat. Located within the grounds of an elegant Grade II listed Georgian town house on Cecily Hill - voted one of the prettiest streets in England, this romantic getaway is accessed by a private stone bridge which leads through through a formal kitchen garden to a stunning private terrace.
COVID-19 POTTING SHED UPDATE - Your safety and protection is our top priority, we are deep cleaning the Potting Shed between visits and have plenty of anti-bacterial wipes and hand wash throughout the property. In addition you are totally isolated, with your own private entrances, plenty of private outside space and the largest park (Cirencester Park) in the county right on your doorstep to roam around in complete privacy. As of 21/3/20 Most restaurants/Pubs are offering take away and delivery services. Further details will be listed in our guidebook as they become available. Send us a message, we are here to help! The Potting Shed is a self-contained converted stone barn which occupies 550 sq ft of living space and has a generous 200 sq ft private terrace. This gorgeous hideaway sits in our grounds but, with its own separate entrance, it is a very private and quiet cottage. Following an extensive restoration from the ground up in 2018/19, we have used local materials and Cotswold craftsmanship to create a retreat that’s been decorated to a very high standard throughout using beautiful fittings, Farrow and Ball paints and designer fabrics. Upstairs under the eaves, with their original lime-washed oak beams and exposed Cotswold stone walls, are 4 heritage double glazed conservation windows, fitted with black out blinds for the light early mornings. The queen sized (1400) pocket sprung bed with luxurious 400 thread Egyptian cotton pressed linen (Nb. Can also be set up as a twin room) occupies one end of the bedroom while a generous cupboard sits at the other end with a hanging rail and masses of hangers for your clothes and space for your bags. All the upstairs lighting controls are conveniently located next to both sides of the bed. In addition, there is a DAB Roberts radio on the bedside table. Downstairs features a great living space with excellent wifi and underfloor heating installed throughout. There’s a fully equipped kitchen containing a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge with ice compartment, gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine and masses of kitchen utensils, pots and pans… so if you fancy dining in, there’s everything you need to create delicious meals while the drop-leaf dining table can be extended from 2 to 4 places. In the cosy living area, there’s a deep sofa and a 4k TV with access to both Catch-up and Netflix. Finally, for those chilly evenings, a stylish Chesneys gas fire will keep you lovely and warm and as it’s operated by remote control, you need only to lift a finger ! The luxurious bathroom is also located downstairs and is equipped with underfloor heating and high end fittings such as a Hanns Grohe shower, Burlington taps and natural Bramley bathroom products, all designed for complete indulgence. To ensure your stay is as comfortable as can be, we’ve kitted out the cottage with a fully integrated heating system operated by Nest, which also controls the underfloor heating. But your safety is vital so we’ve also installed an intelligent AutoMist® fire suppression system. Outside, the terrace is perfectly set-up for alfresco drinks and dining and it is there exclusively for your use. There is a shared formal kitchen garden / potager, bordered by a mature hedge which forms the boundary of the shared space, beyond which the rest of the garden is private. The Gumstool Brook bridge was also rebuilt last year and the iron decorative railings and pillars which we added won the Cirencester 2019 Civic Design award. Checking-in, Dropping off & Parking The Potting Shed is set up for self check-in, with a keypad entry system on the bridge and a key safe by the front door. Unfortunately, we do not provide parking on site, however there is a drop off point at the end of the Gumstool Brook path, where guests can unload. Cars can be parked at The Old Station, The Brewery, Waterloo or The Beeches car parks; there is also free off-street parking on Barton Lane (subject to availability) just 3 minutes’ walk away. Alternatively, private parking can be arranged for a small charge 5 minutes walk away, including a Type 2 EV charge point. For those travelling without a car, Kemble train station is situated 10 minutes from Cirencester – and trains from London take 1hr 20mins. From May until September, the beautiful Cirencester open air swimming pool, with its warm spring-fed water, is open from 7am. It’s a couple of minutes' walk along from the Gumstool Brook bridge so why not go for a refreshing early morning dip!
We are located in perhaps the most beautiful and convenient location in Cirencester. The local pub and best restaurants in town are 90 seconds away and if you enjoy a good walk, we are right next to the entrance of Cirencester park and estate owned by Lord and Lady Bathurst with a cafe, miles and miles of walking, Cirencester cricket club, tennis courts and polo which is played throughout the summer. Bring your walking boots or don’t and just sit in this wonderful park and watch the world go by.. last but not least there is the recently refurbished open air pool, 1 minute walk away and open throughout the summer.
  • The Potting Shed is in the heart of Cirencester and is a fantastic location (a couple of minutes walk to restaurants, shops, pubs and the park). It is absolutely beautiful, extremely clean, well equipped and has the extra touches (water, jam, croissants, books). The bed is extremely comfy and the communication with Dominic & Alexandra was really quick and nothing was too much trouble. The photos do not do the Potting Shed justice and would love to stay here again when we are back to explore more of the Cotswolds!

  • If you are thinking of staying here then do not hesitate and book now! The potting shed is beautiful, spotless, perfectly located and just an ideal little hideaway. Dominic always responded to emails very quickly and was kind enough to come and meet us to check in, giving us advice on parking and restaurants etc. Cannot stress enough how lovely the place is and we literally didn’t want to leave. Already discussing when we can fit in another visit. Would highly recommend.

  • We are a bit experienced in renting holidayhomes and we think this is the top: - very clean house - very quiet house - very charming decorated - very comfortable - with complete privacy - with a park, a swimming pool and a lovely citycentre around the corner. - and last but definitely not least: Alexandra and Dominic are truly friendly hosts, who made us feel coming home. We strongly recommend The Potting Shed!

  • Wonderful experience staying at The Potting Shed! Dominic and Alexandra are quick to respond to questions and tips for parking and things to do about town are so helpful. Would definitely stay again!

    Ashley2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, stylish and well equipped property with excellent touches throughout. Dominic and Alexandra have clearly put a lot of thought and energy into it. The location is another huge plus, quiet and peaceful but only a few minutes walk away from the shops and restaurants.

Beautiful 18th-century Beehive Cottage, in the Cotswold village of Poulton, sleeps 6 guests across one king-size, one double and one twin bedroom. The cottage has a very well- equipped kitchen, a spacious living room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, a separate Snug with a work area, a spacious family bathroom with a bath and a downstairs shower room/utility. Outside is a large, pretty garden and off-street parking for two cars, with free on street parking readily available.
Introduction As you pull onto the gravelled drive at Beehive Cottage, in the village of Poulton, you’ll immediately feel a sense of serenity as the history and beauty of the cottage greets you. It is an archetypal Cotswold property, built in the 1760’s with Victorian additions – the type of home you see featured in property magazines and wish you could stay! The owner has renovated Beehive Cottage very sympathetically, maintaining the traditional character of the cottage yet providing every modern convenience with a contemporary but stunning interior design – including richly pigmented, eco-friendly Farrow & Ball paints - plus everything you need for a thoroughly pampered, self-catered Cotswold holiday. Beehive Cottage’s front door is framed by wisteria and passionflower, with thick swathes of lavender in the garden’s raised beds, attracting butterflies and bees in the summertime. French doors open from the Kitchen-Dining area to an outdoor seating area, which wraps round the cottage to further seating and a barbecue. Steps leads up to a lawn, with mature planting, and a second large table, where you can sit and enjoy the last rays of evening sunshine looking back towards the cottage. The traditional character of Beehive Cottage, including a stunning inglenook fireplace (with a secret stone staircase behind winding up to Bedroom 3), original oak beams and exposed Cotswold stone walls combines fabulously with the carefully chosen modern amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen with 6-ring hob, a shower/utility room, a family bathroom, WiFi, a Smart TV, Bose speaker, a Snug with work area (for guests who have to check in to the office) and exquisite, decorations throughout the cottage that have been hand-painted by the owner. Poulton is a small but thriving Cotswold village with a traditional British pub, The Falcon Inn, serving British modern food, and featuring locally brewed cask ales. The village has a church (St Michael’s and All Angels) and a children's playground and playing field, called ‘Englands’, directly across the lane from the cottage. A traditional summer fete is held each year on the first Sunday after the August Bank Holiday. The closest food shops to the cottage are in Fairford, approximately 3 miles away (see ‘Local Amenities’). (please note: Poulton no longer has a village shop.)  FACILITIES  Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms across 1 king-size double bedroom, 1 standard double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom (2 singles)  2 bathrooms: 1 family bathroom (Bath, toilet, wash basin); 1 ground floor shower room (walk-in shower, toilet, wash basin)  Parking: driveway, with parking space for two cars. Two sofas and an armchair provide comfy seating for six guests to watch the Smart TV and enjoy the wood burning stove, while a window seat is the perfect place to perch and read a book. During renovation work, a stone stairway was unearthed behind the fireplace, leading up to the twin bedroom; providing a fascinating glimpse into the cottage’s past. (Although the staircase is open, the owners do not recommend using it as it is steep, narrow and uneven. A lock is provided on the twin bedroom door to prevent younger guests in that bedroom from using the staircase.) The cottage’s main staircase leads up from the Living Room to the three bedrooms and Family Bathroom Turn left down two stone steps to: The Snug-Study A delightful room between the kitchen and Living Room featuring flagstone flooring with a cosy, richly coloured rug, a desk (with pens, paper and colouring pencils), an antique glass-fronted bookcase with novels and local guides, and a two-seater leather sofa and an armchair with a footstool, perfectly placed to watch a meal being prepared or relax in the quiet of the Snug. Pass through an arch to: The Kitchen/Dining Area The bright and airy dual-aspect kitchen/dining room has French doors opening out to the garden and seating area, and a window over the sink overlooking the barbecue area. The kitchen is fully equipped to a very high standard, with everything you would need for a self-catered stay, including a Leisure range-style electric cooker, with a double oven, grill and six-ring hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine, plus a superb range of crockery, bakeware, cutlery and glassware. Guests are provided with a starter supply of essentials, including teabags, Nespresso pods, instant coffee, fresh milk, oils, salt and pepper and cooking condiments. The large dining table comfortably seats six guests. Off the Living Room: Shower Room/Utility Through a door off the Living Room is the handy downstairs Shower Room/Utility with a walk-in corner shower (with hand-held and overhead shower), toilet, wash basin and heated towel radiator. The cottage’s Hotpoint washing machine is in this room, along with an outdoor and indoor airer for drying clothes, an iron and ironing board. Upstairs Stairs up from the Living Room lead to the carpeted landing and the cottage’s three bedrooms: Bedroom Three The first bedroom at the top of the stairs is the pretty twin bedroom, with exposed oak eaves, charming artwork, two single beds and a day sofa, all carefully arranged to provide plenty of room to walk around. The bedroom is furnished with bedside chests and lamps, a corner hanging rail, and a lovely window seat overlooking the garden’s outdoor seating area. A door at the back of the room opens to the steep, secret staircase down to the Living Room. This door can be bolted to stop young children using it. Bedroom Two Cross the landing to Beehive’s king-size bedroom, with its soft-yellow walls and accents of pink and red. Guests can watch the world go by, sitting in the window seat while reading a book from the wide selection of novels from the bedroom’s bookcase. The room is furnished with a sink-in KING bed, half-height wardrobe, a bedside chest of drawers with a reading light, and an impressive mirror. Hairdryer in drawer. Bedroom One At the end of the landing, up two stairs, is the master bedroom, affectionately known by the owner as the Butterfly Room, which features a sink-in, double-size bed and walls decorated with beautifully hand-painted butterflies. The room is furnished with a handsome, cherry wood chest of drawers and dressing table, bedside tables with reading lamps and a hanging rail with a shoe rack. With windows on three sides, overlooking the garden and the road below, the master bedroom is bright and light, but has exquisite hand-made, heavy curtains and a blind to ensure a really good night’s sleep. Family Bathroom Located next to Bedroom One, the Family Bathroom is practical yet exudes relaxation at the same time, with its painted wooden floor, half-panelled soft-grey walls and an intricately hand-painted partridge, complimented by a series of antique birds’ egg paintings. The bathroom features a full-length bath, with luxury bubble bath provided, a toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Outside Beehive Cottage has a charming garden with a lawn and a gravelled area with seating and parking for two cars. Wisteria and passionflower frame the front door and climb up to the bedroom windows, while in the summertime lavender blooms fill the air with their scent, attracting bees, butterflies and birds. Step through the French doors in the Kitchen to the outdoor seating area, with its oblong-shaped table, seating for eight and charcoal barbecue. Beyond the parking area, up a few steps, is an immaculate lawn with raised beds and an original beehive – no longer in use!

  • Beehive Cottage is a treasure, and we are so thankful for the privilege of having stayed in this wonderful home. We loved the care and thought that the owner put into restoring and updating her home, and we are so very grateful to the manager and caretaker for being such caring stewards of this masterpiece. Leaving was bittersweet - sad to go, but happy that we might visit again soon.

  • The perfect place for a cosy weekend getaway. Beehive Cottage is beautiful and none of us wanted to leave! It’s warm and inviting and the personal touches meant such a lot. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you could need, the sitting room is cosy with a lovely wood burner which is easy to use. The whole house is beautifully furnished and is a quintessential Cotswold cottage! My friends and I had the perfect weekend away and we will certainly come back to beautiful Beehive. Thank you so much!!

  • A lovely cottage in quiet village, ideal for family get away where you cater for yourselves. Nice inn nearby for good food at reasonable prices. Cottage is well furnished and cosy and log burner provides idyllic homely feel. Only drawback was draft through doors and not all doors to rooms close fully, which does lend itself to a spooky feel when they open when you're trying to sleep!

    Scott2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous cottage Beehive is. My friends and I had the most perfect stay made all the more wonderful by the well stocked kitchen, the lovely welcoming touches, the comfy beds and sofas and the roaring fire. The cottage has been renovated beautifully and it was a pleasure to stay in. We can HIGHLY recommend eating at The Falcon Inn next door (make sure you book). The little village of Bibury is a short drive away and well worth a visit. A couple of tips for the house - bring slippers as the stone floors are cold, and the complimentary logs last 1 evening and there is nowhere local to buy more once you’ve had a glass of wine or two! So bring wood with you or buy some along the way so you have plenty. We will most definitely be back :)

    Hannah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, cosy, well-stocked cottage - the perfect retreat for 3 couples and a baby. We loved all the features, allowing for long meals and games in front of the fire. The house was sparkling clean throughout and the beds were very comfortable. The attention to detail was second to none - and the hand painted decoration is stunning. We also loved the home baked cake for our arrival, much needed after a long drive! Thank you so much.

Refurbished apartment with a light and airy south facing view allowing sunshine all day through. The property is well designed, well-equipped, newly decorated and refurbished throughout to a high standard. Modern kitchen off the lounge/dining area fully fitted with good quality appliances including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, toaster, kettle & washing machine. Kitchen is well equipped with new Wi-Fi installed mid March 2018 as well as a new pump installed to improve water flow
I bought this property as it is situated in an Area of Natural Beauty (AONB), quite area surrounded by houses with lovely architecture and I love bird spotting. Its a great way to get away from the daily stress of work, to enjoy the lovely countryside and long walks with my family. Life is precious and every moment spent with family is a blessing. There are loads of nearby attractions and water activities to entertain my 13 and 15 year old. This is my retreat after a tiring work week.
Quiete residential area surrounded by nearby water parks and countryside with Swindon outlet centre nearby. The locals are really friendly and popular for daily walks.

  • A great house to enjoy a few days in the Cotswolds. The house is fantastic: modern, spotless, and really well kitted out with everything you need for a few days away. They've really put a lot of thought into the things you need as a family: a travel crib, extra blankets, a high chair and loads of plastic kids' plates, bowls and cups. The estate is lovely and peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

We are also within easy reach of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Swindon and Oxford.
  • Andy and Anne’s house was perfect for our weekend get away. Great location on the lakes with lots of walks and nice pubs near by. We went on a particularly wet weekend and the house was a great space to relax in out of the rain.

  • A wonderful get away with four old school friends! The house was perfect, amazingly clean and tidy, such comfortable beds and wonderful terrace right on the lake. A short drive to Cirencester and really enjoyed a glass of wine in the little bar that was part of the holiday village.

  • Great space for a girlie weekender; very comfortable and a nice location to spend time with friends. Lovely to be by the water. Would recommend!

  • Absolutely stunning place, beautifully quiet. The place is immaculate and genuinely feels like a home from home. Plenty of room, you can park right outside the front door. The cherry on top is the doors from the lounge that open on to the decking which overlooks the lake. The photographs don’t do the place justice, we had a great stay and would definitely visit again.

  • The house is sparkling clean, very beautiful, great view and the host is great as communication is responded by very fast. We had a great stay at Ian and Sharon’s place. Thank you! However, it would be much great if we don’t have to bring our own toiletries and remove beddings & rubbish ( not convenient for foreign tourist, but fine for the locals) and since we’re on holiday we don’t mind paying additional charges like cleaning fee for these items/services. Overall, I give a five star rating to them!

  • Had a lovely few days in the Turret house. Super cosy house, everything we needed. Kids loved the play areas and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside. Thanks again!

  • Our family has lived here for half a month, very happy, the children are also very happy, the room is very clean, the decoration is very tasteful, and the landlord is also very good. The days here are unforgettable in our lifetime, the view by the lake and the swans The comfortable bedding made me have to highly recommend it, we look forward to seeing it again next time

  • The house is a great place to stay and exactly as it is presented. It is clean well presented and very comfortable. We stayed over the Christmas period and Ian & Sharon made sure the house was feeling very Christmassy with a tree and decorations. Hope to visit again soon.

  • A great property for our weekend family getaway; unique design, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend it and would certainly return again. Thank you.

  • Ian & Sharon's house is lovely and cosy and its location is superb in South Cerney to travel to the attraction places nearby. Anyhow, there were 2 issues incurred during we stayed. The first incident was the TV in the living room was out of order, Ian bought a new larger LED flat screen to replace it the next morning. The second one was the lock mechanism of the bathroom's door stuck causing my daughter kept inside. He called the locksmith to fix it within an hour. From these incidents with prompt response, I couldn't agree more that they are rated as super hosts. Highly recommended.

Self-contained bedroom annexe with bathroom in the heart of a charming, quiet Cotswold village. Breakfast hamper with bread/pastries, preserves, fruit juice, milk, cereal and fruit. Friendly local pub serving good food. Access to Cotswold Water Park, Thames Path, Kemble Airfield and Cirencester with its shops and restaurants. The annexe is great for couple. An additional (small) single bed can be added for two friends sharing or for parents with a child (travel cot available for babies).
This is a newly decorated double room in a stone-built annexe separate to the main cottage, with it's own private access. It has a lovely oak bed with a new mattress and cotton sheets. The ensuite bathroom has a toilet and shower, towels, shampoo and other essentials.
We are located in a small village in the Cotswold Water Park, an area of lakes and countryside very popular for walks, watersports and nature reserves. The village has a lovely pub, The Bakers Arms, which serves lunches and evening meals. Nearby Cirencester, with it’s roman museum and parish church, is known as the capital of the Cotswolds. We are a perfect base to explore this wonderful area, and are on the Thames path very close to the source. We are 25 minutes by car from Cheltenham and Stroud and an hour from Oxford, Bath and Bristol. The local area offers an abundance of beautiful market towns and villages and there are many fantastic pubs nearby.
  • We loved our stay. Beautiful area, lovely complimentary breakfast, easy parking and location. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

  • This Annexe is located in a wonderful spot with easy access to local amenities, the Cotswold Water parks and Cirencester. It is in a very quiet spot which offers privacy within a delightful community. The Host, Mair, is incredibly helpful and accommodating - she is excellent at responding to emails, and I had everything I needed. The Annexe was very clean, comfortable, and had all the basic needs. There bedding, towels etc. were plentiful and in great condition. Overall, I would highly recommend this property.

    Philip2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Expect all you need, in an easy to access compact village location. Mair is thoughtful and considerate, she provides all for daily living. The village is quiet, with local walks on the doorstep along with local pub. Its great to come back to the cottage from chilly walks knowing there's heating and a kettle with nibbles.

  • We enjoyed a lovely weekend at Talliers Cottage. The weather was awful so we were really pleased to have a nice space to relax in, as well being literally a few steps from the town centre cafes, pubs and shops etc. The space had all we needed and the airing rack was very helpful for drying our drenched clothes. Parking wasn't an issue in the Waterloo and we were able to pay for the following day's parking after 6.00pm so that the ticket was on display from 8am the following morning - £6.50 for all day parking. The place was clean and breakfast provisions were appreciated . We look forward to staying in Talliers again on our next visit to the Cotswolds. Thanks again p.s. lots of good places to eat - Cote Brassiere and Tierra and Mar were excellent

  • Jo and Barry’s house is absolutely wonderful. It is exactly like the pictures, it has everything we needed and more. The sound system is brilliant, the board games are a really nice touch, and the dvd selection is massive. The best thing about this place is the hot tub that overlooks the lake, we enjoyed it very much during the cold evenings. The rooms are spacious and modern. And last but not least, the chocolate cake was absolutely delicious, especially alongside the proseco bottle that was there to welcome us when we first arrived. The house is definitely luxurious and very much recommend for anyone who wants to escape the busy city life. Thank you Jo and Barry for an amazing stay.
