Marshlands Lakeside Nature Retreat. Ideal for self-isolating ! Cabin right by the lake at Waters' Edge SSSI Nature Reserve. Stunning views of the reserve and Humber Bridge beyond. The cabin is surrounded by nature and wildlife. Fabulous walks and cycling routes right from the doorstep. Close to parks, art, culture, public transport, and the city centre. You’ll love the views, location, and cosiness. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and families.
This is a nature/bird lovers paradise. You are not surrounded by anyone or anything, except nature ! The cabin is spacious for two, ranging to compact for 5, but has everything you need for comfort and relaxation. As well as all the wildlife we have our own mini menagerie for guests to meet if they wish - 1 dog, 2 ponies, 2 sheep, guinea pigs, chickens, ferrets, degus, guinea fowl and goldfish.
Barton is a lovely little town with plenty of places to eat and 7 pubs ! 'The Ropery' nearby is a great place for live entertainment such as comedy, musicians and theatre - check out their website to see what's on when you're here - they have some great acts. Waters' Edge Nature Reserve and the iconic Humber Bridge are the view from the living room. The viking way starts by the river. There are lovely walks right from our doorstep, long or short, Barry will plan you a route if required - just ask! Far Ings and several other nature reserves are also close by. Hull - City of Culture 2017 is just over the bridge, it has many tourist attractions. Yorkshire is within easy driving distance - and its many tourist attractions. Cleethorpes beach resort is approx 30 mins drive. York - historic city, lots of attractions there. Its an hour away by car. Lincoln - historic city with famous cathedral. Its an hour away. Flamborough/ Bempton Cliffs reserve - great place for bird watching over the cliffs. About 1hr 20mins away. Lots of local bird/ nature walks right on our doorstep - Waters' Edge reserve, Far Ings reserve, Barrow Haven, the River Humber/ Humber Bridge etc. Barry can do you a route map if you wish. Yorkshire Wildlife Park - great day out if you like animals- about 50 mins away. Normanby Park and Burton Constable Hall - 2 stately homes local to us - about 20 mins away. Cleethorpes - typical English coastal resort, 30 mins away.
  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! What a feast for the eyes and the soul. We loved our stay. Amanda is so welcoming. The place was great with everything you’d need and it was lovely and warm (we stayed during storm Jorge). The highlight is definitely the birds and animals. Sitting feeding ducks while drinking coffee in the morning, what a treat. Loads of places to walk too. Local amenities were all close by too. Definitely recommend staying here. We didn’t want to leave.

    Newly decorated and furnished for 2019, you enter your private suite on the ground floor, walking straight into the new beautifully fitted kitchen complete with appliances, elegant dining area perfect for relaxed and cozy romantic candle lit dinners. Upstairs and you enter your warm living area with a small balcony with views of Baysgarth Park, furnished with sofa and matching chairs, soft lighting and a smart tv leading into the bedroom with it’s sumptuous antique french bed and en-suite.
    When you arrive at the property you’ll enter through electric gates onto a large drive with plenty of space to park, my house is opposite the Elliott suite and I’m here to help in anyway possible to make sure you have a great time. There are large gardens mainly laid to lawn with a 10m x 5m outdoor pool There is also a hot tub available for use all year round. The pool and the hot tub are exclusively for guest use. The Elliott suite has a newly fitted kitchen which is equipped with a ceramic hob and oven, washing machine and tumble dryer, full size fridge and freezer and all the cooking utensils you’ll need to whip up a romantic meal.
    The Elliott Suite is situated in a quiet town just 10 minutes from the M62 with several bars and restaurants within walking distance. There is a local history museum in Baysgarth Park as well The Old Tileworks Museum on the banks of the River Humber. Hull city centre is just 8 miles away across the Humber Bridge.
  • My husband and I stayed in the Elliot Suite for a very rare night away from the kids. The property was simply breathtaking will beautiful decor and little touches throughout. It was really lovely to have all the breakfast items in the fridge, including milk & juice for the morning. The hot tub was fantastic, it’s in its own gazebo type housing and a nice & private space to relax with Alexa in the hot tub house being a great treat to listen to music whilst we were relaxing. The hosts were really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I will definitely be back here as it’s one of the best places I’ve stayed. Thank you Lucy & Stuart!

  • The Elliott suite was exactly what we wanted: fantastically chilled and comfortable - and there was a hot tub! We literally stayed for one very spontaneous night after a trip abroad got cut short, so the fact that Lucy met us with wine, and had stocked the fridge with breakfast was much appreciated and especially thoughtful. It exceeded our expectations, the house is much bigger than the pictures suggest and the views are amazing. The outdoor space is lovely. She has fairy lights, huge speakers and a disco ball so it was the perfect place, the hot tub was the cherry on top :)

    A cosy cottage retreat in the rural countryside. Set in a small village location, The Barn offers a peaceful place to stay while you enjoy the surroundings. A fully furnished and self contained space, perfect for a couple. Alkborough offers some fantastic walks, cycle routes and excellent bird watching opportunities. Clean, friendly dogs are very welcome to stay too.
    We offer an open plan ground floor with Kitchen, Dining and Living areas. The Living area offers a sofa bed for additional guests. The first floor offers a double bed, plenty of storage space and an ensuite with bath and shower. There are plenty of original features and quirky characteristics in The Barn.
    Alkborough, located in North Lincolnshire, is a very peaceful and friendly village located on The Cliff range of hills, overlooking Trent Falls, the confluence of the River Trent and the River Ouse. Within the village is The Paddocks tea room, open Thursday to Sunday. There is also a village club open weekdays from 5pm and weekends from 12 noon inviting anyone for a warm and welcoming drink. Opposite the club is Julians Bower which is a turf maze standing on the hillside, overlooking the confluence. This is an ideal starting point for walks, including the Trent Valley Way and the Nev Cole Way.

The bedrooms have a private bathroom. There is a living room with TV and kitchen diner for you to use. You can also make tea and coffee in the bedrooms.
    North Newbald is a picturesque village set on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. The Grade 1 listed Church is the most complete example of Norman architecture in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Gnu Inn and Tiger Inn are situated on the village green and serve delicious food. We are 40 minutes from York, 20 minutes from Kingston Upon Hull, 15 minutes to Beverley and Pocklington.

  • This was my second time staying with Lynn and again it exceeded my expectations (see below for earlier review). It can feel lonely and daunting when commuting and travelling solo but Lynn’s place feels like going from home to home and it’s also very safe to stay in. The house is very clean and the bedroom is beautifully furnished. The cost per night is extremely reasonable especially as breakfast is available and the rooms have en suite. Lynn has a fantastic sense of humour and really lovely to chat to. This property comes with my highest recommendation. Thank you so much for having me 😄

  • No surprise that Lynn is a superhost! Her home is cosy, comfortable and clean. The photos do not do the house justice! I fell in love with it straight away. Staying at Lynn’s was like going from home to home especially as she went out of her way to make me feel at home. We stayed in the room with the king size bed and I loved the fact that the room had an en suite, this is what made the property even more unique for me. There is a pub nearby, and Market Weighton is just a few minutes drive away where there is access to more shops/restaurants. This is one of the few properties where breakfast is provided and we really appreciated this, the price is extremely reasonable and I would have expected to pay more for an en-suite room plus breakfast. I really enjoyed my chats with Lynn. It was really easy to communicate with Lynn prior to my stay and she answered any questions that I had. Anyone looking for a break from the city or looking to work in York and the surrounding areas - I would strongly recommended staying with Lynn. I would definitely stay here again.

Its around a 20minute walk to the centre of Beverley and Tesco, its a lovely walk. Judith and Beatrix left us lots of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, and other things. Plenty of clean towels in the cupboard and a lovely soft duvet. We were very comfortable.

    Lovely spacious king sized room with ensuite facility. The room is located on the second floor of our detached house and you will have sole access to this area. The room is big enough to accommodate a settee and tv so guests can use this space to relax an unwind. The house is at the bottom end of a quiet cul de sac at the southern end of the village. There are two fantastic pubs within walking distance and there are lots of walks, cycling, routes right on the door step.

You will have sole access to the second floor.     Quiet culdesac location at the southern end of the village. This room is located in a beautiful hamlet in the East Riding if Yorkshire. It is situated approx 12 miles from Hull city centre and 7 miles from Beverley. The Yorkshire wolds way is right on our door step with day/stage 2 usually departing from this location. The village is blessed to be in the middle of some fantastic walking and cycling territory. If you love the outdoors this place will definitely not disappoint.

    You are welcome to stay in my home where you can access a private double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. My home is in a quiet location on the Trans Pennine Trail and is within walking distance of the train station at Brough and also to the bus station in Elloughton. It is within a couple of minutes drive to the A63 which has easy access to Hull and the M62. It is also a short taxi ride to local wedding venues such as Cave Castle, Little Wold Vineyard & Rowley Manor.
    You have access to a private double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor and also downstairs there is a private living space available with log burner and TV. You can also use the kitchen to cook and dine in or if I have food on the go make a small contribution towards the evening meal. A light breakfast is provided.
    Elloughton is a large village next to Brough and Welton within a minutes drive of the A63. It offers easy access to Hull and the M62. Nearby there are supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and cafes. It is convenient for access to the Trans Pennine Trail and the Wolds Way. (Secure bike storage is available)

  • This is my third time staying at Carole’s. Carole is an absolute gem and really does go above and beyond for her guests. She also holds a cracking conversation! This time, although it’s only breakfast included, Carole offered me something to eat out of her own food when I arrived late afternoon. I politely declined as I felt bad considering it was her food and ordered myself a takeout. Carole then offered the same thing again the following day as I had surgery the following afternoon, however I wasn’t overly hungry and just snacked on a few items. Not only did Carole offer this but she also came to pick me up after my surgery to bring me back. On checkout day, she even offered to get a bus with myself as she was travelling to Hull and get off at my the station just to help me carry my suitcase. Honestly I cannot thank this woman or recommend her enough she is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for everything Carole and I look forward to staying with you again in the future.

Most important is that in one day , she made a connection with me and my challenges. She helped in all the possible ways so that i could have give my Oral exams with peace . Carole is a lovely person, and most definitely deserves her Super-host status! The room was spotless, and the bed was so comfortable Carole has a beautiful house in a superb location -with a nice well maintained Garden quiet and peaceful Excellent host - Beautiful home - superb, quiet location - public transport very close. And that’s exactly what it is! Has everything you could ask for and more! Met Louise on day of check in and she showed me around the cottage and gave a local insight to where the nearest things were for my stay and made me feel very welcome! I settled straight in as the cottage has everything you need! On every Friday a cleaner would come and spruce up, change the bedding and towels etc. The cottage is located in a lovely village with a big Tesco just 10 mins away (also has a great chip shop!) I can’t fault this cottage at all, it was perfect for my stay and just what I needed. I can’t thank Louise enough for letting me stay and if ever I’m working around the area again I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. In fact - I was actually sad to leave!

The whole cottage had everything we needed for the two of us. The garden is beautiful, especially in the sun - having breakfast outside was a joy! The cottage is located in the lovely, quiet village of North Cave which was a great base for exploring East Yorkshire. There's a local shop around 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Louise is a delightful host and provided us with lots of information for exploring the surrounding areas, she even provided tea and coffee as well as eggs for breakfast. If you're looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay and are exploring East Yorkshire then I definitely recommend Bay Tree Cottage.

Car parking was tight, due to the length of our car, however, the gentleman who parked his car opposite, opened his gate to allow more room and then parked the car for us, beat that for hospitality/friendliness. Can recommend the pizza place next door, so much choice and food was delicious. My only criticism is that their delivery driver constantly slammed the shop and car door, which did disturb my sleep. Scott was very responsive to messages. The check in and out process was simple. Beverley is such a lovely place, with such friendly people, definitely worth a visit.

    Our lovely house is in quiet street in Hessle, 5 miles from Hull. There's a few restaurants, cafes, shops & a country park by the Humber Bridge. There's regular buses & trains to Hull to visit museums, theatre etc. The large bedroom has a double bed & TV & you are welcome to use rest of house. We have a very good Collie-cross dog who loves visitors & is fine if you needed to bring your dog too (as long as not left in house without you). Self-serve breakfast provided - cereals, toast, fruit etc.
    The house is well decorated and maintained in keeping with its Victorian origins so it provides a comfortable and homely place to stay. We love meeting new people and are happy to give advice or information about local amenities, travel or events in the area.
    Hessle is a small town with a shopping area, cafes and a few restaurants, a couple of parks and good transport links to Hull. The train station and bus stop are both within walking distance from our house. The Humber Bridge is about 1 mile away and provides great views for pedestrians or cyclists and there is a lovely country park by - good for dog walks! The Wolds Way starts from near the Humber Bridge within walking distance from the house.

    We are offering a double room with ensuite and private entrance separate from the family home. This room has been purposely designed as a guest room and has a desk for using a laptop or doing paperwork, a wardrobe with hangers and shelves, facilities for making a hot drink. We will always be at hand if there is anything else that you may need.
    Barton-upon-Humber is close to Humberside Airport, The Humber Bridge, and the East coast. In the town we have many cafe's, restaurants and takeaways, all within 5 minutes walk from our home. For Breakfasts you are spoilt for choice at the Singing Kettle Cafe or maybe a spot of lunch at Cobblers. Fancy a Pint? The White Swan is an award winning pub just round the corner. They serve great food and guest beers. If you like history make sure you visit our museums at Baysgarth house, wilderspin school and the Ropewalk. Barton and the Humber Bank are very popular with photographers and walkers due to its nature reserves and natural beauty. All this is within walking distance of our home.

It is a lovely little property and very well equipped with induction hob, coffee pod machine, dish-washer, washing machine smart tv and wifi. The property also has its own designated parking space and patio. Local amenities include supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, takeaways and ice cream parlour not to mention umpteen quaint shops.
    Equidistant between York and Hull, Market Weighton is on The Wolds Way, ever popular with walkers and cyclists. Also bird watchers will love being near to Bempton Cliffs at Bridlington which less than 40 mins drive. Close by we have a choice of excellent restaurants and great local pubs.
    Famous for the Wolds Way and Giant Bradley (Market Weightons own giant!). York with all its glorious roman history, city walls and museums plus its first class racecourse is 1/2 an hour away and the East coast is also close by. Also just a 10 minutes drive to the beautiful historic town of Beverley with its Cathedral and racecourse.

  • What a little gem this place is! We booked with quite short notice but John emailed us straight away and when we asked to stay another couple of nights, he emailed back within 10 minutes. We found the place really easily with his directions and gained entry via the keysafe. The heating was already on for us and the place was spotlessly clean. John and Val had very kindly left us some tea bags and milk etc so we were able to get straight on with our holiday. The place itself is compact but has everything we needed. A well appointed kitchen/lounge/dining area downstairs all in 1 room and up the stairs to shower room with toilet and a double bedroom. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the bed is really comfy and there is plenty of hot water. The house is located a stones throw from at least 4 nice pubs and there is an abundance of restaurants and take aways. John was able to recommend a few and on following these up, were not disappointed. There are some nice shops including pharmacy, hardware shop and a grocery shop and a Tesco superstore 4 minutes drive away on the edge of town. The town even has its own historical giant! The town is well located for those wishing to explore historic York, the amazing free museums in Hull or a day out at the seaside. John has left some visitors info with nice walks and places to visit. We’ve had no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this place to friends and family and we hope to return next year for another mini break. Well done John and Val

The decor was modern and trendy and the property was immaculately clean with everything that we needed for a home from home feel to our getaway. The use of toiletries and kitchen supplies was great-it was nice to have bread, jams, butter and milk as a welcome pack. Parking in the layby outside the property was ideal and the bed was extremely comfortable too! The town itself has plenty of takeaways, pubs, quaint shops and a tesco supermarket (with petrol station) as back up. It's an ideal base to explore nearby Hull and York.   • A great apartment very close to the centre of Beverley. No need to drive once you’re there. Parking is outside with a permit, thank you Colin! Train station is literally down the road. Beverley is great for shopping with independent shops as well as high street shops. Great cafes and pubs and restaurants. Smashing all round!

  • The location was fantastic, close to the station and very near town. The parking was way as well so could not have asked for a better location. Most of the apartment was great but the bedroom was a bit cosy, especially if there were two large/tall people. Enjoyed our stay and would look to return Thanks very much

He left us a lovely basket of groceries to get us started The location is brilliant in fact once you’ve parked your car if you are staying around Beverley you can walk everywhere.
