  • Great stay

    David2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay- we had 20+ friends/ families on the first night, around 16 on the second. As we were a group of mixed age and gender, working out the configuration was quite difficult for us. We made the master bedroom into boy's dormitory by putting few extra mattresses on the floor which we had brought with us, which we were not charged for- , and it worked quite well. We had enough spaces for all generations, there was no feeling that the space was too tiny, even during the cold rainy days. We were allowed guests during the day and there were about 30 of us in the house at one point, but it was totally fine. The only downside might be a noise from outside, as it is nearby M40 motorway. But it did not matter to us too much as we had a lot of things to do. Thank you so much for having us, and hope to be back again soon- we absolutely loved the stay.

Ben was super accommodating and got extra supplies for us, at it was my husband and I’s wedding day. Highly recommended, if you love walks or just some time away from the hustle and bustle.

  • A truly relaxing break, in a wonderful and charming venue. Larger that i was expecting, and presented immaculately. A perfect quiet spot, great place to escape to. I'm a bit worried about saying quite how much I enjoyed my stay, since I want the place to be unbooked and available for my next stay ;-)

    Paul2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Spotless apartment in lovely setting, really enjoyed the view and log fire especially! Arriving in rain and dark a little tricky to find but it's worth it! Really quick communication from Katie to any queries. Recommend Bull and Butcher for food just be careful about availability of taxis and be prepared for price (given they're coming from High Wycombe).

    Marianne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give Katie's place 10 stars, I'd give it 12! The cottage is such a babe! It's spacious, well-looked after, cosy, welcoming and just the perfect place for an escape to the countryside. I highly recommend Katie's cottage to will definitely stay again!

    Aljona2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were actually a little surprised at how big the place was, as we were expecting a slightly more compact area. It is delightfully located with very very quick access from the motorway and yet a plethora of walks around with wonderful options for food as well. Katie was brilliant. Offering help, advice and a personal touch without being too encroaching. Highly recommended!

    James2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's beautiful house is surrounded by gardens and scenery that looks straight out of a postcard. So peaceful and comfortable, we enjoyed day trips to many lovely nearby towns and relaxing by the fire in the evening. Can't wait to visit again in the future!

We are taking coronavirus extremely seriously and recognise that we can provide you with a level of social distancing that may be difficult in your own home. The cottage is entirely separate from the house and you can check in without any contact. We can help with grocery deliveries. We are leaving the cottage empty for 48hrs, after deep cleaning, before the next booking. Do contact us if you have further queries.
The Gardener's Cottage is a delightful, newly renovated retreat with private garden. Set in the grounds of a Queen Anne Rectory, it has 17th Century charm with the convenience & comfort of modern fittings. On the Ridgeway, in a picturesque rural setting, you can get out without seeing anyone. An extremely comfortable home from home with open plan kitchen-dining-sitting room on the ground floor, and upstairs a dual aspect master bedroom, single bedroom and luxury bathroom. It is accessed via its own separate garden and front door. Many of the original features have been retained. There is oak flooring throughout. Whilst the Gardener's Cottage was built in the 17th Century it has been fully renovated this year and is more fully described below. Kitchen The kitchen has a Nespresso Coffee Machine; Induction Hob and Oven; Dishwasher; large Fridge Freezer; Microwave; Toaster and granite work surfaces. It contains a full range of kitchen items - whether you only wish to warm something up or cook a full Sunday roast. Dining The scrubbed pine table can easily accommodate four people. Sitting There is a three seater sofa (which converts into an extra bed) and an arm chair. If there are more than four of you we can provide extra seating or kids beanbags. There is WiFi and a TV with Netflix. Bathroom A major feature of the cottage is the glorious double ended bath - one of the deepest and comfiest we've come across and perfect for relaxing by candlelight. There is a separate shower. To ensure maximum comfort there are warm fluffy towels and underfloor heating. Master Bedroom A King sized bed with lots of pillows, fluffy mattress topper and fabulous bed linen. The bedroom is vaulted and has windows to the East and West giving you morning and evening sunshine & views over the garden and countryside. There are drawers and hanging. Single Bedroom This is set up as a kid's room with a small single bed, books, toys and desk. There is room for a travel cot (which we can provide if required), but it is not a big room. The curtains are black-out and there is a stair gate for the top of the stairs. We have a high chair too if required. Outside The Gardener's Cottage has its own private garden with well stocked cottage garden beds, a lawn, terrace and outdoor seating. In the main garden there is a climbing frame, swings, slides, trampoline and acres of space. For those with an electric vehicle, we have a 3 pin-socket in the adjacent Barn that can be accessed for charging on an honesty basis.
We are located two miles from the market town of Princes Risborough, in a rural setting. The Chiltern's contain fabulous walking and both The Ridgeway and The Chiltern Way pass through our property, so you are ideally situated to enjoy the vast network of Public Footpaths. The Phoenix Trail, a traffic free cycle route, can be accessed less than two miles away and provides a family friendly cycle ride to Thame. For those who appreciate fine dining, we are extremely close to both The Charles Napier and The Mash Inn. Slightly further afield are Le Manoir aux Quat'Saison and The Crazy Bear. There are also many slightly lower key pubs with a more every day offering - many of which can form part of a circular walk direct from the cottage. Hughenden Manor, the West Wycombe Estate and Waddesdon Manor are all close by - as are the towns of Henley, Marlow, Thame and Berkhamsted - or for those who would like a retail extravaganza - Bicester Village is only two stops on the train. We have four children and are therefore well acquainted with things to do and see in the area.
  • Karen is a wonderfully warm and helpful hostess - on hand to provide assistance or suggestions of places to visit locally. The family very generously give you free access to the games, trampoline, slides and hammocks in their garden. Our 3 year old loved it! The pigs, cats and dog also brightened our day.

    Mark2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about Karen’s place, the cottage suited our needs perfectly, our kids were thrilled with the toys and books inside and the games and animals outside! The stay exceeded our expectations, Karen made us feel welcome and free to roam around the gardens and meet the animals. The welcome pack was fantastic, offering loads of great ideas and information about the area. It was such a pleasant and peaceful stay, we highly recommend a stay at Karen’s lovely place.

  • We had a really lovely stay at the Stables. Jan and John were so welcoming, and were really quick to respond to any queries I had. The house was really clean and cosy (we loved the underfloor heating too!). The location was great, the local pubs served some really good food and the farm shop next door was an added bonus! The welcome pack was a lovely touch too. We'd recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

    Elizabeth2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place really was incredible. No1 The Stable was the perfect location for a weekend in the countryside. The bed was huge, the underfloor heating was a real treat, and the views were stunning. The living room and kitchen area were cosy and had everything we needed. Plus it was spotless. The weather was terrible while we were there, but it didn't matter - we walked to the brilliant farm shop a few minutes away for supplies and then cosied up indoors. Jan and John were great hosts, who made us feel so welcome with a pack of breakfast supplies and even a Valentines cookie. We loved it and will be back!

  • The check in was easy with a key box outside the property and the instructions on where to park / access the property were perfect. Erina and Dom were super friendly and when we entered the cottage there were some lovely treats and a card waiting for us. The property was lovely and clean and exactly as described. It was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay and our host were incredibly responsive when we asked for info. The cottage itself was lovely and exactly as described. The area is nice and quiet with some lovely rural walks through woods and fields. Everyone is very friendly. Would have loved to stayed longer and will hopefully stay again soon.

    Aaron2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage as a mini break from London. The cottage was clean, tidy and we were made to feel very welcome. As this was during the Coronavirus pandemic, we didn’t get out much but from what we saw Haddenham is a beautiful village and we’d like to come back when life returns to normal.

    Andy2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cute cottage. Recommend for a quaint weekend away. Communication and presentation was lovely. They had a booklet with local takeaways and how to use its amenities. The fireplace was lovely and complete nostalgia with the playstation 2 and its games. Only thing I have to say is that maybe consider it if you are 6ft and taller as the ceiling and doorways aren't very tall people compatible. But overall a lovely stay

    King2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 2 night stay at the cottage, it was in such a quiet location within easy reach of the cafes and pubs of Haddenham. The cottage felt like a home away from home and Erina and Dom made us feel very welcome.

    Lucy2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Another good week here. Highly recommended for a bit of peace and quiet, and a very comfortable base.

    Simon2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Erina and Dom have perfected hosting; providing easy access to all the necessary information as well as helpful extras. The house is full of character and all the modem amenities without compromising that. They were very responsive and informative, and the house was beautifully prepared for our stay.

We offer a light airy spacious double room in a detached house situated in a quiet village location. We are in the Chilterns with great walks and cycle paths. There is a local pub and village shop within walking distance. The local supermarket and various pubs and restaurants is one mile away. The facilities provided are free wifi, parking, television tea and coffee and a breakfast tray consisting of toast, cereal and juice. A separate private bathroom is provided.
The neighborhood is a quiet residential area with no street lighting. In the village there is The Red Lion public house who serve hot food most evenings and a village shop and post office. The local curry houses all deliver to the house.

Perfect for your escape to the country, a self-contained annexe set in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is The Chilterns, yet only a short drive from London or Oxford. There is everything that you need, whether for overnight or a longer stay, with a well equipped kitchen. Come for the peace and quiet, admire the wildlife, explore the unspoiled countryside on foot or by bicycle or enjoy the wealth of top class local restaurants and tourist attractions.
The accommodation is arranged as follows: Large open-plan ground floor living area with kitchen and dining space and a shower room. The common area has a sofa bed that can sleep 2 people. On the mezzanine floor above is a king size bed. On the top floor is an adjacent suite , with shower room, kitchenette and one super kingsize or two single beds. There is a separate outside access to this suite should you wish to use it - perfect if two families are coming. Outside, you have ample parking and a private garden in which to relax. There is also a lockable shed for your bikes or muddy walking boots.
This is a quiet hamlet of 6 houses, but a 10-minute walk brings you to the popular Mash Inn. The Sir Charles Napier restaurant is a 5 minute drive along the road or an easy walk away, and a popular family pub in Radnage. Popular with walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate unspoilt nature and the extensive network of paths and bridleways. In our area there are a number of National Trust properties: Hughenden Manor, Clivedon, Hartwell House and Waddesdon Manor, the home of the Rothschild family, to name but a few. Oxford has many interesting museums and of course the colleges to visit. We are about 15 minutes away from Marlow and 30 minutes from Henley upon Thames. You can easily spend a day exploring these beautiful riverside towns, take a trip on the river or hire a boat and navigate the Thames yourself! Both Windsor Castle and Blenheim Palace are easy drives away. If you have younger members in your party, how about a trip to Great Missenden to the Roald Dahl museum, the Harry Potter experience at Watford or a Go-Ape Tree Top Adventure in Wendover Woods? These are just a few of the possibilities, but if you'd like to tell me about the things that interest you I may be able to recommend other places.
  • Moyra's annexe is comfortable, well equipped and flooded with light through the many windows. We enjoyed the views and the country experience, including meeting the dogs, chickens and sheep. Moyra baked bread for us and provided homemade jam, granola and fresh eggs. Moyra and Martin were very friendly and helpful neighbours during our four week stay. They suggested walks / runs in the pretty countryside nearby. I would definitely recommend this as a rural retreat.

    Margaret2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Moyra's place is in a beautiful setting in the Chiltern's countryside. The house is warm, clean and equipped with everything you need for your stay. We loved the breakfast, watched some DVDs and had great fun playing the board games. The living space is a good size for 4 people and the kitchen and it's table make a great area - it is fully equipped to make any meal you would like to. The kids had great fun collecting eggs and exploring the fields. The local pub was good too!

    Sophie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The most idyllic weekend away from the hustle and bustle of London. Moyra was most welcoming, adding small touches to our stay. We were welcomed with fresh flowers, fruit juices, fresh bread, homemade jam and even the bathrooms were stocked with makeup remover pads - an essential for any girly weekend away! Moyra even offered to accept our online food shop before we had arrived which meant a stress free dinner on Friday evening. Due to the bad weather, we were also offered to stay a little longer than we had planned to. The local area also did not disappoint. We would highly recommend The Crown pub in the local village which served fantastic food with a cosy atmosphere. We will definitely be returning for our next group getaway! Holly and the girls

    Holly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful setting, I would recommend this property to everyone.

    Nigel2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Moyra is honestly one of the most caring air bnb hosts that I have met. She went above and beyond throughout the stay, especially with the extra touches like the home made bread and granola. The air bnb itself was fully equipped and had a homely feel which made us feel at peace from the hustle and bustle of London life. Me and my friends would definitely recommend Moyra’s air bnb and will for sure be back for another visit.

    Avni2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish place! Stunning interior and very light and spacious. Lovely walks nearby. Very well equipped, very attentive host. Many thanks Moyra. Random fact - Biggest kitchen roll any of has ever seen!

    Sarah2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • After reading the great reviews of Moyra’s cottage we had high expectations already however our expectations were exceeded. Both Moyra and her husband were so welcoming and friendly, there’s not much we could’ve asked for. Thank you!!

    Holly2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a quiet retreat, look no further. It's a house by a farm of goats, cows and chickens. A wonderful escape from city life, Moyra's place is well-appointed, cozy and comforting. She has gone above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, adding thoughtful touches to make our stay comfortable.

  • Lovely traditional barn which has been converted into a fabulous cosy retreat. Will definitely be staying again.

  • This is an absolutely lovely little cottage. I stayed for 5 evenings while working at the Lane End Centre which is a 20 minute walk away. A very quiet location, all you'll hear around is birds. This self-contained annexe with its own entrance has everything you need. I loved the decoration and Mandy's top taste. She was also very welcoming and had lots of breakfast options available, fresh fruit and milk. Always responding very promptly and very helpful with local indications. I came across her partner as well who gave me great hiking tips on my day off. Would definitely visit again!

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Mandy's. Mandy provided clear instructions, communication was polite and responsive. The accommodation was cosy. Thank you Mandy!

  • This guest home is now our favorite place we have ever seen! It is like a little hobbit hole! We absolutely loved staying here. The surroundings are beautiful, inside and out. We can’t to come back, and only wish we could build a little home exactly like it in our own garden (or tear down our own home and replace it with this, for heaven’s sake!) Who knew you could have this much comfort and beauty in such a small space?

    Traci2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place ideal for a nice weekend away. Some great walks nearby!

  • Hugh and Lizzie are two people of incredible kindness and generosity. Even for one night, we were welcomed with open arms, with nice discussions. Hugh offered us an appetizer and even offered to join us for dinner seeing that we had not planned a meal. It only takes a few minutes to feel like family and home. The room was immaculate and the view of the sheep in the morning was picturesque. We will come back with time. Thank you for everything. Hugh and Lizzie are such lovely and kind hosts. You need only a few minutes to feel like home. They offered a drink and even if needed. The room was perfect with beautiful views to the countryside. We wanna come back, for sure. Thanks for everything.

  • Beautiful house in a beautiful location with wide views of the hills. Communication was excellent. Our hosts Hugh and Lizzie were warm and welcoming, it felt as though they were genuinely delighted to host us and to meet new people. Our room was spacious (2 single beds 1 double and a travel cot considerately provided) and the only sound in the evening was the call of the red kites in the distance. The house felt like a loving family home with all that warmth extended to friends, guests and all who stopped by. Thank you for a lovely stay!

    Yasmine2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hugh, Lizzy and family were very friendly & welcoming into their home with great conversations and good local advice. The family room was a good size & had a comfy double bed. The recommended local pub, The Black Horse served good traditional food. Local walking is excellent with beautiful bluebells near Little Hampden and great views from Whiteleaf, the Monument and West Wycombe hill. A lovely place to stay!

    Adele2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Hugh and Lizzy were fantastic hosts , giving us friendly and helpful advice like pointing us in the direction of a great traditional local pub and directing us to a superb view point over the Chilterns. They were incredibly generous and made us feel extremely welcome. It felt like home away from home and we will definitely return if we're ever in that neck of the woods again. xxx

  • Outstanding service, really couldn't ask for more. Very accomodating and helpful and a lovely place to stay.

    Nicholas2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The annexe is conveniently located near local shops, pubs & food outlets with the motorway a few hundred yards away which made it perfect for journeys. The space is clean and very comfortable; I had a wonderful stay. I have to mention how fantastic Yvonne - the host - was. The list of amenities had been reset without her being aware, and wrongly indicated the space as having a TV (it didn't). When I enquired about the lack of a TV set she explained the error, but then went to the trouble of providing me with one at short notice for the duration of my stay, along with a Roku streaming hub, so I can't recommend the place and host enough :-) Oh, and the bed is super comfy too!!!

  • Yvonne is a fantastic host, she’s incredibly kind and welcoming. The place is exactly as pictured, it’s a cosy, warm and clean space that has all you need. It’s close to the motorway but tucked away so traffic noise is not an issue at all.

  • Andrew's place is absolutely stunning! The house was warm, cosy, clean and super stylish with everything you could think of for an enjoyable stay. We were 3 old school friends getting together for our annual break and this house was just perfect. The kitchen was super well equipped, the beds extremely comfy and was near a local friendly pub. Had a nice outdoor seating area and garden and great range of restaurants within walking distance. I would totally recommend booking!

    Annie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • So clean, well equipped and a great place to stay!

    Juliette2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We came as a party of four adults, one baby and one toddler, and we could have easily and comfortably stayed for weeks. The house was very clean, very well-equipped with everything we might have needed, and very comfortable. We especially liked the decor - it felt like we were staying with good friends. It was very clear that the owners used this place themselves - it was so much nicer than properties solely furnished as airbnbs. The town itself was a great jumping off point for hiking in the chilterns, and had lots of lovely cafes and parks to wander around with the babes. Andrew was incredibly prompt and thorough in his communication. The street was nice and quiet, which was perfect for putting the babes to bed at seven and ordering in. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful hiking weekend / week away. Thank you to Andrew and his parents for such a lovely weekend!

    Alison2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in several airbnb properties and this has to be up there as one of the best. The house was very comfortable and clean with really stylish design features throughout. Check in was easy (ahead of normal time) and Andrew was a great host. Communication was excellent which made everything really straight forward for our short walking holiday. The location is also excellent, with everything within easy walking distance. I can highly recommend Andrew's house and would definitely stay there again.

    Richard2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful stylish comfortable and very welcoming home! The beds are incredibly comfy, and the cushions and throws add style and warmth. Every room is filled with beautiful candles, that make the space smell divine! As a previous chef and very keen cook the kitchen is perfectly equipped! Great coffee machine too! Very sparklingly clean, and the host was so helpful with tips for local events and places to visit! The garden is large and would be stunning in summer, and they have so many games and bikes you can borrow. The artwork is also modern and very interesting, I loved the one above the bath! Will be back, LOVED IT! ❤️

    Hannah2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this air bnb to host my annual girls Christmas dinner/sleepover. Such an incredible house and in such a great location. Only a short distance via train to London and Oxford too. The girls absolutely loved it and we have all said we would definitely stay again! Can’t thank the hosts enough for being so good to us and such fast responses and have been very helpful when needed.

    Chantelle2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's house was clean, stylish and very comfortable. It had all of the expected amenities like an iron, TV and internet; to a very well stocked kitchen that had everything from all the cooking utensils to a myriad of choices for tea. It even had a shoe polishing kit at hand that was very useful the morning of our friends wedding. Andrew as a host was very attentive and provided great communication. He was flexible with check-in and check out and was happy to help whenever we had a question. The only downside I can see to his home is the drive is very narrow, unless you park right at the back or right at the front, you cannot exit your car without climbing through the boot. However, there is free parking on the street on the weekends if needs be. Overall it was a lovely home and a very comfortable that I would recommend to anyone.

    Emir2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

  • Janes place is fantastic. A really considerate host who responded quickly to all my emails. the place itself is sparkling clean, with enough space for everything. A fab shower and wonderful breakfast. I was staying on my own for work and it felt very safe and had some really thoughtful little touches. Thanks for the Kit Kats Jane!

  • A healthy breakfast,and a very hospitable host in a great location

    Jennifer2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an absolute gem. Communication was always swift and easy and on arrival it was clear we had a really lovely home to stay in with a warm welcome and every little thing we could possibly want to feel welcome and provided for. Parked right outside the front door and were welcomed into a charming lounge area and separate en suite bedroom. It was spotlessly clean (and I am very fussy!) and every small requirement had been anticipated and provided for. A wonderful hot powerful shower, good lighting, his & hers towels x 2, lots of electric sockets, comfy bed, a dressing table with mirror, good tv and lovely sitting area and loads of fascinating books. Breakfast was superb and we ate far too much but don't regret it! We looked forward to returning to the house each day as it felt like a real home from home. Jane is a delightful person and has gone to a lot of trouble to make her guests comfortable and welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and we will certainly be going back when we need to stay in the area... or maybe just for the pleasure even if we don't!

The apartment was entirely refurbished in March 2020 and has a brand new kitchen, bathroom and appliances. Guests also have use the communal outside space, which comes equipped with a BBQ (all coals and lighting equipment provided), table and chairs - so fingers crossed for good weather during your stay!

Amenities within the village a shot walk from the apartment include: - House of Spice (fantastic Indian restaurant) - Kings Head (classic country pub, tucked away in the middle of the village) - The Rising Sun (vibrant pub with a great selection of guest ales) - Bradmoor Farm Shop & Cafe (they offer a brilliant breakfast and carvery, also evening entertainment events) - Smarts Chip Shop - McColls or Londis (alcohol licensed local shops)

  • Martin & Alison’s place is perfect. Set in the grounds of their lovely garden & in a beautiful part of England. The Barn is a very tranquil, serene place to stay. The furnishings and fixtures & fittings are high end and it was sparkling clean. We will definitely return to stay in The Barn when we are in that area again.

  • We had a great stay at the Barn and would highly recommend. Everything was just as we hoped and we loved the wood burning stove. Martin was a great host, really helpful and welcoming. The fresh bread, milk and jams were lovely. Thank you very much!

  • This is a true gem of a place, a beautiful semi-rural location, elegant and stylish barn with the magic that a good log burner creates. Thoughtfull touches and quick responses add to the overall experience of a break to be cherished.

    Ama2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Martin welcomed us on arrival and showed us round. He was friendly and gave us some tips about the best pubs in the area as well as where some great walking was available. The place was as stunning as the photos. We had a lovely stay!

    Ben2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • From the onset Martin was a brilliant host, we had trouble locating the Airbnb initially because of roadworks but he was able to help us out. Very friendly welcome and we felt right at home, he couldn’t do enough for us. In fact, we asked if he could help us start the log fire and he was happy to help. The space itself is unbelievable, exceptionally clean and the decor is beautiful, even to the tiny details such as heated towel racks!! The location is perfect, close to lots of quaint little villages and walks, there was plenty of information provided in leaflets left in the Airbnb. Bread, butter and milk were provided which was a lovely touch, and even inspired us to head to the farm shop to purchase goodies to take home Would highly recommend staying here, we’re hoping to visit again in the summer!

With views to the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, our stylish self-contained studio apartment is located in the Chiltern Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty right next to the Ridgeway Trail. Warm and comfortable, the space was recently renovated to modern Scandinavian style with luxury touches. The area offers lovely walks, cycling routes and cosy country pubs (nearest 5 min walk). If you come by train from London or Birmingham, we are walking distance from the station.
The apartment is part of a substantial 1920’s country house but completely separate and private with its own entrance. The interior was fully renovated to a high, Scandinavian style specification in autumn 2019 so everything in it is new. (The exterior including a new patio area will be done next summer.) The accommodation consists of one large room with a high ceiling, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom. It’s designed for a couple but a single bed is available for an additional guest. It has a king size bed with 13.5 tog hypoallergenic double duvet (single duvets available on request). There is also a designer dining table and chairs, vintage divan, hanging storage, shelving, Smart TV with e.g. Netflix, WiFi and black-out blinds in the room. The bathroom is fitted with a shower enclosure, 100% Egyptian cotton towels, hair dryer and organic shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, sink, microwave, toaster, kettle and portable boiling ring/hot plate. You will find complimentary breakfast provisions in the kitchen including cereal, milk, toast, butter, jam, fresh juice, instant coffee and tea. Please note that the provisions won’t be replenished during your stay but there’s enough breakfast for 1-2 days and plenty of coffee, tea and breakfast cereals. Iron and ironing board are available on request. Laundry service is available for an additional fee. For our long stay guests we provide a room cleaning and change of bed linen and towels every 7 days. All guests will be personally welcomed on arrival. Earlier check in times can be arranged the majority of the time. Unfortunately we can’t accommodate children under the age of 12, pets or smokers.
Whiteleaf is a beautiful, quiet hamlet in the Chiltern Hills. It’s a famous destination for walkers (The Ridgeway path is only a few minute walk from us), cyclists, golf players and anyone enjoying spending time in the nature. Whiteleaf Cross, a chalk hill-figure at the top of Whiteleaf Hill has dominated the local landscape for several centuries. Offering amazing panoramic views, it’s a spectacular picnic spot. If you come by car, we recommend visiting Waddesdon Manor, one of the most magnificent National Trust properties in England. Walking distance from several country pubs, 9-hole golf course and the restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and specialist shops of historic market town Princes Risborough, we hope you’ll find it the perfect place for a relaxing break in the countryside.

Hidden away in the blissful Buckinghamshire countryside, you’ll find Chadwell Hill Farm. Our Shepherd’s Hut is beautifully furnished and nestled in a wild flower garden, overlooking the valley. And at just an hour from central London, the perfect rural escape is closer than you think.
Jump on the train in London, and just an hour later, you could be watching the sunset over the valley, as you laze by the fire pit with a glass of wine in your hand. We can even provide you with our own farm produce to throw on the BBQ. The Shepherd’s Hut is the perfect space for a cozy getaway for two. But if you are looking to share it with family or friends, then in the summer months, we can provide a luxury twin-bedded Bell tent, next to the hut, for an additional cost of £50 per night (to be paid on arrival). And the farmhouse itself has 4 beautiful B&B rooms, just next door - perfect for a big party. So if you are planning a group getaway and need accommodation for between 4 and 12 people, just get in touch to enquire about dates and availability. We are also very happy to organise activities for you, to help you keep everyone entertained. To book the Shepherd’s Hut alone, just continue here. The Shepherd’s Hut sits in a wild flower garden behind Chadwell Hill Farm House. It comprises a double bed, kitchenette with sink, hob, oven, fridge, and small fold-away table, and a shower room and toilet. There is decking outside the hut which overlooks a fire pit, with table and chairs and a BBQ. In the summer months, a comfortably and beautifully furnished Bell tent can be provided with additional twin beds for two people. The Farmhouse next door has 4 lovely B&B rooms. Both the bell tent and the B&B rooms can be booked with the Shepherds Hut, by contacting the host about a group booking. Well behaved dogs are very welcome at Chadwell Hill Farm. There are stables at the farm where guests are welcome to stable a horse, and there are two bicycles that can be borrowed to explore the lovely countryside of the Chilterns. If you’d like to cook up a tasty breakfast or enjoy a BBQ, Nicky and Alan would be pleased to provide you with their own delicious free-range produce from the farm, from eggs, bacon and sausages, to pork chops, steak and chicken, for a small additional charge. Just contact us in advance to arrange.
Situated in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Chadwell Hill Farm was originally part of the Rothschild estate, and is now a small holding and livery yard. We keep free-range pigs, Dexter cattle, ducks and chickens, and we also have a large vegetable patch and an ancient orchard. Most of the food that we supply to our guests is either grown on the farm, or sourced from neighbouring small holders. The area is rich in wildlife, and wild ducks, red kites, barn owls and bats can all be regularly seen at the farm. We even have a resident family of coutts on our pond. The Chilterns and the well-known Ridgeway path are perfect for walkers and cyclists. And for those that fancy a cultural day out, Oxford is within easy striking distance, along with many country houses, National Trust properties and other attractions, including Blenheim Palace, Grey’s Court, Claydon House, West Wycombe Estate and the Hell Fire Caves, Stonor Park, Waddesdon Manor, Bletchley Park, Clivedon and Hughendon Manor. Very close to the farm are the lovely market towns of Princes Risborough, Thame and Wendover, and we are not far from Marlow, Henley and Wallingford, where you can enjoy a boat trip on the Thames or a walk along the river. We are lucky to be close to some excellent pubs, restaurants and cafés and would be happy to recommend our favourites. And for the keen shoppers out there, Bicester Village is easily accessible by car or by train.
  • We had a wonderful, peaceful New Years at this beautiful getaway. It has everything you need and more. Kitchen, shower, comfy bed, heating, beautiful views and even Monolopy if you fancy it! The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the place feels very private even though it is close to the main house. We would definitely come again!

    Janine2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to spend a few days. We went in early october, and enjoyed relaxing in the hut whilst the rain (and flying apples!) was doing its worst outside. Nicky and Alan were excellent hosts, really made us feel welcome and even gave us a couple of lifts to/from stations/starts of country walks as we didn't have a car. They even let us watch the rugby in the B&B house. The hut itself is beautiful, comfortable bed and great shower. Everything you need in the kitchen to make a couple of meals, and I'd definitely recommend getting the cooked breakfast set from the larder. The local sausages were fab. Waking up to the sound of sheep in the field a couple of metres away from the hut was lovely...a real way to wind down. Thankfully Nicky & Alan were great at giving us lifts to help us avoid the busy main road when walking, but we could have made more of the local area if we had a car. There are loads of lovely walks locally to help walk off the cooked breakfast though. Would definitey recommend. The hut is beautiful and I'd definitely go back.

  • We loved staying here. The shepherds hut was warm as we visited in September, and it was practical, with everything we needed provided. The view from the hut was stunning. Our hosts were very hospitable caring for our every need. Highly recommended!

  • Fantastic little hideaway overlooking a pleasant meadow. Nice decking area and garden with bbq. Feels very private. Helpful and friendly host. Good location to visit the sites around.

  • What a fun place to stay! Beautiful, clean and carefully considered shepherds hut at the bottom of the farm garden. Sits under Apple trees so you can listen to all the garden birds singing away. The hut is bigger than the photos suggest with everything you could need. Very helpful hosts lent us bikes and had maps for biking and walking. Thank you.

    Bryony2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the spacious, clean shepherds hut. Very peaceful and just what we needed to unwind! Thank you so much.

    Becky2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is lovely, super clean and quaint. There is a a grassy area with bbq (bring your own coal) and fire pit, and table and chairs on the decking. We bbq’d each night and sat eating watching the sunset over the fields - beautiful. They provide lots of literature on local things to do for inspiration. We had the breakfast and the bbq pack from the larder menu both of which were delicious! Thanks so much for having us Nicky and Allan! X

  • The shepherd's hut was such an incredible find. So beautiful, sparkling clean, great amenities and in a wonderful location. The weather was awful when I stayed so we couldn't make the most of the area, but I would not hesitate to return.

  • Amazing little cabin, out of the way, quiet and restful. We booked at Upper Farm as a last minute trip and we were not disappointed. If you enjoy fishing, the lake is right in front of the cabin. It was nice to be able to sit in the hot tub and watch my partner fishing with some Buck’s Fizz! We had dinner at the local pub which was delicious. We will definitely be visiting again!

  • What a beautiful place to stay! I booked last minute as we needed some time off and I wanted somewhere relaxing with good views. Well, we certainly got that! The view from the sofa was of the lake, trees, red kites and occasional fishers as they sat in the rain around the pond. The hot tub and sauna were great and we enjoyed a lovely walk up the local hill and to the pub... Gary was great at answering my questions and really accommodating. Thanks so much!

  • If I could sum up everything in one word it would be “perfection” from start to finish. Despite that we arrived on Gary’s spectacular farm on a rainy evening, he walked us through the site by being filled with a warmth, politeness and joy. He was more than happy to show us everything and answer all our queries. We loved the lodge and definitely we are going to visit again. It is only one hour drive away from London and we found it the perfect retreat for the weekend.

  • We have just returned from staying at Gary’s Kingfisher lodge. One word... Amazing! From start to finish the experience was 5 stars. If I could give it 6 I would. Beautiful location, beautiful lodge. Everything had been thought of... fully equip kitchen with plastic cups perfect for the hot tub! We received a manual a couple of days before and it was extremely detailed which helped us with our stay. The simba bed is definitely a 10/10, so comfy. Everything about the lodge was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. Perfect way to spend a 30th birthday!

Stunning self contained barn offering privacy and character situated in the beautiful and quiet hamlet of Meadle, in the county of Buckinghamshire, at the foot of the Chilterns. It has underfloor heating throughout, a fully fitted kitchen with coffee maker, dishwasher and washing machine, a stylish bathroom and an amazing sleeping loft with kingsize bed. There are two further single beds in the main open-plan area that are incorporated into the generous living space.
The sleeping loft is accessed with a bespoke built-in ladder that slides into a fixed position on a rail. While this is perfectly safe, if you are unsteady on your feet, you should probably choose to sleep in one of the single beds situated within the main living area, as you will be using this great feature at your own risk as part of our House Rules. Great quality bedding awaits you whether you're sleeping upstairs or downstairs! The two single 'day' beds can be used for lounging around when not used for their main purpose - sleeping! The black velvet chesterfield style sofa adds a bit of urban chic to the mix! There is plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for belongings, as well as an extendable table for dining. There is also use of an adjoining gym with a quality running machine, weight-lifting bench, a range of bars and weights, yoga mats and a punch bag with gloves.
Meadle is a small hamlet of about 25 houses, located in the county of Buckinghamshire, that leads onto farmland. The road is therefore very quiet. The Chilterns nearby offer amazing walks, cycling and mountain biking, with various villages and country pubs scattered around.
  • Amazing stay, lovely cosy place and we had a great walk nearby. Matthew was the perfect host. S&H

  • Stayed at the Barn for one night with my three daughters. Lovely location and spotlessly clean. Matt, the host, introduced himself on arrival and was on hand if we needed anything. A very relaxing stay, definitely recommend.

  • Matts place was really nice! The quirkyness of the stable was brilliant and perfect for 3 of us. Unfortunately, we did not spend time on the grounds too much as the weather was terrible, but inside the area was nice. The room was left in good condition when we arrived and we were comfortable throughout the stay! Enough lighting, and plug sockets, WiFi was good, and all of the kitchen facilities worked perfectly! I have already recommended this place to a few family members and friends so they should be booking it soon!!

  • Cosy, clean and beautifully equipped with everything we needed. Finished to a really high standard and cleverly organised so it felt roomy for a family of four. And gorgeous walks from the style at the bottom of the garden. Exactly what we needed for a few days escape from the city.

  • Lovely little find tucked away in a tiny hamlet. Beautifully clean and well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. Booked last minute as an escape for a short break and will definitely book again.

  • Super cute barn perfect for three. We had a great time. Everything we needed to have a comfortable stay was provided. Extra touches like biscuits were really appreciated. Lovely location....really pretty countryside. Matt was super friendly and an attentive host whilst giving us plenty of space. I’d definitely recommend!

  • An adorable place for friends to stay with delightful country cottage vibes! Lots of space and even a gym! Great location for walks and pub lunches and not too far from Thame and Oxford.
