  • As always, a very special place for our friends and family and has become a yearly (or hopefully more frequent!) tradition for us all. We had a lovely time relaxing by the fire and playing board-games as well as enjoying the grounds and the history of the place. We're very much looking forward to coming back later in the year. Thank you Laura!

  • Great location, very unique place. Would definitely recommend

    Kelwen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and warm. The kitchen is perfect for lots of people cooking and eating and the sitting room large and quite comfortable especially when the wood burning stove is lit. Our toddler loved exploring, inside and out. Just make sure you plan your sleeping arrangements beforehand because although it can sleep up to 12 there are only 4 bedrooms. Well recommended.

  • Another wonderful stay. This is the second time we have stayed here with friends and hope to return again next year. It's the perfect place to get together with friends, it such a lovely space and ground you don't need to leave.

If you like sloping brick floors, comfy sofas, exposed beams, wood burners, light, space and original features then you will like the Dairy. An annexe to a Tudor farmhouse it was converted in 2013 and is now a spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom holiday home with a double height open plan living space on the ground floor. Children and dogs are very welcome. Egyptian cotton sheets, fresh towels and wifi provided (it's a pretty good connection - as much as you can guarantee these things - but do check with us first if you want to download films etc). There's a basket of logs for the fire and books and dvds; refreshments too so you can start to relax as soon as you arrive. Everything you might need to know about the Dairy is in the welcome manual and have a look at the airbnb guide which gives tips about shopping and local sightseeing activities too. If you prefer the human touch we are just next door and happy to help and to share what we know about the local area with you. In the middle of rural Suffolk we are: 20 minutes away from Diss, which has direct trains to London (90mins). 15 minutes away from Framlingham. A pretty market town (market on Tuesday and Saturday) with a lovely castle 25 minutes away from the coast: pebble beaches, sandy beaches, nature reserves, bustling seaside towns of Southwold with its pier, cafes and beach huts and Aldeburgh (40 mins drive away) with fresh fish and summer festivals. 25 minutes from Thetford forest. Bressingham steam museum, mid Suffolk light steam railway, the Owl and Camel sanctuary and Easton Farm Park are all in easy reach for family fun. As for getting around there are buses but we are in the country so you can go anywhere but it'll be a week before the bus returns! If you bring bikes we have an outbuilding that you can store them in and there is a reliable taxi service. We have a local store, a butcher and baker in the village a library, gym, swimming pool and tennis courts too - all within 5 minutes walk of the dairy. The village has 3 pubs, with two of them serving food as well. To make the most of your stay we recommend a car but if you are after a short getaway there is lots to do in a short walking distance of the Dairy and taxis at Diss railway station. KitchenFacilities: Dishwasher, Coffeemaker, Microwave, Fridge, Toaster, Double Oven, Hob,Grill. Washing machine and outside sink (for washing dogs or wellies) in next door outbuilding. Entertainment: LCD TV - Freeview with integrated DVD Player, Books, Games and DVDs, retro radio and Ipod dock. Courtyard garden: table and four chairs and a bench too. Highchair, Travel cot and toys available on request. Off street parking for 2 cars.

  • Fantastic weekend away

    Juliet2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow ... myself and my boyfriend stayed at The Dairy for our 3 year anniversary. We wanted to have a cosy weekend for too out and away from busy London - nestled in the countryside ... and this cottage fit that brief perfectly! From checking in to checking out our stay was wonderful and the hosts were very attentive. We loved sitting by the log burner with a cup of tea and biscuits wrapped in a warm blanket. The wooden beams, fairy lights and soft furnishings created the perfect atmosphere to relax. We definitely would love to come back for another stay in the future! X

  • Stunning property! Cosy and perfect for a weekend away

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A charming, quiet and cosy spot, full of character - even lovelier than it looks in the photos - on the edge of a little village. We spent two nights at the Diary and would’ve loved to have stayed longer. Really clean and well-equipped for self-catering, comfortable beds, plenty of DVDs, books and games, and some thoughtful welcome treats. Kate was there to meet us and gave us tips on the local pubs, bakery and butchers. The log burner was an added bonus and was stacked and ready to light. Can’t recommend this place enough.

    Gabrielle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful short stay was had at The Dairy. Its incredibly cosy and well located to explore the local area.

    Sorcha2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cosy and all round ideal country escape. Kate and her husband were so friendly and went out of their way to help make our stay special. The dairy is so historic and has such a great feel, largely due to the Moroccan and rustic furnishings, as well as the beams and amazing wood burner. Really well located to explore the suffolk coast, we hope to return as soon as we can!

    Isabel2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The dairy is the perfect place to go away for some relaxation. The village is lovely and location to loads of great places is fantastic. The dairy is stylish and comfortable and there was plenty of room for four of us! Thanks again Kate will return.

    Sam2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the Dairy with my girlfriend for two nights and we loved it. The Dairy was rustic but very clean and well furnished, with all the facilities you’d need for a short stay. The log burner was a great bonus in February. Stradbroke is a lovely village with a nice local bakery, village shop and pubs. It is easy to get to from the A140 and has great access to other villages and their own little shops and pubs. We visited the Swan in Hoxne, the Old Kings Head in Brockdish and the Ivy House in Stradbroke itself and had a great time at each.

  • Had a fabulous stay at Teresa and Darrin's cottage. The cottage itself is modern, clean and well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay in the countryside. The large garden, with outdoor seating area made a perfect spot for enjoying some spring sunshine. Teresa is the perfect host - friendly, easy to communicate with and went out of her way to make sure we had the best possible stay. Will definitely be back!

    Katie2020-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely time at Teresa’s place. We had the house to ourselves and on a sunny day you can enjoy a cup of tea outside in the garden. Very comfortable bed and pillows - and the extra blankets came at hand too for chilling on the sofa! Would recommend it to a couple or two couples, as there are two bedrooms available. We are thankful that Teresa offered her place during these unsettling times of panic due to coronavirus. On Sunday we went to Thetford Forest, 45 minutes away and a real beauty. We are thinking of coming again and wishing the hosts our kindest thoughts! Diana and Cristian

  • We had a lovely relaxing time at Pasture View. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with everything you need. The beds were extremely comfy and the room sizes were much larger than I had anticipated. Value for money was great for such a pleasant enjoyable time.

    Olivia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation, spacious and well decorated with everything you need. Good large enclosed rear garden too, great for my dog. Overall good value for money.

  • Fab place to stay. Super clean! I have OCD so I know. Very quiet. I booked it for a suprise night away for a friends birthday. Teresa made sure there was milk when we arrived. Easy to find but very easy to miss. Plenty of parking....thankfully as we had 4 cars!. Dishwasher was a massive bonus! Very reasonably priced

    Carly2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • We had the most amazing 2 nights here, everything we wanted and more! Absolutely beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. The hot tub and sauna made it extra special, and the bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge when we got there was a lovely touch. Everything was sparkling clean and it 100% had that home from home feel. Wish we could of stayed longer, it was perfect from start to finish.

  • The cottage is as quirky, old and interesting as the photos show. Perfect country retreat, just what we wanted for a winter weekend. Hot tub and sauna are great, but definitely recommend the on site hot stones and massage, what a fabulous extra to relax and unwind. Highly recommend and hope to go back very soon. John, the host is great in terms of communication and answering any questions quickly and efficiently. Thank you John, for recommending the White Horse Inn, great food and a discount card is a lovely bonus! We went for a girls weekend, though perfect for couples or family chill out time. I will be back...think of the film 'Holiday' and you will hope for snow when stay!

  • Everything you could need for a break away from it all. A stunning place, both inside and out. So many adorable features, found myself keep wandering into the downstairs bedroom and saying over and again how cute it was! Despite coronavirus partial lockdown beginning while we were there, the owners did everything to provide what we needed without coming into any contact with us. A perfect getaway. Highly recommend

  • A beautiful, quaint stay! There were 4 of us with 2 dogs and the space was perfect. The upstairs bedroom is very spacious, the downstairs bedroom is small but we loved it! So cosy! We spent every day going on long local walks to the local pubs and spent each evening playing board games with a glass of wine. The kitchen and living room space is a perfect size - and had everything we needed. Thoughtful touches were added - especially the yummy biscuits!

  • Nicky & Denzil’s place was perfect! Exactly as it was described and had everything we needed. We wanted to book a space that allowed us to chill out and explore. It was just over an hour to Southwold which was perfect for us! It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed to make delicious dinners. Little touches, biscuits (for us and the dogs) and flowers. We felt relaxed and at home. We were four adults and the space was perfect for us. Thank you very much. We will be back.

Only 1/2 hour away from Cambridge on the train, Bury is a lovely historic town built on a medieval grid. My Victorian house is on a quiet street and in the town centre, and the room has bunk beds so is ideal for young people travelling together.
This room is ideal for two young people travelling together - sleeping in adult-size, comfortable bunk beds, or for one person. You can have use of the kitchen to prepare your meals, and use the fridge, cooker and washing machine, as well as all crockery and utensils.
Bury is large enough to be interesting and have lots to do and see, but small enough to walk around and not get lost. It is very old and has amazing churches and a cathedral, public gardens and many medieval buildings.
  • It's the 2nd time I've stayed A nice pleasant stay , highly recommended

  • Karen was very accommodating, was very quick to response and was happy to take a booking at very short notice, the room is bigger than it appears in the photos, it was comfortable and very close to the town centre.

    Myles2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's house is the perfect place to stay in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. She was very kind and welcoming and she has the sweetest dog. Everything was just as I expected it to be from the listing and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you Karen

Lovely cottage in the small village of Hinderclay in the countryside with beautiful walks on the doorstep. 15 minutes from the market town of Diss with direct rail connection to London and 30 minutes from the beautiful Georgian town of Bury St Edmunds with its Regency theatre.
At Briarways you will find a large open plan kitchen/living room with a vaulted ceiling, woodburner, WIFI and a smart TV. The kitchen area is equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven and fridge. There is one double bedroom with a king size bed and a shower room. Guests have their own outside area with a table and chairs for morning coffee. For more images follow us on Instagram @briarways.suffolk.
Hinderclay is on the Norfolk/Suffolk border so we have the best of both counties. There are lovely walks in the surrounding areas. There are two pubs a five minute drive or 45 minutes walk along country footpaths if you're feeling adventurous . Hinderclay has its own fishing lakes. The Peddars Way begins just down the road and you can also join the Angles Way. The towns of Diss, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and Norwich are all worth a visit, as are the beautiful Brecks, Thetford forest, Knettishall Heath, Bressingham steam museum and gardens, and the wonderful Suffolk coast with the annual Latitude festival. The village of Rickinghall is a five minute drive away and here you will find a Co op, fish and chip shop, two pubs and a Chinese takeaway. Wyken Vineyards is a 15 minute drive and has an award winning restaurant, beautiful garden, shop and weekly farmers market.,There are also print workshops run by Caroline Somerville and art workshops run by Sue Ecclestone at lilac cottage studio in the local village of Rickinghall.
  • A clean, cosy and comfortable place to stay. We had a fantastic weekend break.

    Sally2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely space with a homely feel and plentiful walks nearby!

    Eliot2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Already cannot wait to stay at Helen’s place again! Such a cosy space with lovely touches, from the fresh brownies and milk so we could have a cuppa when we arrived, to all the tips that were left for places to eat in the local area and lovely walks you could explore. The wood burner was already on when we arrived which made us feel super cosy and felt like walking in to a home. It is a space that has really been thought out well with no expense spared on the lovely decor and homely touches. The bed was very comfortable with nice linen but the highlight of our trip had to be waking up and opening the blinds to find wild rabbits playing right outside the windows. A car is a must as the location is quite remote, which is great for that country feel but still close enough to lovely towns and villages you can explore a few different places everyday which was great. We will definitely be back!

    Poppy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous place from the outside in... has everything you need. Very comfortable and stylish with a great atmosphere. Would definitely stay again. The WiFi didn’t work 100% but Helen and Graham were there for our every need! Amazing Hinderclay guide - we packed lots of interesting things in locally - all within a 20 minute drive. Perfect for a short stay in the peace and quiet.

    Skye2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We were so impressed with this beautiful house where we stayed on our weekend trip away from London. 10/10 for comfort, Helen’s done an amazing job to make this a place of relaxation, tranquility and happiness. Leaving the house on our daily trips away, it naturally felt like coming back to home to put on a log fire and enjoy the warmth of this accommodation.

    Marc2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect spot for a few quite days without any interruptions. We had a wonderful weekend in Helens cottage, everything was great and super cosy!

    Helen2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place in a quiet location with off street parking. The log burner was very nice in the evenings and the bed was extremely comfortable. It had everything you could possible need for a weekend retreat without needing to leave! Would highly recommend.

  • It was a dream vacation away from the busy city life. The place reminded me of my childhood, i’ve been raised on fields too. The place was just as we expected and David and his wife are an amazing hosts. They response very quick and made sure our stay was pleasant. P.S now I know how does a chimney works. Haha

  • A wonderfully unique and enjoyable experience awaits you at The Old Schoolhouse - Mote Farm. A brilliant combination of old and new in house and gardens ensures rest, comfort, beauty, enjoyment and so much more. There is nothing we could suggest that would improve the experience which we loved, and will remember for years to come. We can’t recommend our hosts David & Frankie to highly.

  • The School Room, Moat Farm is a lovely place to stay for a break in Suffolk. The cottage is very clean, well equipped, comfortable and cosy, also very quiet in a countryside, tranquil setting. Some thoughtful, welcoming touches, too. Many thanks.

  • A lovely hideaway as a base to explore Suffolk. The bottle of wine and flapjacks were a nice surprise! If you’re looking for a place to relax, in the countryside with plenty of local walks and attractions a short drive away, this is a great spot. Check-in and out were easy as David and his wife live in the other part of the house. Thanks for a lovely week!

  • Lovely hosts with a beautiful house to match. I would have no hesitation in coming back. A nice comfortable room with large modern bathroom and a lounge for relaxing if needed. Couldn’t fault a thing, highly recommended.

    John2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Alison and Katy were lovely welcoming warm hosts, we felt very comfortable staying in their modern contemporary clean home, lovely modern private bathroom with shampoo, shower gel, deep bath and walk in shower adjacent to the bedroom. Lounge downstairs with TV was an added bonus which we would of used if staying longer at the property. As we arrived late, a well lit pathway to the side door was practical and safe with off road parking on driveway. The bedroom has a comfortable mattress, nice linen, alarm clock, hanging rail for clothes, desk, long wall mirror (good for doing hair), plenty of sockets and a well stocked tea tray with ground coffee cafetiere and chocolate biscuits, nice thoughtful touches which made it a little extra special. Breakfast laid out in the kitchen for us to help ourselves completed the stay with cereals, fresh fruit, toast and jams, spreads, tea and coffee. We will try and come back when it is not raining ! so we can walk around the village of North Lopham and explore more of the lovely Norfolk surroundings and countryside .....

With a private bedroom, bathroom and living room you'll have all the space you want, but the greatest part is definitely chatting with and getting to know your warm and interesting hosts.

It was Christmas Eve and the village of Stanton was amazing which could be reached within half an hours walk. It was so Christmassy in the village with a nice pub and a fish and chip shop as well as great Christmas lights. Good off road parking and a warm comfortable room, with a nice TV. What more could you want. Thanks Jane and a Happy New Year. Jan and Brain

My place is in the heart of rural Suffolk, close to good London / Cambridge rail links and within a 20 min drive from historic Bury St Edmunds with its famous Abbey gardens and recently restored cathedral. You’ll love my place due to its 'get away from it all' location, a base from where you can cycle quiet country roads, explore our beautiful Suffolk villages or maybe relax in one of our good local pubs. Tea / coffee and various breakfast items are provided along with cooking facilities.
The Annexe, although joined to our property is private with its own entrance and patio area, it has a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge, oven and hob. The bed is a large double that folds out from a corner sofa in the spacious living area that includes an ensuite with shower cubicle. We also have free wifi.
  • This is my second stay here and I wouldn't hesitate to choose it again. The room was a great size for me as a single traveler. It had everything I needed for a 3 night stay. Mark and Teresa provided milk, butter, cereal and some other basics for my stay. It was clean, quiet and comfy and the hosts were very friendly.

Our place is close to everything in the town-centre. Very close. You’ll love it's separate hidden cosiness. Smallish but unusual, with own wc/wet-room. Has cuppa-kit, light self-serve breakfast goods, a toaster, microwave & chiller. The annex is good for contractors, business travellers, couples & solo adventurers. Weekends are usually blocked, but your stay may be continued into the weekend on request.
The entry to my home is thru an old building - where you'll be staying. The main picture shows the passageway, with the doors to the room and wetroom. The doors open away from each other, meaning you can pass between invisibly - my kitchen window (mainly behind leaves) is the only one which looks directly on to the annex. Use an entry code to come & go as you wish. Don't be fazed by the lack of windows on the outside - it really is here!
Thetford is a very historic town. There are museums, Dad's Army tours, and High Lodge Thetford Forest Adventure Park (Go Ape, Cycle Trails, Concerts, more) 5 miles away There's a nightclub, cinema and half-dozen pubs within a few minutes walk. There's plenty of eateries minutes if not seconds away, and there's a European supermarket open til 10pm yards away. It's town-centre, but mostly quiet, being enclosed by walls. On the edge of Thetford Forest and at rivers convergence, there's a lot of nature to be found with just a short walk.

    Alex2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is quirky but cosy! The room is well supplied with a chiller, microwave, toaster and plenty of cereal. Although only heated by a plug in heater, it stayed really warm despite some really nasty wintery conditions. The shower in the wet room downstairs was great - lots of water pressure and really hot. The alley you need to go down was very dark, so get your phone torch ready if you arrive after sunset! Karen was there to meet me despite me turning up an hour early and was very welcoming, and also provided a little guide to the accommodation in the room to explain the ins-and-outs. The room is right in the middle of town so convenient for the town centre shops and also close to the river, which is pretty to walk along. All in all this was great place to stay and really good value. I hope to be back! Thanks Karen!

  • Karen’s place is in a great location, right in the centre of town. It’s a cute annex and nice and secluded and quiet. We had our own private access and our own shower room. And she was super helpful throughout our stay! We’d definitely stay here again!

A simple, cosy, tranquil space. Sunny verandah and little private place to watch the sun go down. Enclosed garden, ideal for children. Friendly cats, bats to watch at night, and maybe even the odd hen will come visiting...
The cabin is down a sandy track that leads to the river Thet with lovely views across the fields past an oak tree with swings. Very pleasant bicycling...close to Thetford Forest.
  • This is my second stay here and I absolutely loved it (again). The bed is so comfortable and the surroundings almost silent, except for the birds and the wind. I come here to study and write, and I get a huge amount done, but I also go home feeling rested and peaceful. I'm sure part of that is down to Robyn's home-made bread, which has magical properties. Thoroughly recommended.

  • We had an amazing few days at Caroline’s place. Great walks near by, very safe garden for dogs and the barn had everything we needed and more. Like the other reviews say, the pictures do not do justice.

  • It was a treat to stay in Caroline’s beautiful barn. You can believe the pictures this place is amazing and Caroline is an excellent host.

  • The standard of this accommodation is exceptional and it’s by far the best Airbnb we’ve stayed at. Immaculately clean, modern and a lovely place to stay. Comfy beds, good quality bed linen and towels. Thoughtful touches such as cake and fresh flowers on arrival. Fully equipped kitchen and basics such as bread, milk, eggs, cereals, coffee and tea left for us which were much appreciated. We enjoyed having the wood burning stove on in the evenings and loved the light airy space. Lovely view and rural location - nice for walks. Will be recommending to friends and would love to stay again if in the area. Thank you Caroline for your hospitality x

  • wow, wow, wow, wow this home is the best we have ever stayed in , Its super clean and super modern but feels so cosy . I must admit we dont normally book places that allow dog but based on the reviews I was prepared to take the risk, There was no evidence of this being a dog free zone Thankfully . We have nothing against dogs I may add . The space is out of this world ,The furnishings are of high quality and make the house a home .We stayed for only two nights but we have already booked a week in the summer .The outside space goes on and on the private back decking area is also a space we are looking forward to on our next visit, The beds and the bedding are of high quality as are the en suite bathrooms . Very kind welcome cake and basic supplies in the fridge ,eggs ,bread ,butter and milk .The log burner was a cosy extra to go home to after exploring Suffolk .We had two great meals out you do need a car to get to locations . You will be mad not to book this home . Caroline is a lovely warm welcoming lady , BOOK IT ,BOOK IT .

Wonderful 18th century townhouse in the centre of Diss' conservation area, and next to all amenities of this heritage town. Located on the ground floor, the lovely light studio room overlooks Diss mere and the old town. A spacious bedroom studio, with walk in wardrobe, ensuite shower room and a separate kitchen. There is a nice seating area with sofa and coffee table. French doors lead into a private courtyard - a lovely sun trap during the day - where meals can be enjoyed in the summer.
A separate fully equipped kitchen is adjacent to the bedroom, with washer/dryer, solely for the use of the our guests. There is no parking at the house, however there is free parking close by.
Diss is a historic market town, with quaint tea shops situated alongside old pubs and antique shops. The large green park with play areas, picnic benches, and a bandstand is located next to the town's mere - considered one of the deepest in the country - and home to ducks, geese and a couple of swans. Everything you need is within walking distance, and if you do take a drive out, you can visit local attractions such as Bressingham Steam Museum, a mile west outside of Diss and a must for anyone who loves steam engines and train rides through the countryside. There is also large gardens to stroll around, a children's play area, a 19th century fully operational carousel and a fantastic Dads Army museum. South east of Diss is Thornham Walks, where you can enjoy wonderful wooded walks and a little coffee shop that does amazing breakfasts. Banham Zoo is north of Diss and less than 15 mins drive away - a great family day out.

Perfect for us - two guys on bikes doing a bit of touring round Suffolk - as we could store our bikes safely, shower and chill out after our ride, and then stroll out five minutes up the street to enjoy Bury St Edmunds' range of atmospheric cafes, bars and pubs. We enjoyed the free basic breakfast too!

We are close to Bury St Edmunds and an ideal semi-rural base for exploring East Anglia and the cities of Norwich and Cambridge. Our comfortable and quiet cottage annexe provides a well-equipped place to stay for a self-catering short break or longer, with wi-fi included. The comfortable sitting room looks out onto the private garden where there is a small patio containing outdoor chairs and table. The ensuite bedroom (double-bed) has a vaulted ceiling and ample storage.
An attractive conservatory is where you will find the comfortable living room, with 2-seater settee, coffee table and lamp. The TV and radio is here also. The bedroom has a high ceiling with exposed beams, and contains a free-standing wardrobe plus a large built-in cupboard which combined have plenty of space for clothing and baggage. The en-suite bathroom has a pedestal wash-basin, toilet and modern shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes dining table and two dining chairs.
We are a short drive from the centre of Stanton village, which can be walked in about 20 minutes. In the village centre you will find a village pub, a convenience store, bakers and a post-office. On the other side of the village on the Barningham road there is an excellent farm-shop at Hillcrest Nurseries, with deli counter and cafe.
  • A delightful and secluded cottage hideaway. Ian and Debbie were delightful hosts. Communication was superb. Many thoughtful touches which Debbie provided, clearly demonstrating the qualities of a Super Host. Highly recommend.

    Allan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were given very clear directions to the accommodation, and information about the area, shops, local places to eat, etc. The annexe feels like a cottage, self contained, everything you need was provided, it was sparkling clean, and lovely and warm when we arrived on a wet dismal December evening. There were fresh flowers in the bedroom, and a welcome pack with locally produced fruit juices and chocolates. Also a lovely patio area outside which would be a good place for breakfast in warm weather. Thank you Debbie.

    Angela2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with everything you could possibly need in the annex. Quiet & peaceful area ..... we slept well every night. We had little or no service on our mobiles but that was a nice change to be uncontactable ! But if you rely on yours you may want to check with Ian & Debbie which service providers are better.

    Debra2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie and Ian were absolutely lovely and so was the place! The space was really well used and the garden setting was gorgeous. Amenities were great too! We had more than enough kitchen supplies and the internet was decent enough to watch Netflix too. If we were really being picky then the lack of soap in the shower or the jittery TV was unexpected but we never addressed this so it's unfair to hold that out on its own. It was a mobile phone black spot too so I found that amazing as I got to switch off from the world when I wanted. Absolutely recommend this spot and most certainly aim to come back soon

    Ehab2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable and clean cottage annex, that is quiet and peaceful and surrounded by nice countryside. I would happily stay here again.

    Erik2019-09-12T00:00:00Z

A pretty Victorian cottage with wood burning stove and many original features. Placed well away from the hustle and bustle, the cottage serves as a peaceful rural retreat, just twenty minute's drive from Bury St Edmunds and 4 miles from the Suffolk/Norfolk border, making it a perfect touring base. Luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, feather pillows & duvets and white Turkish cotton towels are provided.
Built in 1861 this former estate worker's cottage enjoys a tranquil rural location and there are lawned gardens with a small pond to the front (unfenced so small children need to be supervised) and a private courtyard area with seating at the rear of the property. The garden is visited by a wide variety of birds such as robins, greenfinches, collared doves, long tailed tits, goldfinches to name but a few. The shaker-style kitchen with breakfast bar (seats 4 people) includes: Electric oven Microwave Brita filter kettle Toaster Fridge freezer Washing machine Tumble dryer The cosy sitting room has a wood burner (logs are provided), 42" flat screen TV and DVD player. There is a selection of children's DVDs. The shingled courtyard area with seating at the rear of the property is perfect for alfresco dining.
Bowbeck is a charming little hamlet which lies within the parish of Bardwell (shortlisted for 2017 Village of the Year). The Royal George pub in Barningham and Six Bells pub in Bardwell are merely a mile and a half away and the nearest shops are SPAR in Barningham which sells freshly baked bread and Hillcrest Farm Shop in Stanton (3 miles). Golfing, horse riding, segway and kayaking are a short drive away. The area offers great opportunities for walkers with the Peddar's Way and Icknield Way just 4 miles down the road at the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Food at the Norton Dog pub is highly recommended (popular so booking is advisable).
  • A truely beautiful house in a peaceful setting to escape all the noise of the modern world. Ellen was great and very quick at responding to any questions and giving us local advice on walks and the nearby town of Bury St Edmunds. I can’t wait to stay again.

    Daniel2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's place was beyond our expectations. The place is so cosy we had an amazing chilled weekend away and the fire made it extra comfortable. Ellen added lots of thoughtful touches and communication was quick and efficient. 100% recommended! Thank you very much Ellen!

    Diana2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's cottage is just as described, large enough but also cosy. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches of fresh milk and biscuits for that much needed cuppa on arrival. You wont be disappointed with the characterful charm and position of the cottage

    Lesley2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in a very rural location . The garden is full of birds visiting the feeders in the garden. Very well equipped kitchen and nice to have hand wash, good quality towels and cosy duvet. Interesting places to visit a short drive away, we especially recommend Wyken vineyard shop and restaurant.

    Angela2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen’s place is a quiet and lovely cottage. It has all that was needed for short or long stays. Lots of information and nice little touches. Ideal location to stay and enjoy the area.

    Trevor2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house was super cosy with all of the stuff we needed for a comfortable stay. Was really lovely and quiet. Thank you Ellen!

  • This is probably my favourite Air b&b so far. Suffolk is a much under-rated County for walking and days out. We loved the house and the surrounding countryside. I cannot find anything negative to say, apart from the landlady in the Royal George is in the wrong business, she has no social skills. I am sure we will be back if we are welcome. Thank you and Happy New Year.

This little Shepherd hut is fully equipped to offer a base to explore the surrounding area. The village is quintessentially English ! Small church - Village green - a handful of houses - more horses than people - very quiet.
We can offer a spare bed for those travelling with children. it is a funky blow up mattress with bedding. Inflated in a minute !! Amazing to watch. Just let us know if you would like the extra bed. You get a hot tub tooooo .. for a small fee !
It is a small village and no pub or shop for 4 miles. please make sure to bring some provisions with you !
  • The accommodation was lovely and clean and had everything I needed. The host was friendly, helpful and accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others and book myself in future.

  • Had a lovely stay at piano forte, and will definitely be back! The hut is really well equipped, the hot tub is wonderful, and plenty of fun things to do and places to explore around Thetford and Banham. Great way to escape for a few days.

    Genevieve2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing, exactly how it was advertised, clean cosy and like a home from home! Loved every minute here and didnt want to leave. The shepherd's hut was well equipped and the decor was very modern and stylish! It was like being in your own private space and you would have never known there was anyone around! Felt very relaxed in the hot tub without being overlooked. I would 100% recommend adding the hot tub onto your stay. One thing I would say is that the Wifi doesnt reach inside of the shepherd's hut but it does while in garden area, however this didnt affect our stay. I always had quick responses from the host whenever i had a question to ask. I will be recommending Piano Forte to everyone and will be returning.

  • I’ve reviewed it ‘same as I expected’ BUT this is hugely positive as this was the 2nd time my parents had stayed - therefore there was a level of expectation which was met. They’ve already booked again...

Poet’s Corner is a cosy two bedroom period cottage full of charm and character, set in the quiet part of Kenninghall in Norfolk. The former home of poet and author Oliver Bernard, the cottage has been sensitively and lovingly renovated with many original features exposed. Whether you are looking for a romantic weekend getaway or a place from which to explore beautiful East Anglia, this cottage is right for you. We are dog-friendly and welcome one well-behaved pooch.
We fell in love with the cottage the first time we saw it and the renovations have been a true labour of love. We estimate the cottage to be originally built in the 16th Century with the upper floor and back added in the mid 17th Century. Guests have the whole house and garden to themselves, so the place is suitable for couples, friends, small families or those who are looking for a quiet place for their creative ventures. The ground floor comprises of open-plan living space with woodburner, a bathroom with shower and a compact kitchen through which you can access the enclosed private garden. A steep and narrow set of stairs leads up to the main bedroom with double bed, and behind it is the second bedroom, which can either have one or two beds depending on the size of your family. Please note that there are no doors on the upper floor and we would like dogs to stay downstairs during your stay.
Kenninghall is a beautiful historic village with a Heritage pub and village shop close by. Stroll into the community orchard and Millennium Woods or relax in the enclosed garden. You may even catch the annual soap box race! Kenninghall is near the Norfolk / Suffolk border and a little further afield you can explore the stunning North Norfolk Coast, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and historic Lavenham.
  • Great Stay!

  • Beautiful cottage and ideal location in a lovely village. Two dog friendly pubs within easy reach , we preferred the food in the White Horse, but the old wooden snug in the nearby pub is incredible- a must see . Comfy furnishings and bedding , love the two separate duvets , used to have this in Germany, excellent if you have a larger restless sleeping partner ! Marie left thoughtful touches , apple juice, bread and some yummy treats for our dog!! The stairs are quite steep , prob not for arthritic knees or little ones ! Everything is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished and a house book full of useful and informative information. Highly recommended!

  • Marie is quick to respond and very helpful. Place is beautiful and clean

  • Magical. Inspiring. Everything about our stay at poet's corner was special. The interiors are impeccable, and our girls loved discovering woodland creatures hidden throughout the house. Marie's hospitality was exceptional. We cherished every moment and only wish we could have stayed longer!

This little Studio Apartment is fully equipped to offer a base to explore the surrounding area.
It is a small village and no pub or shop for 4 miles. please make sure to bring some provisions with you !
  • a supremely comfortable place to stay with excellent high-quality furnishing and fixtures, little touches such as flowers, milk and wine. Charming and helpful host, whose description and photos are very good, only exceeded by reality when staying. Highly recommended.

    Debbie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It really is one of those places where the host has thought of everything. It didn't feel like it was being done to make money but to give people a lovely time.

    Jo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jasmine is very helpful and kind owner, the house is comfy and clean, and is easy to go anywhere, the biscuit and chocolate are so good.

    Cathy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • So many thoughtful touches in this lovely home including a basket of goodies and chocolates upon our arrival. We were greeted by an enthusiastic and friendly host, Jasmine who introduced us to the annexe which was very clean, warm and extremely comfortable. We were pleased to see a good sized bathroom with fluffy towels and a good sized bedroom with a very comfortable super king bed. Even though the location is in a quiet village with parking outside the front door, it was still central to the town of Thetford and Tesco supermarket within easy driving distance. Jasmine was very quick to respond to any queries, even offering places for us to visit during our stay during winter. We also appreciated her changing the linen and towels midway through our two week visit. A wonderful fortnight exploring Norwich. Would highly recommend the Butterflies Annexe.

    Catherine2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our 3rd and definitely not our last stay at Jasmine's beautiful place. Jasmine and Keith are fabulous hosts. The accomodation is first class and you feel at home the moment you arrive.

  • Gill and her family have created a beautiful, stylish and relaxing sanctuary in the Suffolk countryside. The space would be perfect for an individual or couple as a relaxing retreat. The private garden space is picturesque - capturing sun for all most of the day and overlooking the fields beyond. The space inside the Brome Cupboard is warm and inviting and very quickly feels like home. Gill provides are own unique and personalised touch to the interior. The surrounding area is peaceful - you can easily spend your days following the local footpaths across the inviting rural landscapes. Without hesitation, I would recommend the Brome Cupboard - a wonderful place to stay!
