  • We had a wonderful weekend staying at Kate’s place. Kate is a great communicator and a warm, welcoming, hospitable host. She has thought of so many little touches that really make the cottage a fantastic place to stay, from the orange juicer, coffee machine and local breakfast produce, to toiletries, games and books. The wood fire is a great addition and Kate kindly makes it for you before you arrive. The cottage is cosy and spotlessly clean, and less than a 10 minute walk to the main high street. Kate is full of local knowledge and recommendations. If you are a couple looking to stay in Heathcote, definitely book Fallow! Thanks so much Kate! We’ll be back again later in the year for sure.

  • Gorgeous quaint cottage close to town but has the quiet bushland atmosphere. Owner is very hospitable.

    Gracie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kate was very hospitable and extremely knowledgeable of the local area, we had an incredible stay and would highly recommend to all types of travellers!

    Brad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place and host. Lots of thought into making our weekend amazing. Kate is an amazing ambassador for all the local places and goodies. She helped us map out a day trip with wineries and had push bikes that we used to get into town and back. We can’t wait to go back with more to explore.

    Linda2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Kate has thought of everything a guest might need, from bikes to an espresso machine to a soda stream etc etc etc. The bed was extremely comfortable. We were visited by a kangaroo both mornings! We enjoyed walking into town for dinner and also relaxing in the beautiful spaces available at the cottage. We highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.

  • The cottage is cozy, beautiful and really well located. The details were superb and we could not get tired of the gorgeous garden views in the morning sun. What makes this place even more amazing is Kate's outstanding hospitality. We were surprised by such a warm welcome and all the tips and recommendations Kate had available for us. It was an amazing stay and we can't wait to go back! Thanks Kate!

  • Most certainly worth a visit, nice central location in Heathcote close to wineries, a brewery in Heathcote and not far from Bendigo. Amazing bike track from Heathcote to Bendigo for those that cycle. Place is perfect for short term getaways, clean and stunning hospitality from Kate.

    William2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We've been to Heathcote several times now in the last five years but have never come across Kate's property now. And we are so glad that we have. The Cottage is such a beautiful space, perfect for a couple and it comes with everything you could possibly want - board games, a lovely reading area, comfortable bed, television that comes with a Bose soundbar, great insulation and the list goes on and on. The bonus for us was being able to enjoy the local flora - an eco-system painstakenly designed by Kate and family - which then attracted many local fauna. And lest you think it's a far-flung location from my description, The Cottage is a 3-5 minute drive from the Heathcote city centre. We loved it and we would head back in a heartbeat.

  • Highly recommend a stay at Kelly's place. It was beyond my expectations with everything we required for a 3 day stay and more. Newly renovated with kitchen, large modern shower, separate wc, huge vanity space and lovely comfortable bed. Kelly also provided cereals, milk, snacks etc well above what was expected. I highly recommend a stay here and thank Kelly for her outstanding hospitality.

  • We love staying at this property. It’s spotless, and a lot of thought has gone into ensuring the weary traveller is well catered for, e.g. the air conditioner switched on before we arrived, lovely flowers, and very well stocked fridge. We would stay more often, however, it’s always well booked, and it’s easy to see why.

    Candace2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the bed it was like disappearing into a cloud of awesomeness something I have come to find as such a rarity in the air bnb world. Being the coffee addicts we are (Melbourne coffee snob here 😉) it was a real treat to have a real coffee while listening to the cockatoos and rosellas in the morning still. Oh and we saw an echidna cruising along the roadside! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

  • A little gem in Broadford, Do yourself a favour and stay a few nights and relax in the serenity of the countryside. We loved the apartment and all the extra touches provided by Kylie. We enjoyed the walks, the cockatoos, the local sights and even the cows. We had no reception but that was the idea, finally the kids got off their phones. We recommend this little gem and would certainly return again sometime, hopefully for a few more days next time. Ari and family

Private guesthouse with ensuite and lounge. Located on an off-grid blueberry farm with stunning views of the Tallarook Ranges.
Farmstay 3 is located in the Casita which is one of our guest buildings at Blue Tongue Berries. The space is a hotel style private guest room with its own ensuite. This farmstay also has a private lounge room with wood fire heater. A sofa bed can be setup in the lounge for an extra guest on request. This farmstay has lockable private entry. Please note this farmstay does not contain a kitchen but does have a small fridge, microwave, coffee and tea making facilities, cups, glasses, plates and cutlery. Blue Tongue Berries is a 20 acre organic blueberry farm located near Seymour in Central Victoria. We farm premium quality organic blueberries and sell to the local region. We also produce seasonal fruit, vegetables, free-range eggs and lamb. We believe in self-sufficient living and produce our own food, power and water. The farm is completely off the grid and runs on a hybrid solar and wind power system. Our main building is constructed from strawbales and has an energy efficient design. The property overlooks the stunning Tallarook Ranges and is a short distance from the Goulburn River, Lake Nagambie and several popular wineries. The fully serviced town of Seymour with a population of over 6000 is only 5 minutes drive away and contains a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and entertainment. The farm is only one hour north of Melbourne and can be easily accessed by train or car. Seymour itself is located on the main highway and railway line between Melbourne and Sydney. The region is primarily known for its wineries, fruit production and horse studs. Take a Virtual Tour via our website.

  • Stayed at Casita 3 overlooking the blueberry farm ( though out of season) and couldn’t imagine a better labour day weekend stay then this. Definitely one for the memory bank!:) Both Nick & Cynthia are helpful and exceptional hosts with thorough knowledge of Seymour and its surrounds. Cynthia & Nick gave us precious tips and suggestions on mini exploring adventures around different wineyarsa and sculpture gardens around area and there was nothing that did not impress us across it all. Definitely a lucky encounter for us to stumble upon this labour day weekend. Breakfast was marvelous accompanied by resident pooch: Flash . Super Cozy, clean and comfortable cabin that we would recommend in a heartbeat:) Thank you again for a memorable weekend Cynthia & Nick! Lisa & Crew

Thank you for checking out Locksley Park, the perfect country getaway - a secluded twenty acre property in the heart of the renowned Heathcote wine region. This property is truly special, being surrounded by national park. Locksley Park is completely off-the-grid, running solely off tank water, gas cylinders, solar panels and batteries. Check us out on Instagram @locksley_park
Your dogs are very welcome! We just ask that they do not sleep on beds. There is a massive fenced area surrounding the house with lots of trees and places that they can explore. There are two goats, Samson & Delilah, and two horses, Cowboy & Harley, who will be glad of a pat and a carrot over the fence, but please do not enter their self-contained paddock, or allow your dog(s) in there. Locksley Park was originally a sheep station nicknamed ‘Mundy Gully’. In the 1800s, gold was found in the surrounding hills. Mundy Gully soon became a centre for miners prospecting for gold. If you turn left at the exit of the property and walk into the surrounding hills, you will come across remnants of the old mines. Legend has it that Ned Kelly was once spotted spending a night by the dam whilst on the run from authorities. Locksley Park is well known to Tooborac locals for the fig trees at the entrance of the property. To this day, locals have been known to come and ‘sample’ the seasonal harvest. The 'L' shaped house has cathedral ceilings throughout, with open plan kitchen, meals and large living area. The kitchen has a slow combustion stove with brick surround, stone bench tops and farmhouse sink. The meal and living areas have ample natural light, exposed timber, clawfoot bath in front of a two-sided fireplace. With an abundance of Australian native birds and animals outside your window, Locksley Park is a nature lovers paradise. Locksley Park is located 1 hour from Melbourne and the airport, 10 minutes to Heathcote and 45 minutes to Bendigo.
That’s the best thing about Locksley Park. You are surrounded by national park.
  • Rob's place is simply amazing! You don't even realise you are off-grid (batteries never dropped below 96%). Locksley has all the modern comforts of home but the best tranquillity the Heathcote surrounds has to offer. 10 mins to Heathcote for supplies and 6 minutes to the amazing Tooborac Pub for an ale (or 10...) and dinner - could you ask for better!? The bush setting is gorgeous and the 2 horses and 2 goats are lovely company. If you are looking for a getaway from the big smoke or just looking to unwind, Locksley is the place for you!

    Jake2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, clean and peaceful!! A very mindfully built and furnished accommodation.

    Jenni2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Robert's off-the-grid house a lot! Despite the fact that you are literally in a forest, everything inside is modern and comfy including a shower with great water pressure. Lots of space, hip design. I was a bit concerned about the battery based on other reviews but in our case, it never went below 95%. One of the pleasant surprises was a great DVD collection with movies from the likes of Hitchcock, Tarantino, Jarmusch, Kubrick and so on - not the typical random mainstream cinema. The selection actually matched my taste with 99% accuracy, I wanted to re-watch every single DVD from the shelf!

    Denis2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the abundant wildlife. The house is interesting and being off-grid added to this. It was a unique experience which I would recommend

    Michelle2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at Robert’s place! The space was amazing and we loved the bathtub in the livingroom, what a fun idea! Watch out for the scorpions tho, we found one of those in the house. Overall had the best time, the house was beautiful and Robert was a great host to us! Definitely want to come back!!

    Kamilla2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Locksley Park. Totally off-grid and in the middle of Australian bush - it's the perfect place to disconnect and unwind. While it is off-grid and you do need to do things like light a fire to use the stove/ cook your dinner, Robert and his team has everything prepared that you would need to make that easy (wood chopped, kindling collected - all neatly stacked just next to the house) Mind you, there is a butan stove top as well, but that is a lot less of an adventure! If you up for walking in nature, you can just step out the driveway and turn left, to wander through the nature reserve. You could also take your bikes into Heathcote and ride along the old Heathcote to Bendigo train line, or even just a short drive away are Turpin Falls, which are marvelous for a quick swim on a hot day! The Tooborac Pub brews their own beer and is quite the spot for people watching, as well as the many many wineries to sample (responsibly ;-)) Heathcote is also quite a substantial town, which really has all the things you may need (gluten free bread, a supermarket) and the cheapest coffee I have had since 1990's. We had a fabulous time - our only complaint is that we wish we were there for longer!

    Lucy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

  • I really enjoyed my stay. It was great knowing that I was off the grid and I took care to ensure I was recycling and composting correctly (I definitely learnt something). Great view and comfy bed. I will definitely be back.

  • A beautiful, interesting property just outside Seymour, it showcases commercially viable sustainable practices with clean, comfortable accommodation. The views are lovely from the verandah. It is above the freeway, so traffic can be heard but it wasn’t too bothersome. Breakfast from the restaurant was excellent.

  • We had a brief but very enjoyable stay. The property has lovely views, is very comfortable and clean. Nick and Cynthia were fantastic. They communicated well and kindly accommodated a last minute request to change the sleeping arrangements. I would definitely stay again.

    Jane2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Cynthia and both wonderful and thoughtful hosts. They are quick to respond to messages and concerns. Generous with their time for our needs or concerns. Great sources of knowledge for their local environment, social events or tourist attractions. Cynthia hosts on a local radio show which was lovely to tune into about local foods and farming talks. Very cool! And they both help run a local farmers market. Great accommodation, protecting and promoting the Australian environment with their off-grid approach.

  • Pro's: Great views, clean place, lovely bedroom. Con's: Can be a little windy and noisy as a result but obviously dependent upon weather. Overall: Great place to stay, would highly recommend!

    Adam2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia & Nick’s place was relaxing and had an amazing view. The place was comfortable and we had a great time. Recommend staying for breakfast for sure. The hosts are lovely and hospitable. Will definitely come back again :)

  • It was a great experience staying here. We enjoyed the great view and lovely breakfast. And received great travel tips from Cynthia and Nick. I really recommend to order the breakfast.

  • Cynthia & Nick were great. They helped us with the list of places to visit around Seymour although there are not many. The house and place is amazing. We had a lot of fun. It’d be ideal for people who’d like a farm stay.

  • Outstanding service, communication, welcome, location, place etc We were warmly welcome by Max the moment we pulled up in the driveway. We loved that we gave us a grand tour of the place which included history on the building. The location was right i the centre of town. Close to supermarkets, petrol stations, eateries and tourist attractions. We loved that we just walked to dinner! The beds were super comfy with gorgeous linen. We also loved that Max's place was immaculately clean. We loved the extra thoughtful touches such as the boutique soaps, toilet paper ethically sourced (who gives a crap brand), breakfast supplies, bowl of chips on arrival.. etc. A great weekend escape to enjoy the quiet countryside and beauty this country has to offer. Thanks Max!

  • Max was an outstanding host. His hospitality was second to none, making our stay a very comfortable and a memorable one. Max was very knowledgeable on the history of the house and had embraced the lovely vintage charm of the house with the decor, such a beautiful combination of old and new, and wonderful attention payed to the finer things such as comfortable beds and dreamy linen sheets.... Max had great recommendations for dinning in town. We all enjoyed the generous breakfast fodder he had supplied. Such a treat! Thank you again!

  • We had a lovely and enjoyable stay at Jennifer’s place. The location was beautiful and tranquil. Just be aware that mobile reception in the area is very poor and there is no wifi offered at the premises. But other than that the place was as described. Would definitely go back with more people

    Noelia2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet peaceful location. Beautifully presented home with great amenities. Would certainly recommend

    Kathryn2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Jennifer’s place. We had five adults, one baby and one very happy pooch who enjoyed exploring the property. There was an event at the water ski club whilst we were there so unfortunately we were unable to take full advantage of the river frontage, but we did get to enjoy a couple of swims throughout our stay which was fantastic! The house was beautifully styled, perfectly clean and had lots of thoughtful extras. We only wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks for a fantastic weekend.

  • We had the best long weekend at the house! Such a great space! 3 roomy bedrooms, large open plan communal area. Nice outdoor area and access to the river at the back door. Very clean and modern. Would highly recommend.

  • A great place over looking the Goulburn River, a lovely clean home with ample space and accommodation for a family of 7. Close to Nagambie and it was very relaxing sitting on the banks of the river watching the wildlife.

  • Great place in a quiet location! Great to have access to the river which was perfect on those hot days. Quite safe for our four year old too. Winery’s close by and Nagambie only 10 mins drive. Jennifer and Greg we very hospitable ! Boat rides down the river we’re great. We will definitely be back!

The homestead is the quintessential Australian farmhouse and was the centre a large sheep property. Five Gums is the name given to this property when the land was first released by the Government. The home sits in a tight bend on the seasonal Wild Duck Creek, not far from the iconic Wild Duck Creek Estate winery. The pleasures of life here include the creek, tranquility, fresh air, privacy, black nights, stars, beautiful light on the old river red gums.
The room with two single beds in it gives access also to a "sleep out", which is a room constructed on the verandah. This has a double bed in it. The arrangement is suited to parents in the sleep out and their two children in the single beds. The dining and lounge share the same space. There is a separate toilet and hand basin on the verandah outside the kitchen. There is a laundry in its own building outside. The kitchen is equipped with a modern Smeg gas stove and electric oven. There is also a Rayburn wood burning stove and oven, which you are welcome to use with care.
Heathcote's wine industry had its beginnings a long time ago but it is only in the last 15 years or so that it has really matured and expanded. The Heathcote area is good for wine because of the climate and the earth - this is, in places, blessed with Cambrian Greenstone, which is much sought after by wine makers. The iconic Wild Duck Creek estate put the town on the international wine lovers' map some years ago with its Duck Muck blend. Now the big names are here too, like Brown Brothers, but the many small and excellent wineries are what give the two its character. Even the French are here - Chapoutier have tasting room in the main street. The best place to get an idea of the area's wineries is in the tasting room of The Hub, in the main street opposite the National Bank.
  • We had a lovely time at Five Gums. It was secluded and quiet but with lots of space. The country style kitchen was fun and the wood heater kept the place toasty! The veranda out the back was so peaceful, we spent evenings and mornings relaxing with a drink and a book and enjoying nature!

    Phoebe2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great base for exploring Heathcote. Very peaceful, tranquil and private. Lots of wildlife around. Comfy beds and great kitchen! All you need for a pleasant weekend away.

  • Absolutely amazing place. So isolated and quiet! The house itself is a bigger than it looks in the pictures and the property is stunning! Great for early morning walks and exploring! The house is very cosy and has a very comfortable bed! Really appreciated the little dog toy left out for our fur baby too! We loved this place!

  • Wow! What a stunning location and excellent property. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking and a beautiful way to wake up in the morning. The house itself is cosy and very clean. The fire was great to have on the cold winters nights and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely be back.

    Josie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house on a lovely property. We especially enjoyed the huge kitchen and lounging by the fire. A true gem. We will definitely be back.

    Caroline2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, peaceful house in a lovely place - listen to birds, the tawny frogmouth at night, see kangaroos showing off on the high ridge over the creek to the north, sit on the verandah in silence, lounge around in the expansive living area, and there is lots of room for many cooks in the huge kitchen.

  • If you're after a quiet retreat, this is it. The standalone house sits away from everything else. The only thing you can hear is the occasional neigh of a horse. Sandy and Dan are very friendly and welcoming. You can even join them while they feed their horses!

    Toby2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy and Dan were super lovely! I went to their place for a weekend away with my dogs, they were super welcoming and I got a tour around the farm when they fed the horses and cows. My dogs were very welcome and loved running around with the farm pooches! This is an awesome place if you are after a quiet and relaxing time, away from noise and stress! It was lovely sitting on the porch in the evening and watch the horses, just what I needed! Can just recommend this place and Plan to go back sometime.

Heathcote is 100 km from Melbourne airport in central Victoria. The apartment is totally self contained with all facilities in a garden/bushland setting opposite a golf course. Heathcote is known for its many wineries and excellent wine, bird life and lots of kangaroos, monthly Bush Markets and Annual Wine and Food Festivals.
Quiet surroundings overlooking garden and golf course.
  • The views from the front porch were amazing. You can enjoy a cuppa or relax with a glass of local wine and watch the locals play a round of golf. There is everything you could need to make a meal. Or plenty of great restaurants near by. The place is spotlessly clean.

  • Lovely little stay at Peter & Julies place. Fantastic space with everything you need & lovely grounds. Fantastic little extras like cookies and lots of teas. Also breakfast cereals, eggs, fruit, milk & bread. Also lots of nice bathroom bits if you forget something. Great local tips & a little winery tour and town tour from peter :-) Would highly recommend x

    Jasmine2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give Peter and Julie's place 8 stars, I would. For starters, it's the cleanest airbnb I've ever stayed in. The images don't really do it justice. It's a very comfortable apartment in a beautiful rural setting, but close to town. All of that is fab, but what really makes it is Peter and Julie's warmth - nothing was too much trouble and they were so welcoming, we felt instantly at home. Would return in a heartbeat.

    Karen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z

    Tiffy2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin about this stay? It was wonderful! The property is amazing and location idyllic, but none of that would matter if you didn’t have excellent hosts, which we did. Peter and Julie are the kindest, most genuine people in the business. Property highlights: - sparking clean - Excellent amenities - Beautiful grounds - 15 minute walk to town - A gorgeous, child friendly resident doggie - Private entrance - Parking under carport - Thoughtful touches throughout property, body wash, hand soap, spare toiletries, tea, coffee, sugar, bottled water etc. - Child friendly - A beautiful view from the deck The hosts: - So welcoming and friendly! - Even though you are on their property, it still feels private. They are there if you need them, but keep to themselves otherwise - Can’t do enough to help you - Upon hearing that we were bringing young children, Peter and Julie found some toys and books to place in our room. So thoughtful! - They answer the phone when you call, ready to assist you in any way We stayed with Peter and Julie to attend the Heathcote Food and Wine Festival, but are trying to think of an excuse to come back. We just loved it!

  • Great space for a couple to explore the area, the hosts are extra nice and you get a good little retreat with a reasonable kitchen. You might want to bring some DVDs as the TV plays them directly.

Experience the perfect nature escape with the comfort of a beautifully designed tiny house. A chance to get close to nature and yet enjoy the comfort of home. This tiny house is placed on one of the seven magnificent hills, home to a pair of beautiful eagles, only 1 hour drive from Melbourne.
Experience living off the grid and truly disconnect here. Our tiny house is solar powered (and stored in a battery) and waters are gas heated. It offers guests a comfortable stay with its well-equipped kitchenette, hot showers, a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, complete with a small indoor pot bellied stove / fireplace. There is a queen sized bed up in the loft and a couch on the ground floor. It sleeps 2 persons comfortably. You can charge small electronic devices like your handphone. Best to conserve power as much as possible because you don’t want to have the tiny house run out of power at night. This is a Tiny Away Tiny Home. Tiny Away integrates the concept of tiny houses with eco-tourism. It stems from our desire to allow everyone a chance to experience tiny living in the midst of nature and stay in comfort.

  • A beautiful tiny home situated near the farmstay, so it’s nice and safe. Gravel road to get in, but otherwise a beautiful, easy stay! I almost don’t want to recommend it because I want to keep it to myself!

  • Wonderful getaway in a stunning location at the top of a hill with spectacular views. Watch the sunset in the evening and the sunrise the following morning. Warm and friendly hosts make you feel like an old friend. A couple of very quiet and friendly dogs provided additional company - especially around meal times. Great place to get away.

  • We arrived unexpectedly yet were met immediately with great hosts. We were lucky enough not to have any neighbours in the tiny houses next door and were welcomed to walk around the farm. All the ammenities you could ask for however plan your meals in advance as there is only a gas cooktop. Most enjoyable visit, great property, thanks Taylan!

It's comfortable and a good size for a family. It's far from main road, so it is very peaceful and quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be back again.

Leslie had been kind enough to turn lights and heating on for our arrival. We arrived to see kangaroos hopping all over the place. The views and house are as described and the photos. It was very beautiful and peaceful. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and basics such as oil, jam, butter etc. Overall we had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

  • The best of tiny home living with a touch of country charm! I absolutely loved this little tiny home and would recommend this trip to my friends! It provides all the experience of a tiny home overlooking a stunning vista. The hostess was extremely attentive and made it that much easier to sit back by the campfire and enjoy a glass of red! Thank you so much.

  • We had a fabulous and relaxing stay here. The tiny house was warm and a perfect space for two people, plus the views were beautiful. Our highlight was getting a tour around the property by the two farm dogs who were super cute and friendly! Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to experience a tiny house or needing a place to switch off for a few days. Part of the road up to the house is a little steep and rough so we were glad to have a 4WD.

We like to think of it as a rural warehouse! Hidden behind the rough sawn timber exterior of our American style timber barn you will find a light and bright welcoming space. It has everything you could wish for! Comfy place to eat, relax and unwind! Step outside the barn doors and wander around the 6 acre property.
Inside "The Barn" you will find yourself relaxing in no time! You will find a cosy lounge area with comfy couches, wood fireplace, large coffee table perfect for boardgames and a flatscreen TV. Large kitchen area fridge, portable electric oven, 2 burner hot plates, microwave, kettle & toaster, plates, pots, pans and some cooking essentials. Its a full size kitchen but appliances are small portable, so some creative planning may be needed. We also have a large gas BBQ outside complete with hood and side burner. A casual dining table as well as large timber dining table in the more formal dining area. A growing library where you can pull up a chair and get lost in the many books. Upstairs in the mezzanine you will find the main bedroom with super comfortable queen size bed and lounge area. To make yourself comfortable you will find large chest of drawers, clothes rail and sideboard for your bags. The second sleeping area (queen bed) is in the downstairs area which can be sectioned off using curtains for privacy. Attached to the outside of the barn is the bathroom complete with hot shower, basin, mirror & hairdryer. The toilet located in separate outhouse, as we are not on town water and sewer, the toilet is a somewhat palatial composting toilet. Outside you will find cane lounge or up by the dam you will find ceramic stools to sit and relax. NB fire restrictions exist during warmer months so lighting outdoor fires during this period is strictly prohibited.
The property boasts easy access to the town, with its restaurants, shops, galleries, boutiques, cafes, and so much more. The surrounding country also has a number of trails, wineries, and parks to explore.
  • We had a great stay in this barn and would highly recommend it

    Sujin2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is wow. The Barn is everything you see in these photos but so much better in real life. My partner and I wanted to find somewhere to stay between the Christmas - New Year period, and wanted a place in a quiet, country town away from Sydney city. We stumbled upon The Barn and this place has become one of the best Airbnb’s we’ve stayed at. If you’re after a quiet, relaxing getaway with lots of beautiful sunsets, look no further and book your stay here. The Barn is close to the town of Heathcote - with one of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to and an IGA for all your grocery needs. It’s also a good driving distance to the town of Bendigo and Echucha, as well as Lake Eppalock and The Pink Cliffs (we highly recommend visiting these places while you’re in the area!) Regarding The Barn itself, it has all the amenities you need. They have a new outside toilet which is a lot better than the last (I wasn’t looking forward to the night trip to the other toilet so I’m glad it changed haha!). If you’re visiting in the summer, the large evaporative cooler will be your best friend. We stayed on 30-40 degrees days and it kept the barn nice and cool with no problems! Just a note that during summer you might encounter some friendly spiders, so just be prepared! ;) Thanks Jacob for allowing us and our two dogs to stay at The Barn. Our dogs absolutely loved running around outside and my partner and I absolutely enjoyed our time away. We hope to visit again in the future but this time during wintertime as we’d love to try out that fireplace :)

  • We had such a lovely stay in this beautifully converted barn. The space was styled wonderfully and made to feel very characterful and personal. The location is perfect and our sleeps were wonderful on comfy beds with lovely linen.

  • The Barn Heathcote is the best Airbnb I have stayed at. Lots of thoughtful touches and very responsive host. This location was just gorgeous. The views are stunning, the house was amazing and very well organized, even could enjoy fresh morning and starry night. also Jacob & Brad was an incredible host, communication was open and clear and They checked in with us along the way. They sent manual books to share about the best area to enjoy and gave me insights in to what the local area had to offer. The house itself is set in a serene setting amongst trees and is full of nature. Superb heating mat which kept us warm when I sleep. The bed was very comfy and crispIt provided the perfect holiday getaway with the all the classic amenities one has come to expect.

    Hyesun2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jacob’s place was tidy, super stylish and on such a beautiful property. The barn doors that open up at the base of the bed were incredible. I recommend checking out the Pink Cliffs nearby, they were also stunning!

  • Wonderful place with great hosts

    Tom2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Heathcote Barn was everything we we expected. The Barn is utterly charming and it had everything that we needed. The location of the Barn is enough out of Heathcote so you know that you’re in the peace and quiet but you’re close enough that if you need anything, it’s only a 10 minute drive away to the town centre. The decor of the Barn is set out well. The lounge area is very comfortable and the open-fire with Netflix makes the evenings all sorted. The beds are comfortable with lovely linen. Jacob as a host was very helpful and generous with his time when we had questions. Jacob has everything you need to know to have a great stay in The Barn information booklet. I highly recommend a stay at The Barn. We are sorry we couldn’t stay longer.

    Matt2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The barn in Heathcote was a wonderful mini break for our family of 4. It’s situated on a beautiful rural property surrounded by kangaroos. The outside toilet isn’t too much of an issue, despite our initial concerns. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit the most. Lots of wood was provided. It was lovely sitting outside at night surrounded by the stars. The beds were super comfortable and the living area had ample seating with lots of blankets to keep us warm. There were 2 heaters which worked well and kept us cozy. The book and game collection was quite impressive. We enjoyed lots of board games during our stay. We visited Bendigo during our stay which isn’t too far away. The Heathcote Harvest was also delicious. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Do you want to get away for some peace and quiet, attend a function or one of the many events in the area, visit Macedon Ranges wineries or are you undertaking business in the district? We offer comfortable and affordable accommodation. Close to conference centers, wineries and events/attractions. If we don't have any guests before or after your stay check in/out time can be extended. Thanks for looking. Colin and Trudi
Your accommodation is a self-contained unit on 13 acres of land 600m from Lancefield. It has a main bedroom with ensuite and reading area. There is a separate lounge room with TV/DVD. The separate kitchen/dining area has a microwave, gas cooktop, large fridge, toaster and coffee making facilities. It is air conditioned to keep you comfortable no matter what the season. It was originally a 2 bedroom flat so plenty of room. In some navigation systems ( 20%) you will be directed to the wrong address. It is 600m on the right from Lancefield service station traveling towards Kilmore. We will send a map when you book in.
Enjoy a walk along the wide tree lined Main St and grab a great coffee or something to eat. If you would like to get a bit of exercise have a walk around Lancefield Park or take a stroll down the walking track that runs between Lancefield and Romsey (It’s about 8km to Romsey). Alternately a 15-minute drive will take you to Hanging Rock, Woodend and the north side of Mt Macedon. The same driving time to the north will take you through the granite hills to Tooborac. To the east you will find the growing town of Kilmore. If you are not sure on directions and would like to visit any of the many attractions, we will loan you a portable navigation device to help you find your way.
  • A gem of a place, close to everything but tucked away in a peaceful and private location. The space is clean and spacious with good amenities for self catering, although the bakery and the pub at Lancefield are good eating out options. Checking in and out was easy and Trudi and Colin were very welcoming. And so were the two beautiful horses! Highly recommended, we would love to come back.

  • Just needed a night off and this place popped up and looked ideal, booked it late afternoon and communication was great, got there and everything was perfect, couldn’t have been better, the flat is fantastic, comfortable bed and pitch black bedroom at night (something I like a lot), nice kitchen, comfortable couch and the resident horses are quite friendly (take a bag of apples and make a couple of friends) I loved this place and I will be back for a longer stay soon..

  • Well, this little gem of a place was an absolute pleasure to stay in! A quaint little jockey's quarters that has been revamped into a lovely self-contained granny flat. What's more, the hospitality provided by Colin and Trudi was exceptional. Colin went above and beyond in his hosting duties and we were so incredibly grateful. The resident horses coming to the fence for a pat was a wonderful highlight. Thank you so very much for a lovely stay! P.s - to others travelling to the area, there is really no public transport or Uber. However, the flat is within walking distance of the local pub and I can recommend their hot chips!

  • Georgina and David’s place was more than we could ask for! The place was stylish with very modern amenities and absolutely sparkling clean! We really felt like we had escaped into the countryside on this amazing property. David and Georgina were very hospitable, wonderfully welcoming and were ready to help with anything we needed! Rarely ever does an Airbnb exceed my expectations, but this was an outstanding exception- they’ve set the bar high.

    Elysia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina and David have put together a great experience at Goldie Views, the location is secluded and quiet providing great views and of the ranges. The land is huge providing opportunities to walk around the forest/woodland behind the barn, where you can see some wild animals if you’re lucky. The retreat is in between two towns and drivable distance of many, even providing chances for some great day trips if you have the time. Little touches put together by Georgina and David make the experience more memorable and the retreat is spacious and cosy at the same time. Would highly recommend for any couples looking to get away, especially from the city.

  • Georgina's and David's apartment is definitely the best place we stayed so far during our long years' experience of travel. It is well-thought-through, with many details such as the fireplace that looks so real, but is not and keeps the whole unit warm. The bathroom floor heating is a thing we loved in the morning as well as the two showers! The relaxing sofa, the huge TV screen, the very well equipped kitchen!!! And then there is this soooo comfortable bed (and we are really picky about beds!) and don't forget about the provided breakfast, produced by David and Georgina themselves. Two different jams, very highly recommendable muesli, the organic eggs, butter, milk, orange juice, etc. We loved it and they both take care to top up everything you need! We never met hosts that made you feel welcome in such a sweet way, thinking of each and everything. A bowl with freshly picked raspberries was waiting for us on the counter of the kitchen with a letter beside it welcoming us. Both hosts are such nice and easy-going people. David showed us how to walk around on their land and even bothered taking his time in the evening to help us meet kangaroos in the evening. The view from their balcony is breathtaking and has a huge roof to shelter you from wind and rain. This accommodation is worth staying there for more than a weekend!! The only thing we regretted: Leaving the place after five very interesting days while feeling absolutely refreshed.

  • Very accommodating well thought out and elegant modern barn stay. Great views of rolling hills above the lake. Georgina and David are open to share there home grown treats from there gardens and orchard. Will not disappoint.

The top floor is yours to enjoy. Two very large bedrooms, with small living area. The bathroom has a bath, seperate shower with toilet included . There is a small balcony from the lounge room, overlooking the common, where a push bike track is located. There is plenty of parking available, as the property is on a corner, and there is public parking space across the road. This is in a quiet area in Broadford, walking distance to the shopping centre
There is a courtyard at the side of the property which has a bbq, table and seating, which you welcome to use. To stay at this property, you need to be fit enough to climb stairs. A friendly black labrador called Oden lives here.
There are some nice walking tracks around the area. Mt Piper is only a few kms away, and is a good hike for fit people
  • A great place to stay. Very spacious rooms and bathroom. Much roomier than expected. Lovely host. Easy going. Comfy beds. Dirt bike track across the road for kids.

  • This Air BnB exceeded our expectations. Glenda was a wonderful host, she had turned on the air conditioner for us, so the rooms were lovely and cool when we arrived on a very hot afternoon. The rooms were ideal. so clean, comfortable, quiet and welcoming. Excellent value, we will be back. Thank you!

  • We had the most wonderful stay. What incredibly lovely, genuine, interesting people. Could have chatted to Bill and Helen all day! The place is spotlessly clean and their breakfast is fantastic. More than happy to recommend!

    Matt2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Bill and Helen went above and beyond what we expected. The tips regarding the predicted weather and best route home, cold drinks waiting for us on arrival, assistance in getting us to our event and back again in some challenging conditions and keeping the generator running for us when the power went off were all appreciated and made our stay very easy and enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as hosts or stay with them again.

    Alisha2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, just a brilliant set up, lovely couple with so many helpful tips about the area, the house is immaculate, the room well thought out, bathroom beautiful, thoroughly recommend a stay and take time to chat to the hosts. 10/10

    Debbie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely room in a peaceful, spacious and newly renovated farmhouse. Bill and Helen were amazing hosts, very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home, including offering to drive us to and from a nearby wedding and putting on a lovely breakfast spread in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay and couldn't recommend their place and their hospitality highly enough.

    Christian2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean, comfortable, warm hospitality, well located in the area to explore the Strathbogie Ranges, the vineyards around Nagambie, and the lovely old town of Avenel.

This 1 bedroom river cottage has been fully renovated and is a mere 90 minutes drive from the Melbourne CBD. It is bright and airy and the views down to the river are stunning. The cottage has direct access to the lovely Goulburn River. There is queen bed, all amenities are renovated with a kitchenette and balcony overlook the river. The cottage has been set up similar to a luxurious motel room. THIS IS STRICTLY A NON SMOKING COTTAGE, cleaning fees may apply if this request is ignored.
This house is situated on the Goulburn River with absolute river frontage and a jetty. The house is about 400 metres upstream from the Goulburn Weir. The weir is a very popular tourist attraction and well worth a visit. The Goulburn Weir, is Australia's oldest major irrigation structure and an engineering marvel of its time. The weir has been awarded international heritage status. There is a pedestrian walkway across the weir so visitors can take in and experience all the facility has to offer. **** Swimming, canoeing and lazing about the river is a highlight. But there is a strict policy of no diving or jumping from the jetty or bank due to unforeseen changes within the river. It is better to be safe than sorry!! **** The Nagambie/Goulburn Weir region is famous for its lake, wineries, thoroughbred industry and river system. The great Black Caviar has been immortalised in a statue in the centre of Nagambie overlooking the lake. For those who like their fishing this is the spot for you. This part of the river has no ski boats. There is a large amount of natural structure and the river is tranquil and peaceful. There is a private jetty on the premises. If anyone requires a boat ramp for their fishing boat we have one on our premises which is next door.
Our area is a lovely quite community. We encourage people to enjoy their stay but please respect the lovely area you are staying at.
  • We have stayed in a fair few air bnbs in our time but this one is the best by far. So peaceful on the river. It's lovely and modern. It's also a lot more spacious than it looks in the pics. Louis was so lovely to us! Even offered to give us a ride to our friends farm after we left our car there. So lovely waking up and reading a book on the front porch, with the sun shining in and overlooking the river. Can not recommend enough for a romantic weekend away!

Modern cabin with comfortable bed. Close proximity to wineries and brewery, can’t fault it. Great communication from Mick and Lois. We will return sometime in the future.

  • Staying at Lois and Mick's felt like visiting with family! They made us feel so welcome and the little cottage was comfortable and sparkling clean. It's a magical and quiet spot for some rest and relaxation (and winery tours if you're that way inclined) - highly recommend!!

  • Stay here! First time in a while I’ve had such a positive AirBnB experience (I was locked outside for 7 hours into 2am at my last place but never got to leave a review 😂). This place is really beautiful and awesome for an athlete racing on the lake or for a couple staying away. The sunset on the infinity pool and Nagambie is really beautiful. Bed is super comfy and it was really quiet when I stayed, best sleep I’ve had in an AirBnB for a long time too. Endah is awesome, really recommend this place.
