My place is close to 80/90 Toll -road exit 83-Mishawaka IN. Visit us for events at : Notre Dame/St.Mary's/Bethel college/Holy Cross College. Mileage to ND Campus is 11.4. Our home is approx. 45 min. from the Amish Community of Shipshewanna In. Forty five min . from St. Joseph Michigan and lake Michigan's Harbor communities. Wine tasting venues. Fruit picking in season.

THE SILK ON THE BEND is a one bedroom apartment on the lower level of our home. Full kitchen -laundry and living room and 3/4 bath. A separate locked bedroom. Tastefully decorated on the St. Joseph river. We live on the premises-upper level. There may be a squeak or two in our floors. The house is as old as I am, so after 64 years...things change, right. Kid friendly and toys and games provided.

Our neighborhood is quiet and country. The river is our backyard highway. Most guests say that they sleep deeper here than they do at home. :)

The place was spotless and the location was beautiful! The river views are amazing and the apartment was perfect. Would recommend to anyone!

What a cozy, charming space! As a tired, weary mama, I came to relax and rest and an overnight at the Silk on the Bend did just the trick! The bed was so comfortable, the views of the river were peaceful, and the amenities provided were perfect (especially the tea kettle!) I will definitely be back! Maybe next time when the weather is a little nicer and the pontoon boat is available for a ride ;-)

The guest house is located in the Near Northwest Neighborhood (NNN), adjacent to downtown South Bend, on a diverse working-class block of simple old houses and all types of people. The neighborhood is multi-racial, multi-cultural, and multi-generational. Like many neighborhoods near the urban center, our neighborhood experienced decay during the "urban flight" years as people moved to the suburbs, and it definitely suffered during the most recent economic crisis. But thanks to good neighbors, the city, and our neighborhood association, things are on the upswing, and we are happy to be a part of our neighborhood's revitalization. Lots of improvements have occurred in the past couple of years. For example, we ourselves have renovated two houses on the block, the city has torn down an abandoned house, and another neighbor has turned a vacant lot into a lovely flower garden and even installed a "Little Free Library" there. The neighborhood association and historic landmark preservation group have restored two houses, and Habitat for Humanity built a lovely new home on a formerly abandoned lot. All three of these wonderful projects are just kitty-corner from the guest house. Good things are happening! In terms of safety, we have lived on this block for over 30 years (many of them as a single woman) and have had very few problems. As for walking at night, we ourselves feel comfortable doing so as we know the neighborhood well, but others might not be depending on individual comfort levels. The walking route from the Airbnb to downtown is getting better and better as our city has recently added pedestrian-friendly lighting to the streets. If you would like to walk downtown, we'd be happy to suggest the ideal walking route. Although our block is old and time-worn, we love living close to downtown and we appreciate old houses, even the not-so-pretty ones. But while our block has very simple old houses, just across Portage/William Street, you will find the Chapin Park Historic District, which has brick streets and beautiful colorful historic homes, and makes for a lovely stroll.

Our home is located on a scenic stretch of the St. Joseph river. The spacious and recently renovated apartment is below the main house and is accessed with a separate entrance through the back yard garden. We are 14 miles from Notre Dame and downtown South Bend with easy access to the highways. The apartment is a large, one bedroom space with a TV in the living room and a small kitchen for your use. The second bedroom in the apartment is a game room with a ping pong table.

The apartment is a completely separate unit with a lockbox for entry.

This is a beautiful wooded neighborhood that follows the river. It is quiet and safe.

Residential home with two twin-sized beds in one room near small urban areas and college campuses. Within driving distance of Notre Dame University (20 minutes), Near a park, also near a creek and wooded area to walk. We host international travelers and medical students on rotation.

Two twin beds in this second story room decorated in a modern motif. The room is black, white and mixtures of greys with red highlights. Guests use a shared bath and a half between other airbnb guests, if present. We are 30 minutes from Notre Dame campus, 40 minutes from Shipshewana flea market shopping and the host family is very welcoming. We do month long med student rotations for a special rate (message us here to set this up). We love hosting international travelers!

It is quiet, a great place to safely walk or run on the roads and neighborhoods, the people around are helpful and caring.

Nadia and her cousin were both extremely generous with their time, food, and space. The house is very comfortable, and they are constantly working on ways to improve it. They added blinds the day before I left. If you need something, just ask. The location is ideal for getting to Notre Dame. The street is quiet and tree-lined. I stayed in the smaller room, and the bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, and I was able to keep my groceries in the kitchen. All in all, a comfortable trip! Not to mention an excellent value! I would stay here again.

Stay at our master suite in house along the Saint Joseph River in Mishawaka, IN. Relax and enjoy the new king memory foam mattress, sleeper sofa, and new 49" TV. Spacious laptop workspace with hickory desk and 7ft wide quartz desktop. Wifi and Coffee included. You'll have your own private exterior entrance into the bedroom and attached bathroom. It's a nice couple minute walk through the neighborhood to Merrifield park with large playground and river walk. 15 minute drive to Notre Dame.

There is an exterior door with direct access into your private bedroom and attached bathroom. We've worked hard over the past year to remodel this space to make it nice and comfortable for guests. The bedroom is finished with hardwood floors and new tile entryway leading into the bathroom. I custom built a hickory desk and drawers and added a quartz top. The sofa bed is a convertible type sofa. The base of the sofa bed pulls out to become a recliner / lounger perfect for TV watching. The back then can be folded down for sleeping. The new LG 49” TV is connected to 100 mbps WiFi plan for fast streaming of internet shows. TV includes FireStick with access to our AppleTv Plus subscription, multiple streaming apps, Airplay to stream from your phone, and antenna for local channels.

This a safe, scenic, family-friendly neighborhood. Enjoy the river views from the backyard. There is a table and chairs and grill setup you can use while you enjoy the backyard. We see many fishing boats on the river from our house. Mishawaka has great parks including one of the premier city parks only a few minute walk from the house.

The guest suite is a lovely space with its own bathroom. A separate entrance was very important on this trip and Mark’s place was perfect for what I needed. Both the bathroom and the room were very clean, well decorated, spacious and had good lighting. The property is right on the edge of the river and it was a nice to walk outside to see the view for a bit. The communication between host and guest was great and timely. I would love to stay here again.

This place was perfect for me as I was in town to help a family member. The location was perfect, very pastoral and peaceful. Blue, their dog, is friendly and loves to go on walks in the woods with you. Suzanne and Dan could not be more gracious or responsive yet respectful of your privacy as well. The place is very clean and new. I loved the soapstone Franklin stove and Dan is always willing to start a fire for you if you want and need the help. My Girl Scout skills are rusty so I had Dan start one several times. Definitely a place I would stay again. 10+ stars.

This is a great place a little outside the busy-ness of the South Bend/Mishawaka area but within a few minutes of anything you could need. The Museum District / West Washington neighborhood is a racially diverse, historic neighborhood. Some South Bend folks remember this area as the 'bad part' of town, and years ago that was probably the case. However, the City of South Bend has been systematically restoring its neighborhoods, and a special focus has been put on the Museum District because of its heritage and the fairly recent relocation of the Studebaker National Museum to its heart. Like much of South Bend, some areas in our neighborhood still badly need restoration, but other parts--like Washington and Colfax--are idyllic for walks, lined with gorgeous homes. The streets can be a little dark at night but generally safe if you take care. Also like most areas, the occasional crime of opportunity does happen, so stowing valuables where they can't be seen is just good sense. For your added safety and security, we have video cameras trained outside the home and in common areas inside as well. We're right across the street from the nationally acclaimed Studebaker Museum and The History Museum, located in the Oliver Mansion, a 38-room Victorian house where the J.D. Oliver family once lived. We highly recommend strolling downtown via Washington (past the K. C. DeRhodes House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and Tippecanoe Place, Clem Studebaker's historic mansion and restaurant) and walking back Colfax, past the home of Schuyler Colfax (Vice President under Grant). Also down Washington is the Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture and IUSB's Civil Rights Heritage Center.

The Avanti House is a wonderful and fascinating place. It is full of memorabilia and history surrounding the far-sighted but short-lived Avanti sports car. Laundry and cleaning can be done daily if you're staying longer than a night, if requested (towels, bed sheets, and so on).

Walking distance to Downtown Mishawaka, bus depot, Riverwalk, shops, convenience store, liquor store, bars, and restaurants. Never had issues in this area before. It's an up and coming area that most buildings are getting remodeled.

Ryan's place was just what we were looking for during our short weekend stay. I'm an ND alum, back for a friend's wedding on campus and you can't beat Ryan's location. Ryan was really friendly, communicative and easy going with check in. His place is nice and clean and the bed was really comfortable. I would definitely recommend Ryan's place to anyone travelling to the area.

Our home is a renovated home with lots of charm in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The home is just a few minutes drive to restaurants and grocery stores. It is a 10-15 minute drive to Notre Dame and a 5 minute drive to Illinois University South Bend and Bethel College. We have plenty of parking and provide a very child friendly space.

This comfortable three bedroom home offers an upstairs queen suite with tub (no shower upstairs), a full bathroom on the main level, as well as two additional bedrooms, dining room, living room, sunroom/office, and full kitchen. The basement is unfinished but does feature a great space for kids to play, and a washer and dryer. Feel free to let your kids/grandkids play with the toys! The backyard is fenced in and perfect for your kids or family dog to run and play. There are three TVs in the home and each is equipped with Utube TV, Prime, and Disney+.

We live on a quiet and safe block in South Bend (not all parts of South Bend are). We have fantastic neighbors! Also, for your comfort, we have an easy to use security system.

Amazing people and great place. You feel safe and it is a excellent atmosphere. This was our first AirBNB and we were very impressed. The communication was tremendous and the directions easy. Beautiful place and very loving and welcomed feel. Thanks a bunch!

We are so thankful for all the accurate reviews previously posted. As we can confirm and agree with most. Our stay was extremely clean and very comfortable. They spared no expense or time in organizing and providing a wonderful experience to us. So many discoveries not in the listing. Such as snack baskets, toiletries if you forgot something, along with doors and draws clearly labeled where to find things. The attention to details like this make for a true 5 star experience. Warm and cozy home with a wonderful fenced-in backyard. We had plenty of room for a family of four and a dog. The House was very clean and had all the amenities we needed to host a Thanksgiving meal with family.

Cassandra’s home was perfect for us. We went to a Notre Dame game, and the location was amazing. Only a 10 min drive to campus, and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. She left us very thoughtful notes and instructions. Cassandra communicated with us so well and responded to any questions we had immediately. Definitely a go-to for our next trip to South Bend!

a Charming house ina convenient location of South Bend Indiana. The host was super thoughtful leaving out little snacks and a thoughtful welcome basket that included toothbrushes sunblock and Band-Aids. You could feel the peacefullness of the home. Nice little house near IUSB. Walking distance to campus. Nice quiet neighborhood. Comfortable. Only negative is the furnace is kinda loud (not a huge issue but was something to get used to) and the bathroom is pretty small. But a great value and great location for IUSB

Residential home with a single full-sized bed in one room near small urban areas and college campuses. Within driving distance of Notre Dame University (20 minutes), Near a park, also near a creek and wooded area to walk. We host international travelers and medical students on rotation. We have also hosted traveling nurses employed on contract in the area. Feel free to inquire about special rates for long term commitments.

This room is decorated in an old style with a beautiful quilt comforter on a full sized bed and a shared full bath and a half, if other guests are present. We are 20 minutes from Notre Dame campus, 45 minutes from Shipshewana flea market shopping and the host family is welcoming. We do month long med student rotations for a special rate (message us here to set this up). We love hosting international travelers!

Pleasant families and kids along with quiet slow traffic off the main thoroughfare.

The room is exactly what is described: very comfortable and clean. We arrived late and Greg stayed late for us and made sure we felt at home. In the morning, they prepared coffee for us. Carie and Greg are great hosts. We are sure we want to stay at their house again next time! Highly recommend!

I feel so lucky to have met Cari and Greg through Airbnb. They are an amazing couple and amazing hosts. They made me feel at home and welcomed me to hang out but gave me space and privacy. In the mornings they had coffee and various kinds of breakfast bars and bananas. The bathroom and room were clean and comfortable. Even when there were other guests in the other rooms, they made sure the bathrooms stayed clean. They were very thoughtful and accommodating, often thinking of things even before I could think to ask. They would give me a heads up on who would be in the house. They provided so much great information about the area’s things to eat, do, see and events. They are just so interested in trying to ensure their guests have a good experience in every way. As a traveling physical therapist I stayed there for over a month and extended my stay easily.

Greg and Cari are the nicest hosts imaginable. They will take the time to get to know you and they help you feel completely comfortable in their home and in the room you book. Their home is quite large and is surrounded by a beautiful yard and wooded area. All the homes in their subdivision are nicely maintained. Cari was very timely in responding to my messages and staying in touch with me. She fixed me a very good cup of coffee in the morning which I really appreciated. They have a small adorable dog, Cali, and I loved getting to meet her. The location of this Air BNB is perfect if you are going to Notre Dame, the Amish Country or just need to get off the road for a while while traveling across Indiana. I look forward to returning!

We didn't get to meet Gary and Marie because we had to cancel our stay at their place (and get a different place a bit further east) because our day at Cleveland Clinic went on so long. From the time we booked and through when we cancelled they were at all times just wonderful and kind, responsive, friendly, and thoughtful. We hope to make that visit with them another time.
