  • Great as always I am a worker in a medical business manufacturing products to support the NHS Clare has from the outset worked to make the flat, clean & safe

  • Due to the current climate I was unable to stay with my mother whilst carrying out my job as a firefighter. As a key worker Clare kindly let me stay in the apartment, giving me some much needed rest. The apartment was spotless with ample towels and refreshments. Great communication throughout. Thank you for helping me out.

  • Brilliant as always Return regularly as work locally to the flat

    Ian2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Clare’s place was spotlessly clean, perfectly equipped and full of thoughtful touches. Super easy check-in, easy to find and extremely comfortable, I honestly couldn’t fault the place. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Lauren2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed here now a couple of times and it is fabulous. Clare always puts in thoughtful touches, from milk in the fridge, a mint chocolate on the tea cup, clean towels a plenty, Netflix ( such a bonus). Also making sure everything has been extra cleaned/ disinfected because of the outbreak. The place itself is just perfect. It's comfy and very prettily decorated, plenty of space and in a beautiful, quiet location. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.

    Clair2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is great place to stay, we are regular and very happy guests 👍

My house is a beautiful 2 bedroom house with 2 floors in the famous tourist village of Edwinstowe. It has a bedroom, bathroom, front room, kitchen & stunning balearic style cocktail garden. Minutes walk from Sherwood Forest & centre parks. 35min City
My space is modern and very comfortable with all mod cons like the latest Apple TV, music channels, balearic cocktail bar, fire pit, evening garden illumination and seating patio on the front of the house etc. I have a very comfortable double bed in one bedroom and a lovely new corner sofa bed (double) in the lounge, allowing 4 guests to stay in total. The 2nd bedroom upstairs is an office space and is locked to guests. I also have beautiful 3 mile views over the fields and canopy of the legendary Sherwood Forest and a national bike/walking path that starts at the foot of my house and goes deep into the forest. I also have two good mountain bikes to rent out for £15.00, per bike, per day, so all my guests have the opportunity to see this stunning nature reserve in all of its glory. Please let me know if you are interested in the additional mountain bike hire.
My place is literally and instantly bordering fields and trees leading within minutes into the forest. In 5 minutes you saddle a river that is beautifully lined with trees. This takes you into the forest (also a great place to swim in the summer) either to sherwood pines or Sherwood Forest nature reserve. My home is also very close to stunning attractions such as centre parcs (1.5 mile away) rufford abbey (2 miles away) thoresby hall (4 miles away) climber park (7mikes away) sherwood pines (1.5 miles away) Sherwood Forest nature reserve literally starts on my doorstep and is a 5 minutes walk away. I’m also a ten minute walk to the village centre where there is a picturesque high street offering a bistro, French restaurant, brand new smart canteen and bar, traditional teak pub bar and restaurant in keeping with the area which is beamed and full of character. There is also a brand new restaurant opening in the old library, a cake and coffee shop, gift shops, 3 Chinese takeaways an Indian take away, Turkish kebab takeaway and a good old fish and chip shop. There is also a post office on the high street with a good sized coop for amenities. My home is in a very quite spot in the village overlooking fields, trees, rivers, Sherwood pines and the start of Sherwood Forest nature reserve. If you would like to ask any more questions please reach out to me and message me. Warmly, Cory
  • Thank you for a lovely stay Cory!

  • Great host and house all round, sofa bed a bit uncomfortable but aren't they all? :)

    Jodie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We have the best time at Cory house and honestlly the house is clean and warm wich was the best way to spend couple of nights in the place calling Home! Very relaxing and Cory gave us some good tips about where to spend our time in Sharewood forest and central parks around. Great experience and highlly recommended!

    Cărbune2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The home is really well located, and very clean and tidy. Cory was really helpful too and made it all very simple!

    Jason2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Cory is a great host, made check in quick and easy and felt he would always be at the end of the phone if you needed anything. A great little place to retreat to.

    Fraser2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed 2 nights over Christmas, lovely place. Great communications from Cory with all the information we needed to use the house. Spotlessly clean, a very welcoming host. Many Thanks

    Stuart2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cory was so great! He gave very clear information on where everything is. His place was spotless and gorgeous! It’s exactly like the photos. Shower and water were lovely, great temperature and pressure, plus there’s a heated towel rack! The house heats up quickly which is a bonus on cold, dreary, rainy days plus, added bonus, the floors are heated so your toes are toasty! And the bed is to die for! It’s very comfy and warm. He has a few items in the bathroom and kitchen, spices, toiletries etc, helps when you run out or forgot to pack something. Cory was quick to reply to messages so I felt confident if I needed anything, it would quickly get sorted. It’s also very safe, not only do you have neighbours near by but the doors have locks, so you can sleep easy. It’s an easy walk to everything, highly recommend St Mary’s Church ask for Harold or Graham. The cutest cafe on high street and Sherwood Forest is an easy walk too. The village itself is very friendly. The children’s schools are putting on nativity plays and there are plenty Christmas services. Highly recommend staying here!

This one bedroom, ground-floor flat is x1 of three flats that I offer in the same building, all offering a home from home environment! Opposite Retford Railway Station and close to town centre. This ground floor flat has a double spacious bedroom with flat-screen TV & WIFI. Separate to the bedroom, combined kitchen/living-TV room with a sofa bed (click clack) ideal for x1 adult or x2 small. Spacious bathroom for pampering sessions with shower only. Free off street parking.
Retford is a market town in Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands of England, 31 miles (50 km) from Nottingham, and 23 miles (37 km) west of Lincoln. The town is in the valley of the River Idle and the Chesterfield Canal passes through the centre. The village of Ordsall, west of the River Idle and the East Coast Main Line railway, and the former hamlet of Thrumpton are suburbs. Road Retford is bypassed by the A1 trunk road and the A57 which links Retford to a number of major towns and cities, with London just over two hours away. The East Retford bypass was built in three stages mostly along what was previously the A57. In 1957, the West Drayton diversion opened up to the B6387 near Elkesley. Also near Elkesley and Gamston is the Retford Gamston Airport. The section from Elkesley bypass to Five Lane Ends (A614 junction) at Apleyhead Wood opened in 1958, and the third section was from Five Lane Ends to north of Checker House at Ranby (A620 junction). Recent investment led to a renovation of junctions at Blyth, Great Whin Covert and Markham Moor.
The accommodation is located near to Kings Park where you can enjoy the beauty of nature. This accommodation is also located within 5 minutes of chesterfield canal where a walk is highly recommended to help you to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Leisure and entertainment Retford is home to the Bassetlaw Museum, which was created in 1983 and has a number of collections donated by people in the local area. It was voted the Nottinghamshire Museum of the Year in 2009, following extensive renovation.

  • Dawn is a very lively personality :-)! In case of problems, you are immediately there. The apartment was clean. It is a bit clairaudient, is just a "Colonial house" with only one stone and without insulation. The bedroom to the street is a bit louder, wg. the passing cars and the train. But otherwise all the best! Thanks Dawn

  • What a beautiful property and what wonderful hosts! The house is the perfect mix of modern and kitsch cool. It was also always toasty warm which considering our group was two Australians and an Indonesian travelling in winter was much appreciated! The breakfast options of fruit, cereal and toast was a lovely touch and very generous amount of cereals to choose from. The shower and bathroom on the first floor were a dream, perfect after a long day hiking around Sherwood Forrest! It was perfectly located for all we needed to do and only five minutes from shops to stock up on supplies - the kitchen was so well appointed we ended up cooking every night because it was such a great space! Can not recommend this host enough. If we are ever travelling in the area again we will not hesitate to stay here. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

  • A great find :) Stayed 4 nights whilst visiting family in the area. It was perfect for me - somewhere peaceful and quiet to come back to and rest, only minutes from the train station - and my favorite running route along the chesterfield canal :) I had my car with me this time and there was always parking along the road. House was spotless and my room was comfy and warm. Great to have a little kettle and choice of teas in my room as well as the ones in the kitchen All communication was clear and easy and Liz was welcoming and friendly. Good value place and would stay again. Definitely recommend.

  • Andrew's house was spotlessly clean. It was warm when we arrived (around 7pm) which was lovely. We had the place to ourselves which meant we felt very comfortable and able to relax while we were there. Lots of little things were remembered, i.e there were hairdriers, an ironing board, vaccuum cleaner and an airer. Towels and bedding included. We didn't need to use the tumble drier so didn't venture into the garage.

  • My first Airbnb experience and what a great one it was. My partner and I stayed on New Year’s Eve and the Annexe was the perfect location for dining at The Dovecote Inn. As well as being spotlessly clean, the Annexe felt very secure and was well equipped with everything that we needed, including lots of breakfast choices, a hairdryer, toiletries, tv/DVDs etc. The bed was particularly comfy and we had a very peaceful sleep. Joy was so friendly and helpful which made us feel extremely welcome. We would definitely recommend the Annexe. Thank you Joy & Richard for a perfect stay!

The site entrance says 'Guests' and is at the end of the slip road. The sound of the wind whistling in the trees.. The quiet chatter of birdsong in the air. . The sunlight glistening on the river that peeks up through the woodland floor. Up for a spot of time travel? No machines necessary, just book the Log Cabin at The Old Vicarage, a 17th-century house in the village of Elkesley, 20 minutes' drive from Worksop and an hour from Nottingham. Its grounds run down to the Poulter river, and are lined with stands of acacia, sycamore, ash and oak trees originally donated to the first vicar by the Duke of Newcastle in the 1830s. You'll sense the history all around you, from the old house to the remains of the water mill in the river bed. There's ample space around the site for old-fashioned outdoor activities, with a rope swing and stepping stones over the shallow river and a bridge that's perfect for playing Pooh Sticks. In the surrounding area there are animal parks and nature reserves to walk around, or to head back further in time, you could take one of the trails through ancient Sherwood Forest, around quarter of an hour's drive away. Guest facilities on site centre around the Car Bar, set in a 500 million-year-old sandstone cave open during the summer season and small children's play area NEARBY ATTRACTIONS The surrounding countryside offers cracking opportunities for walks and wildlife-spotting, with trails around the lakes and wetlands of Idle Valley Nature Reserve (15 minutes' drive) and lakes for fishing too. Then there's Sherwood Forest, 25 minutes away: some 450 acres of wildlife among ancient oak trees, alongside a wealth of biking and walking trails to take you through them. Adventure seekers can see it all from the tree-tops on ropes and wires at Go Ape, and the kids can clamber about at Robin Hood’s Hideout, an acclaimed natural play area. For family antics out of the forest, Sundown Adventure Park (20 minutes) has rides and themed playgrounds for the under-10s and families can also make tracks for Ferry Farm Country Park (45 minutes), to feed lambs, meet pigs and zoom about on go-karts and the adventure playground. An hour away and a major hub since Robin Hood's days, Nottingham still draws the crowds. Tour the castle and the caves, stop for a snifter in Ye Trip To Jerusalem (oldest pub in England, perhaps...), skate on ice at Motorpoint Arena and see what law and order meant in the Sheriff’s days at the National Justice Museum. For further historical wanderings, Creswell Crags presents an array of prehistoric caves in a cracking limestone gorge and Newark's castle, Air Museum and National Civil War Centre sum up the centuries very entertainingly, all around half an hour away. • Location was great. Comfy bed. The flat was well equipped with everything you could need. Communication with Dawn was five star! She replied so quickly to any queries even though she was halfway across the world! Just a note for the less mobile. There is a slope down from the road to the back gate, a step down to the door and two steps up to the bedroom.

    Karen2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Dawns place was perfect. She is very accommodating and the flat itself is immaculate. Short walk to the station makes it very accessible, so couldn’t recommend enough!

  • Great.

    Elisha2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn is a superb host friendly and helpful. When we got lost, due to silly satnav, Dawn was wonderful and really did everything she could to help us arrive safely at her property. The self contained apartment was spotless clean and very much like a home from home. Slept peacefully after a busy day and evening and highly recommend her apartments to all. Thank you Dawn. • Perfect place to stay, spotless, brill communication, restful place

    Jo2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn is absolutely lovely and very personable without being at all ‘intrusive’ to you as a guest. Her place is very airy and bright for a place that is not absolutely enormous - it didn’t feel small at all! And the bedroom itself was not at all small, in fact it was a really good large size doubling up as a super comfortable living space. My Son and I felt very comfortable both sleeping in but also chilling out in here when we weren’t out or in the kitchen or garden. The garden I found totally cute, and with a tiny subtle touch of fabulous humour that really appealed to me - esp the large pink rubber duck in the more traditional stone bird bath! Just playful, the entire out door ‘decor’ in what could have been just a dull back yard has been recreated to be now this very useable and utterly fun and bright garden space which I loved! And very secure and private too. The kitchen/dinning space was absolutely spot on as well and very well equipped for cooking, storing food, dining and so on. Everywhere was airy, clean and fresh through out. Lovely and light and bright too. All in all my Son and I loved it and absolutely plan to return! Soon. Stasia (and Phoenix)
