Come stay in my spacious and beautifully designed tiny cottage in the trees! Wake to windows full of sky and songbirds. Enjoy your morning coffee on the back deck for a chance to see mama bear with cubs foraging in the ravine. It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood only 4 minutes from downtown...(Uber and Lyft is available). It's cozy, quiet, and close to everything! Adults and Airbnb guests only... Thank you!
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (288 sq ft downstairs, 100 upstairs and a 100 sq. ft. deck) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with medium roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • Definitely recommend this place for any length of stay in Asheville! This place has it all: it is close to great food and trails to explore, while being far enough away from downtown to avoid making you feel overwhelmed. Karen was very accommodating and kept the place spotlessly clean for us. The space is very functional while still looking amazing and feeling cozy. We truly had everything we needed!

  • Karen's Tiny House was great. Simple but elegant and comfortable. The view from the back deck is lovely. I'll definitely book again.

  • The tiny house was a lovely stay just outside asheville. The space is clean and cozy and Karen went out of her way to make sure we where comfortable and taken care of. My wife loved all the cute additions and furniture. Would definitely recommend a cozy stay here!

  • The tiny house is amazing. We stayed there for a week and the place honestly felt like home by the end of the trip. Karen is also an amazing host. She was incredibly helpful, responsive, and hospitable. I can't recommend this spot enough.

  • This place is so perfect! A home away from home. Cozy meets comfy!

    Jason2020-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was everything and more! Everything was super clean and smelt delightful. The back pitch was perfect for some evening book reads or just relaxing and hanging out. The location was also perfect in regards to blue ridge parkway (about 5 minutes or less) and to many good hiking spots! Karen was very attentive to any questions and also provided many good resources in regards to places to eat and do around. Would definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying again one day.

    Haley2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This Tiny House was a perfect little getaway! We enjoyed it very much, it is close to everything we needed. The space is plenty big enough for two people and cozy! The bed was very comfortable and the view on the back porch was amazing! We will definitely try to come back and explore more!

We think our house is pretty special, but luckily you don't have to take our word for it, Architectural Digest recently chose it as the most beautiful Airbnb in North Carolina (architecturaldigest.com/gallery/most-beautiful-airbnb-in-every-state). Set in the serene and beautiful Riceville Valley, we are also just 12 minutes from downtown Asheville (or Black Mountain) and 5 to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The photos are better than any description we can give but the house is minimalist and modern while also being warm and inviting. Custom kitchen with concrete countertops, stunning views from every room.
Set amidst the serene and beautiful pasturelands of Riceville Valley, the tranquil location is only 12 minutes by winding road from downtown Asheville (or Black Mountain). Drive for less than half that time to reach the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • This place was a dream and we can’t wait to return ✨✨

    Kristen2020-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at John's place. The home is beautifully designed and the views are spectacular. John is a great host. He responded to all our requests promptly. We really look forward to another stay at this beautiful home!

    Jennifer2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I loved our stay. John’s place is sparkling clean and extremely comfortable - and you can’t beat the views. John is also very responsive and a great host. Highly recommended!

    Jason2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • John has a beautiful modern home, comfortable accommodations with amazing views. Secluded in the mountains just outside of town it offers privacy and solitude (a great place to “get away”) while still being accessible to everything Asheville has to offer. The home was well designed and functional. Hope to be visiting again in the future.

  • Awesome.Awesome.Awesome!

    Brandon2020-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect and even better in person. The architecture is beautiful. The view is phenomenal. And there was local beer upon our arrival. Eleven out of ten for all of it.

    Loree Beth2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay close to Asheville! Colorful and spacious. Take a book or some music and stare off into the mountains

    Eric2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. The 5-Star reviews are accurate. The home, location, even the neighbors are all very nice. House HVAC, washers dryers are state-of-the-art. Many outside electrical outlets (important to us as we drive an EV). The details are taken into consideration. John is a timely communicator and there were even complimentary IPA's in the refrigerator. The mountain vista views right outside the windows are wonderful to wake up to each morning. The only pieces of feedback are for the oven. We bake and the oven door wouldn't stay closed without help. Fun place to visit.

Walk back past tall trees, over a small wooden bridge with built-in love seats. Massage tired feet on a polished river-rock shower floor. This rustic 2-story cottage, dating back over 100 years, has whitewashed stone walls and a wood-burning stove.

  • Johnny’s place was great! Very secluded and sitting within a lovely neighborhood on the mountain. The house has comfy beds and is equipped with great amenities (grind & brew, Apple TV, great pots and pans) which made for a very comfortable stay! You can sit on the back porch and see a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. Only a 25 minute drive to Black Mountain and its associated hiking trails. During our stay, the host was very kind and responsive to our needs. There was a bit of a termite problem, but they were very attentive and will be handling it before the next guest arrives! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to a friend who was looking for a cabin. Thanks for everything!

  • I can not articulate how incredible the property was and how wonderful Johnny and Shani were as hosts. It becomes clear immediately that every one of your needs has been addressed before you get there and the level of communication from them was unmatched by any other Airbnb hosts we’ve ever encountered. Not only will we be back but we would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit Asheville.

    Harry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Johnny's place! It was a wonderful and secluded location, while being convenient to both Black Mountain and Asheville. The layout is wonderful, and the home was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again - great for a couple or a small family!

Treehouse: a beautiful sanctuary nestled on 13 acres in a private gated community. Never before available to stay until now! Engineered with the highest safety standards in mind, it is truly a home away from home. An excellent place for couples, families, or even large groups to stay and sleep inside or out. Conveniently located only 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and The Asheville Airport. We hope you appreciate it as much as we do!
Located in a private community on 13 acres, with your very own gate, you can rest assured no one will be disturbing your stay. Included but not pictured, will be a full size luxury mattress that can be laid on the floor if the reclining couch or upstairs beds are too cramped. It should be noted that the upstairs beds can comfortably sleep 1 person in each that is about 5' 8". (Generally meant for small adults or kids) The couch is very comfortable and lengthy, and inflatable full mattress will be the next best option for adults. Additionally, you are welcome to bring tents to camp on the wrap around deck or down below deck. On a clear night the stars will take your breath away. There is currently construction at the entrance but it should not affect your stay! Also, during the cold winter months the shower is inoperable because the water lines freeze. However, we offer our house if you wish to use the facilities.
Private gated community, however we have our own gate and offers near complete privacy
  • This was an excellent stay. We have 2 German Shepherds that love to run. Excellent space for them to get out all of their energy. The fire pit (with LOTS of firewood provided) was excellent. We appreciated the movie projector and the large wrap around deck. Fantastic weekend!

    Stacey2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AWESOME! Came across it in a pinch and needed a place to stay for the night while on a trip with my friend and her dog that wouldn’t break the bank. We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit, a movie on the projector, and slept soundly with the windows open to let in that cool crisp mountain air. As a host myself for two unique spaces on Airbnb, I appreciated the small touches and the quick communication from the host. 10/10 would recommend

    Saylor2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very unique space and very well thought out. It definitely exceeded my expectations!

    Muingo2020-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot if you are looking for something very simplistic. We really did not use the inside area at all with the exception of the mini fridge to store our food. We brought a tent and camped outside. Loved the stream near by and the large fire pit....we will definitely be back in the future. Recommended for outdoorsy folks.

    Alicia2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • my family and I really enjoyed this place. With everything going on it was just nice to get away for a little bit. Very quiet, clean and we absolutely loved the scenery.

  • This treehouse is in a beautiful setting. It’s a wonderful place to spend some time. Wonderful hosts!

    Marcia2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to go if you have a dog! So much room for them to run around and the large fire pit was just what we needed to get away under the stars.

    Rachel2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The s’mores equipment was very thoughtful and was a blast around the campfire. We loved watching Marmaduke on our projector, and the sleeper sofa was easy to use. The space in total was very cozy and we had an amazing night in Fletcher. Thank-you!

Built in 2010, Waterfall Cottage provides a romantic, comfortable, rustic retreat space in the woods perched just above a magical flowing mountain stream. Drive only 15 minutes into Asheville, 7 to 10 minutes from hiking, restaurants, and grocery shopping.
Our beloved Waterfall Cottage is perfect for an individual or couple who wish to experience the best of both worlds, the peaceful zen of the woods with two mountain streams coming together on our property (directly off of the back deck of the cottage) as well as being within 15 minutes driving distance to both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain (where you will find great abundance of amazing restaurants, shopping, nightlife and other attractions). We do not consider the cottage to be a "tiny house" since it is roughly 330 square feet in size. In the main room, there is a queen-size bed as well as a small living space with a futon plus table/chairs for 2 people. Also, there is a full bathroom (from which you will have a view of our small waterfall), and a cozy galley kitchen (for simple food preparation). Your own private back overlooks the water. The cottage is located on one acre of land in the Buckeye Cove Community of Swannanoa (between Asheville and Black Mountain). The "main house", where my husband Jason and I live, sits about 50 feet from Waterfall Cottage. If you like, you may also meander along the woodland path which we created along the perimeter of the property. We are eager to share our little piece of paradise with likehearted souls! NOTE: -To get to Waterfall Cottage, you will drive a half mile on an unpaved road. While there is a small amount of incline in spots and the road is not always in the best of condition, you do not need a special type of car to get to us. I personally drive a small Prius(not an all wheel drive car). The only time when driving in our neighborhood becomes problematic is when we are dealing with significant snow accumulation on the road. -Many guests at Waterfall Cottage are not able to get a signal on their cellphone. Usually driving a short distance out of our cove will restore your cellphone signal. Wifi is available in the cottage, so if you have Wifi Calling available as part of your cell phone service, you may be able to make calls/send texts this way. Also provided: -Sheets/Towels -TV with Roku including Netflix and live broadcast TV via Spectrum -Air conditioning : a stand alone unit, which cools this smaller space down efficiently -Heat: a space heater plus electric baseboard heat if needed -Refrigerator (medium-size with a separate small freezer compartment) -Coffee maker(fresh local coffee and tea selection provided) -Toaster oven and Microwave oven -Blender -Two electric NuWave brand burners for cooking -Basic cookware/cooking utensils -Flatware service for 4 people, glasses, mugs, etc. -Standard staples such as dishsoap, handsoap, cooking oil, sugar/honey, salt/pepper. Jason and I have been practicing massage therapists in the Asheville area since 2001. For an additional charge, you can also book a single or couples massage with us for during your visit. Massage sessions will take place on-site in Waterfall Cottage. Massage therapy rates are: $75 per 70-minute session ($150 for couples massage) $100 per 90-minute session ($200 for couples massage) (We prefer that massage sessions are scheduled ahead of time before your arrival if possible.)
  • This was our 2nd time here and I cannot wait until the 3rd! This is the most relaxing little place nestled right in the mountains with your own personal view (and path around) a little stream and waterfall. Inside, there's a great queen bed with a beautiful quilt to the left, and to the right is the bathroom, kitchen, and common area. The little kitchen is the ideal cabin kitchen, with a good amount of cookware and utensils and some essentials like olive oil and aluminum foil. I don't even want to begin describing the outside because I'd be here all day, I'd rather you experience it for yourself, it's way better than anything I could write. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Asheville area.

Located 2 miles from several trails in Montreat, NC, as well as 2 miles from Downtown Black Mountain, Hidden Haven is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and feel immersed in the charm of the mountains. Montreat not only offers a gorgeous college campus, but it is home to several trail heads that lead to some of the most gorgeous views in the area. And after hiking/running, Black Mountain has a plethora of diverse restaurants all within 2 miles.
Hidden Haven is the upper level of a duplex that is tucked away from the small town of Black Mountain; however, is close enough to get to anything you want. The lower renter is long term and wonderful to ask about any local attractions. We are also only 10 minutes away and can be reached easily during your stay. Our hope is when you arrive, you feel like you are in a home away from home. We have included several little extras to help you relax and enjoy your stay such as teas, local coffee, homemade bread or other breakfast items, washer & dryer, iron, shampoo and soap, and more. Our favorite place to relax is on the porch during the fall and winter months with the solar lights! There is enough for 2 cars to be parked by the stairs, possibly a 3rd but please don't block the lower level parking which is by her porch. She has a 2 car spot there. Also, please no smoking inside the apartment. It is a smoke free environment. If you smoke on the porch, please be mindful to keep the screen doors closed so it doesn't creep inside.
Our place is a half of a mile from the Montreat gate and about a mile and a half from downtown Black Mtn with all the shops and restaurants.
  • On point and very willing to assist with any and all.

  • My 28 year old son, husband and I just enjoyed a lovely 2 day stay at Wendy’s place. We found it to be extremely cozy and welcoming and allowed us to relax. The location was quiet enough so that we felt that we were away from the city, but populated enough so that we did not feel isolated. The house was fully stocked with everything that we needed, including coffee and tea, and although we did not eat breakfast in, there was oatmeal available in the cabinet. I would definitely recommend Wendy’s place to anyone who was looking for a place to get some rest and relaxation.

    Caren2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Super close to Montreat and downtown Black Mountain! Easy drive to Asheville, so it’s truly a way to feel like you’re in the woods while still being accessible to everything you’d want.

    Matt2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place has everything to make you feel at home!! Wendy has thought of everything to make you feel comfortable. The colors and decorating touches are SO relaxing!!! My only regret is we didn’t have more time!!

  • Wendy's Hidden Haven is a true gem. Every convenience is available in this super clean, very cozy upstairs apartment. The two bedrooms were perfect for my daughter and I and I enjoyed browsing through the books about local history. Wendy was so quick to respond to our reservation. I look forward to returning to this special place and enjoying the sunny deck in warmer weather!

  • William and his family were amazing hosts. The Carriage House was exactly what I was looking for to enjoy a quiet retreat in the mountains. The hot tub, full kitchen, WiFi and flatscreen TVs were above and beyond amenities for the stay. Can’t wait to visit again.

  • I really enjoyed my stay! I didn’t know anything about the area and hoped it would be close to some great hikes as that is what I was coming to the area for! The place certainly did not disappoint. Super close to black mountain which is such a cute town too. And the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after my 9 mile hike to Greybeard mountain. Would definitely stay here again if I am back in the area!!

    Rachel2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • William’s place is lovely! The location is perfect if you’re planning on hiking; a 5 minute walk brings you straight to the Rainbow Road Loop and Lookout Trailhead, both of which are amazing hikes. The apartment is clean, spacious and super well equipped (I cooked all my meals there!). The hot tub is awesome and has a beautiful view of the forest and mountains nearby. Would 100% return!

    Juliana2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place pretty secluded in the mountains. It was pretty private and quiet which is what I was looking for! Had everything we needed to cook our own meals and relax. Would consider going here again!

    Allison2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place if you want to get away from the rushed city life and forget about everything. There were several quaint towns and awesome hiking trails. The apartment was tucked away with a lot of privacy. We had a relaxing weekend getaway!!

Close to Asheville and Black Mountain, but private enough for a mountain retreat, this walk-out basement apartment nestled in the trees has full length windows and plenty of natural light. You'll have your own kitchen, laundry room, walk-in closet, bedroom, full bathroom, large living area, two+ dedicated parking spaces, and outdoor seating area with bonfire pit. Enjoy the one-acre yard, explore the creek, or swing on the swings. We hope you love this piece of paradise as much as we do!
Honestly, we pinch ourselves almost daily -- we are so thankful to live in this incredibly beautiful place! Mountain living that's close to everything! Black Mountain retains small-town charm and southern friendliness, with easy access to Asheville's diverse food scene, breweries, creative arts, and outdoor pursuits. Our place can be your home-base to explore this amazing area. Black Mountain has a cute downtown with galleries, shops, restaurants, and a sweet town square with oversized rocking chairs. Asheville has art, gourmet food, concerts, street musicians, and gorgeous nature year-round. Here are some of our family and friends' favorites: To eat/drink in Black Mountain: Open Oven (breakfast/lunch) Dynamite Coffee Blue Ridge Biscuit Company Louise's (breakfast/lunch) Fresh Wood Fired Pizza My Father's Pizza & Pasta Trailhead Restaurant The Hop Ice Cream Pisgah Brewery (music too!) To explore: Lookout Mountain in Montreat Catawba Falls in Old Fort Kitsuma trail in Ridgecrest for hiking or mountain biking Blue Ridge Parkway -- gorgeous views! Mount Mitchell -- one-hour drive to the top of tallest peak in the East WNC Nature Center In Asheville: Biltmore Estate Grove Park Inn - wine at sunset, Gingerbread Houses at Christmastime French Broad Chocolate Lounge Tupelo Honey Restaurant Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company -- $3 movies at the Merrimon location River Arts District Shakespeare in the Park The Guesthouse has 100% ground-level entry, which is hard to find in the mountains. It is completely flat from your car to the entrance and throughout the apartment. Our uncle with Rheumatoid Arthritis appreciates this easy-to-maneuver entrance and layout. We can even rearrange furniture if that helps you move around easier -- just let us know. **We live upstairs. We are working very hard to teach our 3 young children not to make unnecessary loud noises in their bedroom (which is just above the guests' bedroom), but you may hear occasional footsteps and voices from above (especially from our toddler, who hasn't quite gotten the concept of using "soft feet"!). They often wake up at 7 or 7:30am, and although we try to occupy them in another room, we apologize in advance for any noise. Ear plugs and fans for white noise are provided. No smoking please, inside or outside.
Right outside the Montreat gate, we are convenient to camps (Merrimac, Ridgecrest, Crestridge), conference centers (Ridgecrest, Monreat), colleges (Montreat, Warren Wilson), and the town of Black Mountain. Just 1.5 miles (with sidewalk) to Black Mountain, one mile (sidewalk or trail) to Montreat, and steps away from our favorite hiking and picturesque creeks. We are 20 minutes away from Asheville (including the Biltmore Estate), and 30 minutes to the Asheville airport.
  • We had a great time at Courtney’s place! She was so kind and thoughtful. Her place was very nice. Her kids were so sweet and funny! We enjoyed this experience and she was very accommodating, too. Had everything you needed. Her husband even helped jump my car off when I had issues! I would say, if the noises of children bothers you then I would suggest looking elsewhere. It wasn’t something that bugged us though! I would consider coming back to her place!! Affordable and not too far from black mountain area and not too far from Asheville too!

    Natalia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I were looking for somewhere to stay outside of Asheville [and then drive in during the day] and this place was perfect! It wasn't too far from downtown, only about 15-20 minutes. The place was also super quiet and cozy; it's pretty separate from the other houses and with its own entrance you wouldn't even know it was part of another home. Nice and clean when we arrived, easy check-in, and there was even a chalkboard with maps, Asheville/local tips, and fun places to visit or eat in the area. Cortney and her family were very nice and welcoming; I would totally stay here again given the opportunity! This place is worth the stay. :)

    Anna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, great location.

    Louis2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with very thoughtful host. The wood burning fireplace was a bonus, since the weather was very cold with snow when we arrived! Lots of privacy and very thoughtful touches...a welcome basket with snacks, and coffee creamer in the refrigerator.! We will be back on our next visit to Black Mountain.

    Kathy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cortney's place was the perfect set up for my husband, me, and our two dogs. Not many places allow one dog, let alone two. She even provided an extra crate for us to use when we ventured out for a bit! Loved having the lower level apartment with easy access to our vehicle and their yard for the pups. We were very satisfied with our stay!

    Katharine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Love loved Cortney’s place! So many thoughtful touches to feel like a home away from home. The location is a very peaceful and restorative natural setting and was perfectly located to explore both mountain adventures and urban life. Would definitely go back!

    Whitney2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cortney was a wonderful host. She gave explicit details how to find her house. The apartment had wonderful light. The fireplace was stacked with wood and included matches, there was a sweet basket of goodies upon arriving to the door, the bed was very comfy and plenty of well meaning information about the area. The place was very neat and clean. The family lives upstairs and are very attentively considerate to knowing there is a guest downstairs. I will be back!

    Lynne2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I had a great stay - we were so comfortable and had everything that we needed. It was filled with light and very spacious. It is very convenient to Montreat, literally just outside the stone gates. Cortney made everything so pleasant and easy for us!

  • This was an amazing place to stay. Much recommended. Especially for last minute trip.

  • Best smelling place we've stayed in, ever! Hosts were gracious and charming- I was a little hesitant to be sharing space with the owners, but it was private, and convenient- and, fun to talk to owners! They were charming and gracious and had great feedback on area...we so enjoyed ourselves!

    Suzanne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Esteve’s place was lovely. It would be fun to have stayed longer because of all the games downstairs!

  • Michelle and Esteve's house is a wonderful place to stay when you are in Black Mountain. The family is so warm and welcoming, and their house is lovely. It is perfectly clean and has all the expected necessities plus a number of nice extra touches. We will definitely stay with them again when we are in the area. Highly recommended!

  • Wow. This place was a true gem, far exceeded expectations. Close to Montreat, nice little downtown area, larger than expected space with lots of privacy. Close to Asheville but felt nice as a mountain retreat. Space is well designed and hosts are great! If you like cats they are super friendly and cute.

    J. Mikaela2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Esteve were extremely hospitable and kind. We are OBSESSED with their cat Pepe who cuddled with us this morning, and the place was better than expected! Everything was clean, we had our own space, and it was in a great location! Would definitely stay again!

    Kali2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Esteve’s home is the perfect location for exploring the Black Mountain and Asheville areas. The space was lovely. They have taken the time to add the special touches in the rooms. We hope to return and use the outdoor seating area and firepit!

    Susan2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really sweet place to stay. Michelle and Esteve make a point of giving their guests plenty of space while being perfectly available. Their home is delightful with fun touches everywhere. I had a blast playing foosball with my teenage son while we listened to old time LP records on the turntable. There is not usually so much for a mom to do with a teenage son, besides watch tv. It's a fantastic refuge!

  • To say that staying at this cabin was the highlight of the weekend would be an understatement! John was the best host and provided everything as detailed in the cabin’s listing! I can’t wait to visit again in the future and future travelers will NOT be disappointed!!! Beautiful views and a great place to connect with friends and/or family!

    Zina2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We would not hesitate to visit this incredible cabin again. It was well decorated, and felt just like a slice of heaven in a charming little community. We felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves at the cabin, although it was just barely a 10 minute drive into town to the local grocery store. Not only was the kitchen and entire cabin spotless, but it was stocked with everything we needed to cook for ourselves, play games, watch movies and of course enjoy the beauty and majesty of the Great Smoky Mountains.

    Janelle2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful for a weekend getaway with friends! John was responsive and welcoming, and the property is just as listed.

  • Thank you John and Rachel for accommodating us at your beautiful cabin. I loved the privacy and the view and appreciate the games and the collection of movies for children and adults. You can't go wrong with this place, it was an incredible trip and the town of Black Mountain is absolutely beautiful.

  • My friends and I were looking for a cozy, clean, and spacious cabin for our weekend getaway and that's exactly what we got! John's place was spotless and stocked with everything we needed for a fun and relaxing weekend away. We especially loved the board games and jigsaw puzzles as well as the gas fire which made things extra cozy on a cold winter weekend. We were just minutes from a grocery store and the cute downtown area of Black Mountain, and a short 15 minute drive into Asheville. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals, and there was lots of info on local hikes and other attractions.

    Aby2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful cabin with outstanding view. The location is very convenient and private. Very nice hosts, clean cabin, and great communication. We would stay there again.

    Ali2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for groups attending montreat conferences! Outside of the gate and a five min drive up the hill make this cabin perfect for small groups!

    Taylor2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • John and Rachel's cabin is very homey, and tastefully decorated. It is reasonably priced, not too far from the cute shops in Black Mountain, and only 20 minutes to Asheville. They have gone out of their way to have every kitchen gadget you need for cooking, also supplying some bare essentials you need like spices, paper towels, dish and dishwasher soaps, clothes detergent, dryer sheets, wood for the fire pit, movies to watch, board games to play and puzzles to do. Since we went for Christmas, I asked them to put up a decorated tree for us, and they did. They responded quickly and we were very happy with our experience.

  • I had a delightful visit to Swannanoa. Scarrie's home offered just what I needed for lodging. Having a private living space with access to a bathroom and kitchen suited my needs entirely. The back porch and yard were especially nice when my son and his friend (Warren Wilson students) came over to visit on their afternoon run. We had a picnic outside and listened to the babbling brook on a beautiful afternoon. I'll cherish that experience for a long time. Leslie

    Leslie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Scarrie’s place is not scary. It is a nice little private suite in her house with its own porch and entry. The little brook nearby makes a delightful background noise while reading on the porch. I would stay here again.

This is a light and bright traditionally decorated room situated on the second floor of our home. It looks out on a nice view of a mountain ridgeline. Your private bath is a full one with tub and shower. The queen-sized bed has a comfortable mattress. Fresh towels will be provided daily, if you wish. You have a large-screen TV with satellite service--lotsa channels. Wifi service is provided. Reasonably priced therapeutic massage is offered on the premises by Carol. We are a couple, both in our early seventies, both in good health. We walk daily, ride bikes some days, and take advantage of classes and a pool at our YMCA, located about a mile from our home. Both of us volunteer in the community. It’s our habit to quietly read late night, so the whole house usually becomes quiet early. We won't provide breakfast, but you may stash stuff in our second fridge and use our washer and dryer if you wish. You'll enjoy the shops on nearby Cherry Street and beyond. Arts and crafts are bountiful here in Black Mountain and throughout the mountains. We are a half-mile from an I-40 on-ramp. I-40 gives you a quick ride westward into Asheville. Traffic inside Black Mountain is usually pretty easy to navigate and most of the sights of the town are within walking-distance of our house. Two blocks away, there's a farm-to-table restaurant, very quaint and quaintly named Louise's for the owner's grandma. They serve dynamite coffee that's endlessly poured for you once you've purchased the first cup. A full-service health food store is two-and-a-half blocks away. Black Mountain is a gem of a town. We chose it 29 years ago and love calling it our home. Come see what it's like. It's likely you'll like it, too.
Our neighborhood is most walkable, quiet and unpretentious. We’re less than 3 blocks from downtown. Many of our guests save themselves parking worry by leaving their cars here when they visit restaurants and stores downtown. We walk on the nearby Black Mountain campus of Montreat College almost every day. We encourage our guests to do the same.
  • Jim and Carol's place was perfect for a quick stay in Black Mountain. I made a last minue reservation and they were very accomodating. The space was very comfortable and it was nice to have a private bathroom. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Carol made me coffee in the morning, and I had a lovely conversation with her. A great place to stay and I definitely will stay again next time I'm in Black Mountain. :)

    Brandy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Carol's home was cozy and clean. The location was so convenient. Right off I40. You could walk to town from their house. Carol was easy to communicate with and was so nice to greet me and visit a bit, but gave me lots of privacy.

  • Jim and Carol are great hosts! This was our first time renting a room through airbnb and it was a great experience. We had our own private space and bathroom. Their house is in a great location with many shops, restaurants and bars/breweries in walking distance. Louise’s Kitchen was our favorite restaurant and is a 3 minute walk. Also, BAD craft is an awesome shop with unique and local art, delicious desserts and local beer and is also a short walk from Jim and Carol’s.

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely home in beautiful Black Mountain! You can walk to local restaurants & shops or sit back & view the mountains . Carol & Jim are fantastic host and you will love meeting them. The rooms are private , well appointed, have a separate entrance and bath and plenty of easy parking . We enjoy our stay with them every time!

Experience the best that Black Mountain has to offer from this unique one of a kind experience! This quaint living space is directly above a little food market and cafe and overlooks a beautiful garden and greenhouse. Only steps away from the heart of Black Mountain and a fifteen-minute drive to downtown Asheville, you will have all of your travel needs met. Wake up every morning to be greeted by the beauty of the garden
This is truly a one of a kind AirBnB experience in the area. Come stay with us and explore the beauty of our studio, market, and garden in the heart of Black Mountain! What really makes this place unique is the location and the business. The market is called Half Moon Market formally know as Roots and Fruits market. Being above a market and the looking over a garden, It's a magic place to be. The market is open 5-7 days a week so you will see people around the market area if you choose to. We want people to feel relaxed and comfortable with everything you may need to start the day off right! . The studio is unique based on the colors of the rooms and cozy layout of the floor plan! This space includes a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, bath tub, and bedroom. We like to think this place is perfect for a couple, a solo traveler, and a group of friends who don't mind sharing space. The bedroom is a short walk away from the kitchenette and does not have a closable door for full privacy from guests who are interested in sharing the studio with two or more.
We are located right in the heart of downtown Black Moutain. Easy walk to great restaurants, bars, music, and gift shops.
  • Perfect for relaxing and hanging out in the mountains! It was clean and close to everything in town. I wish I could just live there!

  • Really cute little cabin on top of a market. We got fresh organic eggs, cheese and English muffins in the morning to make breakfast. Cute spot. Cozy. Nice area to explore. And town was very cute and quaint.

    Jennifer2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • My favorite Airbnb so far. Cozy little apartment with personality (and chickens)!

    Taylor2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint, cozy, best fit for fall/ spring as it is an old building and a bit drafty. It is an attic apartment with very low ceilings in many places, so if you’re over 6ft tall you wouldn’t be too cozy. It has a rustic humble mountain vibe. No TV which was a bummer at first but we managed just fine! Clean, quiet and just as described. Loved it!

    Raina2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place

    Christian2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

    Lisa2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the cozy lofted cabin feel with a little flar of 70's decore. It was spotless and great for a weekend away. Can't wait to visit in the spring or summer when the garden is in full bloom!☺

  • Great price, location, and host!

    Miranda2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jody was a great host— communicative and responsive. The place is a great value, just what you would expect for the price. Coffee is a nice touch. Geese can be quite loud, and may bother a light sleeper. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a good value, no frills place to sleep with a hot shower.

  • Cute mountain town! Quiet location with beautiful views.

  • Great inexpensive place to stay right at the foot of Mt. Mitchell! Very close to the center of Black Mountain and a short drive to Asheville!

    Walter2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • You’ve got a bedroom and a bathroom with electricity for less than the price of normal camping! For the price, it can’t be beat. It’s cozy and spacious.

    Elizabeth2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We only stay at Jody’s place for 1 night but it was great. We had a bit of difficulty finding the house address as it was late and dark but other than that it was perfect. We wish we could have stay longer as to enjoy the afternoon views on the mountains. I highly recommended.

Sweet, private apartment in the trees. Large windows all around make you feel like you're sleeping in the treetops. A perfect, quiet, secluded space for couples or solo travelers. Ten minutes from downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, twenty minutes to Black Mountain or the Biltmore Estate, and a stone's throw from Warren Wilson College. There is no wifi or air conditioning. Stop now if you have to have those things!
The Treehouse has lovely hardwood floors, huge windows, a queen bed, a kitchenette stocked with essentials, and a bath featuring handmade tile. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck, surrounded by birds and fresh mountain air.
You will be next door to my house (as you're on the top floor of the garage) and you will also be able to see the neighbor's in winter months house. Otherwise it's woods all around.

  • My friend and I found Ellie’s place on a whim because we planned a super last minute trip and wanted somewhere not too expensive and cute! This place is the real deal. It is so so so precious and pretty! Ellie left us tea and snacks on the bed with a really lovely note, which was so considerate and hospitable. It truly has been our favourite Airbnb that we have stayed in from the beautiful little fairy lit porch to the cows down the road singing along! We wish it was closer so we can go and stay all the time! Thank you Ellie!!

  • Private but still close to everything that beautiful Black Mountain and Asheville has to offer. The home was very cozy and warm. It has a small fenced yard that is perfect for the dog to run around in. The house was near perfect and full of accommodating, convenient and thoughtful touches. We really couldn’t ask for a better house to stay in. If I could I would give it six stars.

Cute small house with a bonus room. There’s two guard cats living in the house. Cats are also in the pictures. Cats names are Ginger and Sophie. Both of which are adorable and precious small animals. I believe that covers everything with my lovely home. Enjoy your stay at my wonderful home!!!
I am never home so you pretty much have the whole house to yourself. I only come in late at night to sleep. House has easy access to hwy 70 and I-40. About 15-20 minutes away from downtown Asheville. About 3-5 minutes away from Black Mountain.
There’s a bigger house right in back of my smaller house
  • Kendrick and the other roommates were great. The only issue I had (which isn't anyone's fault but mine) is if you are a light sleeper be aware that this room is right by the bathroom. So, I got woke up everytime someone went to the bathroom. Take a fan with you (this is what I use to block noise). The visitwas great otherwise. Will stay again.

    Elizabeth2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing fancy here but value is great. Most of all, Kenrick is a true gentleman. He is a super nice guy and the communication was immediate and clear. You're not getting aesthetics with his place but the bed was very comfortable and I slept like a baby both nights. Price is fantastic and you're close to great hiking, great coffee and Asheville is very close. Highly recommended!

    Brian2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • No frills, but everything we needed and an amazing value at the price. Kenrick was extremely friendly and accommodating. A couple of cute kitties made the stay even more enjoyable.

Feel the mountain breeze in this air inspired A-Frame. Atop the ridge, enjoy year-round views of the mountains from the back porch. Hike up Rhododendron Ridge Trail or cozy up by the wood stove with a book. Grill out, start a campfire or listen to the sounds of Bee Tree Creek in the hammock. Nightlife, food, coffee and breweries in Asheville or Black Mountain are 15 minutes away. It's an hour to Great Smokey Mountains National Park!
The space THE STARLING A 14'x14' tiny house with a back porch on a ridge. 250 Square foot tiny home Looking for an alternative place to stay near Asheville? The Starling is a light filled A-Frame constructed atop a ridge, surrounded by beech, birch and maple trees. Because of the slope, the back porch is 10 feet off the ground and you'll feel like you're in a tree house while looking over the Blue Ridge mountains. Light floods The Starling through seven large windows by day, and by night you can enjoy the warmth of candles, a wood stove and twinkle lights. In the summer, leaves cover the canopy, plus there are screens on all of the windows and a fan to keep you cool. Sleeping: Inside, climb up the ladder and you’ll find a full sized mattress that comfortably sleeps two. The Starling can easily sleep a third person on the large 76" window seat made from high quality upholstery foam. Though we don't have more sleeping mattresses, if you have more than 3 people in your party you're more than welcome to bring floor mats and pillows of your own. Cooking: We provide a single butane burner for cooking, kettle, a wood stove, a dining table and clean water for drinking and washing up. The kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, cups, silverware, wine tool, french press, a frying pan, sauce pan and a cooler for your perishables. Outside is a fire pit for outdoor cooking. Showering: The Starling has enough water inside for drinking and cleaning up. We do provide a Pocket Shower and using the rig on the back porch you can shower comfortably. Heat water on the stove or fill the shower up with hot water from the spigot on the outside of our main house and then hang it on the designated line and there ya go. You are outside, so you may want to bring a bathing suit but it's not necessary as the space is very private. Google Pocket Shower online to see examples of this shower. We’ll also have instructions at The Starling. Bathroom: The board and baton outhouse is just down the trail about 50 feet. The outhouse is lit by path lights and we provide a great flashlight so you can move around at night. The outhouse is fully equipped with toilet paper and hand sanitizer for you. Cell phone and internet: The Starling has WIFI and we'll provide the password upon arrival. There is minimal to zero cell phone service but if you have a smart phone or computer you can connect to WiFIi to make phone calls and send texts through the internet. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY The back porch is a perfect place to watch the sunset over the mountains. Start a camp fire in the fire pit and lounge the evening away in the hammock. The Rhododendron Ridge Trail system is always growing and right now you can hike about 15 minutes up to the top of a ridge. We're working on a creek trail now so it might be ready by the time you get here! SURROUNDING AREAS 15 Minutes to the west in Asheville, and the same to the east in Black Mountain, you’ll find top-notch dining, coffee, music, and nightlife. Plus, Pisgah Brewing Company is less than 7 miles away with live musical performances and incredible brews. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forrest, packed with hiking trails, is 10 minutes away, and Great Smokey Mountains National Park is just over an hour away. Charles Owen Park is less than 2 miles away with a playground, baseball field, fishing pond, and hiking trails leading through Warren Wilson College. We’ll provide you with a list of our favorite places to eat, drink and hike in our welcome booklet. Note: The parking space is about 250 feet (5 minute walk) from The Starling. A path leads you up a 50 foot elevation gain from parking to The Starling. If you arrive after dark you’ll need a flashlight (or cell phone) to get up the trail. Guest access Full and private access to The Starling, your own parking spot, outhouse, hammock and your own fire pit. Shared access to hiking trails and Wi-Fi. Other things to note We suggest bringing a headlamp or flashlight for night walks around the property or to the outhouse, but if you forget yours don't worry... we have a great flashlight for you! Dogs are welcome! Please keep in mind that we have a dog as well. We ask that your dogs be friendly with others if you want to allow them to run loose; ours does but usually sticks close to our house and is very friendly. If they don't like other dogs, that's ok! Please just notify us ahead of time and keep your dog on a leash while outside. Please make sure to clean up after your pet. Please properly store all food and waste because the area is frequented by our local black bear and her cubs in the spring and summer. Though a bear attack is very very uncommon, we provide you with a bear horn and information about bear safety. A couple other things... Only put liquids down the sink in The Starling. All solids need to go in the trash. If you use the wood stove please read the instructions carefully so it can be the most efficient for you. The wood shed with the small pieces of wood are meant for the indoor wood stove and the larger logs by the fire pit are for outdoor fires. Thanks so much we look forward to having you stay at our woodland paradise :).
Bee Tree Road is a beautiful rural mountain road in the southern Appalachian mountains. We own about 20 acres of land and we are building a nice trail system through the woods, along the creek, and up the ridge. The Starling is secluded and, from the back porch the only house in sight is 1/2 mile away. Our little driveway is home to us and our best friends, Alex and Christina. We also have another Air BnB on the property called The Roost. Again, if the dates you's like to book in The Starling are not available, check out The Roost as an similar alternative.
  • A great place to stay and get away. Highly recommended.

  • What a dream - Ryan and Alyson’s place is absolutely amazing. It’s tucked back on a hill, perfect for an escape. Everything about this place is well thought out. Perfect for a getaway, can’t wait to return!

  • Ryan welcomed us upon arrival and was so friendly! The pictures don't do The Starling Justice. What a beautiful, serene place; perfect for a relaxing get away.

    Charlene2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Alyson and Ryan’s wooden getaway is absolutely stunning. The picture perfect wood details with the small subtle touches make it feel like home. It’s nestled beautifully in the woods with privacy and convenience. One of AIRBNB’s finest stays!! It is the experience of a lifetime. :)

    Tyler2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was absolutely amazing, the description they have is perfect but it was an even better experience just being there. The interaction face-to-face with the host was wonderful, Ryan and Allison seem like such amazing people. The response through texting was just as fast. Of all air B&Bs I’ve ever stayed in, I do believe I found my favorite place.

    Walker2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Another amazing tiny home by Ryan and Alyson! Can’t recommend their spaces enough. Some of our favorite trips of all time!

This space complies with COVID-19 social distancing protocols. You will have the entire basement to yourself and not have to come in contact with anyone. You will be sent a key code. My husband and I live in the upstairs portion of the house, but basement has it's own entrance and parking away from our vehicles. Our finished basement is very basic but just what a traveler needs seeking a shower and soft and clean place to sleep. Basement isn't in the ground, but rather it is the 1st story of our home. It has two windows and a covered deck/porch. Door to the basement/room is your own private access--no need to go through the main part of the house. This listing isn't anything fancy, but we make it available as a low-priced AirBnB option to travelers who aren't seeking any bells and whistles. This room has a queen bed, couch, desk with chair, mini-fridge and a TV with a Roku to watch your own Netflix or Prime Video. We have keypad-operated deadbolt locks on our entry door for convenience. Our home is in an awesome, scenic, and convenient location: we are a short 15-minute drive from downtown Asheville, 10 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the Biltmore House, 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 5 minutes from Interstate 26. You can't beat this deal!
South slope of Brown Mountain overlooking south Asheville toward Mt. Pisgah, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Pisgah National Forest. Less than five minutes to local restaurants, bars, and shopping. Quiet neighborhood, secluded in forest, tucked away up on the side of a mountain.
  • Amazing place and amazing hosts!

    Daniele2020-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Allison and Peter’s room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. It’s a great location near downtown Asheville that allowed my partner and I to explore the area. Check in and check out were both super easy. Great and fast communication with the hosts. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in Asheville!

    Norma-Jean2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for being a private first floor apartment style place. The bed is comfortable, and the couch is great for reading or relaxing. Coffee maker, hot shower, and quick communication was helpful. The footsteps upstairs were audible, but nothing too disturbing. If I needed to stay there again I would!

    Patrick2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Allison and Peter's place is perfect for a person like me.( "Freelance Photographer") who comes and go on a wee hours . This place is clean, quite and affordable and very close to all the attractions you can think off in Asheville. The room has small refrigerator and microwave which is nice. The private entrance is what i like the most. Parking: if you have problems walking uphill this is not a place for you, but I like the parking situations, you get some exercise at the same time, to me , walking uphill is a plus. Neighborhood: Very quite and safe place. I highly recommend to take a walk around the neighborhood if you have time. Its beautiful , you get to see some wildlife if you walk early in the morning or late at night... I highly recommend this place. GT

Magical Yurt in a magical cove! Next to a musical stream and surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild and beautiful forest, this newly built Yurt is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a meditative and relaxing environment that's not too far from Asheville. The space is very clean and comfortable and is located at the end of the road in one of the most beautiful coves in the region and biodiverse places on earth. People of all colors and backgrounds are warmly welcomed here
*Please keep in mind* - The kitchen is super basic and even though it's covered by a roof, it's exposed to the elements, so will never be a fully spick and span sort of space. Currently, you will not be able to cook anything too fancy. Currently, the is no refrigerator. There is a cooler available, but you will need to provide ice. ** The last bit of road getting to my property can be pretty rough if you're not used to mountain roads. I drive up and down it nearly every day with my Prius, but people do sometimes complain about it :) - The bathroom is in a separate structure so you will have to walk 10 or so feet outside on the deck to get to it. An umbrella is kept in the yurt in case it's raining. -
  • Lovely, cozy space! I really enjoyed listening to the sound of the creek flowing behind the yurt while falling asleep. Surrounded by a magical forest. Alex & his daughter are the sweetest ever. Highly recommend. <3

    Sumaya K.2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This space is the perfect getaway, not far away from the Asheville action!

    Jeb2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cool spot! Felt super comfortable and at peace for a little vacation in the magical yurt. Alexander was quick to respond when out power went out and made sure we were still doing okay once it got real cold outside. Enjoyed the unique space and beautiful decor so much!

    Lauren2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay... we will be back....

    Josh2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice relaxing time in the yurt. Definitely lived up to its potential. It was very relaxing and also Alexander made it that much more inviting and was very down to earth. I would definitely stay again.

    Rachel2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Alexander's Yurt in November and the views around are gorgeous. Mornings were beautiful and you could hear the creek in the background. During this season, it does get chilly even with the heater so be sure bring lots of warm clothes. The drive up to the Yurt is also probably best traveled with a higher power car although I was able to make it up in my 2-wheel drive Sedan. Alexander was a great host; he was so welcoming and accommodating. He offers some of his music and meditation classes as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would love to come back!

    Lauren2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were so sad we didn’t get to stay longer! We got in way later than anticipated and as soon as we saw the inside of the yurt we wished we had booked a longer stay. The area was beautiful as well, as an added bonus. We are going to try to make it to the area again and will definitely book the yurt!

    Eli2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful place to stay. The yurt was so calming and comfortable. It rained most of the time we stayed but we were snug and dry the whole time. Being off the beaten path it was really quiet but we loved it. Hearing the rain on the roof and the sounds of the wind chime outside our window set the perfect soundtrack for a restful weekend away. I would love to go back and stay again.

My cottage is close to Asheville, NC, art and culture, restaurants and dining, great views, family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the location, the people, the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the neighborhood. Treetop Treasure is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, church groups and families.
Come drive into the Mountains of Western North Carolina and enjoy the amazing atmosphere that is tucked away into our little community and yet just 18 minutes from Asheville, NC and surrounded by so many sites and activities that it is absolutely mind blowing!
Our little place in the mountains is tucked into a cove. Our community is unique, in that you drive in and out one way. It is quiet and beautiful. Plenty of deer nibbling on greenery and creeks flowing all over our area.
  • Our family of six had plenty of room for a long stay. This home is the perfect place to make lasting family memories. We enjoyed every moment.

  • This house was fantastic! Very rustic and homey. Beds were so comfortable and the home was well stocked. The location was amazing, close enough to town if you needed anything or wanted to get out but still felt secluded. Beautiful views from the balconies that were perfect for morning coffee! I would highly recommend this home to anyone!

  • Cozy house with lots of character and room to spread out. Perfect for families (we had 4 adults and 4 kids ages 6-14 and had plenty of room). Location to downtown Black Mountain is easy and convenient but you also feel like you're in a little cabin in the woods. Very private. Lots of little touches and courtesies to make you feel right at home. We look forward to going back!

  • This eclectic house has so much personality! The kid loft was great for the little ones. Bunk bed room was cool too. Bathroom spaces were tight but expected for the era when the house was built. Host was available and sent lots and lots of information ahead of our trip so we felt like the informed tourists. The dual decks were especially cool. We’ll stay there again next time we’re in the area!

This cozy studio apartment, with mountain views, is located on the second floor of our green cottage. It has a full kitchen, queen bed (Simmons Beauty Rest-pillow top mattress), and walk in shower. We recently updated the air conditioning/heating with a mini split unit that gives our guests full control of the temperature and humidity. We are located just an easy 10 minute walk to the center of Black Mountain, breweries, restaurants and shops. Easy, moderate & challenging hiking within 2 miles.
The studio apartment is private with a separate entrance.
Restaurants, shops, live music, brew pubs, farmers tailgate market, hiking trails and a 20min drive to downtown Asheville.
  • Karen and Greg are absolutely incredible hosts. I stayed with them for quite a while (even longer than originally planned) and I always felt very welcome and that I could go to them for anything that I needed. The location is wonderful and I was often able to walk into town or to a great park a short stroll away. It was also close enough to the grocery store to walk or ride my bike on a nice day. I highly recommend staying with Karen and Greg if your travels take you to Black Mountain; you definitely will not be disappointed.

    Jeff2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely amazing home! From the moment I got there I felt welcomed. And with everything so close it helps squeeze in more things to do while on vacation. I will only be staying with them from now on.

  • Comfortable bed, full kitchen with modern appliances, and nice towels. We arrived to easy entry and some very tasty cookies, and checkout was a breeze. Wonderful stay in a quiet town with an easy drive to Asheville.

  • For the price I can’t imagine a place better than this apartment, perfect for a couples getaway. Short easy walk to downtown Black Mountain and everything you need if you want to enjoy a meal or two instead of going out. Also located right across the street from a country store, which was a pleasant surprise. Black Mountain was a gem of a town, my wife and I enjoyed it more than Asheville. Karen was quick with every question but also didn’t impede on my wife and myself at all and just let us enjoy ourselves. Thanks for the stay I hope we can make it back someday.

Surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild and beautiful forest, this newly built apartment is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a meditative and relaxing environment that's not too far from Asheville. The space is very clean and colorful with unique custom woodwork and big windows and is located at the end of the road in one of the most beautiful coves in the region and biodiverse places on earth. People of all colors and backgrounds are warmly welcomed here
The studio has high vaulted ceilings that give it a spacious feeling and the floor is hardwood with colorful rugs throughout. The bathroom is tiny but has a claw foot bathtub with a shower attachment, marble tile, and unlimited hot water. In the kitchen you'll find a 2 burner cookstove, a toaster oven, all the basic kitchen stuff you will need to make your meals, and a smallish round table to eat them at. Beautifully crafted walnut, maple, hemlock, and poplar decorate every possible corner of every room, giving the space a very unique and natural elegance.
The nearest neighbors are all young homesteader types with amazing skills and stories, but you wont see or hear them from the property. You will hear lots from the non-human neighbors though. This lush forest is filled with the songs of rare birds, owls, crickets, and treefrogs with the only light pollution coming from the moon, stars, and fireflys.
  • Great spot, very close to downtown Asheville and very clean space. Alex was super helpful and hospitable!

  • This place was everything I was looking for and more! Such a quaint spot nestled in a mountain valley, with so much nature to explore. I truly had a blessed experience with being able to get away from the world and to connect with Mother Nature. The constant sounds of the birds singing, streams flowing and views of the mountains were so soothing as soon as you stepped outside. I definitely recommend this place and the host was very generous and has a wonderful vibe that added even more to the relaxation of the space.

  • This place was so cute, clean, and cozy! I loved the location in the mountains and Alexander was an amazing and responsive host.

  • Alexander is a very friendly and welcoming host. We felt right at home and the apartment is so cozy and cute. The way up felt like a little adventure the first time (to us city folk ;) ). But it was easy after that first trip. We looked forward every afternoon to returning to our little house. We enjoyed the extreme quiet, the birds, the trees and the rain at night. The cats that came to say hello and stayed for some attention. It’s just a very sweet place to slow down and enjoy. The bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is perfect - warm shower and everything’s there. The place is perfectly clean and you can make some dinner and breakfast in the kitchen. You can sit outside and enjoy the weather, the trees and the birds - both at the front and back! Asheville was a nice place to visit, we felt very welcome. And there are also plenty of walks to do in the area. We can only recommend you stay here!

    Katja2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Alex has a terrific place out in the country, I definitely recommend it if you are looking for something tranquil!

  • This place is awesome. It’s a place where you don’t really want to be in the city but you’re still able to have access to it whenever you want! Asheville was just a 20 minute drive and this place was very clean, quiet, and in an amazing location. The style of the room was also pretty amazing, very homey and definitely a place where you should stay if you want to get away for a bit.

Cozy Arts and Crafts home. Walk to historic Black Mountain on the nearby greenway trail. Tour the largest Community Garden in WNC a five minute walk away. Hike the 1100 acre YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly mountain ridge behind our home. Our home was built in 1937 and follows the standard Arts and Crafts model straight out of design books. The home still has the original hardwood floors. As a guest in our home, you are welcome to retreat to your room or share communal space with us at the dining table, make a meal in our kitchen, or join us on the couch for games or a movie if we all feel so inclined. We have two full bathrooms. The main bathroom is also used by our children. While staying with us you will have first priority, but note that there is not a private bath included in your stay. Although we are a busy family, we love visiting with guests and sharing meals and stories when our schedules allow. We are equally adept at giving folks privacy or engaging you in life. We live in one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. In one day just two miles in either direction from our home, you can be alone on top of a mountain by day, and dancing tango to a live orchestra (or enjoying a similarly amazing live performance) by night at our lovely local music venue, The White Horse. Black Mountain is host to many fantastic restaurants, four retreat centers with excellent hiking trails, a network of greenway trails, and farms and community gardens worth visiting. In the summertime, we can direct you to our favorite local swimming holes and waterfalls. You can hop on the Asheville Rapid Transit bus to get into Asheville, just 20 minutes away. Otherwise, Black Mountain is accessible by bike or walking. We have a large, friendly dog. If you don't shut the door to your room tight, he may wake you before your alarm clock.
  • Don’t miss an opportunity to stay in the area with Diana’s family. She’s a great host, the bed was comfy and we had everything we needed. My daughter and I loved exploring the area - hiking, independent shops, great food, easy to get around town. Black Mountain has so much to offer and we also made a trip to Asheville. Thank you!

  • I came expecting a room in a house, I left having experienced a wonderful family, a calm and welcoming room, and a beautiful, clean home. The bedroom is larger than I expected, absolutely immaculate, and wonderfully calming. Sharing the small bathroom was easy and was just steps away. They were kind enough to let me bring my large dog (Lab) and she got along great with their puffy white gentleman, Iorek. Diana gave great suggestions about local activities and was generous with her time. A great experience overall!

    Kate2020-03-12T00:00:00Z

  • Staying at the Yoga Sanctuary had a familial warmth. I felt totally supported by the space while I was doing some deep work that weekend. A lot of uplifting bright energy in that home!

  • Diana and Brett are incredibly thoughtful, kind hosts and have created such a lovely, peaceful space. They are in an amazing location - their town is so sweet and has fantastic hiking spots, delicious bakeries/restaurants/coffee (definitely get their recommendations for these!), live music and other events so you don't even have to go into Asheville for things to do, but Asheville is still only 20 minutes away. The space is extremely comfortable - I slept so well in the cozy bed and enjoyed a shower in the bathroom with a heated floor. Communication and self check-in with Diana could not have been easier. I really enjoyed my stay here and would love to stay here again next time I make it to this area!

  • Cozy & inviting. Our only regret is not getting to stay longer.

  • Cute little separated cottage - we fit two people comfortably in the bed, and the single pull-out couch was nice as well. The stove and oven was really useful as well as the fridge, and had no problems with the wifi or hot water! Overall, a really great stay!

  • Garden cottage in a great mountain town. Comfy and private.

  • We stayed at Jaci's for a couple of nights and it was the most amazing experience! The cottage is beautiful and the location couldn't be better. But the biggest thing we loved about it was all the trees, climbers, vines, and plants Jaci has maintained around the place. It gives the place an a very unique and refreshing vibe. We didn't get a chance to interact too much with Jaci because of how short our stay was, but from the limited interaction we did have, Jaci came across as a very helpful, warm, and easy going person. Definitely will try and stay with Jaci the next time we're looking to go back to the area!

Our old house, said to have been built in 1910, is located 'round the corner from Black Mountain's Cherry Street and looked down upon by majestic mountains to the south. This ridgeline is visible from your room's front window. Summers we have lots of dahlias, zinnias and other flowers, as well as a few veggies, growing in our front yard garden and there are many books and magazines, satellite tv, wireless internet and other inducements inside. We're retired from having operated a physical therapy practice here in this house for 17 years. We both like to take long walks on a nearby trail we'll point out, ride bikes, and just get around these mountains. Your upstairs room is spacious, the bed queen-sized and canopied. Your private bath has a roomy shower. We adore our town and this lovely region and have lots of information to share about the Appalachians and interesting Asheville just a few miles west of us. We have plenty of parking and I-40 is a half mile from our house. There's a bus that runs into and out of Asheville at intervals. Reasonably priced professional therapeutic massage is available on the premises.
We love our neighborhood. It's eclectic, to say the least--all sizes and shapes of houses—and some businesses. We are less than 3 blocks from downtown, an easy and safe walk, day or night. We walk here a lot and guess what, we're the litter picker-uppers of the neighborhood and adjacent trails, each handling a bag for litter as well as a dog's leash. We know most of our neighbors. We have never had a complaint about the comings and goings of our Airbnb guests. Come check out us and our neighborhood.
  • I was traveling to Nashville, TN and had a short, but very pleasant stay. The room & private bath were excellent. The hosts were very pleasant and friendly. I hope to stay again.

  • Very comfortable! As much privacy or interaction with your hosts as you would like. They are delightful. We had Valentine’s dinner at the Foothills a block away. Fabulous! Great value for a stay in the Asheville area or for Warren Wilson parents.

  • Carol & Jim were such nice hosts & a pleasure to meet. They were helpful with local suggestions and the room upstairs allowed privacy if we wanted it. They are fun & interesting hosts & the home they share is clean & located walking distance from downtown. We highly recommend them!

  • We had a great stay at Jim and Carol’s place. They were out of town but we were warmly welcomed by Brad. The place was above expectations: bed super comfortable, nice private bathroom, great area with lots of little shops and restaurants. Overall, a super nice stay!

  • Jim and Carol’s home was clean, quaint, and wonderful. Just a short walk to the heart of Black Mountain and some of our favorite places to eat and drink. I hope we can stay with them again!
