Old Cruck Frame house with eco converted barn. During the coronavirus we ensure the place is wiped with surgical spirt prior to your arrival, we will leave the key for you and keep a distance to ensure none transmission of the virus. Wonderful view of the Tanat Valley from the glassed first-floor studio. This is the end part of an old farmhouse. Powered by the sun and an eco pellet burner.
Beautiful oak timber frame with solid oak flooring, built by local artisans. Features include steam-bent ash, oak and elm spiral staircase, Elm kitchen worktops. Lay in bed admiring the beautiful Tanat valley bellow, this is one of the best views in the area. We have central heating but the upstairs is glass so you will need to light a wood fire in winter. You are welcome to bring your own wood but we can supply you at £5 a bag.
Penylan is secluded and quiet however it is only a five-minute walk to the village, follow the footpath across the fields. Pystyll Rhaedr, the highest waterfall in Wales and one of its seven wonders is just 4 miles up the valley. Lake Vyrnwy is a short drive, and yet we are close to main routes to Merseyside and the Midlands. Llanrhaeadr has two Pubs, a chippy, Indian Restaurant and late opening shops, Dragons craft shop and a new vintage furniture shop. There are many good places to eat in the area. We are 5 miles from Revolution Bike Park, 30 miles from Arthurs Labyrinth and Bounce. also on the slopes of The Berwyn Mountains.

  • Cute and cosy property. We really enjoyed our stay. Great rural location with amazing views. Walking distance to the village which has two pubs ( only one serves food) , an Indian take away, a Spar and a fantastic butchers. Lake Vernwy and Pistyll Rhaeadr both less then half an hours drive away. Both well worth visit

  • We absolutely loved our stay, this place is full of character I would recommend it to anyone.

    Rita2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely gorgeous cottage, perfect for couples and large groups. We'd 100% come and stay again in the summer

    William2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • A terrific little getaway with beautiful views, not far from the village and the impressive Pystill Falls (highest in Wales). The cottage is spacious and quirkily designed- a very relaxing stay.

    Peter2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Even with relentless October rain we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. That view! Peace and quiet with the odd pheasant for company. Remote location without actually being that remote! Short walk to the village for pub, excellent indian takeaway, few minutes drive from the best waterfall I have ever seen. Plenty of pillows and blankets and cooking pots and plates etc. Wood burner to get cosy. You can find the village by sat nav and then find the house with the directions provided. If you want a bit of rural down time in a place that feels homely, I don’t think you’ll get much better.

Overlooking fields with Welsh mountain sheep quietly grazing in front of the Berwyn mountains, cozy cabin offers sanctuary & rest in a countryside location. Well behaved pets welcome. Small kitchen/eating area joins living room, shower room, double bedroom, parking space.
Warm log cabin with double room, kitchen/eating area, large shower room, TV, outside covered veranda with seating and table. Parking space. Lovely hill walking location with rarely trod paths. Please note this is a farming area so sheep, cows and horses and dogs all live and work within the area. Owls also hoot at night in the woods. It is dark here in winter as there are no streetlights - advantage if you are star gazing, but you will need a torch if you are going for a walk
Beautiful walking, riding, cycling country. Set in the rarely walked Berwyn mountains. The longest waterfall in Wales. Close to snowdonia national park. Both beautiful lakes Vyrnwy and Bala are a close drive with walking, water sports and good cafés and restaurants. Close to Chester and Shrewsbury with lovely old buildings, theatre, races and shopping. Nearest town is the quaint border town of Oswestry with Iron Age fort, some fantastic eateries and independent shops. Wonderful bridle ways locally and many tracks suitable for mountain biking as well as walkers and riders.
  • Warm and cozy in stunning location Everything you need under one roof.

  • Sweet and a real escape from every day life

    Amanda2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely cosy cabin and completely private. Very quiet, peaceful area and nice extra touches. Visit to local waterfall well worth it. Was raining our whole stay and high winds due to storm Dennis but was nice and warm inside and still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Was an added bonus that there is a secure outside patio area where you can let the dogs out without having to worry about putting them on a lead. Thanks again will definately recommend to family and friends.

  • A lovely location and great cabin for a quiet getaway. Fantastically placed for walks/hikes in the Welsh countryside. Very warm and cosy cabin with everything you'd need for a weekend away. Easy to find just off the main road, plenty of parking and private, quiet access.

  • Cosy Christmas Cabin in the Clouds We had a very enjoyable stay in the cabin for 5 nights over Christmas. It was cosy (heaters and extra blankets, although not needed as the cabin keeps the heat in), very clean, with everything we needed to cook, relax in the living space, with a comfy bed and the large, hot shower was great too. Local maps and tourist leaflets helped us plan our days exploring due to the lack of WiFi, and we enjoyed the freedom of being cut off. We arrived late on Christmas Eve, directions and check-in all straightforward. Gwennan had decorated the cabin and left us some homemade mince pies as a warm welcome. They also dropped by to make sure we had everything we needed during the stay which was appreciated. Local highlights were the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall and walking to the top across to the ridge above the lake, stunning views, we also had a good walk around Lake Vyrnwy in the mist on the opposite bank to the tower. We ate at The Hand at Llanarmon and highly recommended, roaring fires, quality food and the owners were very friendly. Our only watch outs were - flip the hot water switch, we missed it arriving late on the first night, and beware of stubbing toes on the door frame to the bedroom, we both learnt fast! Great location and one of our best air bnb stays, we’d love to come back in the summer for longer days to explore the area more.

    Debs2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay here. Really cosy and warm cabin for December, in a beautiful location. Gwennan was a great host, with really easy communication and check in.

The hut is a beautiful, self contained and fully equipped Shepherds Hut with the most amazing 270' mountain view. We are nestled in the mountainside below a forest, with a private drive, 1 km from the village surrounded by springs and fields, offering a wonderful sense of space and relaxation. Pistyll Rhayader, great for walkers or just chilling. please don't expect the Ritz. its glamping with a twist. as we are rural so expect a rural location
Photos don't do the views justice (we are told by everyone!)..... there is a fabulous sense of space and calm that allows you to be in the peace of the moment..... even in the Welsh weather! The hut is set above a 3 acre field which is available for your use and 25 metres from a 4 bedroom house and a barn.
Lovely little village, pub serves evening meals (Please check) and is good quality and reasonably priced. Village store and post office has limited opening times but cash is available from the post office
  • 5* Cosy, beautifully laid out, fantastic view, friendly hosts.

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepard’s hut was brilliant and had everything we needed for our weekend away. It was cosy and clean and was located in a lovely area with the pub only a 10 mins walk away! The instructions on how to get there were really easy to follow and we had no problems with finding it. We also went to pistyll rhaeadr waterfall which was super close and we would recommend it as it was beautiful!

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Natalie and Ric's hut! They were fantastic hosts and were so accommodating for our dog Poppy! The area was stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed our walk around Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall. We would recommend their place to all our friends.

    Freddie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Ric were such lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome whilst also leaving us to it. The cabin is amazing, very clean and has everything you need with some lovely extra touches. The views were incredible and we had the best time, highly recommend!

    Liv2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay with thoughtful hosts. Stunning views, thoughtful space with everything you need for a break away! It rained for us & Natalie advised boots which were needed, but the hut was unique and quirky, sparkling clean, and the welcome as warm as the hosts! Definite recommend and would advise anyone to book soon!

Set just over two miles from Pistyll Rhaeadr, one of the seven wonders of North Wales with excellent opportunities for walking and cycling within the Berwyn Mountains. The nearby village of Llanrhaeadr YM is a busy centre containing shops and two pubs. The old chapel itself can sleep five. There is a cot available and a high chair. Situated on the lane up to the waterfall, which is a dead end. The property containing the old chapel is called Tawelfan, which translates as 'quiet place'.
The whole of the chapel has been renovated and equipped with all new appliances. There are four single divan beds that can be zipped together to make varies alternatives. There is also a bunk bed style fifth bed, which although ideal for a child, will and has slept an adult. There is lounge seating and main table seating for six people. There is a barbecue area on the decking with table and chairs to seat six. There is also a cot available and a high chair. The chapel has oil fired heating and hot water. There is also a log burner in the lounge for that extra cosy feel. We supply enough logs etc for two/three nights, after that logs can be purchased locally. All towels and bed linen is provided
From the chapel you can walk to the waterfall and beyond into the Berwyn Mountains. There are many walks in the area and none better than down the lane to Llanrhaeadr village. The area is ideal for those wanting to enjoy the wilds of Wales without the crowds. We are lucky to have many species of birds that nest in the area, in particular, Bullfinches, Goldfinches, Spotted Flycatchers, Chiffchaffs, Green Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, and Grey Wagtails to name a few. Possibly the best part is that if you wish you can escape completely, enjoy the garden, perhaps walk to the waterfall, walk to the village, have a week without a vehicle.
  • Lovely converted chapel, ideal for country walks, the waterfall and nearby village. Perfect little touches and our host Paul reminded me of Billy Connolly, windswept and interesting! Paul couldn’t have be more hospitable and helpful. Will stay again.

  • A wonderful gem of a place ideally located for some wonderful walking and seeing the sites. A real charming homely cozy place to come back to after a days exploring with piles of maps to pour over whilst warming yourself with a hot chocolate to plan your next day

    Eric2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and cosy place. Informative and friendly host. The waterfall nearby is stunning.

    Jordan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful valley next to a river. Very peaceful and quiet setting. The chapel was a perfect size for us (3 adults), and the kitchen and cottage was well equipped. We were greeted with eggs, cheese, milk and some delicious home made bread on arrival! The location is perfect for walking, and the chapel contains many maps and walking routes, including walks to the nearby waterfall which is one of the best in the UK. Paul was a great host and was just next door if we needed anything (although in our case there were no problems). Thank you Paul for a lovely stay.

    Robin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was great...

    Timothy2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were thrilled to spend 4 nights at Paul’s place - the old stone Chapel. The space was cozy and warm and ample room for the 4 of us. Everything was to a high standard and very clean. The location is great - especially if you like taking walks through the countryside. The waterfall at the end of the lane is worth a visit. Make sure you take cash to use at the waterfall cafe in case the card machine is broken. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

Magical mountain retreat for two (& small child if needed) not far from the beautiful Lake Vyrnwy. Enjoy the breathtaking mountain view, 15 miles to the Berwyn mountain range & lovely fresh air. Great place to relax, unwind, eat & drink or explore a myriad of bike trails, walks, waterfalls, lakes & outward bound activities on the doorstep. Sleeps 2. Elvish is spoken here… The Treehouse is tucked away at the top of the garden, a quirky little hideaway for a couple. It has its own parking space a few yards away. Inside, on the left, is a coat rail, then up 3 steps you find yourself in the bedroom, with double bed and wardrobe behind the curtain – this however also has a mattress so the space can be used for a child’s bed (just 4ft long). it is NOT suitable for a crawling baby or inquisitive toddler. There is also an extra hanger for long clothes – generally used for evening/wedding wear, plus under-bed storage. The Treehouse is heated very well by a Dimplex radiator, and in the wet room, an infrared wall heater. There is also a stone hot water bottle if one wishes to revisit the past. The tiny kitchen has a 2-gas hob, microwave, Dualit small oven, fridge, single sink and draining board, and cupboards below with appropriate cookware and crockery. Drawer above for cutlery, and hanging rack containing batterie de cuisine – scissors, tongs, whisk, spatula etc. etc. The dining area has a table for 2, whilst down 2 steps is the wet room, with shower, washbasin and toilet. The back door opens out to a little patio, known as the “rust garden” with its collection of sculptures created from the agricultural throw-outs lovingly collected or dug up from the surrounding fields, reminders of when Foel Ortho was a working farm. A garden table and 2 folding chairs get the afternoon sunshine, or one can sit on the bench in the covered area and admire the pouring rain!
You can do all these activities locally: Walk, Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Climb, Sail, Open water swim, Orienteering, Fish, Horse Ride, Ride On Steam Trains, Canoe, Row, Bird Watch, White Water Raft, Surf, High Wire Adventure, Zip Line, Raft Build, Gorge Walk, Kayak, Abseil, Clay Pigeon Shoot, Archery, Golf, Health Spa, Game Shooting, Race Hovercrafts, Race 4 x 4, Quad Bike, Go Karting, Roller Coaster, Shop. After a day of adventures there are some great pubs and restaurants in the local area to recharge. Search Farmhouseinwales for all details.
  • If your like you privacy and a break from the huddle and bustle look no further! Unique setting in the middle of the valley, I mean a Tree House... where can you find that sort of accommodation anywhere ?! Wonderfully warm and cosey inside had great night’s sleep and a fantastic stay all together. Kind regards E & S

    Eno2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was a fantastic place for a weekend getaway, and the suprise snow halfway through our stay made it feel magical. The bed was very comfortable and the space was just big enough for two people to comfortably 'live' In. The only 2 things I would like to mention, is that the bathroom was extremely cold. The shower temperature was lovely, but outside of that, it was very chilly any time you went in there (fluffy socks advised!). The second is that we were told there was WiFi there, but that it may run out with excessive use. When we arrived, it seemed that whoever had stayed before us had already used up all of the internet, and although this wasn't a big issue for us as we weren't planning on using the WiFi, it meant that we couldn't contact the hosts (or anyone) in an emergency, as there was also no 4G or phone service. Other than that, we had a lovely time and really recommend the treehouse If you're looking for a cosy break from a busy life.

  • The perfect little hideaway for a weekend in Wales. Had everything we needed, and was a warm and cosy place to hide from Storm Dennis! Would recommend to everyone and will definitely return in the future.

  • I loved staying at Jenny and Eddie's Treehouse, they are the loveliest couple and seriously hospitable and wonderful people. The space is a fantastic, fantastical achievement and a wonderful creative wonderland. The Treehouse suited me perfectly, but it was a little cold. It is rustic, which I loved, but may not suit those wanting pristine or modern comforts. It is otherwordly and very clever, the way the space is used is genius. It had everything I needed including a very comfy bed and wondrous view! The magic is REAL! Thank you.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with deep regret and sadness we have had to take the decision today 17 March to take no further bookings to protect our own health and to do our bit to limit the spread of the disease until there are changes to the situation. We will review this decision at the end of May and post any changes. We thank all of our guests for their understanding and wish them all well in these challenging times.
The property has a large car park and shared sitting areas including an orchard with lovely waterfall and pond. Inside the cottage, the cosy living area with wood-burning stove is open-plan with kitchen and dining areas and access to a large decked veranda and enclosed private garden overlooking the beautiful Tanat valley. The private rear outside space includes an exclusive Hot-Tub (freshly-filled for you and heated throughout your stay at a small extra cost of £40-£60 depending upon the length of your stay payable on arrival) gas BBQ, wood-burning fire-pit, alfresco dining area and comfortable seating for relaxing and enjoying our fabulous views. Also on the ground floor of the cottage is the double bedroom and modern shower room with stairs leading to the mezzanine bedroom with twin beds and a feature barn-slot window as well as velux windows to admire the view over the Berwyns.
Bellevue is set in a rural area approx 1.5 miles from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant with its pretty shops and local pubs. Famous Pistyll Rhaeadr is close by and a lovely scenic drive of 14 miles to Bala with its water sports. 5 miles away is Llangynog with Revolution bike park for downhill biking enthusiasts.
  • Very cosy and well appointed. Amazing views over the valley from the hot tub and close to outstanding countryside. Nice log burner with wood supplied for a small additional cost. Would highly recommend a stay here.

  • We absolutely loved the house and Janet was an exceptional host. The view is amazing, the hot tub is so comfortable and the location close to the shops. The local village is cute and people were very friendly. The butcher there offers the best tasting meat. We highly recommend!

  • Wow Wow Wow! Jan & Rich are the best, the girlfriend and I were looking for a romantic stay away for her birthday/valentines and we found it. With views to die for and a hot tub to shake the crispy cold winds was phenomenal. A birthday weekend away well spent at Belle Vue. If you don’t mind a bit of a splash we’d recommend the waterfall just a few mile down the road. A stunning waterfall named as one of the 7 wonders of Wales was a fantastic opportunity to get out and see the local area (not too bad place either for the instagram lovers. Photos were amazing). We just really want to say thank you once again to Jan & Rich we had the weekend of our dreams and we can’t wait to book back in again. Jack & Abi

  • As soon as we arrived at Bellvue Cottage, we were warmly welcomed by Jan and Rich. They gave us a quick tour of the cottage and have thought of the smallest details to make the stay perfect. The hot tub is amazing for the location you are in, looking out over the Welsh hills, and the log burner also gives the cottage a nice, cosy feeling (wood and fire starters are also provided for by the hosts). Would highly recommend this stay if you want a nice few days away from the hustle and bustle and want a relaxing break away!

This is a peaceful location. A place for people who want to escape the rat race and step off the threadmill of life..... there are country pubs within a 2.5 mile radius. There is a chippy and an Indian Restaurant /takeaway 6 min drive . There is lots of outdoor activities on your doorstep. If you love the countryside you will love this hidden gem of a location. Great for cyclists, walkers, dogs, those who love outdoor pursuits and then snuggling in for the evening in front of a blazing fire or hot tub and enjoying the company of friends and family. Please advise if you would like details of any of following : pony trekking, personal yoga experience, massage therapist to come to the cottage . White water rafting , beach, open farm, ironworks, NT sites, bike hire, zip wire, Revolution bike park etc........ in this part of wales your pretty much less than hour from everywhere and anything you would like to do. You would need 2/3 weeks to see it all but we are here to help you get the most from your break. It’s a laid back location. Excellent for family and friends who want to spent quality time together and make memories. Fabulous for dogs who need space as on your average walk 1.5 hours you won’t see anyone - people or dogs.
  • Fantastic cottage. The Phillips / Schofield family highly recommended a visit. The cottage is perfect for any occasion. Everyone fell in love with this cottage & our 2 dogs enjoyed the freedom of running around the secure gardens. We plan on returning very soon. Thankyou Donna xx

  • Expect stunning views of Wales. Perfect for getting away from it all. Relax in the hot tub or sit in the conservatory bird watching. Clean and tidy plenty of sleeping space for large family groups.

  • This was an amazing place to stay as a family. The cottage is gorgeous and so well equipped. It is warm and cozy but with space to spread out if required. The location is great with beautiful views all round and easy to get to places of interest. The hot tub was fabulous and the host were very helpful and responsive if we needed to contact them. The dogs were catered for too with their own shower . Overall this is a great place for families or groups to stay

  • Well what a hidden gem! We stumbled across it on here and are so glad we did! It was a family weekend away and there was so much space we could have fitted more people in. Donna and her husband were so helpful and as we were caught in Storm Ciara helped us out with local knowledge and bringing us extra firewood. The photos don’t do this place justice but that’s a good thing as everyone loves surprises! If you’re debating between this house and another let me make this decision easy for you... pick Tai Bach!!

  • Arrived for a long weekend, to a lovely log fire in the kitchen, so cozy. The cottage is amazing, perfect for our party of 6 adults, 3 children and 3 fur babies. More than enough room for us to sit together or to go off into smaller groups. We loved the hot tub, especially the younger members, loads of indoor and outdoor space. Donna and Andy have thought of everything that you might need, all the things that you forget are there for your convenience, games to play, books to read. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds with nice bedding. Beautiful, interesting cottage, surrounded by gorgeous countryside. We had the most lovely time and none of us wanted to leave. Thank you once again to our hosts.

  • Quiet rural location. Well equipped, warm and inviting cottage. Hot tub and barbecue area are fantastic additions.

    Matt2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here with 5 adults and 4 children over a long weekend and loved the cottage. We felt it was even nicer than the pictures show and were surprised with how much space there was. Every bedroom was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We made several meals at the cottage and the kitchen provided all we needed, except a pizza cutter and a whisk, but there was truly enough there to work it all out! We came in the winter, but would love to come again in the warmer season to spend more time outdoors because it is a gorgeous area. Would highly recommend this cottage!

    Tia2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage, very spacious, the amenities are spot on and the location is stunning, very remote. The hot tub was a huge bonus. Definitely recommend.

    Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Wales, United Kingdom

Ty Draw is just outside the picturesque village of Llanrhaeadr-Y-Mochnant, home of the tallest waterfall in the UK (240ft) Pistyll Rhaeadr. Our house is great for dinner parties, and has a kitchen diner that can seat ten with ease. We welcome kids, and have a travel cot & high chair. Well behaved clean pets welcome (not on the furniture though please)
Ty Draw stands in 5 acres of its own land, some of these fields may have livestock grazing when you visit, so please be careful with any pets. There are many good walks starting right from the house, with a footpath passing through the grounds. Besides this, there is the waterfall just under 4 miles away, which has some great walks. Further afield there is the Revolution bike park Wales for serious riders, Lake Vernwy, Bala Lake and Llangollen all within 45 minutes drive. Regarding the hot tub in the one picture, we dont own this ourselves, it is rented. If you wish to hire one, please ask and we may be able to arrange it from a local company. Prices will vary depending on season and length of stay.
The house it situated in 5 acres of its own land and is fairly secluded being around a one and a half miles outside of Llanrhaeadr Y Mochnant - the closest village. Llanrhaeadr has several shops, three pubs - two of which serve food. Also a very good chip shop. The next closest town is Llanfyllin which has a wider range of shops and eateries. The butchers in Llanrhaeadr is excellent, their bacon and home made black pudding being particularly outstanding, this is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
  • Stayed for a family get together. Lovely dog friendly property. Would highly recommend if you are looking for similar, with a place for a large-ish group to share. The kitchen is huge and ideal size for family or friends to relax, prepare and dine as group. Many great places on doorstep to explore with local information provided. Great communication leading up to the stay and during. Clean and tidy as expected. Everything just as detailed. We would without a doubt stay here again if ever planning to revisit the area.

    Stephen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place super clean and equipt with amenities. Had a few small issues due to the storm (which couldn't be helped) and it was sorted asap! Fast responses and lovely hosts.

  • This is the second time we have stayed at this house and both times it has been brilliant. It is a perfect place to stay for a weekend trip to Revolution Bike Park with a group of us.

    Andrew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous place! The pictures on airbnb don’t do any justice to this place. The place was clean, very cozy and fabulous location. I really liked the location because it’s in a quite countryside, as we live in an urban area, it was great to have a break from there. The place has a huge kitchen and a big table. The hole house holds very comfortably 8 people. Everyone from our party was very happy about the house.

    Zhanna2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful large farm house, perfect for a family/friends to get away from it all.... Highly recommend Pistyl waterfall.... Already looking to book another trip

    Jessica2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning place. House is very lovely, warm and comfortable. Owners are responding lightning fast and are giving you all the details you may need. The house is kids friendly which was a very nice surprise to us. 👍🏻

    Arthur2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful house in a beautiful spot! Loved the way the house was really traditional but with all modern tech to keep you entertained. The host has thought about every aspect of providing an amazing getaway, everything about the house was top quality, The house was immaculate and had the comfiest beds we’ve ever slept in. The house also had a lovely feeling about it. We look forward to staying at this property again in the future.

    Jay2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ty Draw is a farmhouse nestled in a beautiful valley where the sky is never the same two days in a row. It’s remote but it’s worth it because you’ll be treated to amazing walks (but prepare yourself as this region is all about the hills!). The house itself is cosy and clean. The wood burning stove is a highlight as is the aga. We loved cooking in the kitchen which was well equipped and had a table large enough for our big group. Milo was amazing We had a little trouble getting started with the heating and he was out at the property in a flash, even though it was over the Christmas holidays. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a break filled with fresh air in the day and quiet evenings round the fire.

My place is close to: Excellent local shops and pubs Wales' highest waterfall Pistyll Rhaeadr Lake Vyrnwy Berwyn Mountains Beautiful countryside Walks Mountain biking Stately homes Steam railways You’ll love my place because of the village atmosphere, beautiful scenery, excellent local shops and pubs within walking distance. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
The house was built in 1834 as a farm workers cottage and is Grade 2 listed. it is built of Welsh stone with a Welsh slate roof. It is a small, cosy cottage in the heart of the village. There is ample parking in the car park opposite. Whilst the cottage is small it is fully equipped with a microwave, full oven, fridge with ice box, 4 electric rings, TV, DVD and Blu Ray player,iPod dock, iron and hairdryer. Heating is by woodburning stove and electric panel heating. Please note that due to the location TV and mobile reception is poor. Our raised patio garden has a seating area with views over the rooftops to the hills. It is accessed by some steep steps and has unfenced drops.
Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant is a beautiful village in the Welsh countryside. It is a vibrant community with local shops (grocery, newsagent and butcher), pubs, hair and beauty salon. The highest waterfall in Wales, Pistyll Rhaeadr, is about 4 miles outside the village and has a car park (paid) and cafe at the bottom. There are walks from the top of the waterfall and the views are amazing. There are lovely walks and mountain biking opportunities all around the area. Horseriding and quad bike tours are also available in the area. We are also within an hour of a couple of National Trust properties. For larger shops (Sainsbury's, M&S food, Boots etc) Oswestry is about 20 minutes drive away.
  • Had an amazing time at Julie's cottage. Cosy and warm. Lovely to hear the locals speak Welsh! They made our stay very welcome. Managed to spot some wildlife too like badgers, hedgehogs, welsh mountain goats and pheasants.

  • Lovely tranquil retreat on the Shropshire/ north wales border. Perfect for lazy days and long walks. Beth was very welcoming and friendly with lots of useful tips on walks and nearby attractions.

    Nicole2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy quiet place with everything you could need for a break being well equipped and clean. Beth met us as we arrived and showed us around. Added bonus is the outstanding view across the valley.

    Kathleen2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A well situated, cosy and private cabin surrounded by expansive valley views stretching from eye to eye, peaceful farm animals and a proper log fire to snuggle up against in the evenings! Lovely hosts who are in close proximity will make sure you are happy and leave you to settle in which was ideal for our Xmas get away. Most places were closed due to it being Xmas however, we visited zipworld and the slate caverns which is about one hour away amongst Snowdonia, we would highly recommend it even just for their cavern aged cheese. Also make sure to check out Pistyll Rhaeadr, just 4 miles away you'll find a beautiful view both below and above the waterfall (a short hike up the marked path). Next time we plan to do more hiking, visiting of the famous fortresses/castles/other local natural landmarks, outdoor climbing (there are so many crags at arms reach) and motorcycling around snowdonia, the routes to and from the National park are full of interesting and challenging roads paired with plenty of quaint villages to visit en route. We had a great time overall and would highly recommend Beths Retreat!

    Jack2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful, the pictures don’t do it justice. Waking up to those views, even on a rainy December day was spectacular. The cinema room and log fire were our highlights, as well as the really warm welcome and homemade cake we received when we arrived.

    Lindsay2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay!! 100% recommended. Arrived to cake and fresh eggs for us! Beth is very welcoming and had everything covered! Can’t wait to return next time we visit the BikePark.

    Mitch2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • It really is a retreat, tucked away down a country road we really got a feel for the peace and quiet we were hoping for! The pictures do not do this place justice at all and even the views are amazing. Everything felt so cosy and homely including our warm welcome from Beth!

Stunning location above the village of Llangynog, overlooking the "gateway" to the Berwyn Mountians. The cabin at Penybryn is situated in the garden next to our cottage. It has all mod cons, and comfortably sleeps 2 people. It is the perfect peaceful spot to ,read, write or paint, or to go walking or cycling. After a busy day exploring you can watch the sun go down over the "Gribbin" with a drink, and enjoy a comfortable nights sleep. In the morning you can have breakfast in bed with views!
The cabin has beautiful views over the valley. The bed is really comfy and there is the option of using the sofa bed for more than two guests. The kitchen and dining area has everything you need to make yourself simple meals, or you can walk down to the local pubs for dinner. Tea, Coffee, Milk and Sugar is provided for you. The cabin is self contained and has it's own WC and electric shower. There is also a TV and HiFi system, (some CD's are in the cabin, but there is also a blue tooth receiver that works with phones etc). Our new Studio Cabin is built and ready to use should you wish to get creative while you are with us. It can be rented for an additional fee while you are with us to use yourself, or Stella can run workshops in Pastels, Watercolour, Pen and Ink or Acrylics. Stella is a qualified Aromatherapist and can offer treatments while you visit, which can done in the cabin for an additional fee. These include Full Body Massages, Thai Foot Massage and Indian Head Massage. Penybryn is the highest dwelling on Craig Rhiwarth and the cabin gives you the Alpine experience without having to leave the UK!
The Tanat Valley has beautiful scenery. It is just 2 hours away from Birmingham or Liverpool areas. We are close to Lake Vrynwy, Pistyll Rhaeadr is nearby, you can walk to it over the mountain. The coast area of Barmouth is about 90 minutes away. Snowdon is about 90 minutes away as well. There are two lovely pubs in the village which offer food and entertainment, and other pubs and restaurants just a short drive away. The village also has a famous Bike park and Motorcross experience. We are located at the "gateway to the Berwyns" and there are lots of scenic walks to be had around the valley.
  • Fantastic location and cabin. A little gem in the heart of Wales. Stella helped us settle in very quickly and provided us some great information on the local area.

    Mark2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place & in a lovely little spot. Perfect getaway with lots to do / see. The cabin is warm enough & has everything you could require for a couple of nights stay! Just what we were looking for.

  • Had a fantastic weekend break away, the place has was amazing and easy to find. The place was spotless and had all your necessity’s for a great stay. Would love too go back again in the summer too take advantage of the breath taking views. Stella was a fantastic host with great communication. Great local pubs for either food or drinks.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic and idyllic location. The cabin was beautiful with gorgeous views of the surrounding valleys. Practically, it had everything you need for stay. Lots of help and advice available from Stella and David regarding the local area, maps also in the cabin for the rambling experts. Not a bad little pub (New Inn) in the village that has reasonable priced pub food and good beer and wine. Close to Lake Vyrnwy and Rhiwargor Waterfall which were our main attraction to the area. However, plenty more to see and do nearby. Will definitely stay here again in the summer.

    Damen2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from an amazing stay in Stella’s Cabin...... there is nothing but positive things to say about this place. Stella was really easy to communicate with and quick to reply, the directions were spot on and we found the property in the dark and heavy showers. Once in the cabin you have everything you need and more, it’s no cold as there are heaters and radiators, the cabin was spotlessly clean with a great information guide left for guests, the views from the cabin are stunning, there’s plenty to do locally all about a 20 minute drive, we drove to Snowdonia which was a 1 1/2 drive through stunning scenery. We did two nights here and wish we could have stayed longer, I’ll definitely be going back as the area has so much to offer for those who like the outdoors.

    Odine2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is clean, all of the amenities work well and the bed was very comfortable. My mum had a couple nights of the best sleep she's had in some time. The hosts are kind and knowledgeable. They gave us some fantastic places to visit. Check out Lake Vyrnwy and Pistyll Rhaeadr. The place is beautiful.

    Lee2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Stella's cabin was just perfect ! Communication before our stay was great and also whilst we were there. Checking in was super easy and the directions Stella gave us were also super easy to follow. The cabin was beautiful and sparkling clean. There was everything in there we needed and more. The bed was very comfortable and even with the weather starting to get cold the cabin was very cozy and warm. There was a booklet in the cabin with directions for great walks, local shops and pubs and instructions on how to use everything in the cabin. The surroundings and the local village were beautiful ! The local pub The New Inn was great for food and drinks. Stella was a very attentive host, it was a pleasure to meet her. All in all its perfect for a quiet getaway. We would definitely recommend and will definitely return. Thank you so much. Michelle and Steven x

Our place is a converted loft space right in the centre of the beautiful village of Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant on the edge of the Berwyn Mountains. It’s one big open room containing two sets of sturdy bunk beds, a kitchen area and a separate shower room. Our place is not shared, you have a private entrance, you have exclusive use, it sleeps four in the bunk beds but sometimes people add extra camp beds etc - this is absolutely fine.
Our space is a bunk room, is it modern, clean, well equipped and practical. It is suitable for walkers, cyclists, families who want to explore the local area. Unusually for a bunk room we provide bedding - but please note not towels. It’s a standard £50 per night for the whole space for up to four people (just to clarify £50 for the room not £50 per person).
Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant is a charming little Welsh Village, the Bunk Room is directly on the quaint village square which contains small shops, two pubs, a cafe, a butcher & a fabulous Fish and Chip shop.
  • Nice place in a quiet village, suitable for a short stay. Description is accurate and check in is super straightforward!

  • Stunning cabin with stunning views

    Anthony2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a peaceful visit away from everyday life to just relax. The cabins were beautiful inside and out as well as the amazing views. The private hot-tub was just a bonus. It snowed whilst we were there which made it that much Christmassy for us, as well as the Christmas decorations within the cabin. Haf and her family were super friendly and respectful. We recommend anyone that needs to take some time to unwind that they come here.

    Courtney2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a weekend, and it was amazing. The cabin was much bigger than expected and was very well equipped and very cozy! Haf was very helpful and responsive! Definitely recommend staying here!

  • I can’t recommend these cabins enough! Beautiful accommodation inside and out, the private hot tub was perfect to come back too after being out walking all day. The cabin was warm and cosy when we arrived and had everything we needed. The location was ideal I would recommend anyone staying here to take a trip to the waterfalls. We will definitely be rebooking in the new year.

    Elizabeth2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such amazing views! An amazing place! Would highly recommend this to anyone!

    Josh2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • These cabins are set in a stunning location with beautiful views all around. We were pleasantly surprised at how much bigger our cabin was than expected from the photos. The private hot tub is large enough for 6 people and we used it twice a day and it was always hot ready to use. Our host Haf, was super quick and friendly to respond to messages and any queries we had . The cabin was lovely and warm, (we visited in Oct) and has everything you need. Our only criticism was that the mattresses are not the best but other that that it is an amazing place to stay and we would totally recommend it.

Ty Idris has a wonderful south/west facing terraced garden which leads right down to the rivers edge. The house is a great place to relax, eat, socialise and makes a great base for hill walkers, cyclists and to easily explore all of the local must see sights. One well behaved dog is welcome but please message me the breed first. There is a secure storage room for cycles.
The house is full of character with lovely exposed beams downstairs. It's clean and nicely furnished for an enjoyable care free stay.
The village welcomes holiday makers all year round. You will definitely meet some local characters, if you choose to visit the local pubs
  • We were very impressed with Bob’s quick responses and the cleanliness of the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • A comfortable, warm, well-appointed, spacious and characterful cottage in a peaceful and idyllic setting.

    Richard2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very nice and cosy. Back yard is amazing, you can sit on a river side. There is also a place for bbq and the host left a disposable bbq for us. Checked in with a key from a safe - very quick and convenient. Very convenient free parking just near the house. Reception was bad for us in the house and in the area in general. The house has a wifi so we managed. Small shops within 1 min walk. A bit far from many Snowdonia attractions, but on the other hand just 12 min drive from a great waterfall. It is fair, just need to check beforehand and be prepared.

    Alex2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and beautiful house in the middle of Welsh countryside. We loved the back garden, the peaceful village and the nearby waterfalls. The house is provided with all commodities needed for a comfortable stay; the communication with Bob was very easy and quick and he was very kind and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

  • Mandy and her husband Derek ares such incredible hosts. When I arrived, she had tea with a selection of her own homemade cakes ready. The house was warm throughout (not all AirBnB's I stayed at were), and Mandy urged me to use the lounge we call it the living room in the US) to watch TV or to hang out. They answered so many of my questions about England, about the area, etc. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom/shower amenities perfect. This is located in a very quiet neighborhood. However, there are lots of walking trails nearby that Mandy can recommend. I had a perfect experience there!

Three log cabins (Sleep 2 in each) TV in both. Wc / Washroom. One outdoor shower and a outdoor bath. Log burning Finnish Sauna. Treehouse sleps two persons. We also an out door bbq dining area.Magnificent views over the hills and down to the river. Only 1 mile from the famous Lake Vyrnwy and Dam.
  • If you like a quirky place to stay then you will love this. A series of wooden cabins and tree house, it is certainly not a conventional holiday let. But we loved it and will definitely come back again. Be aware this is a little like a mixture of normal b&b and camping. Stuart is a very friendly and helpful host and communication was very easy. A highlight for us was the bath with an unhindered view of the river (ie no wall or window....it just looks out over the river.) You may think this might be a bit drafty, but we loved it after our swim in the river on a wet day in March. The shower also does not have a roof, and there is a second bath that is completely outdoors. Fantastic!! Lots of hot water too. Shame we didnt find time for the sauna. The main bedroom cabins were warm and cosy and we had a comfortable nights sleep listening to the rain and the river. If you're looking for a holiday home with a difference, then this is the place for you. 😊

  • Wonderful ... complete retreat away from everything ... you can’t help relax. Red hot outdoor bath was superb ... the log cabin was super cosy with an excellent nostalgic selection of VHS. Stuart gave us a lift to the dam due to weather conditions with excellent advice on the return walk home ... great hospitality and a must to ‘get away from it all’.

  • My partner and I drove for 6 hours to reach Stuarts place for a one night stay, but it was worth every minute of the drive. Following Stuarts direction to the property made finding the accomodation a breeze. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of Pinot, pleasant conversation, followed by a tour of the grounds. We unfortunately arrived during storm Dennis, so as expected the pathways were very muddy and slippery, but this did not spoil our experience, the cabins have stunning views of the river that runs through Stuarts land, it has to be seen to be believed. We stayed in the main cabin, it is far from a shed but a properly built log cabin that kept us dry and warm! The whole place is very cute and cosy. The kitchen was well supplied with plates and cooking accessories and the bedroom has a small TV with a big choice of VHS to choose from Bathing outside in the storm is an experience I will never forget, and bathing in the skypod in the morning with the river running directly in front of you is simply amazing. Stuarts house is closer than it appears in photos, however it is downhill of the cabins offering privacy. When we checked out we were kindly offered a cup of tea which we turned down as we had a long drive ahead, however Stuart made a point of insisting we visit the Lake and Dam, and we are thrilled he did so, as this was simply stunning. We can't wait to experience Stuarts property again in the warmer and dryer weather!.

    Matty2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a brilliant time away at Stuarts place! Definitely recommend this to my friends and family, beautiful place with the most beautiful surroundings, would come back again in a heart beat! Great time, and super host!

The annex is a newly converted self-contained, fully equipped living space with kitchen, bedroom and en-suite, and with the added comfort of underfloor heating. It has it’s own private front entrance and off-road parking along side the annex. We have fantastic views of the Berwyn mountains and countryside. We are within walking distance of the village pub and shop and close to Pistyll Rhaedr - the tallest waterfall in England & Wales, and Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir and RSPB reserve.
We are located at the end of a peaceful, charming village and we have beautiful views of the Berwyn Mountains and surrounding countryside. In the summer there is a patio and BBQ to the rear of the annex over looking the views. The annex is attached to the main house but is a separate private living space including en-suite and kitchen with breakfast bar, fridge freezer, oven, electric hobs, toaster and kettle and anything else you might need. It’s compact and comfortable - A great place to base yourselves while exploring North or Mid-Wales. There are walks directly from the property and, for the more experienced, rock climbing close by and just down the road is Revolution Bike Park which is perfect for the more seasoned Mountain Bikers. The area is popular with walkers, and Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away.
We are located at the edge of a charming welsh village, which has it's own pub, post office and shop where you can buy most of your essentials. We’re not far from Snowdonia National Park and Bala which is great for watersports - windsurfing to stand up paddle boarding. There is plenty of quiet and beautiful local walks within the Berwyns and in the Tanat valley. You won’t be stuck for things to do!

Run on permaculture principles, Tanyfron Housing Co-operative is home to two families and is situated on a wooded site overlooking the Vyrnwy Valley. We are offering a double room, with a view across the valley
Very important - Please Read! There is absolutely no smoking allowed on-site at Tan y fron, no perfumes, deoderants, aerosols, as we have two residents who have chronic chest conditions. Our accommodation is extremely basic. There is no shower available at the moment as that part of the house is being renovated, and the toilet, whilst inside, is a very basic compost toilet. There is no running water available, but there is a basin for washing and we can provide hot water in a jug for you and cold water so you can clean your teeth. We also provide towels and bed linen. Sorry, but we do not provide any meals. If you are interested in permaculture and living lightly on the land, please consider coming to stay. If you just want somewhere to rest for the night, then this is also the place for you. There are areas of the property where guests, for their own safety, will not be allowed to access. We welcome dogs by arrangement.
We are based in the Vyrnwy river valley - a beautiful part of Powys popular with walkers, cyclists and visitors from all over the world. We are twenty minutes away from the famous Pistyll Rheaedre waterfall, the highest fall in Wales nestled in the mystical Berwyn mountains; the canal and steam railway at Welshpool is fifteen minutes away and Lake Vyrnwy is around thirty minutes.
  • Really lovely setting and the hosts were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The place was also really good value, no shower at the moment and a composting loo (it didn't smell at all) but it had everything else you'd expect from any other Airbnb. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area.

The cottage is in the little village of Llangynog near Snowdonia. It’s easy to reach from England and offers great access to the mountains and countryside of north Wales with an easy and scenic drive to Snowdon. The village has two pubs, both just a minute away from the cottage. There are great walks and cycling around Llangynog which is also well known as being the home of Revolution Bike Park. Revs is only minutes away from the cottage by bike and you can see the park from the cottage.
There is a king size bed in the upstairs bedroom and a large bathroom with bath, shower and washing machine. In the living room there is a sofa bed that converts easily into a king size double bed. A downstairs toilet means those sleeping downstairs have easy access to facilities at night time. The fridge in the kitchen is quite small and there is no freezer so please take care with what shopping you bring. There is a Smart TV (but no Sky TV) and a range of books and DVDs available. Secure mountain bike storage can be available on request.
The area is sometimes referred to as the Welsh lake district as there are several lakes as you make your way into Wales. For mountain bikers, in addition to Revs, Antur Stiniog and Coed y Brenin are both in easy reach by car.
  • Extremely comfortable

  • Absolutely stunning location and the cottage was spot on. Very clean and welcoming. I will definitely be returning soon

  • Everything you need is supplied in the cottage. We loved the log burner in the evenings and the very well equipped kitchen. You can go walking straight out of the front door without having to drive and have a welcome drink on return in the pub directly across the road.

  • A well-furnished, spotlessly clean, very comfortable cottage in a great location. Cold when we arrived but the wood-burning stove and heaters soon warmed it and it was lovely and cosy. We'd come again.

  • This is such a lovely cosy cottage with gorgeous views. It’s a lovely base to cook a good meal and relax in-front of the wood burner after a days walking. This is our second stay and we’ll definitely be back.

  • lovely little cottage, well presented and equipped with everything you need for your stay, lovely little touches too. plenty of books and DVDs if you want to stay in, large screen TV, WiFi was not the best but perfectly adequate for what we needed. We were informed before we went that there was no freezer but the small fridge has a tiny little freezer compartment which is ok for doing a few ice cubes etc. Very helpful "house Manual" supplied and accurate and helpful instructions. We enjoyed our short stay and would be happy to come back in the summer for a longer stay.

Plas-yn-Llan is a lovely historic coaching inn with a unique character, in a welcoming village with six shops, three pubs and a chippy. The stone house features three wood-burning stoves, with generous supplies of timber stacked in the barn to the rear of the private courtyard. Hikers and bikers will love exploring Pistyll Rhaeadr and the majestic Berwyn Mountains, straight uphill from the back door. Visitors who prefer the quiet life may find a treat among the few thousand books on our shelves.
Plas-yn-Llan is a delightful old stone coaching-inn, with lots of intriguing features. An easy place to relax, it has wood-burning stoves in the reception hall/dining room, in the main sitting room/library and in the cosy snug. The sitting room and the snug have recently been renovated, with Victorian fire-places removed to reveal the original 18th Century stone lintels. Each bedroom has its own unique character; all are thoroughly insulated for maximum cosiness. Children will love the warm attic bedrooms, full of books for 5-15s. The private courtyard behind the house becomes a sun-trap in summer, a perfect spot for alfresco breakfasts or evening barbecues. Hikers will find many fantastic peaks and valleys to explore among the Berwyn mountains, set right behind the village - and the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, one of the old "Seven Wonders of Wales", is just 4 miles up the winding lane. Bikers, too, will find plenty of opportunities on the hills and along largely traffic-free roads - and can take care of the bikes themselves in Plas-yn-Llan's large bike barn. Should the famous Welsh weather descend, the barn and boiler room are available to dry coats and boots.
HIKING & BIKING. There is a 1:25k scale map of the whole area, with Llanrhaeadr right in the middle, on the wall on the landing. Plenty more maps (1:25,000 and 1:50,000) will be left for you in the house, describing all the wonderful outdoor options, including the Berwyn Mountains, accessible on foot from the house, and the majestic heights of Snowdonia. PUBS. There are currently two within the village. The Wynnstay Hotel is the other side of the (triangular) village square: it also does food and has a large beer garden. The Hand (left out of the front door, past the Spar) is more of a drinking pub and has occasional live music events. SHOPS. There are two grocers: Spar and Greatorex. They both open at 09:00 and close at 22:00 most days and are equidistant either side of the house. Dave Keegan’s butcher shop (just across the road) is open 08:30-17:00, Tuesday to Saturday. The newsagent (left, on the square) is open 07:00-17:00, and the Post Office is open 09:00-17:00. And there’s a fish-and-chip shop too, just past the Spar. FACILITIES. The Falls Beauty Salon (opposite, to the right) is open Tuesday to Saturday mornings. There is a Medical Centre in the village (near the Plough pub), should you need to see a doctor, and an excellent dentist is next door but one!
  • Great place for a family get together.Beautiful house with lots of space to spread out. Very comfortable home. Great location for walking and sightseeing. Handy for pubs, shops and amenities in the village. Would highly recommend.

  • You will stay in a beautiful rambling old house, furnished and decorated in a most sympathetic, creative and clearly loving way. There is a pretty and large courtyard for outdoor space, and this is full of sweet smelling plants rambling over old brick walls. The kitchen in very well equipped and there is space for 10 people to sit around the huge dining table! The main bedroom has a huge bathroom with an old fashioned tub that you can really enjoy stretching out in. Its easy to get to wonderful walks, and the village has a surprising range of shops and pubs given its size. We had a great family celebration in this house, and are definitely keen to come back . Thanks Fergus and Kate!

    Vicki2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet place in a idyllic location. The house was very clean with many thoughtful touches, the house was even nicer than I’d expected! Kate and Fergus are lovely hosts and I would gladly recommend them, they also were helpful with suggestions on things to do locally and went above and beyond for us. There are a few places to visit locally if you enjoy being in nature and it’s a lovely village to spend some time with the family.

    Titus2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Twelve of stayed and had a great time catching up. There is plenty of seats to accommodate all in the dining room and outside The snug was cosy for watching TV, the living room we spent many hours chatting Beds are comfortable Plenty of bathrooms showers toilets Great area for outdoor fun and also shops Kate gave us lots of tips I enjoyed walking to the waterfall, nice tea room there for refreshment Walking up to the top I would not do with children, as the path is narrow with steep slopes next to it, also you can not see the waterfall itself from the top, but the view of the valley is outstanding Llangollen is a lovely day out you can walk along the river and get a horse pulled barge Llanfyllin has a swimming pool and gym be warned gym only open for one hour in the morning and then for a few hours in the afternoon Oswestry is only twenty minutes away and has a modern swimming pool for fun on rainy days and a gym Lake vrymy Not sure i spelt that correct) on way to llanfyllin is lovely to walk it has a damn that you can walk along and lovely tower the view is amazing as is Kelly's ice cream in the cafe The raven pub in welshpool makes amazing reasonably priced home cooked food Shrewsbury I know well is a lovely place to visit as is ironbridge and ludrow and hay on wye The locals are very friendly The butchers sausages are scrummy Wynstnny arms Sunday lunch is lovely they do not do meals weeknights The other pub has happy hour which my brothers loved I would highly recommend both Kate's and Fergus home, its suits all needs, relaxing, plenty of room for a big family to meet but not be under each others toes, We felt the photo do not reflect just how pretty and lovely late and Ferguss place is They have thought of everything Would I go back absolutely in a heart beat

  • comfortable and interesting house for family reunion - There were 10 of us and we, were not falling over each other, plenty of places to relax amongst the books, and spacious courtyard area for barbecues. Kate and Fergus made us feel very welcome - highly recommended. The area is great for walking and relaxing too.

    Jim2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fergus and Kate’s home is set in a lovely village and has all the amenities you could wish for for a family holiday or a group getaway. We stayed as a group last weekend and it was an ideal base. The hosts were extremely helpful prior to our stay, with comprehensive directions and good communication prior to our arrival. The place is spotlessly clean with towels and bed linen all supplied. There is a shop very close and 2 pubs so you would never be short of supplies. We really felt at home here and would recommend it highly.

  • The pods are super cosy and really cute, a perfect getaway for couples. Haf is a great host and the hot tub was already warmed up for us by the time we arrived. Make sure you go prepared as it's a few miles to any shops. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bed is super comfy so it really is like a home away from home. Can't wait to come back here again!

    Janine2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay with lovely hosts. Would highly recommend these pods as a break to anyone, we had a great stay!

    Lauren2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Haf’s for three nights and we loved every second. Haf had the place all clean and lovely homey touches. We did go in winter but still made some use of the hot tub. It was the best place to go and get away from everything. Bring plenty of food and you will be fine to bunker away in the cold weather. We will most definitely be back to see how beautiful it is in the summer.

    Chloe2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great little pod, we went for the optional hot tub which was well worth it. The pod is a nice cosy little space that was great for 2 and our small dog, we only stayed for 1 night. Host was excellent and met us at the entrance for a quick show around and then we were left to enjoy. Thanks.

    Jamie2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Haf’s Rainbow Pods are the perfect getaway. Haf is a brilliant and accommodating host and we had everything we needed/wanted. The pods themselves are lovely, cosy and extremely well built. The hot tub was amazing and even in December weather we had a really chilled night and morning enjoying the view of the welsh countryside. Would totally recommend. Great location 30 mins from lake Vernwy which is a great walking/sightseeing spot. Thanks Haf!

    Alicia2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect stay! Can't recommend enough, so peaceful and the perfect location. Haf was very welcoming and couldnt do enough for us. We will definitely be back :-) thanks Haf!

    Jessica2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • On the day of arrival Haf text me directions and upon arrival we were greeted by Haf with a lovely warm welcome. Haf took us around to the pod and showed us how everything worked. She also brought around some more logs for us for the hot tub and fire. Haf had already set up the hot tub for us which was very lovely and nice and warm for us to jump straight into. Everything about the place was very relaxing from the scenery to the fairy lights near the hot tub. The pod itself is absolutely beautiful and extremely clean. It was a last minute booking for my partners 30th birthday he enjoyed it so much, we will be back very shortly and have already told lots of family and friends about the place.

  • 10/10 stay. Everything was absolute perfection. Such a cosy place to stay, felt right at home instantly. Toni was so hospitable, she even baked us some cakes which were delicious! The location is so beautiful and theres lots to do, the only problem is that we didn’t want to leave the barn because we were so comfortable! We’ll definitely be returning. Thank you Toni! ☺️

    Ilona2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a privilege to be writing the first Airbnb review. Toni’s place is the perfect retreat. A huge bedroom, with a huge bath and a very cosy living room with log burner. The surrounding area is a delight, very quiet and with some very friendly locals. Powis castle (about 20 mins away) is very impressive too. If you’re thinking about booking, go for it! You will be hosted impeccably by Toni and you will have a wonderful, relaxing break.

  • This place is great. Toni welcomed us on arrival and was full of local knowledge and tips. The place was well thought through and done to a very high standard. It was sparklingly clean and a great location to go out and see the sounding area from as well as to relax in.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Haf’s cottage. It’s even better than the photos! Set in a beautiful location, you’ve got lovely pubs over the road and lovely Llangollen a few minutes drive away. The hot tub was absolutely fab with lovely views looking out onto the hills. Would love to visit again in the summer!

    Louise2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • 1st of all outstanding repose to a lukewarm hottub at 10pm on the last night, sent a gentleman down to set it up. The most amazing quiet little place, the cottage was well worth the daily price, you get a lot more than you expect. I highly recommend this place, two pubs so you can roll back through the door walking distance. They had entertainment not sure if every weekend, but music went off at 11pm. I would note those with chunky car's will struggle going the country road's to Oswestry and llanheadr d.c. The safest route is coming via thru Chirk and glan Ceiriog, a bit of a detour.. Please do book and on a plus no phone signal pure peace, however there is WiFi in a house phone for a fee in a tub if you need to make calls... Thank you for the the lovely experience haf and family..

  • Lovely, lovey cottage in a beautiful, remote location.

    Ben2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quirky cottage in a quaint hamlet with two outstanding pubs! Loved the added bonus of a hot tub. Very traditional cottage, low ceilings in part - watch your heads and access to the bunk bedroom is through the double bedroom. Bathroom downstairs. Very roomy and lovely views from back garden

    Alison2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice, quiet stay at Haf’s cottage. It is very comfortable and cosy. The surroundings are beautiful, inviting for great strolls. An additional bonus is the Hand hotel and restaurant a few steps away, where we went to have a memorable diners twice. Great cuisine at its best, with local ingredients. We highly recommend this cottage, if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle from the more touristy Llangollen or Chirk, yet close by.

    Barbara2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Haf's cottage was exactly what our group of 4 needed for our weekend away. We walked Snowdon on the Saturday (1hr 15 mins away) and came back to the cosy cottage & amazing private hot tub. The cottage is a lovely size, with a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom & additional conservatory area downstairs. Upstairs 3 bedrooms - one with two single beds, one with a double & one with a bunk bed. It's in a lovely, quiet, small village with a couple of nearby pubs (that get booked up quickly for food!). The nearest shop is a 10 min drive away. We unfortunately didn't have time to do any local walks but the area around looked beautiful. Would definitely stay again 😊
