  • Charming cottage that is in a great location with just a short walk to Manini beach! My wife and I enjoyed our stay. Ron and Karen are very careful to respect your privacy, but are around if you have questions or want a brief chat. They have many very good recommendations for things to do on the island that helped to make our stay special. There are numerous details in this cottage that have history and meaning. Ask Ron about some of the components, they come with a good story!

  • The cottage is so cute and charming to stay in. Karen and her husband were amazing hosts. As we got in, Karen showed us around to the beach and gave us insights of the area. Snorkeling at the beach was amazing. Lots of bright-colored fish by the reef. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed the decor of the cottage.

  • Great location, great cottage, great hosts. A real gem. Ideal for snorkelling, kayaking, enjoying the sea shore and beautiful sunsets. Encounter with dolphins almost guaranteed.

  • The Bali Cottage is a rustic, comfy space and hosts Karen and Ron are exceptional. They will bend over backwards to make sure guests are comfortable; the location is awesome, shady, and a 5 minute walk to Manini Beach. Everything you need is available in the cottage: coolers, beach towels, boogie boards, and toiletries just in case you forget yours! Go to sleep with the gentle sound of the surf... and wake up with the sun shining in your outdoor shower!

  • Stay here! It’s definitely more of a “glamping” vibe but so amazing! We loved waking up to the sounds of the ocean and wildlife. Very friendly hosts! The snorkel gear was awesome to have when we hiked to Captain Cook!

    Amanda2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most unique and memorable places I’ve ever stayed. Karen and Ron were very friendly hosts, who made sure we felt right at home.

    Bob2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough words to say how wonderful the Bali Cottage and Karen are. The space is AMAZING, the only negative thing I can think of is now all other Airbnb’s or even hotels or even my own home will all fall short of the magic that is the Bali Cottage. Karen is super communicative and welcoming and even walked me down to the beach when I got there, which btw is also amazing and charming. Literally could write a book on how much I loved my stay. Thank you again Karen for sharing your space with the world!

    Leah2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • A magical place! It has so much atmosphere and quirky touches. Kitchen had everything we needed and we spent a lot of our time on the porch. Didn’t miss the lack of air conditioning for our visit in November. We really settled in and enjoyed our 3 days immensely. You’re not just staying at a place, you’re really being hosted.

  • One of the best Airbnb’s we have ever stayed in. It was a perfect home to us during our trip to Captain Cook. Jesse and Lucia were great at checking in and making sure we were taken care of. We wish we had known about the roosters, we eventually got used to them, but the first night was definitely a surprise! I would recommend ear plugs to any light sleepers, but the (other) sounds of nature were wonderful to fall asleep and wake up to. I loved the openness of the living room; we really felt connected to nature and it definitely helped us relax and enjoy. The floor above can be nosy if others are walking around, but that’s to be expected anywhere you stay, really. But again, we really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay again. Thank you for everything! Mahalo!

    Lydia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing, design and decor was one of a kind. Definitely enjoyed our stay here! Very warm and welcoming hosts

  • We loved our stay at the Mango Farm! Thank you to Heather for making us feel right at home!

    Lisa2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to kick off our honeymoon. Heather provides us with all the amenities and recommendations to enjoy our stay as a “local” - which is our favorite way to travel. The fresh fruit from farm was a plus :) We arrived after dark and check in was easy and the location was simple to find. Beaches, restaurants and markets were 10-20 minutes away. We loved being away from the hustle, nestled into nature. We miss falling asleep to the sound of the frogs. It was hard not to be emotional upon leaving. It truly felt like home. We plan to visit again :)

  • Such a wonderful guest experience at Jerry and Alice's Kona Magic Sands place...we did not want our stay to end! Everything you need for a wonderful vacation is included - from a comfortable bed, all kitchen utensils and appliances, very nice linens and towels and anything you would need for a day at the beach. It is hard to describe the views and sounds of the ocean...there were days we just opened the lanai and spent most of the day enjoying the scenery (and serenity). And after a day of touring, it was so nice to come back and just enjoy the ocean, pool and making dinner in their well-equipped kitchen. We would actually look forward to returning each afternoon/evening to enjoy their place and the atmosphere. Jerry and Alice are such sincere and caring hosts... they truly want guests to enjoy their experience. There were tropical fresh flowers waiting for us as well as bananas from their own tree! We were sad when our stay ended and hope to be guests again! A wonderful, fabulous experience! Mahalo Jerry and Alice for sharing your paradise with us!

    Shannon2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing views and place. We saw whales, dolphins, fish, and turtles all from our condo! Jerry and Alice were some of the nicest people Ive ever met, very accomodating and definitely went above and beyond. We are definitely hoping to come back and stay here again.

    Kelsey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was very relaxing to hear the constant splashing of the waves, which sent us to sleep immediately! The Magic Sands restaurant was excellent, convenient and fun. Great to have an allocated parking space.

    Sharon2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry & Alice are the kind of hosts that you remember for years, their kindness and warm communication, they feel like friends rather than hosts. We will never forget the roar of the waves, the breath taking sunsets and the whales and dolphins daily transiting out front. 🐳🌊 🌅

    Darrell2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jerry and Alice's condo. The views were magnificent - a perfect place to take in an ocean sunset. Was nice to be able to lie in bed and hear the sound of the waves. The location was great too, right next to a nice beach and an easy drive to any other Kona destination. Jerry and Alice were great hosts and provided all the info we needed for our trip along with plenty of suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We would love to stay at their place again.

    David2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry and Alice are wonderful hosts and their condo is amazing. I would definitely come back here.

  • Right next to Magic Sands Beach. Perfect location. We loved hearing the waves lap up on the shore each night. Perfect sea breeze blows into the apartment each day. Jerry and Alice were kind and easy to interact with. Highly recommend!

    Kailua-Kona, HI, United States

We are a nicely appointed condo in the heart of Old Kona Town. We are across from the Hulie'e Palace and only a couple of hundred feet from the ocean. There are restaurants, galleries, Kona coffee houses and exotic shopping right out our doors. Tax #: W70176163-01 Price includes state taxes.
This beautiful condo was just fully and expertly remodeled and furnished. It is new inside with sophisticated Polynesian accents. We are in the heart of downtown Kona on the island of Hawaii or "The Big Island". We overlook the oldest church in Hawaii, Mokuaikaua Church, and the Hulihee Royal Palace in downtown Kona. We are steps away from the pier, restaurants and special activities. This is the heart of the old village of Kona, literally in the back yard of the Hulihee Palace. We have one bedroom one bath with large lanai and a new kitchen, fully stocked with all the necessary dishes. Although we are in the core and center of the town, we are quiet because of the church as our closest neighbor. We are on the quiet side of our building orientated toward the church grounds. We have covered and secured parking in a garage and elevators from the parking area. Cable, high-speed internet and a new washer/dryer is included. This is truly a wonderful property unique because of its setting. Our building includes a wonderful pool and barbecue decks which overlook the busy Ali'i Drive and the Pacific Ocean. Step out of the parking garage and you are in the middle of our restaurant and shopping area. Prices include Hawaii tax of 13.42%! This is important when comparing prices because many people add it onto the posted price. WE ARE NON-SMOKING!
I just love living in downtown Kona. We are on the quiet end of the "strip" here along the oceanfront at Kailua Bay. It is quiet in our neighborhood soon after dark. Just a few blocks down along the waterfront are our nightclubs and late-night restaurants with daily live music. It really is a special place, very calm with many shopping, dining and night club options.
  • This unit has everything. Clean and well looked after. It’s in the heart of downtown Kona. Easy to walk the street for local shopping and restaurants. Ed went out of his way to get us special beach chairs that we asked for. We would come back to this unit.

    Caroline2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The access was simple, Edward always responded to texts and questions fast, and the area is right by the beach and a bunch of shops! Such a cool area with lots to do, right on the ocean. Will definitely be coming back!

    Gabrielle2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This unit is great...an ideal price in an ideal location. It was convenient to get to places, a wonderful unit layout, and an important aspect of our two weeks on the Big Island.

    Jill2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Edward was such a great host for us! We only stayed with him one night. Our flight got in late, but he was still responsive when we messaged him. He was even willing to work with us on our check out time so we could enjoy our day in Kona without having to lug our bags around with us. The place was stylishly decorated, comfortable, impeccably clean and easy to access. Thank you Edward for a wonderful stay!

    Diana2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This clean unit is in a quiet location that it very close to the waterfront as well as many shops and stores. It was comfortably furnished inside as well as on the lanai. Edward has stocked his place with many thoughtful items and was quick to respond to our questions. The underground garage parking was very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Sharon2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and great host. After I realized that I had booked the wrong night he set me up with another of his properties at a discounted rate.

    John2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place has a great location right next to great restaurants and shopping yet quiet.

    Stephanie2019-11-14T00:00:00Z

Aloha and Mahalo for visiting my listing. "Pl.note that I don't have included the Transient /Ge tax ( 14.50%) in my price since it would reflect in the fee you pay to airbnb. I will collect it upon arrival." This place is nesteld on the slope of Hualalei mountain inmidst of coffee farms, from this cooler elevation (1200ft.) it is only 15 min./7 miles to Kailua -Kona, the nearest Beaches and Supermarket.
This downstair apartment is fully private with private entrance, bedroom has a queen bed, bathroom with bathtub/shower, walk-in closet. Lanai ( Porch) with view. Kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, electric skillet and electric pot, toaster, coffee maker, electric water kettle, rice cocker and a blender. Linen, towels and beach towels are provided. Free wireless internet, use of BBQ, car port. At 1200 elevation it is nice to come home from a day of activities at the beach to a cooler climate and quiet neighborhood to relax and watch the sunset from the lanai with view.
It is located in the midst of the famous Kona Coffee region, just 1 min. north from old charming Holualoa town with many Art Gallerys, a grocerie store, post office, coffee shop, and a wonderful outdoor restaurante (slow food). In just 12 min. ( or 7miles) you are in Kailua Kona town or at the nearest beaches.
  • A quiet space a little away from Holualoa Town, a large site with lots of fruit trees and trees. There is a two-story house in that space. The second floor is the host house and the first floor is the guest house. There are many similar homes around the property, in a quiet, relaxed and lovely area away from the hustle and bustle. Located at the foot of Mount Faralai and away from the sea, it is not too hot and cool. It's a bit cool in the morning and evening, so it's a good idea to have long sleeves. Rooms are clean and well cleaned. Cooking utensils are available, and there are rice cookers, microwave ovens, ovens, electric pots, hot plates, toasters, coffee makers, etc., so you can cook yourself without any problems. Since there is also a coffee mill, you can grind the purchased Kona coffee beans and drink it immediately. There is also a cartridge type water purifier, so there is no need to buy water. In addition, there are a lot of beach gear, and beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler boxes, snorkels, cool bottles, etc. were handy. The view from Lanai is a lot of trees underneath, the town of Kailua-Kona and the vast sea far away. Every day I spent watching beautiful sunsets. The lanai is large, so you can eat at the table or relax on the sofa. Rent-a-car is essential, but it is about 15 to 20 minutes drive to Kailua Kona, Keauhou shopping center and beach. Every day I went to KTA, Safeway, Target, Walmart and Kahaluu Beach. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the host lived on the second floor, so there was no need to receive or hand over the keys, just putting the keys on the table. The host woman is very kind and will answer me politely if I have anything, and I'm on the second floor so I can go to listen immediately. It keeps your private well, so you will rarely meet and help you only when you need it. I think it is the best location to spend your time on the Big Island slowly and comfortably, but I think it is a good distance for those who are actively moving to Hilo, Volcano, Mauna Kea, North Kona and many beaches, I went many times during my stay. Especially in the middle of the Kona coffee cultivation area, you can easily go around the coffee plantation everywhere. I stayed for about 3 weeks, but anyway, I found the location, environment, room and host to be satisfactory.

    Hiroshi2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karoline and her dog Hano are lovely hosts and her place was just perfect for our stay on the big island! Karoline has a beautiful house and guest apartment. Everything was sparkling clean and decorated in a cozy hawaiian style. We cooked a lot and were genuinely surprised by how good the kitchen devices (mixer, pans etc.) are! The whole apartment is very well thought through and Karoline goes above and beyond to ensure that her guests enjoy their stay. She even provided us with fresh fruits from her own garden! She also makes her own soapes and pays special attention to the environment and holding a sustainable houshold. Hano is the cutest, a very friendly, goofy and even a little shy doggo that one cannot help but love. We also loved the view from the apartment. One can see the ocean and watch the most amazing sunsets whilest sipping on a cold Big Wave or Longboard. So, if you get the chance stay here and enjoy this beautiful island from the very best airbnb.

    Mark2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Karoline’s place was warm and cozy as described. It has a neat view of the ocean, and the property itself is surrounded by lush trees. The house was stocked with amazing coffee beans, which my husband really enjoyed having. Karoline’s dog, Hano, was a cool hang out in the mornings. The place is conveniently located to Kona and other beaches (about 15-20mins drive). Highly recommend it.

    Rasika2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karolines house is very charming and well kept in every detail, and with a beautiful view over the garden and to the ocean. Peaceful area and close to a nice little village.

  • Chandy’s place was great! We really enjoyed visiting with her. She provided great tips for enjoying the Big Island! Our stay at her home was lovely and relaxing!

    Kara2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Chandy was very friendly and accommodating (especially with our late flight). Her place is beautiful, amazingly clean and comfortable. Very easy to find and conveniently located. Definitely recommended!

    Kira2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chandy’s home is beautiful. From the warm welcome of Grizzly at the door after a long flight, friendly conversation before going to bed and being made to feel welcome from the moment we got there, I could not recommend this place more. Chandy is a great host and very hospitable. I wish we had more time on the island to see and do some things. I know Chandy would have had some great recommendations. We were only on the island for the night. Chandy even gave us a ride to the airport in the morning. I cannot say enough. Our room was clean and bright in the morning and the bathroom was clean and fresh. Bagels, oatmeal, juice and coffee were offered. What more could you ask for.

  • Wonderful room within minutes from Kona International airport

  • Chandy's place is a really sweet spot to land. I came in after a long journey and multiple plane rides to a welcoming and warm home. The room is clean and tidy and the house is very family friendly.

  • Nice place to stay, very homey vibe. Comfortable and satisfied!

    Daniel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chandy’s place was perfect for my husband and I to recharge and recover before our long day of travel back to the mainland. Best of all, we got to sleep in a little since we were so close to the airport. Look forward to hopefully coming back to Hawaii and staying with Chandy again!

Located in South Kona, this Kona Paradise home is a wonderful place to come relax, cook a nice meal and watch the sunset on our enclosed covered lanai. Enjoy our very peaceful 2 bd/2ba home. Pebble Beach is just a short drive down the hill ( 4 mns. with steep but secured central Kaohe Rd.)where one can swim and snorkel as well as hike the King's Trail along the coast. ( large parking at the End of Mapuna Rd- last lateral Rd. at the bottom) Hookena Beach is just 5 miles North and is often the location where the dolphins come to play. We are about a 20minutes drive through beautiful coffee farm lands, direction to the town of Kailua-Kona. Volcanoes National Park and Green Sand Beach is about an 1 hr to 1.5 hours South. TV: Smart Flat screen TV (,Flicks,Hulu,Vaduz,YouTube,Netflix..) Private Bathroom and King size bed in Master bedroom with views of the ocean from the lanai. Also King size bed in second bedroom. Kitchen is well equipped.
Kona Paradise is a very safe and clean neighborhood. Access to Pebble beach at bottom of hill is one of my favorite beaches. Parking : do take the last lateral Mapuna Rd.on your left. Sometimes ( only sometimes) it is a bit rough and the current is to strong to swim in , but one can always stay at the shore and let the waves roll you around on the pebbles. Very special and fun! Also some nice hiking along the coast line to the left and to a black sand beach,to the right. Some attractive wild goats around, inoffensive wild pigs and their little ones, cut and funny small green geckos.Best Sunsets and ( or) Stars from the beach. Magic Time ! Kaohe, the central rd. of Kona Paradise ,from Hwy. to the shore( Pebble Beach) is pretty steep ,but fully secured.
  • Great atmosphere and location. House is cozy, kitchen is nice, everything is peaceful and relaxing. Had all the swimming/beach stuff we needed and our two year old felt at home. Beautiful flowers and grennery and the sunset views were amazing. Highly recommend this place, and Guy was very helpful with tips on where to go and what to do. We would go back for sure.

  • What's not to like? I would give this peaceful home-on-the-hill a 6-star rating. Is it for you? Expect nights that are inky black with a heavenly star show. Expect utter quiet except for bird calls, the rustle of breezes, and occasional raindrops hitting the roof. And expect about a dozen friendly geckos who are amazing acrobats. You will find plenty of hot and cold water, lots of towels, a top-notch washer and dryer (but I used the clothes line), and a well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds, too. Porches are screened and windows open on all sides to catch the breezes. Oh, one more thing: The Hill. Think San Francisco. Nestled at the end of one of the cross-streets, this home is perched about 2/3 of the way up a hill. Drive down to the bottom to find a black pebble beach and the King's trail. Great to hike in both directions but bring good boots. Up top is Highway 11, zero road noise, and the highway will take you to markets, parks, and other beaches (20-30 min drive). Guy, Delphine's dad, did a wonderful job hosting, start-to-finish. He's knowledgeable about the area. And in case you are bilingual, il parle francais. Merci beaucoup! A lovely 9-day stay and wish it had been longer. 6 Stars!

  • Tucked away in a neighborhood, windows and lanai with west-facing spectacular views of the ocean, casual, comfortable fully equipped home----this wonderful place is just as it is described: Peaceful House. We loved it here!

  • wonderful place to stay, very secluded and quiet, great for a restful escape from our busy lives, we would definitely come back for another stay

  • What a wonderful start to our Hawaii vacation. The host, Guy (Dephine's dad), is a sweet man who sent wonderful warm friendly and helpful messages before we arrived. He provided excellent directions, and even told us where the local supermarket is, so we could get groceries on the way to the house. Later we benefitted from his generous tips on places to go, nearby beaches, bakeries, etc. There was also a number of books and brochures in the house with more information about things to see and do on the Big Island. The house was comfortable, well-furnished and very nicely and creatively decorated with beautiful views of the ocean from the lanai, the living room and the master bedroom. The kitchen was great with a wonderful stove and all-new appliances; great place to cook. There was a beautiful dining table near the kitchen, but we preferred to eat at the table on the lovely lanai that wraps around ¾ of the house with a big eating area & potential sleeping area where you enter. There were lots of creative little touches in the house, such as the toothbrush holder in the shape of a pretty palm tree. A stairway leads to an area below the house where the washer and dryer are. There is also a lot of snorkeling and other equipment the guests can use. We made good use of some beach chairs that we were able to borrow and take to the beach one day. We had a fabulous time at Peaceful House in Kona Paradise. My spouse took Guy's suggestion to put little bits of fruit on her fingers while out on the lanai, to have the little geckos come and literally eat out of her hand. (I was asleep in bed at that time; she told me about it later.) My only regret was that I forgot to do the same. It rained on our last day there, and in our rush to drive to our 2nd place on the other side of the island, I forgot to entice the geckos to eat from my hand. (The 2nd place had no geckos.) The place was wonderful and so was the host, Guy. He is very communicative and friendly if you want communication, but totally respecting of your privacy if you don't. I highly recommend the Peaceful House in Kona Paradise.

    Dajenya2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view! Amazing wildlife just in the backyard. We witness a family of wild pigs coming though on a daily basis and they were so cute! The geckos are also very friendly and I enjoyed the sounds at night around the house. It’s so peaceful you can hear every insect making sound. I loved it! Highly recommend sleeping with the sliding door open. :) The house is older, but I will never forget that view. If we come to the big island again, I would definitely considering staying here again. Note: the house is located in an area with steep hills. It’s pretty safe but our car did have a difficult time going all the way down And up to pebble beach.

  • Wow! The best airbnb I've ever seen! Thank you so much for creating such an awesome retreat/ escape! Loved using the beach supplies...snorkeling at 2 step and captain cooks! The fruit was exotic and amazing! And the treehouse is magical! Beyond description.

  • Amazing views from bed! The whole place is so cutely decorated and Jeff's hospitality was spectacular. Aside from the bedroom and bathroom the common spaces are outside. it was not dirty place by any means but as most out side places leafs fall and wind can blow dust. would not recommend if camping is not your thing but we loved the location and the stay!

    Alexandria2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse was more than we expected. Feeling the air blow through the entire area was very surreal coming from a cold climate. The birds singing was a great start to the day followed by fresh eggs from the chicken coop for breakfast. The bed is very comfortable and the view from it was to die for. You won’t be disappointed. • The treehouse is absolutely magical! The view from bed is straight out of a magazine, with the outdoor kitchen, luxurious bathroom, and sitting area all delivering fantastic attention to detail. After a visit to the little farm on site to fetch fresh eggs and say hi to the pigs, you'll be wondering why you don't live there yourself! Thanks for such a great stay!

    Sean2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is a perfect place to stay in Kona. It’s close to everything, the amenities are great, and you won’t find a more fun, interesting airbnb on the island. Jeff was welcoming, super easy to communicate with, and seems to be constantly improving the place. A+ would sleep again

    Matt2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and it was unbelievable! The pictures look incredible of the tree house but in person it will truly take your breath away! Jeff was kind enough to bring us some fresh bananas and tangerines from the garden. Amazing trip!

    McKenzie2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, with a stunning view. Perfect for a couple's trip. Close to the shopping center but stock your stuff beforehand and never leave the place. We were here for honeymoon and had a wonderful time!

Centrally located between South Kohala's beaches, and the dining and entertainment scene of Kailua-Kona, the Kaloko Coffee Cottage is at a cool elevation making naps after morning/day adventures a...well a dream! Far from any roads, the dominant sounds are the many birds who make their homes in the surrounding trees. This is a thoughtfully furnished home with an open layout, on a Kona coffee farm, just bring your food and clothes for which ever adventure you intend; leave the accommodations and ambiance to us and Hawaii.
Private 1 bedroom 1 bathroom Cottage with a full kitchen (fully equipped) and laundry. The bedroom and lanai have fabulous ocean views. There is a brand new queen bed and also a new queen memory foam pull out couch. There is fast WiFi and a comfortable work space. The tv has a fire stick for prime movies and shows. The house is accessed by its own gated driveway at the end of a quiet road. (If you care for a stroll it is an Excellent road for it!) The lanai is a great place to sit and enjoy a morning cup of coffee while watching the boats go out from the harbor. It is on a beautiful fenced property with coffee, citrus, and avocado trees.
The cottage is set at the end of a quiet one lane road on the hillside of Mount Hualalai, at a scenic elevation of 1600 feet. There are many beautiful hikes nearby such as the Jurassic Trail and Kaloko Cloud Forest Trail.
  • Nice, spacious cottage with perfect privacy and stunning sunsets. Always a little breeze so no need for A/C. A plus are the mosquite-netted windows, although we did not encounter a single one! While there are further houses nearby, the cottage itself is really private and kind of remote. We would stay in the cottage again.

  • Really well appointed cosy cottage for a couple ... we stayed for a week. Great base of operations with nice views of the sea. Quiet location yet very handy if travelling north and east. Hosts very professional, great communicators. Highly recommended.

  • Wow! This place is absolutely awesome. Private, spotless, homey, far enough away to be private, yet close enough to have a great time. Plenty of amenities and hot water and a bathtub. My personal favorite. We opened every window and basked in the ocean breeze. You can see the ocean from the porch and bedroom window. It’s got a full kitchen. Stop at Safeway and get what you need first. It’s only about 10 minutes away. We had a teeny tiny issue, that I’m reluctant to even mention, and the only reason I am is to let you know Maura handled it right away. If we come back to Hawai’i, this is where we will stay! Mahalo

This is a very small space that is meant to serve the basic needs of travelers on a budget. Comfortable, clean, detached studio guesthouse conveniently located close to downtown Kailua-Kona yet removed from the hustle and bustle in a residential neighborhood. 20 minutes from the airport.
This is a very small space, approximately 300 sq ft. Perfect for solo or couple travelers on a budget. It will meet your basic needs with a comfortable place to sleep, shower, a microwave, dishes, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, and two fans. The room can get hot during the day, especially during hotter times of the year, yet since it is located at a fairly high elevation it cools down nicely at night. Two fans provided. There is no closet or dresser but there are some shelves that can be used for clothing storage. Wifi provided. Conveniently located a mile and a half from Safeway and Walmart and approximately a 10 minute drive from downtown Kailua-Kona. This is a very old Hawaiian neighborhood and the space is an old structure. Although it is clean and comfortable, this is Hawaii, please do not be frightened if you encounter some ants in the unit. The shower is very old and has collected some stains over the years but I assure, it is scrubbed after each guest checks out. Must be okay with animals as there is a cat that lives on the property and hangs out in the carport area nearby the unit and will most likely come to say hello. He does not have access to your unit if you do not want him to. There are also two dogs that live on the property but you will most likely not encounter them as they live in the main house and stick to the backyard. The houses in this neighborhood are close together and windows are left open for a nice island breeze so please expect to hear some level of neighborhood life.
Old residential neighborhood. Home is located on a quiet cul de sac. 1.5 miles from Safeway and Walmart. 10 minute drive to downtown Kona and 20 minutes from the airport.
  • Super clear and timely communication with easy check in. A perfect little spot for a traveler on a budget.

  • Hannah’s place was perfect for our one night stay after a long flight from NYC. Easy check in, comfy bed and some nice reading material about the big island made for a short lovely stay. Also appreciated the soft fluffy towels to wash the long plane ride off (it’s the little things :) Thanks Hannah!

    Nitasha2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy to get to from the airport using google. Great location to downtown Kona (about 8 min drive). Very clean and quite. Exactly like the pictures! Great space for the price.

    Patricia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is excellent if you need a spot to stay close to the airport! The bed was super comfortable and the host provided us with two towels! There were two fans to keep you nice and cool. Ideal for a couple or solo traveller. We were only there for one night and was staying at another Airbnb for the week. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was because it wasn’t the most clean.. it smelled a little musty and there were splatters all over the mirror in the bathroom.. it’s super convenient but I probably wouldn’t stay here for more than a night or two..with that being said the host was very quick to respond and overall was a pleasant interaction/experience.

    Sav2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great as a stop over near the airport--had everything you need! Hannah was great, and answered my call when I got lost. A very gracious host! Thank you!

    Cindy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We felt comfortable and can recommend it. Unit larger than expected. Functionally furnished. However, there is no storage space. No closet, no clothes rail, few hooks. The fridge in the room runs quietly. Microwave, coffee machine and basic kitchen equipment available. Wifi stable. Cleanliness ok, same as bed linen and towels. No roommates with multiple legs. Wash and dry for free. Quiet surroundings. Pure residential area in the hills in front of Kona. Parking in front of the door. 5 minutes by car to the next Walmart / Safeways. From 10 minutes by car into the tourist bustle. Easy check in and check out. Contact the landlord only in writing, not in person. Hannah always replies super quickly. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio was very good. It was enough to sleep. We would book it again for this.

Are you looking for a vacation where you pull into a small residential neighborhood, see how life is lived here at 900 ft elevation just outside of the Kona Village? Then you will love the Harbor View Hale that is nestled in a very tight knit community! It is a private 500 sq ft, 1 Bedroom apartment located in the lower part of our house only shared walls with a laundry room and a mostly unused guest bedroom to our part of the house and its private entrance. We have renovated this one Bedroom with all our love and our utmost priority was to provide you a seamless, worry free vacation with all the luxuries we could fit in. When we picked out materials, appliances, linens and furniture... the priority was always quality, cohesiveness as supposed to what was the cheapest. We are looking for guests who appreciate quality. Well stocked KITCHEN: - Mustard, Ketchup, Mayo, Olive Oil, Vinegar, Himalayan Salt, Black Pepper, Soy Sauce, Hot Sauce, different spices and dried herbs (from Cayenne to Garam Masala), Sugar, Coffee and Tea -Professional non-stick pots -any kitchen tool to cook the usual meal -Storage containers, bags -Cooling elements and bag for your pick nicks -Blender, Water kettle, rice cooker, coffee grinder, coffee machine, microwave, toaster oven, full size fridge with freezer -options to eat on the nice lanai or in the dining area inside
From the Harbor View Hale it is only a 7 minute ride by CAR to Kona town center where you will be able to get groceries, dining, beach activities (SUP, Kayak, Parasail, glass bottom boat, snorkeling, swimming, etc), banks, gas stations, happy hours, pharmacy, parks, tours etc. The closest beach is in town ( Magic Sands, Kona Pier, Old Airport), however our favorite beach "KUA BAY" is just 15 minutes down the "Queen K" highway up north. However the west side of the Big Island is lined with spectacular beaches from 10 minutes away, to all the way up north where you will drive 50 minutes to an hour. The closest and very nice coffee farm is just 5 minutes up on Mamalahoa Hwy. "Hula Daddy" or "UCC Coffee" There is a great beginners snorkel spot in town called Kahalu'u. You can get your first snorkel experience here... if you are more advanced, you can go down south to 2 Step beach, where also in the early morning you may see some dolphins playing in the water. The Airport is 15 minutes away, just far enough that we don't hear or see it. :-) The Kona Marina, you can see from your lanai and is about 5-7 minutes down the hill. This is where many of the dolphin, manta ray, snorkel, deep see fishing trips depart from. To the right of the marina is an old Hawaiian holy ground, where you will often encounter sea turtles. The neighborhood is called Kealakehe or "Harbor View". There is an elementary school about 2 streets away, many families live in this area. We live our daily life here in this house as well, so daily common activities happen. :-)
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Harbor View Hale! While we could tell we were in for a treat from the informative listing, the actual experience surpassed our expectations from the moment we checked in. The Hale is very conveniently located just a few minutes drive from downtown Kailua-Kona. The space is immaculately kept and very comfortable with all the amenities and furnishings you could hope for and then some. Jaan and Saima were very clear and timely with all of their communications and left great information in the Hale about the Big Island and things to do in the local area and elsewhere. Great space, great location, great hosts. We wholeheartedly recommend.

  • I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. The entire experience (from booking to checkout) was exceptional. The property was spotless with so many extras, it would take all day to list them. The location was great. The fresh papaya from their tree was incredible. The view was excellent. Can't recommend Jaan and Saima as hosts highly enough.

    Peggy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jaan and Saima's place was fantastic! You can tell that they care about creating a great experience for guests and have great pride in their rental. Lots of little extras and sweet touches made this place feel more like home, and we would absolutely rent from them again. Mahalo for a fantastic stay!

  • From the moment we booked this place we were treated like royalty. Excellent communication with lots of ideas on things to do and check in info. The description and amenities were accurate (actually the reality was way beyond our expectation). This is a one bedroom/kitchen/sitting area/shower/laundry/private balcony with a view flat in a quiet neighborhood. Everything was clean, parking was easy, free and safe. We were right up the hill from Costco. The place was equipped with everything you could need - most importantly a cooler, boogie board, beach chairs and umbrella, picnic dishes. The kitchen has necessary appliances like a good coffee maker/grinder, toaster oven, microwave, full size fridge and oven. Good knives and dishes for food prep if that's your thing and other supplies to make you feel at home. We were able to plug in our devices conveniently in every room. There's no AC but we didn't need it - there was a nice breeze plus fans in every room. We can't say enough about this place - we will be back. Thank you Jaan and Saima!

    Edith2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jaan and Saima have an awesome place, well appointed with many nice touches and amenities. The lanai is large and has a great view and the multiple fans were also helpful. Lots of beach gear to use as well. Above the hustle and bustle of Kona but just a few minutes drive to “the action”. Highly recommend this place to all travelers.

    Steve2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Harbor View Hale was an amazing stay. They put so much thought and detail into making you feel comfortable. The fresh fruit and breakfast were just one of the many things that made our stay extremely comfortable. Any item that you may need is there for you.. there are small labels around next to windows, and in the kitchen that help with some of the confusion on where things are and how to work them. Plus the location and view!! Could not beat that. I also loved the homemade lilikoi jelly souvenirs and Jaan makes. I bought 4 to take home! We had no trouble with parking, and most things are 10-30 minutes out. But driving in Hawaii is not like 30 minutes driving back home. Every trip feels short! The bed, pillows, furniture, appliances, flooring, everything is such nice quality. I love the table in the living room, the plants, I love the bookshelf in the bedroom and how the closet is designed. Even the hangers are the best felt hangers. From a functionality standpoint, 5 Stars!

    Sami2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a stylish place. Great environment. You have your privacy and everything you could EVER need. Jaans jams were truly a highlight. Very close to restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed staying here and would absolutely do it again.

    Kailua-Kona, HI, United States

This quaint & private cottage is located in Kaloko, Kailua Kona, HI and is located less than 15 minutes from the the Kona International Airport.
This is a small studio cottage with private bathroom and queen size bed set on a beautiful 3-acre property surrounded by native Hawaiian forest, alive with birdsong and sounds of nature. There is a small refrigerator (not a full kitchen). Please note that no more than 2 persons would fit comfortably in this space. It is great for a couple (someone you are used to sharing a space with). Most guests say it really works well for them if they’re just looking for a place to sleep, shower, have easy style meals (sandwiches, yogurts, fruits etc) & are planning to be out & about exploring most of the day. I start you off with some fresh ground coffee, creamers & sugar. Pitcher of filtered water in the mini fridge.
Kaloko is set in a beautiful protected forest.
  • We ended up spending only a few hours at this lovely cottage due to some travel mix ups. However, this cottage is so lovely that I want to go back! The hosts are very responsive and kind. The space is very clean and relaxing. I would highly recommend this cottage to any traveler looking for a cozy space in an amazing setting.

    Elise2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We choose this location because we were coming in late and it is close to the airport. But while it is only 15 minutes away it is in another world. Just out of the valley and up into the beautifully forested hills. I love Airbnb because people are willing to share their amazing places with others. This cute cottage is beautiful decorated with many thoughtful touches. There was a bowl with some fruit waiting for us. Which we really appreciated after a long day of flying and munching on snack food all day. I don’t know why people would stay in a hotel when they can stay in a amazing place like this for less than the cost of a hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and we got a great nights sleep. We would definitely stay here again and probably for a longer period of time. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful place with us.

    Diana2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway in a quiet neighborhood. Loved the rain forest all around it. Close enough to Kona. Bed was so comfortable!

    Lisa2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage with a queen bed and bathroom. It's up on the mountain side of the island so it's a lot cooler of a place to stay than if you were costal. Great communication with the hosts.

    Zach2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This location is perfect. Not too far from the action, but still far enough from the noise. Mele and Paulo are chill and easy going. The space is small and enough for two people. Has just about all you need. You'll hear hawaii nature at night and in the AM. Check it out!

    Nick2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space in the forest above Kailua-Kona. Beautiful yard, cute outdoor dining table. Love the forest - it’s a lovely place to enjoy it.

    Jim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great stay at Mele & Paulo's BnB. The space is very clean and nicely decorated. The location is great too. Close enough to the airport and at a very comfortable altitude lending to a great night's sleep. We wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

Surfboards, snorkel gear, smart TV (netflix/hulu), beach gear, kitchen with all the basics, laundry machine, cooler and tunes at your disposal.
I live in a quiet condo in the middle of everything. Beautiful lanai and a great place to chill and talk story.

  • This was a wonderful stay for the price. Every detail was taken care of, and it is clean as can be! Jeff was a perfect host who was very responsive and attentive during our stay! The property is lovely and we slept very well. It’s super nice to stay out of town for a couple reasons: 1. The crowds and extreme congestion don’t exist at Jeff’s place. 2. The cooler temperatures make for very comfortable sleeping. No complaints 👍🏼

    Laurie Medeiros2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff is very kind and generous. The fruits available are seasonal. We were fortunate to have fresh picked papayas, avocados, guavas, dragonfruit, and bananas. As well as fresh eggs from the chickens. We loved his dog Marley and hugged him everyday. The location had an incredible view and wonderful feel. We will definitely return.

    Juancarlos2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. No improvements necessary.

    Sarah2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s place was great and he was an awesome host. He shared some “praying hands” bananas and had ample beach supplies on hand. The place is just hit enough for 2 people for a few nights as we explored Kona and the surroundings. We’d definitely stay here again.

    Adam2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place was amazing. The view from the house is beautiful and Jeff allowed us to walk basically all around the property. He had chickens and pigs on the property, as well as a cute lab named Marley! We had the best time playing with Marley when we were around. The studio itself was very clean and well kept. Perfect amount of space for two of us and in a great location. The main city/beach area was only 15 minutes or so away, which made it easy for us to come back during the day if we wanted to. Overall, great place to stay.

    Jocelyn2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely small farm in a good residential area above Kona, but still convenient to the town and beaches. Jeff is an attentive host and his enthusiasm to share his love for his farm is a great bonus. This is what makes the BnB stays so much more enjoyable than a homogenous hotel experience.

    ELiza2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you csn, stay here

    Charlotte2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Jeff was amazing. The views are unreal and the sunsets are very enjoyable. Jeff is a great host, I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Kona.

  • Laura's place is great, the location was amazing and for the rate she is offering it was great value for money. The viewings were infrequent and not a problem. The space is small but with the balcony and pool area there is plenty of outdoor option and it is such a short walk to the main street and beach. The place is not overly stocked with household things, but there is enough to make it work, especially if you are spending a lot of time eating out. Would recommend this place to anyone. Laura was also good to communicate with, checking in was easy.

  • Located in the midst of a jungle, LeeAnne’s place is a special one. Comfortably equipped and furnished, our stay in this peaceful environment was a great one. She was a great host who checked on us and made sure we were taken care of. As indicated in her listing, at night, there is the slight issue of noise from the surrounding wildlife, but nothing that is insurmountable through the closing of windows and barely the need for earplugs.

    Oliver2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great stay, the location is beyond beautiful and the accommodation had everything we needed. LeeAnne responded very fast to any questions we had. We recommend this listing to anyone wanting a great spot near the best beaches of the Big Island!

  • This was a perfect spot for us to come back to after the day’s adventures. LeeAnne’s place is quiet and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great stay. Wish it could have been longer. Mahalo, LeeAnne!

    Sherene2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this beautiful spot for 11 nights while we explored the island and were in awe every time we pulled in to park! LeeAnne was very friendly, accommodating and easy to communicate with. The place had all the amenities we needed to assist in preparation for our daily adventures and provided a welcomed respite when we arrived back after a long day of exploring. The location of the rental felt very private and was exactly as described. If you read LeeAnne’s through description, there will be zero surprises- we loved it there more than we anticipated. In summation, it’s a perfect little spot, nestled away on the “hillside”, to enjoy a slice of tropical paradise. Fully recommend!

  • This place was even better than we expected- clean, comfortable, quiet, lovely lanai perfect for morning coffee and afternoon reading, many restaurants all within a mile, and a pool overlooking the ocean. Best yet, a great little coffee and smoothie place right next door. We loved that there was air conditioning, but never even needed to use it. The condo had a lovely breeze and wonderful ceiling fans. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Liz2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect! It's walking distance to downtown Kona. The room was away from road, so it was very quiet at night. The view was awesome! You can relax at pool side while watching the ocean. The owners were very friendly and response quickly and support us for our needs. The room was very cozy and perfect place to relax!

  • Jenna’s place was perfect for our stay. The apartment is stylish, comfortable and well equipped. The beach equipment is a really nice touch. The shared pool is great with a beautiful view of the sunset. It’s a nice easy way walk into the centre of kona. Would highly recommend.

    Ben2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is nice and clean one bedroom condominium located at center of Kona. Has nice kitchen and I was able to find anything I want to use. There is only one ac in the room but it was enough to cover hall unit and their ventilation system was good ! I never met the host but she was really kind and provided answers whenever I asked. Overall, it was very safe and sophisticate looking apartment and I totally satisfied my stay.

    Eun2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place right in the heart of Kona

    Dennis2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice place within walking distance to a few bars and restaurants. The pool by the ocean was great. Nice little lanai to sit out on with our coffees. I’d say we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

    Darren2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna was a great host and communication with her was pleasant and quick. She was very kind and let us check in a little early for our stay. The space was clean and beautiful and the pool right here is right on the beach, it was amazing! We loved our time here so much so, we wish we would have booked a few more days here before venturing on to the Hilo side of the island. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting Kona. Would definitely stay here again. Mahalo for your hospitality during our first time visiting the islands!

    Joanna2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect spot for a couple. The condo has been totally renovated and felt light and airy, we had everything we could possibly need. We are not fans of air-conditioning so even though it was provided, we appreciated the large, silent overhead fans! Lots of storage space for clothing & personal items as well as any groceries you buy. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the lanai off the bedroom and put the screen down most afternoons to give us shade. The pool is on the small side but most days we had it to ourselves and the view from your deck chair is stunning. We highly recommend Jenna's condo and hope to stay again soon!

A well appointed master bedroom in a private home on a beautifully landscaped acre, 3 miles from town. Cool elevation, private entry, private lanai and bath. Now with AC for warm summer nights. Free covered Parking. 2 night minimum. No deposit or cleaning fee, however Hawaii has an accomodation tax of 14.67% which we must collect on arrival. It is $10 per nite ($70 per week) and is payable in cash or check.
Conveniently close to town but in a country like setting. Good sized room with high ceiling, ocean view, great privacy, many types of tropical vegetation including fruits and flowers, 100% cotton linens, Keurig coffee maker, personal refrigerator, microwave, toaster. Beautiful artwork and textiles in room, small walk-in closet. The room can be accessed through the house or from the private outside lanai. Parking in left side of carport.
We are in a nice subdivision of all 1 acre lots, kind of a rural setting but pretty close to town and at a cool 1000 ft elevation. The ocean is 3-4 miles away but in view from your lanai. Some beaches are pretty close while other more expansive ones are just up the coast!
  • Awesome place with everything you can think of. Super warm welcoming by the hosts.

    Danuse2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mike & Gary’s place was so unbelievably beautiful. The outside ocean view, greenery in the backyard, and overall indoor space were more than we had even hoped for on this trip. Their house is easy to find, and it’s a couple miles from many restaurants, stores, etc. Mike & Gary were also super helpful in helping us find a restaurant for Valentine’s Day. Gary also gave us fresh oranges from their trees. We were very happy with the space and their hospitality. We will be staying here next time we visit the big island!

    Marleen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience at MIKE And GARY's place. We loved everything about it. Kim & Rob

    Robin2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Gary are very personable hosts, with lots of good tips on what to see and do. The location and view are beautiful, but a car is necessary to get around. Property is very clean and quiet and tastefully decorated. We would stay there again!

Greetings! Mid August of 2018, the Kilauea volcano stopped pouring hot molten lava over the Puna district and into the ocean. Spectacular couple months. It has been more than 25 years since Kona has been without volcanic smog or "vog." Blue skies and spectacular sunsets have returned to our little fishing village of Kailua Kona. ***Welcome to Hale Ho'okipa (House of Rest and Refreshment)!*** The unit is attached to the main house, yet fully private with its own entrance. It consists of one bedroom and one bathroom with shower. The bedroom and bathroom are on the same level and are kept cool with an air conditioning unit. The AC is adequate for use in the bedroom and bathroom. Just down stairs from the air conditioned bedroom is the living room area with pull out sofa bed, (linen on hand for sofa bed when needed) fully equipped kitchenette to include full size refrigerator, induction hot plate, microwave ~ and Kona coffee on hand. We suggest a stop at KTA or SACK AND SAVE for a few groceries and bottled drinking water before heading up Hualalai slopes to the house.*** The apartment, garden, and front lawn are all private for your use only. Grocery stores, restaurants, internet cafes, churches, open markets - 10 to 15 minutes away. We are located in a safe residential neighborhood. There is some road noise, though the large front lawn is normally a good buffer. Other sounds are the occasional rogue rooster, wild birds - cardinal, myna, and papaya. We are 5 to 10 minutes from favorite restaurants like: Splashers, Huggos on the Rocks, Big Island Grill, TK Noodle House, Umeke's, Fumi's Kitchen, Bongo Ben's, Lava Java, and charter fishing hole in the wall, Bite Me. Also a number of awesome wifi cafe's like: Daylight Mind, Kona Coffee and Tea, and Kona Haven. We are 10 minutes from the King Kamehameha Hotel where the best Luau (Hawaiian Feast) and Polynesian Review is held every week. This landmark hotel is also host to the annual Kona IronMan Triathlon World Championships, with several historical sights on the property.
  • We loved our stay with Trish! The place is in the perfect location and is very clean and cozy. Trish was very accommodating and quick to respond whenever we needed anything.

  • Federico was awesome! I lucked out and had the experience to myself, which gave me such a great personalized time. He knows so much about Milan, architecture, and the influences of history on architecture. As someone who loves learning and building on knowledge, this was super fascinating to me. He was patient with teaching me about perspective points and how to draw confidently in an architectural style. I can't recommend this enough.

  • Trish was an amazing host! She was very responsive, gave us plenty of local tips and made sure we were comfortable. This is a great accommodation that has all the amenities you will need. During our stay, there was a power outage in the area and within an hour, here came Trish with a lantern for us and texting us updates.. That is such a thoughtful action to take and it was greatly appreciated. Amazing hosts like this make this Air bnb community amazing! Thank you Trish, we hope that next time we visit the island we can once again stay here.

    Shannon2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Juliana and Federico are great hosts and you’ll learn a lot about Milan (as well as practise your drawing skills ) in an innovative and interesting way! They also gave me excellent recommendations for what to do next which were excellent tips! This tour was very fun! Recommended!!!

Just 10 minutes from Kona International Airport, this private studio is perfectly situated as the start for your Big Island adventure. The space is bright and airy with French doors that open to the lanai for an even more spacious feel. There is a closet, a private washer and dryer, basic amenities, a 65” smart TV, and USB outlets. There is a queen bed, a couch, and two twin floor mattresses. A queen aerobed available upon request.
  • The space was amazing! It was more spacious than I thought it was going to be from the pictures. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, the bathroom was well stocked, and everything was super clean. Laundry was an added bonus! Although we never got to take advantage of it, the outdoor seating looked very inviting. We would definitely stay again.

  • What a beautiful location for an Airbnb! High in the hills above Kailua with 180 degree views of the Kona coast and the vast Pacific. We were pleased that Kaia's studio was more spacios than we expected, with plenty of space for the bed, kitchen, and sitting area in the "great room" plus an in unit washer/dryer and a large bathroom. The apartment was sparkling clean, check in instructions were clear and communcation with Kaia was easy. A great place to stay!

    Rae2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and quaint space with views that make it easy to wake up after a long flight.

    Carr2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We could have stayed forever, that says it all! The apartment is nice, neat and large. Has everything you need for a longer stay and is very tastefully decorated. We found the indicated frog noises to be very pleasant and soothing to listen to nature. The view of the sea is beautiful as is the entire property and the area. We felt very comfortable and were welcomed with open arms. I can only recommend this accommodation and I am sure that we will come back one day;) Mahalo

    Sarah Janine2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kaia's place is gorgeous (as is the view) and is even larger than it seems from the pictures. Everything was immaculately clean and stylishly decorated and her communication was quick and helpful. The kitchenette had everything we needed and more. Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer. We highly recommend staying here!

    Andrew2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with a great view

    Michael2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a relaxing place, night a bit of chirping sound but we used to it not a big issue

    Sam2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our overnight stay at Kaia's and wish we had time to stay longer. She was very quick to respond to our questions and concerned and made our trip easy. We loved listening to the coqui frogs chirping at night (really charming!), but they may not be for everyone.

We wish to welcome you to come and stay in our 5 bedrooms large house at the end of a cul-de-sac in a friendly yet quiet neighborhood at a local village uphill. Our home has a vast ocean view and sunset, and a quiet walkway into the woods from our backyard and patio. The high altitude location helps the sea breeze to develop all day and night; yet, less than 10 minutes drives and you will be in Downtown Kona, or the renown Magic Sands Beach, or Kahaluu Beach Park for snorkeling amatuers.
We have two available private rooms with a queen bed each: - Room A: Newly renovated private shower and restroom, accommodate up to 2 guests. - Room B was also newly renovated with a private bathroom which accommodate 2 guests. Please aware that the bathroom is not attached to the bedroom.
We are in a working class neighborhood, where people know the value of hard work. The neighbors leave other people’s things alone. I left expensive tools outside for over a year and nothing happens
  • Very friendly hosts, taking care of their home. Also we liked getting so many local tips from John. A good stay!

    Lars2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

    Sue2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • John’s guest room was exactly what our traveling family needed. The room and on suite bathroom was clean and accommodated all of our needs. His home is located close to downtown kona and only a short ride to the airport. The unobstructed view of the sunset was also a plus. If you are looking for an attentive host family, you’ll enjoy your stay at John’s place.

    Kim2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • John and Anne were very friendly and offered to help me when I had questions about the area. The room is in a separate wing of the house so while there is activity in the rest of the house, it felt nice and private in the room. Everything was very clean, too.

Stay in the heart of Kona when you book this cozy renovated condo. It has everything needed for a great vacation: a condo pool & grills, a hot tub, a beach within 1/2mi, and less than 2 min walk to all the restaurants. In this condo you can wake up watching the sunrise over the condo's pool. You'll be in the center of it all and yet have your peace in this condo.
This private apartment with bath is newly renovated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is ideally located within 2 min walk from all the restaurants in Kona. The condo is a 10 min walk from Kamakahonu beach, where you can often swim with dolphins, or the Kona pier where the Ironman World Championship starts. It has a window wall with a partial pool view. Yet this complex is in a quiet and secluded area away from all the noise coming from Ali'i drive. We offer free parking and will provide a parking pass for our guests. The parking in the complex is on a first come first serve basis. There is plenty of parking on Kuakini Hwy by the entrance to the complex as well. We provide beach gear for our guests which includes: 2 beach towels, 2 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, 2 snorkel gear sets, 1 beach umbrella and 1 cooler.
Our favorite coffee shop is Lava Java which is within a block of the condo. It usually has a musician playing in the morning, and a beautiful lanai. We like to enjoy our Kona Coffee with delicious macadamia nut pancakes while watching whales or dolphins in the bay. Our favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner is Foster's Kitchen. We usually go on their amazing lanai to watch the sunset while enjoying a delicious cocktail!

I recommend everyone to stay at this airbnb, hope to be back again in the future! Mahalo and aloha.

  • Sarah and James' place was really cozy and nice. I had really great time in Hawaii because of the atmosphere, beach, fresh air, food and THIS PLACE. Their house was incredible, 'cause you can see beautiful beach and sunset when you're having dinner. And bathroom and bedroom were perfect. Also, Sarah and James sent us welcoming wine and they answered our tricky questions just in a second. :D Thank you for your hosting! See you!

  • This was the best AirBnB I've ever stayed in. It is sparkling clean, very spacious and offers everything you need - from kitchen amenities to beach towels. Sarah and James were very responsive and welcoming. I wish we could have stayed longer!!!

Aloha! Welcome to my private master bedroom. Queen bed, private bathroom, with an ocean view. The room is connected to my house but has a separate entrance. Shared backyard. 10 minute drive from downtown Kona close to shopping centers and 20 minutes from the airport. 1.5 miles from Safeway and Walmart. Cool elevation offers nice temperatures, although July-October can be a bit on the hot side. Fans provided but no air conditioning. Perfect base to explore everything Big Island has to offer.
The master bedroom comes equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. Plates and silverware are provided if you decide to bring food home. Coffee, beach towels, bath towels, toiletries, and Big Island Guidebook provided. Guests have private entry through the back yard. Please keep in mind, if you are traveling with a lot of luggage, it will require some effort to get it around the house. It is not paved and you will be going through the yard so you cannot just roll it right up to your room. Also, keep in mind that you are renting a room in a home and therefore domestic noises should be expected at respectable hours and levels. As much as I try to accommodate guests and ensure your leisure, this is also my place of residence and daily life occurrences should be expected. The backyard is shared with the owner and pets of the property. Guests must be okay with animals as there are two cats who currently lives on the property, an adolescent puppy, and an older 8 year old Mastiff mix. All of whom are super friendly. We will also be bringing chickens in that will have free roam of the yard in December 2019. I have two beach chairs, cooler, and beach umbrella available if needed. Space is good for couples or solo travelers. This is a very old Hawaiian neighborhood and houses are close together. Please be respectful of noise levels as walls are thin and windows are always kept open for that island breeze! This is a residential neighborhood so neighbors can be heard at times, dogs occasionally bark, and there are occasionally roosters in the area. Although I find this space very peaceful, those super sensitive to noise and those looking for complete solitude, may not.

  • Place was great. Very convenient. Parking wasn’t the best but it was worth it.

    Shealee2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, easy check in and perfect for those on the go who need a place to lay their heads at night and adventure during the day! The condo is cozy and outfitted with everything you need at a reasonable rate. The unit was quiet and close to many shops and restaurants. Thank you!

    Danielle2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Friendly service! Clean and kept. The host are easy to communicate with. And the added touch of the chocolate covered macadamia nuts was an added bonus. A perfect place to crash in Kona.

    Ryan2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet. Not real fancy, but it wasn't priced that way, either, so we're just fine with that. The pool was excellent. The location on Alii Drive was outstanding. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

    Brian2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for exploring Kona. Facilities in the Kona Islander are fantastic. Pool, spa, grill and laundry facilities all great. I had an issue finding parking at the hotel when returning late at night but there is a shopping complex next door where I was able to park for the night

    Michael2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place is right in the middle of everything happening in Kailua Kona! It is an older facility, and in some places shows its age, but that doesn't take away at all from the value, location, amenities and proximity to beaches, restaurants, bars and Kona activities. I would definitely stay again, and recommend it if you are looking for a fully equipped studio at a very reasonable price.

Aloha! Welcome to our newly updated ohana! We are 3 miles from downtown Kailua-Kona, close to several beaches, restaurants, shopping and only 8 miles from the airport. All taxes are included.
Our ground level private guest quarters is a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom with a queen pull-out bed in the living room. The kitchenette is stocked with a toaster oven, microwave, hot plate, along with everything to cook with. Guesthouse also has free WIFI, a flatscreen TV, DVD Player and Cable. Beach gear is also available for your use.
  • Ashlee's place is very cozy and sparkling clean. It's located on a quiet street, within a 10-minute drive from downtown Kona. The place has a nice little garden terrace where I enjoyed spending warm evenings with a can of local beer and a book. If you're looking for a nice comfy place away from the city buzz - look no further!

    Egor2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was, as expected, very clean and very nice! Everything we needed was on site. No matter whether it is an equipped kitchen, travel guide or things for the beach. We felt very comfortable. The location is great with a rental car, as you can park for free right outside the front door. Without a rental car, the apartment is a bit far from the center. We found the price-performance ratio great.

    Kristin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cozy apartment with outside seating. Parking available and beach equipment. Kona center can be reached in 10 minutes by car. Good starting point for exploring the island.

    Lara2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Ashlee's guesthouse. The place is located in a nice quiet street, a short drive away from the beach and main street. It was clean and had everything you could need including beach gear! Very thoughtful!

    Rebecca2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! This place is conveniently located near Walmart and Costco. Ashlee has done an amazing job of putting together this AirBnB. Not only does she have the kitchen essentials (pots, silverware, coffee maker, microwave, electric stove top, and mini fridge), she also has a ton of beach supplies. She has all the beach essentials (snorkeling gear, a beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach towels, sun screen, boogie boards)! There are also small treats in the Airbnb that Ashlee leaves for her guests! This is a really great AirBnB. It was very clean and has everything you need to make the most of your stay! I would definitely rent again if I came back to the Big Island :)

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute, cozy airbnb! Close to town. There is a tiny kitchen with all the appliances you may need. Comfy bedroom with plenty of storage, charging port, a sofa with a pull-out bed. Just a perfect place to stay!

  • This place is lovely. It is spotless & met all our needs. Excellent location in Kona as well.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Sanctuary’s place for one night. We loved the location—we were able to walk to dinner, drinks, breakfast, and a little convenience store. It’s also close to the farmer’s market. The space was well decorated, clean, and comfortable. The condo was quiet at night for sleeping. Other guests might want to know that there is very limited at the condo complex. We ended up street parking the car. This was not a problem for us because the location was so walkable, but if you have mobility issues or will be coming and going, then it may be an issue. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay again!!

    Katie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris is an excellent host- super great at responding to questions and has local tips and info. The space is cute and clean - two people fit perfectly but more would be a problem. If you were planing on cooking since it’s a condo, be aware that there is no stovetop or oven. It “forced” me to eat out all the time- poor me. The location is the best- in the complex the unit is next to the pool, near the lobby and the amazing vegetarian restaurant, and far enough from the street so you don’t hear the noise. We walked most of the week- lots of shops and restaurants and activities all within a half to one mile. We would love to return!

    Merry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a peefect location for visiting this area. Walking distance to everything you want and need. The community atmosphere just adds to the experience in this condo complex. The hosts are beautiful souls.
