Places to stay in Jamieson

Places to stay in Jamieson
Intimate for 2, comfortable for 10. The Paradise Retreat Lakehouse is situated on the banks of Lake Eildon in Jamieson. We have tried to fill the house with quality items to make your stay more homely. Great for water sports on Lake Eildon or skiing on Mt Buller which is just a short drive away. Can sleep up to 10 people in 4 bedrooms - 3 bedrooms with either king or queen beds and one bedroom with 4 singles. Just a quick word, the lake at the back of the property is currently empty.
The house has a good sized kitchen with all the utensils to you need to either make your own meals or enjoy the delights of the area. The house is equipped with 2 bathrooms and more importantly 2 toilets (on upstairs and one downstairs).
The Jamieson township is a short drive away from the Paradise Retreat Lakehouse. This means that you can have privacy with facilities not far away. Jamieson is on Lake Eildon and also at the junction of the Jamieson and Goulburn rivers. Jamieson is rich in gold mining history. Unfortunately, the lake at the back of the property is empty at the moment. We will let you know when it fills back up again. Still a lovely and relaxing part of Victoria.
  • Great place.. we will be back again.. Thank you nick..!

    Slobodan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nick’s place was perfect for our group of 7 over New Years. Clean and comfortable, with perfect views over the Victorian country. Great communication and handy tips too! Highly recommend

  • Lovely large house, and beautifully appointed bedrooms. The large deck was partially covered, so perfect for both sun and shade lovers! Lots of outdoor furniture for just chilling out and looking at the amazing view. Watching the stars at night was especially nice.

  • This is a great house, perfect for small or large groups. There were 8 of us in total but we weren't on top of each other. The living area is large but cosy with a fireplace and heaps of couches, chairs and armchairs. No doubt the deck in summer is a great spot to lounge in the warmer weather. The house was spotless, lovely sheets and towels, 2 bathrooms, kitchen fully stocked with cookware and all in a beautiful and peaceful location. Even though the lake was empty, the outlook is still magical.

    Corinne2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great Place

    Sam2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a lot more than what you see in the photos. We were there for two nights and didn't even leave the house. The deck overlooking the lake is amazing and we got to hand feed a friendly kookaburra in the morning. The fire place is pretty cosy and kept all of downstairs warm, kitchen is pretty much stack with everything you need for a great weekend away!

    Heshan2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay, beautiful location, the lake was dried up when we were there but still stunning views and a great place to relax. Plenty of space in the house, very well equipped, and fantastic for our daughter and dog having all that space to run and play in the garden out the front.

    Ellen2019-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great space for a large group. We had 6 adults, 3 kids and a baby and were very comfortable. There was no water at the rear of the property (which Nick had informed us of) when we stayed but still a great spot.

Historic Cottage in an idyllic setting. The cottage is only metres away from the iconic Howqua River. Unique features with absolute luxury. It is small and intimate, perfect for the romantic getaway or a fisherman's weekend.
  • We adored the cottage. Andrew has thought of everything, the fit out was amazing! We loved the cosy feel and the luxe use of the rustic space. Comfiest chairs (inside and out) ever. The only thing that could have improved our time is if we managed to catch any fish... I think we will just need to return and try again! Thanks again and congrats on such a lovely relaxing space.

  • We have stayed at this beautiful Airbnb twice in 4 years. Very special place in our hearts. Stunning property with an amazing log cabin. We sit by the river for hours watching the birds and ducks. We are just a little disappointed we couldn’t use the huge amazing spa as there is no water pressure.

    Lauren2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely part of the world to generously be sharing. Highly recommended

    Stephanie&Angus2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s place was outstanding, the location is so lovely being right on the river and the amenities were first class. We took our dogs who were more than welcome and they had an absolute ball. There were thoughtful touches all throughout the cottage that make for the most pleasant stay and Andrew was a lovely host. We would love to come back another time.

    Sophie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Miners Cottage was luxurious with a lovely big spa, wood fire, and high quality linen. This was our second visit and we really enjoyed our stay again. The setting is especially lovely as it’s beside the Howqua river.

    Rick2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning getaway. Your own private cottage (which is well appointed), amongst the trees and river. The Oak out the back is particularly spectacular. We will be back.

    Michael2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • My hubby myself and my two doggos had the best time ever! Loved everything about the place. The cottage has this rustic look with the most gorgeous cosy room inside with jacuzzi. You can simply enjoy a glass of wine lying in your bathtub and admire the beautiful scenery from the window. The sound of the river flowing, birds chirping and the stars in the sky at night is simply priceless. Thank you Andrew for being a wonderful host and maintaining this place so well. I would love to come back:)

  • Sometimes all you need is a little luxury, a little tranquillity, the sound of running water to revitalise the soul. This wonderfully renovated historic miners cottage is a real gem; perfect for summer and winter escapes. Absolutely loved our 3 nights at River Downs - and would recommend to anyone that enjoys getting back in touch with nature with a splash of comfort and luxury

Backing onto the gorgeous Jamieson River, this four-bedroom home is the perfect choice for a fun family vacation with friends or an intimate getaway for two. A great place to base yourself for fun by the Jamieson and Goulburn rivers, water sports and fishing on Lake Eildon or skiing at Mt Buller.
Take advantage of the massive back deck overlooking the rear lawn which leads all the way down to the Jamieson River. It has an ultra-spacious 10-person outdoor setting and 6-burner BBQ to make the most of the those lazy afternoons and evenings. Otherwise, you can take some drinks and marshmallows down the back steps to the fire pit (note - please check for fire ban days). Inside, there's a spacious, open-plan living/dining area with large, comfy couches. In the winter, the wood burner will keep you toasty warm and in summer, if you're not outside enjoying the river, the reverse-cycle split system airconditioner will keep things cool. The space can sleep up to 9 guests, bedroom 1 has a king bed and bedrooms 2 and 3 have queens. The kids bedroom has a double and a single bed as well as a cot. All beds are fitted with Sheridan sheets and soft Sheridan bath towels are also provided for our guests. There's something for everyone - plenty of books, a large TV and DVD, games and tubes for floating down the river! Located in the heart of the Jamieson township, you can walk two minutes up the road to access all the town's amenities including Deb's Jamieson Cafe, the Jamieson General Store & Newsagency and Jamieson's Courthouse Hotel. Just a short drive away, or a 30-minute walk, is the newly refurbished Jamieson Brewery & Grill. We can't lie, the house is not the prettiest one on the street, but once you step inside and out onto the back deck, then down to the river, we promise you won't be disappointed - it truly is a case of don’t judge a book by its cover! • A lovely, comfortable home to have a family holiday with our 3 adult children, their partners and our grandson. Just loved the location! The river virtually in our backyard. We enjoyed being surrounded by nature - the rosellas, kookaburras, ducks and even a platypus! The boys tried their luck at fishing... The girls enjoyed the short walk around the beautiful, tranquil little town of Jamieson. A great time had by all :)

    Sharyn2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at the house backing on to the river in the heart of Jamieson. Great to have the indoor and outdoor fires while star gazing into the clear country skies. Good pub and cafe around the corner, brewery was fun and local winery of one our favourites. Such a nice weekender a couple hours out of Melbourne.

  • Great place, great hosts. Spacious with excellent location.

    Arthur2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant communication from Jaime and Mark. True professionals!

    Louise2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had family break at this awesome house. The hosts had catered for everything you could want or need. My daughter was so happy with the change table, pram and abundance of toys. Lots of walks down to the beautiful Jamieson River. Market at the caravan park. Dinner at the Courthouse Pub and a long lazy lunch at the Jamieson Brewery along with purchases of their awesome beer to take home. The magnificent trees and the abundance of bird life not to mentioned the singing cicadas make this place special. So looking forward to another family trip to this wonderful house and location.

    Debbie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful and spacious retreat. A large, lush backyard that goes for days, this is the perfect pad to really get your relax on. The river runs right at the end of the property, and the generous patio is the perfect place to enjoy it from. Look forward to returning!

    Zaiga2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We would not hesitate to stay at With Jaime and Mark again. They were generous, great communicators and had a wonderful place to spend lazy days with children and amazing proximity to the main town and river (both very short walks). We will definitely be back.

    Lauren2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home! Has everything you would want for a relax full stay in a peaceful location. Was so beautiful waking up and sitting out on the decking and walking out the back gate to the river. Was an amazing stay!

  • Beautiful place, loved the outdoor fireplace on the deck. A little delayed getting into the house due to miscommunication, but other than that, beautiful house

    Kelly2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully furnished home with an amazing outdoor area complete with a modern family-sized bbq and large fireplace!

    Michael2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Hill View House. Was great for our 2 yr old daughter, lots of kids toys to play with. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces really added to the experience. Was okay for our dog, however, she nearly got out through gaps in the fence planks so not great for dogs who might try and escape! Loved the deck outside, great for BBQ's.

The colours of Autumn make this the perfect destination of choice to take in the foothills of the Victorian ski fields or amazing local gourmet food and wine. Margie was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to assist our every need. A wonderful destination only a short drive from Melbourne. Mel & Chris

  • This is a little Jamieson gem. Very nice quaint accommodation amongst three other cottages, about a 60 second walk to the winding river (can actually hear it trickle from the distance). Good bedding, great water pressure and hot water, all the cooking necessities, a great porch to "chat" with the kookaburras and other birds. Cozy fireplace to boot to keep you warm in the cold of the Victorian Alps.

    Roger2019-09-30T00:00:00Z

  • An incredible secret hideaway, perfect for those wanting to relax, watch the river go by with a nice glass of wine. Kate's place is the perfect spot for a romantic weekend away! The shack is huge and extremely comfortable with a super soft bed. We loved every minute we spent there and were sad to leave back to the real world. Would recommend for anyone wanting to relax and spend some quality time with each other!

My place is close to Mount Buller, Lake Eildon, Victorian High Country. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
Black Horse Park is an historic property first settled in the 1850s by George and Arthur Desmond and located on 20 acres of gently undulating pasture in the prestigious Boorolite Valley of the Victorian High Country. Enriched with age old European Oaks, Elms, Poplars,Liquid Ambers' and Pin Oaks, the property is also close to Mansfield State Forest. With the property established in the 1850's, the Black Horse Park Homestead is currently undergoing extensive renovations to restore its rich and fascinating history and is also available for holiday accommodation. *We also have the recently renovated Pin Oak Chapel moved to Black Horse Park in the 1940s and originally used for stabling the horses and the Elm Cabin available for accommodation*( Please feel free to ask for more details ) The Pioneer Hut is the original kitchen that was used back in the 1850s for the Desmond family who were the founders of the property and were amongst the first Europeans to settle in the district. The building has been tastefully renovated to retain the historic feel of a bygone era and will give all who stay here a totally unique experience. A rustic stone and cast iron fireplace is the centre piece of the building and will ensure you are kept you warm and cosy. The Pioneers Hut is fully self contained and comes equipped with a convection oven / grill / microwave oven, refrigerator, all cooking dishes, utensils, crockery, cutlery etc, 32 inch flat screen TV / DVD player, heater, electric blanket, all linen, pillows, towels and has a BBQ and outside fireplace as well. We also include for your convenience Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, juice, eggs and other breakfast condiments. With all the modern day creature comforts at your disposal and still retaining the unique old world charm you are sure to enjoy your time in this gorgeous hut. Black Horse Park is centrally and ideally located; 15 mins to Mansfield township 20 mins to Mt Buller 10 mins to Goughs Bay 15 mins to Macs Cove, Howqua Inlet and Jamieson. While in the high country why not pack a picnic lunch and take a leisurely drive to the King Valley wine region, stopping at Powers Lookout along the way, it's simply breathtaking. When you arrive at Whitfield (approx. 45 mins.) you're biggest decision will be which winery to go to, there's about ten in the area...... Oh just try them all! Black Horse Park is an all year round holiday location. The area caters for: Snow skiing / snowboarding at Mt Buller, fishing / swimming at the Delatite River (just 2mins away), horse riding in Mansfield State Forest / Victorian High Country, mountain biking / cycling at the rail trail and Mt Buller ( We have bikes and helmets available for hire) four wheel driving and exploring, golf at Mansfield Golf Club or just enjoy a gourmet platter and a glass of fine local wine at one of the local wineries. Lake Eildon is only 10 minutes away so why not bring your boat, we have heaps of room to park it safely. Goughs Bay has three great concrete ramps so you can always access the lake no matter what the water level is. Besides all the usual water sport activities you should try the bars / restaurants on the waters edge, just pull up, tie up and enjoy. These are just a few of the wonderful activities on offer. If you would like to bring you're horse and ride the vast expanses of the Victorian High Country, it's on our doorstep, with endless tracks to ride you'll be amazed at the breathtaking scenery and awesome riding trails. We have excellent horse friendly paddocks and four post and rail yards with water and washing facilities and plenty of room to park the float. You don't even have to bring your own hay as we have plenty of good quality grass hay here you can buy at a very reasonable price. Your horse can stay for $10 per night or if you are unable to bring one don't worry we can arrange local horses and guides for you. During your stay at Black Horse Park, feel free to wander the property, fish for Red Fin, Rainbow trout and Yabbies or even have a swim in our large clean dam, sip on a glass of you're favourite wine, read a book or just have an afternoon nap. We hope to hear from you soon. Best Regards Rob and Helen Hart
A very quiet and peaceful rural setting to chill out and relax, or you can be very adventurous and participate in the many activities the area has to offer.
  • What a stylish and cozy cottage surrounded by amazing views of the beautiful Victorian high country! We loved the fire place inside the old charming hut (especially the crackling sound of fire at night) and the views of the garden that surrounds the entire place. The outdoor BBQ worked really well - we had an awesome time cooking and eating our own meal while enjoying the sunset. Rob's two border collie doggies were way too cute/friendly and we looked forward to their visits everyday. Rob is a great host who made us feel comfortable from the very first moment we met him. The hut is close to many scenic spots such as Lake Eildon, Mt Buller and the Victorian rail trail. We highly recommend this place to couples who are looking for a quiet and romantic getaway!

  • A lovely, secluded, character-full cabin, kitted out with all mod cons. Excellent canine welcoming committee. Great location for various activities, and close enough to the surprisingly buzzy town of Mansfield for a nice meal, a coffee and cake, or a craft beer.

  • One of my favourite experiences on airbnb. The location and this little home are beautiful. The home was tidy and incredibly comfortable and warm. Close to Mt Buller (where we snowboarded) and close to Mansfield. We loved the little touches of flowers and the visits from the dogs and cat. Highly recommend staying here!

  • Pete's property was comfortable, warm, unique and in such a picturesque location. The cottage had lots of sweet touches. We couldn't ask for more! Being so close to Mt Stirling, Mt Buller was exceptional. Native birds just in front of the patio and deer in the morning. Wilderness all around. What a treat! Pete checked in on us. Comms were excellent. Definitely will be back again to this getaway spot.

    Daniele2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay. Looking through the window upstairs from the bed, you can see the moon rise above the trees. The sun rises just there too that gently bathes you in the morning light. Clean and well presented. Full of character, we'll definitely try to stay here again.

  • You would not guess the quirky well thought out touches this place has. We loved our stay at the loft and the comfy retro chairs to watch tv in after a hard day’s riding! A lovely place to self cater- well equipped and not far from Buller and Mansfield. Thanks Pete!

    Lachlan2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed four nights mid-week in the chapel. Nicely converted space, decked out with the amenities you need for a comfortable getaway. The separate bathtub/bathroom area is a nice touch, and the fireplace adds to the cosiness of the place and provided good heat for cold mornings and evenings. There is a small outdoor area at the back with a lot of sun in the morning. Everything was very clean and William was super quick at responding to any queries. Location is good, close to Cathedral ranges and Lake Eildon. The bakery across the street is very lovely. For groceries, Alexandra is only a 10 min drive away. The Chapel is perfect for couples or solo travellers. Will definitely come back.

  • We had a great stay at Will’s place. The renovated chapel was amazing and felt so spacious. We brought our dog Frankie along too which was great. We enjoyed the bath tub and fire place. The bakery across the road had delicious goodies. We had dinner at Yarck hotel which had yummy pub meals. Just to note there is no stove top but they have a BBQ. Would recommend!

Incredibly comfortable beds and linen, well stocked fridge and cupboards with generous little hamper on arrival - David even lit the fire so it really was a warm welcome. Howes Creek Town Hall is a historic Mechanics Institute, 15 Minutes from Mansfield, 5 minutes from Goughs Bay (Lake Eildon) and 45 minutes from the top of Mt Buller. The B&B has a separate entrance, with a loft bedroom and open plan kitchenette and living room. Our property is surrounded by hundreds of picturesque acres of farmland, hills and mountains. It is a still, breath of fresh air away from hectic city life. Gaze at the stars as you drift off to sleep and wake up and listen to the birds.
We are a young family who strive towards balanced work/ life commitments and who are striving towards a more self sustaining lifestyle. We have a large veggie garden, bake our own bread and are learning the art of preserving. There are fantastic local restaurants and great outdoor recreation activities close at hand (mountain biking, skiing, boating, paddling, hiking, rail trail or just enjoying the local surrounds)
Howes Creek farm is a lovely little farm just down the road that serves simple food and wine. They are doing dinners on a Friday night but be sure to book.
  • Suzanne and Paul’s place was lovely. They were communicative hosts and we had all the info needed. The apartment was clean and well equipped. As the host’s house shares a wall with the apartment, I did get woken up by the sound of them walking up/down the stairs in the morning so if you’re a sensitive sleeper (I am) then I’d suggest earplugs!

  • We didn’t end up staying at Dilin’s place due to fire warnings in neighbouring regions. Even though the fire warnings did not directly affect the area, Dilin was really understanding and gave us thorough advice. We decided to cancel and come another time and Dilin provided us with a full refund promptly (with only a day’s notice). We are really grateful and hope we’ll be able to come and stay soon.

  • Leith, was a great communicator and answered any queries we had, very promptly. What a great place Jamieson is, and the house and location, was just fantastic. The River sounds were lovely and being just steps away from the house we swam in it often. Just loved the pizza oven, and having the wood cut and ready to go.. it was easy to fire up and eat a few hours later with a wine/beer in hand. Highly recommend this place and I ‘m sure the next guests will enjoy it just as much as we did.

My place is close to The Victorian High Country and Mt.Buller, wineries, historic gold mining towns and Lake Eildon. . You’ll love my place because of the location, the people, the ambiance, the outdoors space, and local activities.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and groups up to 24 people.
Our little country town and the Jamieson valley are the most picturesque place you'll find anywhere. A perfect place to unwind and relax!
Jamieson is sounded by beautiful scenery, lovely short drives to great little picnic or swimming spots, historic towns, museum, gallery, cafe, restaurant and hotels.

  • It is a lovely place. Beautiful scenery and can see birds and kangaroos just in front of the porch just around sunrise. Marion is a wonderful host. She even lend us winter clothings as we did not bring the correct ones to go up Mount Buller.

    Jennifer2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from our stay on this beautiful farm. We loved everything about our stay: the friendly welcome, the cosy cottage with lovely views, feeding and brushing the animals, sitting around the fire every night, the play area and fairy area for kids, the beautiful scenery with abundant wildlife and a good location for a day trip to Mount Buller. We would highly recommend this stay for families with children who love nature, animals and a tranquil setting.

    Liesl2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Marion's place is very lovely, comfortable and clean. The surroundings are peaceful and full of animals and birds, which is really nice to watch. Marion has been an amazing host with quick responses, great tips on local activities and she also promptly acts on guest's requirements. (I have noticed that the dvd player in our cabin wasn't working and Marion replaced it on the same day). I would recommend Marion's place to everyone.

Taylor Bay Country Club is set on 67 Acres of Classic High Country in Country Victoria’s North East. Graig’s Hut has the following amenities. -kitchen -dining and lounge rooms -toilet - shower You must bring your own linen and towels. Cabins are pet friendly. The cabin has a shared BBQ area and fire pit. Pricing is per person and not per cabin. If you are considering visiting Mt Buller we are still over 100kms from there
The guests have access to a BBQ Area with a fire pit. Use of the fitness centre and fishing on the Dam area
Taylor Bay Country Club is located 4 kms from the township of Eildon and 1 km from the Lake which provides water skiing, fishing and house boating
  • I enjoyed a two-week respite at Graig's Cabin at the Taylor Bay Country Club in the heat of a Victorian summer. This is a great deal for both short and longer stays. It is well-situated in a quiet valley next to Lake Eildon and the surrounding national and state parks. So, whether you are interested in hunting, fishing, being out on the water, tearing up the backwoods in your ute or motorbike or, like me, hiking and birding along the many trails and tracks, this place is perfectly located as a jumping off point to all of the above. The cabin is as advertised and funky (in a good way): spacious and has all that you need for a laid-back self-catered experience at a great rate. The air-conditioning was welcome as Victoria temperatures soared into the high 30s and low 40s when I visited. There is one large bedroom or dormitory with two double beds and three bunks. The kitchen and living room are open and lend themselves to family and group social time. There is a large-screen TV with a satellite dish and DVD player. The shower has good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Just bear in mind, everything is pretty much off the grid: cisterns and solar, so being mindful of energy consumption is key. The kitchen has a basic set-up with ample utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is no oven or stove. However, there is a microwave, hot plate, kettle and a few other appliances to accommodate your basic cooking needs as well as a BBQ grill up the hill under a shelter. If you don't want to cook, Eildon is just 5 minutes' drive and there is the Eildon Bakery and Cafe, a good pizza place next door and a good fish and chips place next to that. Geoff was very communicative, easy-going and, when he was called away and could not meet me in person on arrival, touched base via email and made sure I had everything I needed. He lives on the premises just 50 metres up the hill and kindly checked in periodically, during the heat especially, to make sure I had not over-cooked. Taylor Bay Country Club is quite the operation and Geoff has been busy building out accommodations with another cabin next to Graig's as well as rooms and space in the larger house. The fitness centre is well-equipped for those inclined and he is adding more storage units on other parts of the property as there is quite a demand for out-of-towners to keep their boats and other gear. All in all a nice getaway!

    Douglas2019-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • WOW..!! What an amazing place. Geoff was a fantastic host, communication was prompt and spot on, greeted with a smile on arrival, explained the ins and outs and made sure we felt very welcome. • What a wonderful house in a fantastic location. We spent the Easter long weekend here and our 2 young kids and our 11 year old fur baby had the most magical time. The house is super pet friendly and the yard has more than enough room for the kids to run about and play kick to kick. We spent most of the time out exploring the area, but it was a lovely place to come home to each night. We really felt at home.

    Lucas2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great position to access lake, very well equipped clean house with effective AC. Fabulous family stay.

  • Beautiful location. Great house with all mod cons. Excellent host and would definitely recommend to future visitors to the area. Would definitely stay there again.

    David2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed five nights over Easter...perfect for our requirements (two couples and dogs). The front decking was fabulous and well used as the internal living space is small. Appreciated the outdoor and indoor heating for the colder nights! Lots of cleaning items and tools for cleaning provided for your use. Friends did comment that the front room bed was a little uncomfortable and squeaky but maybe we are just getting old!

The setting is gorgeous and it has a really great swimming hole. Great place to take our dog, he loved it just as much as us. We would stay again in a heart beat.

  • We couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot for a chilled out weekend getaway. We loved the location and space, and really enjoyed Pete and Deb's hospitality and thoughtful touches. We can't wait to come back!

    Jack2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lot of fun staying here! Very unique place.

    Daniel2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for me at the bottom of the mountain and super close to local communities. Loved the studio with its little extras. The balcony was great for a home cooked breakfast. Will stay again, highly recommend. Pete was always available for any questions about the area or just for good old chat.

    Craig2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I would certainly recommend staying at Pete’s place. From the outset, the communication was quick. The location was excellent being just out of Mt. Buller. The place itself was clean and tidy and well set out with everything you need, as evidenced in the photos. Pete gives plenty of advice on things to do in the area.

    Peter2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable. Impressed with how much effort Pete has made to make the places part of the environment.

    Linda2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful place! The lovely renovated kitchen & bathroom was well equipped, with thoughtful touches like shampoo/conditioner, moisturizer ample dishwashing detergent etc. The entire space was peaceful and relaxing; the big glass panels and windows brings you out into the outdoors, plus there was a cute little balcony, in which parrots and a cockatoo visited daily:) The whole place was truly such a treat! Loved it! Peter was also an attentive host. One piece of advice though (& nothing to do with Peter’s lovely country studio): ensure you have Telstra up in this area, as I had zero service with Optus bar SOS! (My gf, however, who arrived a day after had full service with her Telstra) . It made it tricky for me to stay in contact with my biking friends to make final plans, & my family. I also had sporadic service on Mt Buller too when mountain biking, prompting me to finally switch over to Telstra!

  • We went for our honeymoon to Kevington and we LOVED our stay there! Great coffee provided. Thoughtful flowers and note to us. Homemade local jam and berry coulis was given to us and we enjoyed it so much! We had fun palavering on parts of the river. We loved fishing and swimming. We loved the nature! We loved how homely it was. Communication was amazing and there’s just such a precessions there. Thankyou very much!

  • Just what we were looking for as a weekend escape. Beautiful location, lovely cosy cottage. Very relaxing on the riverbank, caught some trout as well. We will definitely be visiting again.

  • You really couldn't want for anything here. They've thought of everything you could possibly need! Samantha and Kyle's place is stunning and the most gorgeous retreat for a weekend away or better still a whole week if you can! My husband and I and our dogs had a fabulous four night stay over Cup Weekend with a mixture of walks, fishing, reading books by the river at the bottom of the garden, browsing the markets in the nearby towns and bingeing on Netflix. Nodding off to sleep with the sound of the river and waking up to beautiful native birdsong was just amazing. We'll be back!

    Jane2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay, rest and unwind. Such a peaceful bush setting without having to go without any creature comforts, really comfortable and well appointed. We will be back!

  • Beautiful place in a great location with a lovely host. Place was not just very clean, but beautiful (better than the pictures). Good space for little kids, claw foot tub and gas-fireplace for the cold evenings. Big dining table and the kitchenette was well stocked with cutlery and plates, etc. great for friends and board games. What’s not to like?

  • The Rectory was perfect for our family (including teenager and pooch) during our recent 4 night stay. We absolutely loved the charm and history of the church building. We enjoyed walks along the Great Victorian Rail Trail, exploring local townships, lots of reading and board games and ate our weight in cherries from the local cherry farm. Buck's Bakery was ideal for the morning paper and daily treat and Alexandra very handy for extra provisions and great Thai food. Overall delightful accommodation and host.

Thelma Stuart's cottage is a quaint little 2 bedroom house in the heart of Jamieson that has been described as quirky, cosy and intimate. There's 2 bedrooms, 1 with queen bed and the other with bunks (double on the bottom and single on the top). Fireplace & A/C in lounge. Thers's an all weather outdoor entertaining area with potbelly stove & oven. The cafe is a 25 sec walk away, the general store about 50 sec and the pub about 90 sec. I am happy to answer any questions via sms or email.
This property changed hands in Jan 2020 and was previously listed here on air b&b for the past 8 - 10 years (hence no reviews or ratings yet). There's firewood and firelighters for the fire places, multiple tea & coffee varieties, uht milk in the fridge, pantry condiments, split system, T.V., DVD player, Dvd's, books, washing machine, dryer, microwave, kettle, toaster, utensils, fresh linen, towels & most importantly serenity.
A few highlights of the Jamieson township are : Deb's cafe (just across the road from cottage) , the Jamieson river, the Jamieson Brewery & Grill, the general store, the Courthouse Hotel, Kevington Hotel (11km's from Jamieson) & the old Jamieson courthouse which now has been set up by the historical society as a museum (well worth a look, but check their opening times on the chalk board out the front).
  • This little gem is everything we wanted in a cosy, quaint country getaway. The fireplaces and outdoor area were fantastic to sit by with a good book and a glass of wine. A hot shower (with amazing water pressure) was fantastic after a day exploring the local trails, or walking to the Jamieson Brewery. We even tried our hand at baking bread in the outdoor fire stove and our little dog loved exploring the garden. Chris is a fantastic host and we can't recommend this place enough, we will definitely be back!

  • Easy going and flexible. We were travelling with a 5 week old baby and arrived early to the location. Geoff was kind enough to allow us to arrive early. This was VERY much appreciated.

  • The cabins are very nice and comfortable and I loved that we could take our dogs. Geoff was a great host, showed us around the property and his home and made us feel comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

    Naomi2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Geoff’s Taylor Bay Country Club is a very impressive facility. Set right up on a hill, the views in every direction are stunning, and the landscape is exceptional. The accommodation is really unique & very comfortable. Geoff had a welcome fire burning & my cold dog & I were very grateful for that. I loved the rustic touches like the TV cabinet made with repurposed materials. Geoff says he watches The Block & that is very evident from the excellent craftsmanship & creativity to be found in the work he has done. Geoff took us on a tour of the property & the ‘big house’ & I was very impressed. We were greeted on awakening in the morning by a lovely King Parrot. Will definitely try to return to this property & very excited to see what Geoff will create next..!!

This little house is perfect for two, guests tell me the queen bed is very comfy! The sofa bed is roomy enough for one extra or a couple of kids ($20 per extra person) The house is tucked up in my backyard, it's private, but we'll be in our own home nearby for anything you may require. The house does not have an airconditioner, just a pedestal fan.
The one bedroom has the comfy queen bed, bedside tables and lamps, side table and mirror. The main room offers you a double sofa, big tv, heater, kitchenette with sink, fridge, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and microwave. The spacious bathroom has a heated towel rail, large shower, toilet and vanity. A new addition has just been completed - you now have your own deck with bbq!
The neighborhood is quiet, however it is residential therefore you may hear neighbours lives...i.e. backyard games or music.
