Our cleaner has completed the infection control course for COVID-19 by the Department of Health to ensure thorough cleaning. 128 Murray is located in the very centre of Hobart's CBD within walking distance to all major attractions. This unique, spacious, fully contained, three bedroom apartment is perfect for families or groups travelling to experience Hobart.
A large three bedroom apartment with an open plan living room, dining room and kitchen. All the bedrooms are generous in size. The two main bedrooms have plenty of space. The third bedroom has a single bed with a single trundle bed and its own flat screen TV and games console. The lounge room has a PlayStation 4 and Netflix.
Less than 2 minutes walk and you shall be in the center of the shopping area - Cat & Fiddle Arcade, Centrepoint Shopping Centre and The Mall are all at your finger tips. Also less than a minutes walk away are some of our favourite cafes including Small Fry, Raspberry Fool and The Pumphouse. If you tend to be a night owl and enjoy a late night drink or dance floor action you are a few minutes walk from Ivory Lounge Bar, The Grand Poobah and Mobius...be warned these places don't get going until after midnight - but don't get there too late or there could be a line up to get in!

    1 Sandy Bay Road, Hobart. You couldn't ask for a better location. This is a spacious furnished and equipped apartment with copious amounts of natural light, comfortably sleeps 2 people in a Queen Bed. (Message me if you want an earlier check-in or a later check-out, I'll try my best to accommodate). So, if you (and your partner) want the convenience of a central location, where fantastic waterfront restaurants serving local fish and produce are within 2 minutes walk, you've found your second home. Hobart is a small city, so why not enjoy the culture and festivities that it has to offer, including the 2 minute walk to the MONA ferry and Port Arthur ferry and Bruny Island ferry. Or you could walk across the park to Salamanca market, historic Battery Point around the corner (5 mins) or a lovely stroll down to Sandy Bay village (10 mins), or if you keep on going, head down to Lower Sandy Bay and enjoy the beach and playground (25 mins). Or you could walk up to North Hobart (20 mins) to enjoy the mix of ethnic cultures and food, including Indian, Japanese, Thai and of course, Italian! And if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, rent a car from one of the 4 different car rental agencies which are 2 minutes walk from the apartment and take a drive down to the Huon Valley, or up to Mt. Field National Park or even over to the East Coast. A day trip to one of these destinations will surely make you look forward to coming home to your relaxing and spacious abode.
    This central location is fantastic. It is close to the CBD and parks, historic sites and the market life of Salamanca. And if you really enjoy fish or seafood, head down to the various seafood eateries along the waterside. You also have the convenience of renting a car from one of the 4 car rental agents in the next few streets, to be able to explore the local sites scattered around Hobart and beyond. By the way, there is no parking for cars in the building, but there is plenty of street parking alternatives.

And although there is no stove or microwave, the kitchen has a range of other tools to cook with if need be, and just about anything else you need. Would happily stay again.

  • Don’t look any further and book this hostel - just a wonderful house with a great energy! Your host Anthony will do anything to make your stay memorable and he’s super engaged in what he’s doing! We really enjoyed the double room, the bed is very comfortable and there are tons of bathrooms and showers throughout the house. Kitchen is great and has everything you need and it’s all very close to the center area (Salamanca) and the Harbour (you basically walk down the stairs around the corner). Come here and ENJOY!

Anthony is super friendly and comprehensive ; we arrived really early in Hobart after a 6am flight from Sydney and he let us sleep for a few hours in the reception room since it was too early for checking in. We got recommendations on how to go to the MONA and also plenty of advices on where to go for food near the hostel. The hostel is also ideally located : very pleasant neighbourhood, lots of cafes and restaurants around and super close to the pier, it was perfect ! Thanks again !

    Altamont House is located in a wonderfully central part of Hobart. Only 10-15 minutes walk to the CBD of Hobart and a further 10 minutes to the waterfront and Salamanca. Comfortably accommodates 4 adults and is a fantastic base to explore Hobart.
    You will enjoy staying in one of Hobart's historical homes close to the centre of Hobart but in a quiet location. Altamont House was constructed around 1854 and is heritage listed. The accommodation is on the ground level of our family home. The property comfortably accommodates 4 people although there is an additional foldaway bed available for a 5th guest (no additional charge for a child under the age of 3). The Luxury room is a spacious room and includes a writing desk and hans wegner designer chair. along with a french style reading chair with ottoman. The Classic room is furnished with antique items. Please advise if this room is required. Both rooms have comfortable queen size beds with electric blankets fitted. For those travelling with young children we also offer a portacot and highchair along with a selection of toys and puzzles at no additional cost. The luxurious bathroom with exposed sandstone walls is completed by a freestanding bath for you to relax in along with a large separate shower. Next to the bathroom is a utility room which has a front loading washing machine and also a separate sink to do any washing up if needed. There is a wood heater located in the living room which warms the whole space. This area also has a heat pump. The lounge area has a 42 inch smart tv with access to Netflix plus a DVD player, there are a selection of DVD's for you to choose from. PLEASE NOTE: The accommodation does not have a kitchen (no cooking facilities), but you will find a toaster, microwave, kettle and small fridge, along with a Nespresso coffee machine for that caffeine hit before a day of sight seeing. There are many cafes and restaurants close by. Continental breakfast provisions are supplied. This includes fresh sour dough bread, local spreads, yoghurt, seasonal fruit, cereal and juice, along with tea and coffee.
    Whilst enjoying your stay with us you will appreciate being close to all that the city of Hobart has to offer. The North Hobart restaurant strip is approximately a 10-15 minute walk and here you will find a variety of dining options to choose from. Alternatively you can make your way in the other direction to experience Salamanca and the dock area, 15-20 minutes walking time. If travelling with young children there are some fantastic parks to explore. A favourite is the 'train park". Located on the corner of Hill and Warwick Streets. On Sunday mornings it is only a short stroll to the Farmgate market in Bathurst Street where you will find loads of sweet and savoury treats and other local produce The guide book highlights some of the many cafes and restaurants close by

  • Unfortunately, I didn't stay long enough to enjoy the full suite of delights of Frank's place... private outdoor bath, selection of books, coffee machine and outside dining. I appreciated the modern and quirky touches set in an older cottage. For example, the bathroom had features that I might expect in a higher-end hotel. The cottage was small yet a long way off being cramped. I liked being able to watch the world go by out the front while also being able to remove myself from the hustle of traffic by stepping into the back garden. All up, my time at your home was pleasant, relaxed and delightfully comfortable.

    Recently renovated by us (two young Architects), our late 1820's sandstone Barn is a truly unique accommodation experience. Our award winning conversion, incorporates light and a refined material palette to accentuate the historic building fabric. Our Barn is located in Hobart's CBD just mere minutes from city's major cultural and gastronomic attractions including the historic precincts of Salamanca + Battery Point. Wake up to city views, relax over a latte at Betsy, pick up a picnic lunch from Pigeon Hole Bakers and cap it all off with a perfectly plated dinner at Aloft! As designers our approach to the Barn has always been to keep as much of the (incredibly beautiful and richly textured) existing building fabric as possible. The original sandstone walls are exposed both internally and externally. The timber shingled roof and existing beams contrast with the new kitchen and bathroom insertion. The Barn is light and open, yet simultaneously cosy.

Set up to feel like our own personal, special space straight away, bottle of champagne on arrival!Convenient location, we were able to walk to anywhere we needed. Hosts were very attentive, including giving us detailed recommendations for visiting Hobart. For such a premium host, Wifi was a bit disappointing as we struggled to watch a movie online, and the pantry was a bit bare compared to what we had experienced in other airbnbs on our trip (small things like tea or coffee), but obviously there’s a lot more emphasis on eating out in the capital! All in all, we loved the unique design and was a wonderful experience to end our trip with.

  • We had a great stay at Liz and Alex’s. It was beautifully designed. We loved the large glass door that could pivot on its hinges out onto the courtyard. Whilst its in the heart of Hobart it felt like we were miles away from town. It has the benefits of convenience paired with being quiet and tranquil. Only thing I’d say is just the lighting at night isn’t that bright for cooking. Perfect for a couple’s getaway! 👌

    Stay @ Trinity Hill Apartments - a heritage listed house within the best inner city residential area! Easy walking distance to all central Hobart attractions, 20 mins at most.     Positioned on the ground floor of a newly refurbished home, the apartment has a private entrance and is fully self contained with a two large bedrooms. A lounge has a comfy couch and TV, dining table and bay window seat and there is a fully equipped kitchen with gas hot plates, oven, dishwasher and Nespresso pod coffee machine. The bathroom is spacious with a shower over a spa bath and a washing machine. The main bedroom has french doors that open on to a private sandstone walled courtyard that is fully enclosed and has BBQ facilities. The house was built circa 1840 using convict made bricks and sandstone. It is listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register. There is a free dedicated off street parking space for the apartment.
    Trinity Hill is a lovely inner city residential area with Trinity Hill Church at its apex. Paternoster Row has many heritage listed houses and is ideally located within the city limits but in a quaint neighbourhood. - Salamanca Place is a 20 minute walk where you can find the renowned Salamanca Market every Saturday morning, along with cafes, restaurants, night life, galleries and craft shops. Princess Wharf No 1 is there which hosts events throughout the year such as the Taste of Tasmania and DARK MOFO winter feast. - You could walk down to the Hobart Waterfront (17 mins) where you can find great fish and chips or take the ferries to MONA and Peppermint Bay. - Why not stroll to the Farm Gate Market on a Sunday morning (7 mins) where you can meet the local farmers and purchase some fantastic Tasmanian produce. - 8 mins walk in the other direction is the North Hobart Restaurant Precinct with an eclectic selection of restaurants, bars and shops. - Three micro breweries just around the corner - A well-equipped supermarket is only 5 mins walk.

    The house is a great space both indoors and out, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge where you can relax and enjoy a night in or a good book, or the outdoors in your own private courtyard. A wonderful space for a single person or a couple in a great neighbourhood.
    You have Hobart's best attractions right on your doorstep in an historic, safe and wonderful neighbourhood. Some great coffee shops and restaurants within 200 metres including D'Angelo Italian Restaurant and Jackman and McRoss Bakery. Across the road is Arthurs Circus Village Green. Within an easy five minute stroll you'll find Salamanca with its art and craft, restaurants, bars and the waterfront pier for the MONA ferry.
  • A sweet little cottage with all the modern amenities for both people who just want a lovely cup of coffee in the morning or those who wish to stay in and self cater. The interior is simple and warm and stylish and the bed very comfortable. It is in the perfect position in Battery Point with lots of places to eat breakfast and dinner and has the feel of being in a village. It is also just a short stroll downhill to the Salamanca Market and a lovely pub called Preachers. Locally up the hill there is a fantastic bakery/cafe, an Italian, Thai fusion, Japanese all good and a couple of other places we didn’t each at. A really enjoyable stay.

    You will love to stay in the quaint Federation cottage located in our garden. The 2 room cottage is completely self-contained, with a modern fully equipped kitchen/dining room, a bedroom with a queen sized bed, wardrobe and TV, and a lovely ensuite bathroom. There is an outside deck for enjoying our beautiful garden and guests are welcome to graze on whatever fruit is in season. We love to share our beautiful city with travellers, just as we love travelling ourselves .
    The 100-year-old garden cottage is located in the garden behind our house and has been a spare bedroom/ sleep out for most of that time, originally built by the family who lived here then, to house a member of the family returning injured from WW1. If you are interested in the history of the property just ask Iain. The bedroom has a queen bed with comfortable cotton and linen sheets and quilt. The cottage has WIFI, a Smart TV and air-conditioner. There are instruction booklets in the Cottage Manual (blue folder). The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, microwave, fridge and all the necessary appliances and utensils for cooking a great meal. There is street parking only, in a quiet one-way street with no restrictions. Our property is one of the early Federation houses, which sits on half an acre of rambling gardens in Providence Valley in West Hobart. NOTE - Whilst check-out is 10am we are happy to be flexible when we can, depending on the subsequent booking. If possible please let us know when you expect to leave.
    We are situated on the edge of North Hobart and West Hobart which are the historical inner city suburbs of Hobart. It is a very friendly and relaxed area. Providence Cafe at the end of our street is a great place for coffee or breakfast. You can walk to the North Hobart restaurant strip in less than 10 minutes; where there are many great cafes and restaurants; as well as the State Cinema, a great boutique cinema and bookshop; and gift shops and art galleries. The Hill Street (IGA) Grocer is 2 blocks from our house and carries a great range of fresh Tasmanian produce, breads and wines, cheeses from all over the world and a bountiful deli with some pre made meals. From our house there is also a 15 to 20 minute walk up the hill (quite steep) into the bush and walks along Knocklofty Reserve with fabulous views across the city and river.

    The original Cottage once served as the first North Hobart Post & Telegraph Office and has been recently renovated to accommodate guests. It is an upstairs studio with it's own entrance. It is warm, spacious, comfortable and self contained. The studio connects to a second separate bedroom which can be made available for additional guests. There is an outside deck for the exclusive use of guests.
    The second bedroom with two single beds and vanity is available on request where 2 persons require seperate beds. In this case there is an additional charge of $20 per night which can be arranged by going to https://airbnb/resolutions. This space is available where the booking is for more than 2 persons and the charge will automatically incur in the nightly rate.
    Mather Cottage is conveniently located close to the restaurant strip and the State Theatre. It is a 15 minute walk to the CBD and then on to Salamanca Market.

It is very well equipped and comes with virtually everything the traveller requires. It is very comfortable and well appointed. While it doesn't have a dishwasher nor a clothes drier, it does have a clothes line and a laundry is located nearby on Elizabeth Street if required. While on the subject of Elizabeth Street, a multitude of restaurants are literally at your doorstep together with banks, newsagent, hotel, craft brewers, wine/alcohol shop, post office, [state] theatre. As Lindsay noted the area could do with a small supermarket nearby for those seeking to eat in and prepare there own food. The vibe of this area is fantastic. Our stay was Friday and Saturday nights and we found the location to be quiet, not withstanding all the venues on your doorstep. We have stayed centrally in Battery Point Hobart before and would rate Mather Cottage /North Hobart as having a 'feel' better than that of the former.

    61 Barrack is a warm and welcoming house within easy walking distance to town, Salamanca and MONA ferry. It has a private deck, sunny courtyard garden, fully equipped kitchen and a cosy living area. It is a great place to live whilst in Hobart.
    Our delightful cottage dates back to the 1890's and features two bedrooms, a cosy living room and a sun-filled kitchen opening onto a deck and private courtyard garden. Unpack, relax and don't leave the house if you wish or open the door to an array of wonderful cafes, bars, restaurants and boutique shops within easy walking distance. For the more adventurous, get in your car or on the bus and explore this amazing, breathtakingly beautiful city and State that we are lucky enough to call home.
    61 Barrack Street sits nicely on the border of Hobart and the groovy West Hobart suburb. Within a 2 block radius there is an organic supermarket, gourmet Italian produce store, 2 very good cafes (at least!) and restaurants. Extend out to say 7-8 blocks and you have the entire CBD, waterfront and North Hobart strip within your reach. All of these places are easily walkable or cheap (under $10) in a taxi. Hobart is amazing. There are spectacular water and mountain views from all over the city, plenty to do and yet it retains that small, inviting and friendly atmosphere of a smaller city. You will find many suggestions on where to eat and what to do in the info folder in the cottage.

    Nestled in a quiet court, our light filled apartment is only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Hobart CBD. With an outdoor terrace, offstreet parking and a vegie garden, our place is suitable for all ranges of travellers from business people to families with kids.
    One of five single level apartments from the 1970s era of practical design, this accommodation is tucked away behind the grand houses of West Hobart in a private court. Following five steps up to the front terrace with outdoor seating, you will enter the apartment directly into the living area with adjoining kitchen. The entire space has been neatly renovated in the last five years and the kitchen is well equipped for those wishing to cook at home. There are two bedrooms both with high quality beds and linens (as a lover of sleep, I splashed out on these). The master has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two long singles that can be zipped together to be a king bed. The bathroom has a shower, washing machine and an adjoining private toilet. Throughout the apartment we are exhibiting works from local emerging artists, Rachel Peacock and Ian McKenzie. Their stunning works brighten our walls and also allow our guests to take a little piece of Tasmania and its art scene home with them if they wish to purchase a work. Our guests often comment on their enjoyment of our Scandinavian inspired styling, cleanliness and quiet but close to everything location.

The area is hilly, so it’s an uphill walk back to the apartment ( including the driveway) - but my 83 year old dad managed it! Would definitely stay again.

The flat is airy with very good kitchen amenities and the bedrooms are both a very good size with lovely furnishings. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. There were a couple of negatives for us: the flat is in the middle of a block of five and there was audible noise from an adjoining flat in one of the bedrooms which was a bit disruptive at night. The water pressure in the shower was't great and there was no microwave. These are minor issues though and possibly wouldn't bother other guests. We didn't need to use the heating during our stay but there is a warning that the fuse may blow if all the heaters are used at once, which may be a problem during the colder months. Really though, it is lovely accommodation and Dominique was excellent with her communication and information and I would highly recommend her place.

The only downside for us was the road outside (the bedroom window) was a little busy and thus noisy at times but we’re used to dead quiet where we live!

    If you stay here you are in the heart of the heart of Battery Point! Walk to the docks, CBD, Salamanca markets, Princess Park (Kids will love it ) restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars, MONA ferry and adventure tour bases. Its a fantastic location! Relaxing and private outlook. We live in the main house as we have taken over what was a Bed and Breakfast, the apartment remains as accommodation. We are very conscious of your privacy but not too far away if you need anything!
    The studio is warm and cozy, whilst not hugely spacious it is comfortable and feels like a small apartment not a hotel room. The garden outlook is relaxing and you can sit in the sun and enjoy an outdoor space.
    We are very privileged to live in such a beautiful place, so close to Salamanca and Battery point precinct. This gives you the option of doing without a hire car as you can walk everywhere. Many guests choose to be car less for a few days and then hire one to go further afield. We love the accessibility to all Battery Point has to offer!

  • This ground floor studio flat is in one of the best locations in Hobart. The back entrance through the garden is right at the top of Kelly's steps above Salamanca place, yet, with limited traffic in the immediate vicinity, it is quiet and peaceful. David and Kathryn live on site and gave us a very warm welcome and introduction to the space, but with separate entrances, we were hardly aware of them. The only time we asked for help with anything Kathryn was at the door immediately. An example of the excellent communication we had throughout. The space was beautifully clean, comfortable and well-equipped and we enjoyed sitting in the garden when we weren't out exploring. I would stay there again without hesitation if in Hobart again.

  • Mandalay was a wonderful place to stay - perfectly proportioned with everything we needed and so convenient to Salamanca Place and the wharf area via the historic Kelly Steps very close to the property’s rear gates. Battery Point is a charming historic area and we loved exploring the tiny streets with their gorgeous houses. Even though the weather was warm, the double-brick of the accommodation and heavy curtains kept the inside cool enough. The bed was super comfy and kitchenette served our purposes well - coffee beans, a grinder and plunger a plus for us coffee lovers! Kathryn was a friendly, accommodating and helpful host with great communication and knowledge of the local area and eateries. We were especially grateful to be able to leave our bags until departure for our afternoon flight. We’d love to return to Mandalay in future.

  • My mom and I stayed at this place for two nights and it was perfect. The place is just like the pictures show. It’s small, but the layout works perfectly! The shower pressure and temperature was great, the entire place was very clean, neat, and tidy. There was a selection of teas for us to enjoy and Yama even baked a couple of tiny walnut brownies and left them for us to find during our arrival! The space is very functional, we were able to wash and iron a few clothing items and everything was very organized. Yama was kind enough to provide a power adapter that we asked for a few days before our check in date. The location is great, close to many shops and restaurants, easy walking distance from Salamanca square and the piers. (We were confused because the shops close at around 5pm and we were hoping to do some shopping the final evening of our stay). We truly enjoyed everything about our stay and can’t wait to return and recommend this place to our friends and family.

It's a 5min walk to Salamanca and downtown action, so it's a perfect location. parking spot is great as well. The only thing one could want is a bigger, spacious living room, but I think this space suits couples or individuals that are coming & going, being active outside the apartment and seeing the sites in Hobart. Clean, neat, and well-kept. Loved it.

The location is a little far out of Hobart if you are not keen on walking - particularly uphill for the journey home although we had very good weather so this wasn't an issue for us. The hosts provided additional glasses as soon as they noticed that we were short (and before we did!). Only comment, the upstairs loft bedroom is rather noisy for those downstairs and a rug would help with this. Whilst I'm sure it is safe to walk on I did feel a little vulnerable walking on the exposed floorboards with bare feet. And just a warning - the upstairs loft bedroom does not have a door to the bathroom/toilet.

    Stay @ Trinity Hill Apartments - a heritage listed house within the best inner city residential area! Easy walking distance to all central Hobart attractions, 20 mins at most. Spacious bedroom, separate lounge/kitchen, small balcony, FREE off street parking and FREE wifi included. You’ll love our place because of the sunlit lounge, the comfy bed, the central location, the kitchen, and the heritage features. It is good for couples, families and business travellers.
    Positioned on the first floor of a newly refurbished home, the apartment is fully self contained with a large bedroom containing a queen size bed and study desk. A lounge/kitchen has a comfy couch and TV and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher and Nespresso pod coffee machine. The bathroom is spacious with a shower over a bath and there is a separate laundry cupboard with a washing machine. There is also a small balcony leading from the lounge with a view over the city and Glebe. The house was built circa 1840 using convict made bricks and sandstone. It is listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register. There is a free dedicated off street parking space for the apartment.
    Trinity Hill is a lovely inner city residential area with Trinity Hill Church at its apex. Paternoster Row has many heritage listed houses and is ideally located within the city limits but in a quaint neighbourhood. - Salamanca Place is a 20 minute walk where you can find the renowned Salamanca Market every Saturday morning, along with cafes, restaurants, night life, galleries and craft shops. Princess Wharf No 1 is there which hosts events throughout the year such as the Taste of Tasmania and DARK MOFO winter feast. - You could walk down to the Hobart Waterfront (17 mins) where you can find great fish and chips or take the ferries to MONA and Peppermint Bay. - Why not stroll to the Farm Gate Market on a Sunday morning (7 mins) where you can meet the local farmers and purchase some fantastic Tasmanian produce. - 8 mins walk in the other direction is the North Hobart Restaurant Precinct with an eclectic selection of restaurants, bars and shops. - Three micro breweries are just around the corner. - A well-equipped supermarket is only 5 mins walk.

It is in a great location & we were able to walk everywhere (although molle st is seriously steep but we managed fine still even with a pram). The cafe around the corner was delicious. Lovely touches like breakfast supplies and beautiful linens were appreciated. We were travelling with two small children so it was handy to have a washing machine & the little courtyard, and a little playground across the road too. We would definitely stay again.

There are stairs which accommodate each level, but they are easy to maneuver. Onsite parking made touring Hobart and surrounds a non-issue. Highly recommend.

    Just walk along Hampden road towards water by 5 minutes, you can find Salamanca pubs street just in front you, and the Salamanca fresh Super market just by right hand side. Two other small butcher and Super market are also along this road.
    So convenient to get around! If you are here on Saturday, please don't miss the biggest outdoor market in Salamanca!

    A large one bedroom apartment with a separate living room and a separate combined kitchen and dining room. In the living room is a large couch that can be used as a single bed. The sofa bed is a small single (suitable for a child or a small adult). This can be placed in either the living room or bedroom. Please let us know if you require linen for the sofa bed and/or sofa.
    Less than a minutes walk and you shall be in the center of the shopping area - Cat & Fiddle Arcade, Centrepoint Shopping Centre and The Mall are all at your finger tips. Also less than a minutes walk away are some of our favourite cafes including Small Fry, Raspberry Fool and The Pumphouse. If you tend to be a night owl and enjoy a late night drink or dance floor action you are a few minutes walk from Ivory Lounge Bar, The Grand Poobah and Mobius...be warned these places don't get going until after midnight - but don't get there too late or there could be a line up to get in!
