  • the property is clean and wonderful, it is near to town center, view is beautiful. We really have a good time in this great house

  • The location is amazing , and the house is spacious, clean, everything looking good. We found the kitchen really small, even for one person trying to cook, the bench space is very small and hard if you try cooking dinner for 5 people like we did. We only spent one night and we loved it.

  • This is a beautiful cabin in a fantastic location - easy access to the water's edge with boat launching facilities right across the road. Easy drive to Deloraine, Liffey Falls etc. Looks like it would be fun in the snow with an awesome wood heater to snuggle up by. All the amenities you could need for cooking etc. The cabin was high spec and very clean with a wonderful view. We came further but an easy drive from Hobart. Would definitely recommend. Kylie and Jason were very quick and easy to communicate with too. When we drove up it was 33 degrees, when we left it was 7!! Gotta love Tassie weather!

  • This house is beautiful. The beds and couches are super comfortable, the decor is lovely. It has all amenities and is very clean. The breakfast basket is awesome. The house is in a great location. Highly recommend a stay at this lovely cottage. Hosts are very easy to communicate with and very prompt with their response.

  • Kenya cottage is in a great location with everything plus more that I had expected. It felt like I was staying at a friends place with so many provisions in the cupboards. The breakfast hamper was huge and we'll and truly kept us going. Would highly recommend this place and will be back next time we stay in Deloraine.

    Julie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home with good facilities, like walking in to a well equipped family home.

    Jennifer2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming place. Everything about it! It was such a sanctuary for us where we rested deeply. The generous breakfast basket was such a great prelude to how enjoyable our stay was going to be. Every comfort was provided. This wonderful home is on a quiet backstreet a short stroll from the beating heart of downtown Deloraine and with a fantastic view of the mountains from the porch. Excellent in every way! Stay here!

    Pat2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a characteristic and cozy cottage! The mattresses in all 3 bedrooms are very good. Kitchen well equipped, numerous cooking basics like salt, pepper, flower, teabags, coffee, etc provided, spacious and lovely "old fashioned" bath room where hot and cold water faucets are still separate, plenty of clean towels, a great fireplace to use in the living room, well functioning tv, books, a lovely garden with beautiful roses and other plants surrounding the house, very quiet street, nice view to mountain area overlooking the neighbourhood houses. When picking up keys we got a huge basket with breakfast food. Wished we would have had more time to stay at this place which made us feel home from the first second on! The village has a good infrastructure with shops, even some nice art galleries, antique furniture to be found there. 4 of us stayed in this fabulous cottage, the higher the number of guests staying the more important is it to organise the toilet use since the only toilet is located in the bathroom: We absolutely recommend staying at this place, we found the interior of the house actually looks much more tastefull than in the photos. Just loved it! Thanks for having us :-)

    Franz2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. Great little cottage in the village of Deloraine definitely worth a couple of days to look around this beautiful part of Tasmania. Meredith was very easy to contact and responded directly to our questions and made the trip very simple for us. If I was coming through this area again I would definitely stay at Kenya cottage again.

    James2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • First of all we have to mention the huge welcome basket. Never expected that. What a great surprise. Thank you so much. Travelling as a family with two kids we had more than enough room in this beautiful house. The kids loved their room as it is made very lovely and child friendly. The house is very close to a great playground and the second one -with a real train- is also in walking distance. All in all highly recommended.

    Claudia2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kenya cottage is the most lovely place to stay. The home is just what you need. It has everything you could want plus more. Deloraine is the most beautiful place and the locals are just so lovely. I hope very much to come back again. Thank you Meredith.

  • This place is incredible. The property is absolutely breathtaking, and there is basically a private river that you can sit by! It was like being on our very own relaxation resort! There is a lot of space to walk around and explore, and the home itself is gorgeous. The decorations (especially check out the bathroom and bathtub in the pictures) are so unique and special, and Cindy was an incredible host. She was very responsive and caring, and made our stay wonderful and comfortable. Her dog is also incredibly well-trained and we SO cute!! Everything about this stay was great. Definitely recommend!!! :)

  • What a wonderful experience we had staying at Rivers Edge. So close to the beautiful river this place is truly unique. Our space was perfect and bigger than expected with a separate sitting room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom for our exclusive use. Very private with everything we needed. Cindy was a perfect host with plenty knowledge of the surrounding area and we enjoyed meeting her and her lovely fur family and having the  opportunity to sample the country lifestyle for a few days. Very relaxing. We would highly recommend Cindys property.

    Jackie2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had enjoyable stay at Cindy’s place. The place looks rustic with all the aesthetic little touches. Cindy even made a cheese plate for us upon arrival. Looking forward to coming back to Tassie!

  • Great value, close to Launceston, great communication and such a relaxing place to stay with the sounds of the river in the background! I will be recommending to any friends who are in the area!

  • Absolutely amazing. Right on the river front. We sat on the deck and had a glass of wine and watched the river. The bathtub with fireplace and candelabra and inside garden were just wonderful. Huge towels. Great little kitchen had all we needed. Separate lounge area and a big bedroom with medieval iron cast bed frame. Outside area was stone with beautiful gardens and trees. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • We had the pleasure of using Greg's RV for our quick (7days) around Tasmania. Not enough time unfortunately to see all the beautiful sights Tas has to offer! RV was great, very comfortable, easy to manage and quite fuel efficient. Greg spent a fair bit of time explaining the ins and outs of the van and also some good advice about locations. A wonderful week and would be happy to recommend Greg & Baxter to all. Would also be happy to rent again if they would have us! Paul & Paula (Melbourne)

    Paul2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Greg's camper served as our home for a week's holiday in Tasmania. After being picked up at the airport and a thorough introduction to the mobile home (we had never driven one before), Greg left us to it. No worries, no hassle - just as easy as borrowing it from a good friend. We would love to be back soon and do it all over again! Highly recommend. Sparkling clean camper, very comfortable double bed, all amenities you need - well insulated to suit hot and cold temperatures. Enjoy!

    Søren2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Greg was an amazing host, very personable, friendly and was all about making our trip great. Greg was so accommodating with the pick up and drop off of the van, did a full tour of how everything works, what to expect etc and made us feel comfortable in being able to contact him if there were any issues. Having a van in Tassie is the best way to see and do everything you want to and its easy to find camp grounds all around. We booked Tassie as a last minute trip and everything was just easy and worry free. Greg was quick to respond to us and get us on our way. The van itself is great to drive with a surprisingly good turning circle given its size. Everything worked well internally and the bed was comfy - every night was a good nights sleep. Thanks again to Greg and would recommend for anyone who wants to make the most of their trip to Tassie.

    Alex2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Greg and Baxter were great Picked up at the airport and dropped off . Every thing explained and shown to us very simply . What a great holiday we loved it and will certainly do it again

  • Greg is a fantastic guy that truly wants to make your holiday a good one nothing is too much trouble for him. Baxter his trusty sidekick pup is adorable. Greg goes the extra mile when it comes to giving you a memorable holiday. The fiat is a great vehicle very comfortable, clean and well kept, 6 speed manual diesel drives like a dream great motor and power, Greg will run you through the setup so spare a bit of time for him to do so as you will need to understand what he is telling you, do the right thing by Greg and respect the fact it is his vehicle and he looks after it so you can have a nice trip so in return look after it too and keep it clean and return it the way you found it, we would definitely recommend Greg anytime a great guy. Look after it as we will be back again to explore the wonderful state of Tasmania so much to see and do 3 weeks just didn't cut it . Enjoy

My home is on 7 acres of native Tasmanian bush. The garden is alive with bird attracting plants, lemon & apple-trees & Tasmanian pepperberries. The balcony, with treetop views, hugs the spacious main bedroom & private en-suite. The open-plan living area has a guest TV, air-con and wood-fired burner. A snug 2nd upstairs bedroom makes for a cosy home for a family or 2 couples. 7 minutes to the township of Deloraine & central to Cradle Mountain, Ben Lomond, The Great Lakes, Launceston & Devonport.
Reedy Marsh is a few minutes drive to Deloraine. It is nestled in the picturesque Meander Valley. The Meander River flows gently through this fertile region abundant with native Australian bush. Deloraine, 'the prettiest town in Tasmania', lies on the Meander River with its grass lined banks supporting a diversity of fish and bird life. The flocks of ducks on the river bank are a sight to behold. This famous tourist hub is close to wineries, beautiful bush-walks that are suitable for all ages, and close to attractions such as Cradle Mountain, The Great Lakes & Mole Creek Caves. A beautiful place to holiday with a wonderful variety of fresh and unique Tasmanian produce and attractions.
  • Great bush location yet close to the town. Wonderful hospitality. Thoroughly recommended

  • Scott's place was very clean and spacious with lovely welcoming touches. Wine and cheese. All ingredients to make great breakfasts. It's in a quite location just off a small town and very peaceful. It was a great stay. We would normally stay in the city but this was such a nicer place to relax and unwind.

    Tess2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Scott is a perfect host! Really friendly and welcoming! And the place is perfect. Highly recommended!!!

    Andreas2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Scott is a super-duper most wonderful host!! This was by far the loveliest place I stayed while in Tas. Beautiful location and apartment (had the whole top floor - completely self contained to ourselves); very clean, speedy wifi, quiet and serene. And to mention again what a truly great host Scott was providing us with lots of nice comestibles in case we didn't have time to make a stop after a very long day hiking Cradle Mountain. I would def def stay with Scott again .... Thanks Scott ... you're a star!!

    Amber2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was am outstanding host providing a wonderfully comfortable, pleasant and restful homestay. His generosity of spirit in sharing his kitchen and all that was in it, plus providing any custom needed foods was kind and thoughtful. I had the best sleeps in a long time in the very comfortable bed of the master bedroom, waking up to the sound of a chorus of Australian forest birdsong that delighted and amused me. A bonus was seeing the amazingly vibrant contrasting yellow and black flashes of a group of Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo's as I headed out one morning. What a treat. Would not hesitate to recommend this delightful airbnb amongst the tree tops to anyone wanting to experience Tassie at its best.

In the heart of the Meander Valley and the vibrant arts community of Deloraine this small hotel is an ideal base for exploring some of the best cycling roads in Australia or as a jumping off point for Cradle Mountain and the World Heritage area. Your room includes a light continental breakfast and a complementary wine or beer if eating in our restaurant.
We have a selection of rooms available
  • It was not a private accommodation but a hotel. The hotel was still good. The check in time was very flexible and we always got fast answers. The room was quite small, but was enough for one night. Unfortunately there was no real window, only one which was between room and balcony, so that others could have looked. There was breakfast and best we found the staff. The staff was super nice, helpful and we even got a guide to the river where we could see Platypus. That was our highlight! By the way, we also got information about animals in Tasmania and tips for our further stay! Many thanks for that and all the best! :)

  • We had a great stay in Deloraine, would highly recommend Mark and Amanda's place!

    Michael2018-01-09T00:00:00Z

The Roundhouse is located in a place of spectacular beauty, with views of Quamby Bluff and the Great Western Tiers on all sides. The property is surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest which is a result of the protracted Jackeys Marsh Forest Protests. The fresh air, crystal clear water, abundant wildlife and pristine environment are all environmental values prized by the people of Jackeys Marsh. We would now like to share our unique heritage with the rest of the world.
The Roundhouse is a self-contained home set apart from the other buildings on the property. It gives you the privacy and independence to do your own thing. The interior is warm and comfortable with extensive windows to highlight the amazing views of the mountain valley of Jackeys Marsh. The Roundhouse is full of architectural features. From the handmade stonewall basement, through the curved wooden features of the main floor, to the onion top cupola that caps off the building. It is a truly unique property that continues to create special memories for all who visit. "People respond to the shapes that I make. They enjoy the playfulness and freedom of line, and see the resemblance of natural forms in the designs. They appreciate the skill required to make such shapes from straight timber, following Nature's design rules." Kim Clark - Curved Wood Creations ( search this name to see website.)
Jackeys Marsh has a small community of approximately 80 people scattered throughout the valley. Most of the valley is heavily forested with small farms occupying the clearings. Because Jackeys Marsh is off the state energy grid, it attracts those who seek an alternative and more independent lifestyle.
  • We stayed at the Roundhouse for my grandmother's 90th birthday and it was such a fun adventure. Kim was a wonderfully thoughtful host and the space is positively enchanting. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Make sure you go exploring in the forest and surrounds to gain even more appreciation for this location.

Deloraine is a medium sized country town about 40 minutes drive to the cities of Launceston and Devonport. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and mountains, the area is a drawcard for creative people and there are many artists and artisans in the area many of whom have moved to Tasmania from other States or other parts of the world. It is a colourful vibrant place with a real energy. Don't be surprised if you have an unexplained urge to move here!
  • Robyn and nick have done an amazing job on there flat. Would recommend it to anyone . My wife and i went there for our 20th anniversary and saw all the sights around deloriane. Had an awesome time.

  • The WearHouse is a fantastic place to stay; immaculate and really spacious with all the mod cons. Robyn and Nick pay superb attention to detail and we had everything we needed - and more. The terrace at the back is a perfect place to sit and relax and we had a very comfortable stay.

The cottage overlooks the farm where you have live reality television on offer (sheep watching is satisfying and relaxing). Being able to wander around and check out the paddocks and sheds was fun and interesting. The walk down to the river was well worth the small effort to enjoy the setting. In all a great place to stay.

  • Tarcombe House was the perfect place for a family getaway. The house is very well stocked and extremely comfortable. There were thoughtful touches like breakfast supplies and ample towels etc. there are en-suites off each bedroom as well as a large main bathroom and laundry with iron etc. Whilst the house only has two bedrooms, it has a very large living room, a deck with table and chairs and a proper dining room. The house sits within a lovely garden with lots of fruit trees (with ample, very yummy fruit which we enjoyed snacking on). The house is a short walk to the centre of town and some good places to eat such as the Deloraine Deli. Thank you Jane for making this a wonderful stay for my husband and I and my parents.

Very well-equipped kitchen and laundry and nicely furnished throughout. The lounge opens onto a large, sunny deck. The property is a short walk to the centre of town and some amazing cafes and restaurants. Communications with Jane were prompt and clear, and check-in was a breeze. • Linda was an amazing host and made us feel very welcome on our stay here as part of our honeymoon. The place is spacious, clean and was great for getting away from everything for a few days. We saw an echidna, a number of rabbits, wallabies and pademelons during our stay. Feeding the ducks/chickens was a favourite with our daughter and we also frequented the van diemans land ice creamery almost daily. Although we didn’t know much about the area before coming, it was a great place to base ourselves (and our 18month old daughter) with most of the surrounding attractions within a 30-45min drive that Linda helped us discover.

    David2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • The position although 6 km out of town was easy to get to with a car. There is no public transport if you don't have a car. The advantages of being out of town was the quietness, scenery, dam with ducks, chooks that we fed each day and collected eggs. The lounge was especially relaxing, it overlooked the dam and went half way across the back of the house catching lots of light. Three bedrooms were very comfortable/ Linda our host and Lee were most welcoming and responded quickly to any requests. We were there 12 nights and didn't want to leave. I would highly recommend the place especially for a family.

Exceeded our family’s expectations - highly recommended.

  • A lovely spot by a small dam. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean, and we had everything we needed. Linda was super friendly and have us lots of advice about what to see and do in the area. The kids loved feeding the chooks and geese.

  • Bodhi and Martin were exceptional hosts! From the moment we arrived they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable in their home beginning with Martin taking us on a walk in the rainforest on their property and dinner that night with produce from their garden. The house and surroundings were absolutely gorgeous with exceptional views. A definite highlight was spending an afternoon in the sauna while it was pouring with rain outside, very relaxing! We left feeling very refreshed. Thank you Bodhi and Martin for your wonderful hospitality and looking forward to returning one day soon!

  • If you are looking for a unique place somewhere at the end of the world, where time stops and words of conversation flow straight from the heart ... this is the place :) after the trip we were greeted with a glass of wine and a cup of tea ... just like that. In the evening we had the great pleasure to try Bohdi's soul-filling dinner and in the morning a walk in the rainforest with Martin, a walk without photos but with hugging trees... If we had not planned a further journey, we would have stayed for a few days to fully feel the enormity of energy flowing from this place ... To describe this stay I have no sentences, but the most important thing is always between words ... :)

    Dorota2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Martin & Bodhi’s property is a beautiful place to experience Tasmania off the beaten track. Our room was comfortable & very quiet except for frog & birdsong...a very peaceful stay.

Stay in our lovely little caravans by the creek in the quiet country air. Quamby Corner is 10 minutes from Deloraine and situated at the foot of Quamby Bluff in the Golden Valley rural landscape. Amenties are close, bedding hire $12 double.
This van is a favorite. Listen to the small creek outside 9 months of the year. Warm and cosy. Bring your own bedding or hire on site $12 double
  • Andrew's caravan was a great space to spend the night, we notified him of our arrival time and he was kind enough to turn the heater on for us. His mother was lovely and gave us a tour of the site. We were able to hire bedding for $12, which I felt was a reasonable price. The cat's were super friendly and came to visit us at our van, which was very cute. Definitely great value for money accommodation if you're exploring northern Tasmania!

    Isaac2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect location, I don't think I could have picked a better spot! It felt truly far away from everything but in fact close to town and many walks and scenic spots. Thank you!

    Uta2018-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Andrews Franklin Van was amazing. It was incredibly cosy and the heater was on when we arrived! We loved been so close to nature and the creek right outside our window. Thank you so much for having us, we will be definitely be back.

    India2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Received a warm welcome as soon as I arrived. The place is close to many of wonderful walks and yet conveniently located near Deloraine. Inside the caravan was everything one needs and it was just lovely. Mobile reception can be a bit unstable but there is a booster if anyone needs. The facility was so close and the shower was nice and hot after a long walk. I have had a wonderful Easter escape here and would love to come back to do more walks around the area. I cannot get over how amazing the view is (Quamby Bluff) and how peaceful this place is!!

    Akari2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are after a quiet, secluded place where the only sounds are the nearby creek running and the local wildlife saying hello, then the ‘Creek Van’ is just the place. My girlfriend and I loved every minute of this little getaway tucked away in the Golden Valley.

  • Everything we needed for a great stay at Deloraine, would definitely recommend

    Tony2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spacious house with nice rooms and good beds. Beautiful farm field views, full of birds and hares jumping around. Big living room with lots of couches, big kitchen with lots of amenities and utensils. Only hairdryer and scissors missing. The BBQ was full of rust and out of gas, so we couldn't use it, but we could use an electric cooking plate inside instead. There are lots of clear instructions and notes all throughout the house which is nice. The house is in fact 2 Airbnb's which share a foyer with the other side, but there was no problem with privacy whatsoever. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Motor home is accurately described. It has a few years on it but strong heart and everything need for self sufficient camping.

  • We would give it 7 stars out of 5 if we could. Fantastic motor home that more than suited our needs. Every convenience is available (fridge, cooktop, heating and cooling when connected to power). Had a wonderful time visiting Tasmania with the portability and flexibility of a motor home. Will do this again!

  • Really enjoyed our stay in Greg's van! Greg is a friendly, helpful and thoughtful person who made effort to make our trip as good as possible by sharing local tips and getting in touch to suggest activities to do when he noticed the weather wasn't on our side! We enjoyed exploring Tasmania at our own pace, making use of several free campsites and some paid - we actually camped on the street in Hobart on one evening after checking with the locals this was OK. This was one of the comfiest beds in a campervan we have slept on and though the weather can be chilly (especially in the evenings) the duvet certainly helped to keep the chill away! Greg and Baxter (cute small doggie) made for good conversation and company on the trip back to the airport - overall an awesome trip!

An owner built rustic cabin on the edge of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage. It is ideally situated to access the many walking tracks on the Great Western Tiers in central Tasmania close to the World Heritage. It has a double bed and two singles upstairs and a kitchenette downstairs. A small but compact space for outdoor type guests who love nature. Minimum 2 day stay. Inquire about price for longer bookings. The ideal place to get away from TV and Wifi, to chill out and unwind.
The cabin is surrounded by birds and wildlife with wallabies sharing your space in the morning and evening. The space is ideal for 2 or three adults or a family of 3 or 4 with children over 4 years old as the staircase is quite steep. Downstairs the bathroom is across the deck in its own small building with a bath, shower and composting toilet. The deck is spacious and ideal for dining in the late afternoon on a summers day. The kitchenette is supplied with tea and coffee, some spices, oil and other basic cooking ingredients. We will provide you with some milk on check-in if you haven't brought any. There are also basic breakfast cereals for your use. This small cabin is located in the beautiful valley of Jackeys Marsh under the bluffs of the Great Western Tiers. The perfect location for a hiking holiday. There are many and varied walking trails nearby from difficult to easy. The setting is beautiful and the stars plentiful at night. It is also centrally located to explore the many experiences of the central north of Tasmania.
There are many walking trails in the surrounding area. The most well known are Meander Falls, Liffey Falls, Quamby Bluff, Warners Track, and Westmoreland Falls. The nearest shop and cafe is in Meander where they serve great cofffee but also have a range of other cafe food. There are many shops and cafes in Deloraine as well as a supermarket and some remarkable art galleries. Forest Walks Lodge next door may be able to provide you with meals on request.
  • Lovely little wooden chalet just as described, in the most beautiful setting with wallabies grazing on the grass each morning and the most wonderful rainforest so close by.

Quamby Pines is a self-contained 2 bedroom Chalet with it's own little Kitchen and Bath-room, located near Deloraine. We are very environmentally orientated and achieved our goal of a zero carbon footprint.
The quietness of the place is serene, it's a paradise for bird watching and fishing in the farm dam is a totally relaxing pastime. The Chalet has a queen size bed in the main room plus a fold out sofa bed, in the second room there is a double bed with a single bunk on top of it, however as the basic $110 covers only 2 people, an extra $20 per extra person is charged on arrival.
The area around Deloraine is known for its specialty food production, Ashgrove Cheeses, Raspberry Hill raspberries and ice cream, 41 degree south salmon and ginseng, leatherwood honey at Mole Creek, specialty chocolates at Anvers and more.
  • Thank You Heinz and Sally, We will be back. Great place to stay for a long term. Sorry we could only stay for a short stay, Kind Regards Nola and Basil.

  • Heinz and Celie showed us outstanding hospitality. Their little farm is a peaceful and quiet destination and not too far from town. We had a wonderful time in Tasmania, and had a very restful stay at this wonderful accommodation. It was a perfect space for us to plan and organize for our trekking. Very comfortable beds, well provisioned with basics and overall a lovely place to stay. Would recommend to anyone, and would be an especially great spot for children. Thanks again Heintz and Celie.

  • Very good peaceful stay. A warm welcome and follow-up by Cely. Very good memories of travel.

    Sandra2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy stay a few minutes from Deloraine. Perfect for families travelling by car. Supermarket and amenities nearby. Cooking is not a problem. Humbled by the hospitality of Cely and Heinz, friendly and easy to communicate with from start to end. The house itself is very private and the environment's serene. Loved the animals - alpacas, cows, sheep etc. Would definitely recommend.

  • Old-fashioned country hospitality, peace and quiet.

    Heidi2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • My son Eric recommended the farm stay and this is his second time here already. The house was nice and warm. Cely and Heinz were very considerate and offered us a lot including their home-growns to eat. Cely showed us around the farm and let us feed animals in the morning, which was a great experience. Thanks for answering many questions from my elderly father and your honey.
