  • John’s place looks out on the Atlantic and is an easy walk down to the rugged beach. Within a quick drive to Doolin or Ballyvaghan and the amazing Burren all around you. His place is quaint and clean and comfortable with a wood stove!!

    Claire2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean and convenient place in the most gorgeous setting you can imagine. Waking up and looking out upon the ocean ahead and the weathered beauty of the Burren surrounding. John was so thoughtful to leave a fire going as I came in and then to make suggestions of sites to visit as I was leaving (all of which were excellent) on my way to the Cliffs of Moher.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the stables, it was lovely and cosy! Highly recommend the stables for anyone looking for a nice, clean, quaint place to stay in Fanore :)

  • John's place was amazing, much better than expected. The location is great for a romantic weekend! Lovely touch having the log burner on when we arrived. We had a lovely walk with cracking views just across the road. We'll be back! Thanks John!

  • What a lovely time we had in Fanore and stay in the Stables. It was exactly as pictured, was very clean, and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. John was so kind as to show us around as well, which made the trip all the more special. Fanore is certainly a special place in Clare if you’d like to experience a quiet seaside tiny village with stunning scenery.

  • Very nice place. We had a very nice stay.

    Manon2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in the house very much. The house is situated in a very quiet area. Although it was cold outside, we had it nice and warm inside - not least because of the fireplace. The equipment is very good. We can definitely recommend the house.

  • Patrick and Jessica were amazing hosts! Their cottage is absolutely adorable and way back in the countryside for the perfect getaway. My friends and I only wished we had more than one night there! I would definitely go back and recommend this place to friends!

  • A lovely homely cottage . With beautiful furnishings and amazing comfortable beds .

    Michelle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This home was one of a kind. Well I'm sure many homes built at the time this one was were similar, but it was NOTHING like I've ever experienced before. It was such a treat to be thrown back in time... but spoiled with running water and electricity. We really loved walking just up the path a bit to experience the mountain and a sweet stream running through the property. I'm no expect, but you bet I burned out my camera battery at this place. Make sure you meet Patrick, he's a sweetheart with the best Irish accent to meet all your expectations.

    Sara2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, really well equipped, spacious and cozy.

    Agnes2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • First off, know that it is a ways off from most things. About an hour taxi ride from Galway. That being said, this place was one of the highlights on our trip to Ireland! Pat and Jessica were spectacular hosts, and staying in a family farmhouse almost 4 centuries old was like touching a bit of history. The house has been modernized with important amenities like hot and cold running water, refinished bathrooms with beautiful tile floors, and even heated towel racks. You are in the middle of 350 acres of beautiful green countryside(think John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara in “The Quiet Man”). The hosts run a cattle farm and it is complete with said cattle and a trio of sheep dogs, including one that is so excited to see guests he will run up and “hug” you. If you want to run around as you want, heed the hosts advice, and rent a car. We chose not to, but ended up learning the bus schedules and local taxi numbers. Even still our hosts called and checked on when it was getting late, and we were in another town, and actually waited with us at the local bus stop on the morning of our departure. We couldn’t have asked for better, and if you need a quiet out of the way place to get away, and love walks in the coastal Irish country...’‘tis the place!

Fermoyle Cottage is located in the heart of the Burren on the Wild Atlantic Way. This cottage is located on the Burren way walking route and Caher Loop walking route. This is a perfect place for families and people who love the country atmosphere.
This cottage has modern conveniences you would expect of a new house and also a solid fuel stove in the sitting room to relax in front of on those chilly winter evenings. Please note that the single beds that are in the double bedrooms are roll away beds. these are only set up if a reservation is for more than 6 people or if requested.
Fanore village is a beautiful seaside village that has a pub, shop and restaurant. During the winter months the pub only opens at night for drinks (no meals) and the restaurant is also closed. If you want to go out for an evening meal in the winter you will have to go to one of the neighbouring villages of Ballyvaughan, Doolin, or Lisdoonvarna. And don't forget Fanore's beautiful sandy beach that is great for swimming and surfing if you feel up to it.
  • Beautiful large home with all the amenities. Nice to have a washer after a long trip and they even left dinner for us. Added to an already great trip!

    Jennifer2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean and warm cottage. Two great waymarked hiking trails right outside your door.

    Charlie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at this cottage! It was peaceful to stay off the beaten path and we enjoyed waking up to beautiful farmland views. Patrick and Jessica left us a meal to make when we arrived with fresh milk. We left the cottage relaxed and would love to visit again.

Located on the Wild Atlantic Way, this converted 100 year old cow house has been newly renovated into a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment that sleeps 5 people comfortably.
The building itself dates back over 100 years and still obtains its original stone walls. Sit outside on a nice summers day and enjoy the views of the Cather Valley and its mountains. Or on a rainy day sit in by the turf fire with a glass of wine or cup of hot cocoa..... Whatever you choose you will not be disappointed with your stay at Carley's Cottage
We are located in the heart of the Burren right on their Wild Atlantic Way. Just down the road is the beautiful Fanore beach where you can get surf lessons at Aloha surf school if you are feeling adventurous! We are located directly on the Cather Valley Loop walking trail and just moments away from the Burren Way walking route for those hiking enthusiasts.
  • Great cottage with a great atmosphere. Easily accessible by car (only 2 km from the Wild Atlantic Way) and perfectly located for hiking in the Caher Valley.

  • Carley’s Cottage is an amazing place to stay! It’s super cute and cozy and in a great location, not far from the Cliffs of Moher. They provided good accommodations and even had pasta and sauce ready to be made when we got there. I would highly recommend staying here.

The cottage was very pretty, comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. Patrick and Jessica were very welcoming and helpful with directions and advice about the local area. I'd love to stay again!

Your accommodation is a bright spacious double bedroom with ensuite facilities. It has it's own private entrance. It is located on a quiet road overlooking the Wild Atlantic Way. It is situated on an elevated site with uninterrupted views over the Atlantic Ocean, Aran Islands, Connemara and the stunning golden sands of Fanore beach. The Burren's limestone hills frame the backdrop to your accommodation. You have a choice of three walking routes just outside your gate.
Your bedroom has a double bed with adjoining shower and toilet. Also included for your comfort, is a couch where you can relax and watch the sun go down on Galway Bay. Enjoy my home made scones on your arrival. For your convenience there is a kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, microwave and mini fridge. To set you up for the day ahead you can enjoy a continental breakfast of fruit juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit, my own homemade brown soda bread and tea or coffee.
This is an ideal base to explore the unique Burren area, visit the Cliffs of Moher(18k)and enjoy a trip to the Aran Islands. Daily ferry services operate during the summer. You may want to just stay local and enjoy being in Fanore - the beach(beach towels available), surfing, walks, cycling. Take in the spectacular views while relaxing at the picnic bench. The local pub serves food during the summer months. There is also a small grocery store in the village and this is open every day. Doolin village is less than a 15 minute drive away. All pubs here serve food and most have traditional music sessions nightly.
  • Marys place is a very special place to stay in with the most incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean . The room is beautifully decorated, spotless and very private. I highly recommend a stay here

    Jimi2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place was hands down one of the best AirBnBs we have stayed in. Such a beautiful space, amazing views, and thoughtful touches (homemade breakfast!)! Our only complaint was that we didn’t book enough time in here!

    Elisa2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • In this accomodation you will get a lovely breakfast and an amazing view over the sea... from the bed!! Wow!

    Angelina2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The best experience ever made on Airbnb: starting with the location of the house, the view is spectacular, facing the ocean, allowing you to enjoy a magnificent view in the morning. The room is a sort of annex, quite large, with attached bathroom. Comfortable bed, clean room, soft blankets and nice pillows, bathroom just as big by classic standards and a nice shower with hot water immediately. The strong point is certainly the owner, Mary, a very kind lady who has shown herself available from the beginning, clear and impeccable communication. Despite late check-in, he explained the whole house well and we exchanged a pleasant chat, knowing additional information about the place and travel tips. Mary also prepared an amazing breakfast with all the comforts (coffee, juice, bread, butter, jam, cereals, fruit, biscuits, etc.) that made us feel at home. During breakfast, the view of the sea takes you to another planet. All great! Thank you very much Mary! Congratulations for the great service;)

    Andrea2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great time staying at Mary’s place. The place was immaculate, very cosy and comfortable and had beautiful views! Communication was very prompt and clear and we really enjoyed the personal touches such as scones and soda bread with Jam. We would recommend anyone stay!

    Alex2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is the friendliest person, extremely responsive and goes out of her way to make her guests feel welcome. I had mentioned my husband and I were on a trip celebrating our anniversary in a previous email exchange and she had a note with a beautiful picture of the sunset in Fanore waiting for us on arrival. It was beyond thoughtful and something we will keep forever. She even had a small breakfast/coffee/tea/juice set out for us so we could fuel up before we headed out. We haven’t stayed in a Airbnb yet that has offered us that much! Do yourself a favor and stay here! Only regret was not being able to spend more time. This was a quick stopover for us so would have been nice to stay longer. Thanks Mary for everything!

    Whitney2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's space at the Ocean's Edge had positively breathtaking, unencumbered views, with big windows looking directly out to the sea, which was their backyard. The room itself was the cleanest place we stayed during our entire trip, with crisp, fluffy linens and towels. The day was brisk and raw and her space was a total refuge. To top it off, she made us delicious scones to eat a breakfast!

  • John was really great. There was an unexpected issue at our original booking and he offered up his place (which was amazing) instead. Highly recommend staying in this area and booking with John.

    Robert2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • John was great to deal with! When it was clear that a necessary repair to the place wouldn't be completed when he anticipated, he put us up in his own house and let us pick where we wanted to be! He was extremely nice and flexible, and gave great local tips! I'm sure the place is great, but I can't speak to it directly. His accommodations were more than adequate!

    Robert2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks John for a fantastic visit, we loved the place and you are a charming guy. We really enjoyed the local stories and all the advice on what to see and do!

  • This cottage was a very cozy home away from home. Location was great! The Cliffs of Moher are less than 30 away, and about a 10 minute ride will get you to Doolin- a nice Town with fun pubs and shops. Not to mention, the views from the cottage were AMAZING. Each main room had large windows to admire the Atlantic. Hospitality and quality were top notch. Amy was truly amazing with communication. Her responses were prompt, and she made sure that we had everything that we needed during our stay. The bed was also very comfortable and warm for a cold, windy February. If you plan on staying on the Wild Atlantic Way, choose this place!

    Fanore, County Clare, Ireland

A ground floor apartment in a converted barn beside the old teacher's residence in Fanore, a small coastal village in the heart of the Burren's karst landscape. Situated below the 'Burren Way' walking route and looking out to the Atlantic & Aran islands. Please read the full description before making a reservation request and if you have any questions we would be happy to answer them.
The apartment was designed to maximise the feeling of space, to highlight the lovely and ever changing light and to take advantage it's beautiful surroundings. This open plan studio is a simple uncluttered space in the heart of the Burren, on the Wild Atlantic Way, 10 minutes walk from the main Beach via a track to the shore (or 15 minutes via an alternate route) and just 2km from the Burren Way walking route. The thick walls and large windows emphasise the feeling of being inside in a clear space and looking out on the Atlantic on one side, Black Head on another and up onto the green slopes of Slieve Elva on another. The main space is furnished with genuine antique Irish pieces e.g. the press bed with a choice of either feather mattress or 100% cotton futons dressed with pure linen and pure cotton sheets. There is also a futon couch which can be used as a second double bed. The apartment is unusual and some of the arrangements have put the aesthetic ahead of convenience e.g. in the bathroom the sink is a steel bowl on a limestone pedestal (one empties the sink on to the shower drain). To continue the simple theme the taps are just curved copper pipes. Also the slope in the limestone tiled wet room floor is not as good as it should be and one needs to use the french tub or mop after showering to avoid too much of a spread of water. Heating is provided by either oil fired central heating or, if one wants to stay in the old world atmosphere, a cast iron turf and wood burning stove. The land around the studio is a mix of organically cultivated vegetable plots (guests are welcome to some vegetables in season) and wild grass where there is a constant struggle between the wild flowers and the briars. A note on the internet: the wi-fi can be slow at times and if you need to stream movies and the like that's rarely possible at high quality unless one can let them load a little before viewing.
Fanore is a small village in the centre of the Burren in County Clare in the heart of the west of Ireland, a rough jewel between the waters of the Atlantic and the lunar-like limestone landscape that defines the Burren. It is situated on the coast between Ballyvaughan, Doolin and Lisdoonvarna (all about 15km away) - about an hour's drive from Galway and Ennis. The village itself stretches out along the coast, consisting of a pub (O'Donohues, serving food May-Sept) and a shop. The nerest ATMs are about 30 minutes drive in Ennistymon and Kinvara so having some cash is useful. The nearest petrol stations are 15km.
  • Marvelous Place. Marvelous Host.

    Michael2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this place! Finola ans Daniel went above and beyond to accommodate us. Quite rustic and basic accommodations but perfect.

    Lisa2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Finola and Daniel were great hosts. Storm Dennis did it's best but we had hearty fire with plenty of central heating to ward off the chills. The space itself is like a cosy art installation with the kitchen well kitted out and the fresh bread, milk and oj a delicious addition. Oh and don't worry if you're new to the area Finola will help you out with whatever you need to know :)

    D2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, warm, quiet and great views from this little hideaway. Finola and Daniel and wonderful hosts and most helpful. This is the place to go if you want to get away from everything and just chill close to nature.

    Aoife2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Finola's place is a wonderful escape from the hustle bustle of city life. It's such a relaxing place, close to the sea and a short drive away from neighbouring towns. This is our second time staying here, and we will definitely be back time and time again.

    Laura2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as lovely as all the previous reviews had stated. We didn’t get to meet Finola, but it’s easy to see that her and Daniel go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed. There were so many thoughtful details included in our arrival. Daniel also gave us loads of suggestions for the area as well as Galway, our next destination. The barn itself is beautiful and charming, and it was always cozy and warm during our stay. Fanore beach is just down the road and the Cliffs of Moher are about a half hour drive. This was one of our favorite Airbnb experiences ever and I definitely recommend it.

  • Best Airbnb stay ever! Finola and Daniel were so kind and helpful. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy with everything you need! The windows are perfect because out of every window is the most majestical view of the countryside and the ocean! A 10 minute easy walk takes you to the wonderful local pub with great food and entertainment, the local shop with many convenient items and the breathtaking beach! This is the perfect staging base to tour the west coast of Ireland - Doolin, the Aran Islands, Galway, Ballyvaughan and The Burren! Please stay here, you will not regret!

    Laurie2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Finola and Daniel were truly wonderful hosts. Kind, attentive and made me feel comfortable and at home. The space itself is great! You are very much out in the country side and the views are just beautiful. It's quite cozy and there is a beach about a 15 minute walk away. Ps - I did not have a car while in Ireland but there is a local bus that services this area quite well so if you are hesitating due to the location, I assure you it's totally doable by bus and I highly recommend it!

  • Wow! The Tackroom was absolutely incredible! We arrived at night and when we woke up in the morning we were in awe of the view! The location is great and easy to find! John was very helpful and very welcoming. I hope to stay here again!

  • Loved staying in the stable. The place was clean, warm and had everything we needed for the night.

  • Great stay ! John was really helpful (he fetched me at the beach and gave me a lift the next day at the beginning of the walk I was hiking). Really nice :) the room is really cosy, I could have spent a week there, as it is such a relaxed place ! Definitely recommend it !

  • This is such an amazing place to stay, magical spot in the heart of the Burren and across the road from the beach. Views of the waves from the bed! And kitchenette window. Very peaceful and lovely horses next door. Comfortable bed and very warm & cozy. John is an absolute gentleman. We really enjoyed our visit.

    Catherine2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • John is an amazing host. He accepted our last minute booking and hosted us despite the festive season. The place was really clean and well equipped and had everything we needed. Parking was really convenient at the doorstep and the view of ocean was breathtaking. It was truly a wonderful country retreat. Would definitely visit again!

    Annette2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! This location is not all that far from Galway by car. We happened upon this place by pure accident & found John & His place to be far beyond our expectations for an Airbnb place, what a beautiful place. John was waiting for us on our arrival and showed me around the place to make sure I was familiar with everything, the property was setup ready for a sleep after our long journey in. John is a tremendously friendly chap who clearly has gone out of his way to create this little hilltop paradise. He is seemingly available at a moments notice if you need help but otherwise is very respectful of your peace & privacy, a gentleman. I could talk all day about how much we love this place, if you’re thinking about staying out in Fanore... do it! There is a shop & pub not far away so you won’t be stuck. When you open the door..there’s the sea! Need I say more? Thanks again for making the start of our Irish journey so special.

    Chris2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The tackroom is a brilliantly renovated little flat on a farm right on the water in Fanore. When you walk outside it's simply breathtaking. The view makes this place worth it by itself. The unit itself is cozy. The bed comfortably sleeps 2, shower had plenty of hot water and working heater. Being on a farm there were a few animals, John was very kind to let us meet Shadow, his horse who was adorable. Unfortunately, there is not a ton of options for food in Fanore. The best bet is Doolin about 20 minutes south. The Cliffs of Moher are only 30 minutes south. The drive to both is beautiful as well.

  • Lovely house, clean house well equipped with everything you need. Great location, perfect for exploring the west coast of Clare. Short walk to a really well stocked convenience store and a pub serving delicious food. Mary is a fantastic host! We were even welcomed by a lovely cake! Thank you!

    Zoe2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a wonderful host! Her place was a treat to stay at and all the little touches she’d put thought into was great. The location was great for us to drive wherever we fancied along the coast, and it’s a large place to accommodate 5 of us! Would definitely recommend!!

    Dinusha2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s home in Fanore is the perfect place to get away and see the beautiful scenery that Ireland has to offer. Her home is in a quiet little town with lovely neighbors. It is the perfect size home and she provides all amenities necessary plus very sweet touches and notes to welcome her visitors. A short walk to a small market and restaurant and about a three minute drive to a beautiful beach. We were visited daily by cows and sheep outside her back fence and had views of the ocean out the front window. A very clean and cozy home. It is a short drive to Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. A must see at sunset. Mary was so helpful with her communication and went above and beyond for us. I had only asked about the ferries to the Aran Islands and on her own, she looked up the schedule and made excellent suggestions. On a Sunday we got a flat tire and I messaged her to inquire about a local garage. She responded quickly to me and after she had already spoken to the garage owner about our situation and relayed that even though they were closed,he would be happy to help. We had a great visit in a hidden gem of Ireland.

  • Location, location, location!! Mary's cottage is wonderful. And her neighbors, and the locals make everything tie together! I highly recommend this place for anyone. *****

  • Mary’s place is Exactly what you read on the web site. If you have time do not miss Ballyvaughnan: nice small town. A “must do” , within two blocks is O’Donahughes (blue painted pub ) when you arrive. Great food & quite often live entertainment.

  • Location was absolutely perfect if you are looking for a quite, remote setting with no distractions other than the sound of the sea. Views from the living room are amazing in good weather but even the misty Atlantic on a cold wet day has its charm. The house is cozy and warm with an incredibly comfortable, massive bed. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean and well kitted out. All in all, I couldn't have faulted our stay. We really enjoyed and would definitely recommend to friends and family who are looking for some peace and tranquility surrounded by a stunning backdrop.

  • Lovely comfortable place looking out at the sea with the hills behind. It's nicely remote, about 3-4km from the nearest shop and pub. There's a lovely ~10km hike right from the door, but you really want a car to make the most of it. The landscape of the area is incredible and there are loads of great places to visit with a 30 min drive. The house itself is very comfortable, with a good kitchen and lovely sitting room space. Ann Marie was very helpful and accommodating.

A big thank you to the host :)

  • Noel and Ita are some of the kindest and most generous people you could ever meet, and I highly suggest staying at Rockyview B&B if you have the opportunity. It’s an absolutely beautiful property and home outside the seaside town of Fanore, and I just wish we could have stayed for longer to enjoy it. My mother had an injury, and they went out of their way with genuine care to make sure we were okay and we were so very grateful. They are true gems and as is their lovely home.

    Breanna2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We don’t even know where to begin with. Everything was just so lovely! The house and the surroundings are very pretty, especially all the flowers and the winter garden. Moreover, Ita and Noel are just the nicest hosts we’ve ever had! They made sure, we were well at all times and made us feel at home right away. Also, the breakfast was delicious and -as everything else- made with love. We would definitely stay there again and can only recommend going there, even though it’s going to be hard not to compare every other host to them afterwards, as this is by far the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at.

    Clara2019-08-24T00:00:00Z

  • This was one of my most lovely stays in Ireland. Truly such a gem off the beaten path. I booked last minute and really was so glad I did. Being on my own I really felt so welcome and Noel and Ita took such good care of me with everything from a warm cup of tea to great advice on where to go around the area. Everything was comfortable and the views are stunning. I’ll be coming again for sure.

  • A clean and comfortable studio flat that is in the perfect location for seeing the Burran and cliffs of Moher. So much to see and such beautiful landscapes. The flat was so quiet and the views of the Atlantic are stunning. I loved the seclusion ! Ralf was always available to help and the village shopkeeper was so friendly 🙂

    Sean2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ralf and Áine’s guesthouse is nothing but perfect. They really helped guide us through the local public transportation. They even went above and beyond by offering to pick us up from the nearby bus stop and to pick up some food for the evening since the timing of our arrival did not allow the opportunity to pick anything up ourselves. Their home was just as pictured. It was clean, homey, comfortable and the view was to die for. It was so sad to leave that I literally had tears in my eyes. • A perfectly situated, and equipped cosy cottage, in a most beautiful location. We loved our stay with Ralph and Aine. Ralph was a great host. Lots of information was on hand about the area, its history, fauna and flora, places to go, etc. Highly recommended!

  • I am still fascinated. It was one of the best holidays. This of course also by Ralf & Áine. Great people! The accommodation was also excellent. I felt very well. Top bathroom, super equipped kitchen and a cozy living room. Just great! Again any time. Thank you for everything!

Just 200 meters to the beach, spectacular views of the Aran Islands and Connemara mountains this is a walkers paradise. All amenities provided including washer/dryer, instant shower, TV/DVD, gas cooking, comfy double bed and all linen provided.
Located in the heart of the Burren this one bedroom Chalet has spectacular views of the Burren mountain to the front and the Atlantic ocean to the rear. Just 5 minutes walk from a golden sand beach and a surfers paradise. Ideal base for walkers/hikers.
This is a very rural area and best accessed by car. However the village is very well serviced by public transport direct to Ennis in the south and Galway in the North.

  • Tracey's chalet is exactly as shown in the photos, small but well laid out, and perfect for a short stay in the Burren. Tracy was a great host, with thoughtful touches and advice about the area. We both would have liked to stay longer.

Hi there, Our cosy rooms are situated on the edge of the Burren between Lisdoonvarna and Doolin. So much to do in the area, horse riding minutes from accommodation, Doolin cave is a 4 minute drive and Doolin pier is a 10 minute drive to catch your boat to the beautiful Aran Islands. Doolin has some of the best traditional music and food in the world, one of my favourite places in the world, Last but not least we are a 15 minute drive from the majestic cliffs of moher.
Rooms are en-suite ,warm and cosy. There is no breakfast included as such, but there is a shared guest kitchen and living area for your use, I will provide tea, coffee milk and cereal and you can cook in the kitchen as you wish, Sky TV and WIFI are available. The kitchen and living room is a shared space for guests.
The area is quiet, but Doolin is around a 10 minute drive away, Lisdoonvarna is 2 KLm away. But there are many things to do in the area, Horse Riding Center from this property is a 5 minute walk, the Burren is a few minutes by car, fab restaurants and scenery. There is a bus service from lisdoonvarna that services Ennis, Galway, limerick. A car or other vehicle would probably be an advantage.
  • Annette is a very nice and sympathetic woman. Her house is very lovingly and nicely decorated. Everything is very clean and well maintained. From the terrace you can see the cliffs of moher. Everything worked out great, I can only recommend this property.

    Anja2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

  • Excellent stay. It was a very central location for our checklist of to-dos in Clare. Comfortable and clean house.

    Byron2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect. The room with the private bathroom was very nice, clean and comfortable. Annette is a very friendly and courteous host. There are also a big kitchen and living room, to cook, relax and watch TV. The outside area around the house is beautiful with an amazing view to the cliffs of moher. We had breakfast on terrace and can absolutely recommend!

    Silas2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Annette ‘s was great she was the perfect hostess & her home is extremely very clean & comfortable. Annette’s directions were easy to follow & her home is not for from Lisdoonvarna I would highly recommend a stay at Annette’s home - you would not be disappointed

    Philomena2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Annette’s place is on the way from Lisdoonvarna to Doolin . Handy enough to get taxi to and from ! Lovely accommodation , with use of lovely kitchen and living room . Nice and clean . Lovely decor . Lovely view too !

    Anne2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • fantastic host who is welcoming and friendly. annette really is happy to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. property is spotlessly clean and ideally situated between doolin and lisdoonvarna. the only downside would be that you really need a vehicle to get anywhere as there is very little in the immediate vicinity. thanks annette for making our stay so enjoyable.

This is a one hundred year old original Irish cottage . It was our grand parents home and where our parents grew up. While it has been extensively renovated to include modern appliances and heating it still retained many of the original cottage features, such as 2 beautiful stone fireplaces and half door to the front.
The cottage consists of the original building with an extension which accommodates the kitchen and additional bedrooms. The main living and dining rooms are in the old building with traditional open fireplaces and a warm cottage feeling. The kitchen is large and modern with all appliances and additional dining table and chairs so you can relax watching the Atlantic ocean as you have your evening meal. The cottage is on its own grounds and not overlooked front of back. With just one field between it and the sea it has spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Galway Bay. There is patio furniture to the rear so you can relax and watch the sun go down over Galway Bay.
Fanore is in the centre of the Burren, a unique area of limestone paving in North Clare that was formed in the ice age. People come from all over the world to explore this magical landscape which is at odds with the traditional green image of Ireland.
  • Had a lovely time at Anne’s place! Beautiful scenery, and the perfect place for discovering the Wild Atlantic Way! Loved waking up and seeing the cows in the field behind the house. Anne is a wonderful host, and responds quickly to every question, as well as giving tips for things to do in the area. Especially enjoyed The Burren mountain tour with her!

    Ciara2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious and comfortable accommodation. There were eight of us staying. Plenty of areas to relax in if the weather turns bad. Would stay again.

    Ray2019-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's cottage is located in an amazing location at the foothills of the Burren. So much to see and do locally. Fantastic walks in the Burren literally outside the door. Fanore Beach a few minutes walk away. Magical views of the Atlantic and Aran Islands from the house. The local village is about 25-30min walk down the road. Donoghues pub serves the best seafood and glorious pints of Guinness, lovely after a swim at Fanore beach. I could go on, there's a wealth of places to visit on day trips within a half hour drive. This is my second time at Anne's and I will definitely be back again. Thanks Anne

    Mags2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious cottage close to Fanore Beach with fantastic views. Anne was a very good host and answered questions we had promptly responding to our needs.

Remote cottage located in the Caher valley, beautiful scenery surrounding the house. A car is a necessity if staying here as the nearest shop is 5km away. 4 bedroom cottage, 2 double rooms en-suite, 2 single rooms. 1 double bedroom is on the ground floor. There is also a sitting room, kitchen, dining room and patio. There is a solid fuel stove in the sitting room with mountain views. The garden to the front of the Cottage rolls down to the small Caher river giving a tranquil peaceful feeling.
  • Awesome place somewhere outside if everything, super quiet. Stayed with the family, enjoyed climbing the hills behind the house and the river. Great pace to relax and explore the area. Can only recommend staying here!

    Martin2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at James’ cottage. Driving up it was so charming from the outside and then turned out to be just as comfortable inside. We loved being able to set out on the Caher Valley loop walk from the front door and sitting outside with my tea in the morning and listening to the birds while I drank my tea with a view of the valley was the best. An excellent home base for exploring The Burren!

    Sarah2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful house which is located in calm destination. Highly recommended, thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Martin2019-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in the cottage next to the little river the mountains and still close to the sea. We had everything we needed and found a very beautiful home for our holidays.

    David2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Caher Valley Cottage provides a complete contrast to anyone living a city life. It is in the most beautiful landscape with a gentle river running along the bottom of the field. A very comfortable, clean and warm cottage with all amenities. Our hosts, Catriona and James, were thoughtful and kind, attending to our enquiries quickly and on one occasion, warning us about a forthcoming storm. It is a real retreat, with no sounds to interrupt the tranquillity except birdsong and the babbling of the brook. A true oasis and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

    Cordelia2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage in a fabulous location with everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. Recommended.

    David2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This house is very generous and was ideal for us and our four kids. It would be great for couples as well. There is plenty ofd room, a fireplace and games to play. The surrounding is lovely, the kids would have taken a bath in the small river behind the house but did not because of the weather :). One would definitely need a car to go there and get away. For me- highly recomendation! Ther was actually no personal contact to the owners despite of one E-Mail, but there were no questions occuring:)

    Ines2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Caher Valley Cottage. The view from the house is of fields, hills and cows and you can hear the river that runs at the bottom of the garden - wonderful for anyone who enjoys watching wildlife or walking. The house is comfortable, spacious enough to sleep 7 with ease and well equipped. There is a friendly shop for everyday items in nearby Fanore which also has a pub that does very good food.

Bright airy loft conversion that offers spectacular views across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands and Conamara Mountains. Located 500 metres from a safe golden sand beach recognised as a surfers paradise. Ideally located for walkers on the Burren Way.
The space is independent of our main residence with private entrance into a shared utility area. This leads to a private access to the shower room and downstairs toilet. Wooden stairs gives access to the main living space, newly renovated to a very high standard with digital TV and broadband. The kitchen is high spec and a cooks dream. The bedroom leads from the living/dining space and offers sleeping accommodation in two comfortable single beds and a small sofa-bed is located in the living space providing sleeping accommodation for one person. To the rear of the loft double doors lead out to a large railed balcony with outdoor dining table and chairs. On a fine evening the sunset over Galway Bay can be breath taking! Our guests also have access to a large lawn garden and a washing line.
Fanore is located in the heart of the Burren midway along the Wild Atlantic Way. The village extends for 5 miles along the R477. The beach is safe and clean and Lifeguarded during the summer months. Shopping is provided locally by a small grocery/fishing tackle shop. During the main season, dining is provided by O'Donahue's, a pub offering locally sourced ingredients in a casual dining style. You can also hear live music in the pub on some evenings which is a brisk 20 minute walk along the main road or a 5 minute drive. More excellent dining options can be found only 20 minutes drive away in Doolin or Lisdoonvarna to the South and Ballyvaughan to the North. The village's best attribute is the excellent walks on and off road, all clearly marked.
  • Very cosy & warm & safe perfect for a lone traveller and a great area for walks amazing landscape. If you like being out walking in nature and like cosy well laid out accommodation then this is the place to stay. I loved my break

  • An essential address if you want to see Ireland and its scenery breathtaking. The apartment is very clean, very well equipped with ocean views. It is quietly located near the Cliffs of Moher. The owners are really very kind, smiling and welcoming. We traveled a lot during our stay and it was good to return to a nice and quiet place.

    Stéphanie2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for money! This is a beautiful apartment overlooking the ocean. Very homely and roomy, very clean and has everything you need. Tracey was so great giving us lots of local tips and she even baked us some scones and had the fridge stocked full of milk, butter and eggs. Great stay!

    Hannah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The loft at the Lighthouse is beautiful both in setting and furninshings. This hiker especially appreciated access to a washer and drier. During the good weather I enjoyed the deck that looks out over the Aran Islands and Galway peninsula. You do need to be mobile enough to use the stairs to access the loft and to use the bathroom which is downstairs, still within the secure apartment. As a single traveler I felt safe and comfortable and knew that Tracey and John were nearby to address any questions.

    Helen2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tracey's accommodation is a truly exemplary exception to Irish standards. Absolute top class! It earns 7 stars. In advance I would like to make it clear that the tone of my review could be misinterpreted as harsh. But I don't want to devalue anyone, I want to give outsiders an honest observation of what they usually expect in Ireland. There are few houses in Ireland that are properly built from a German point of view. Often the buildings look like in a third world country, because they are damp, not windproof and mouldy. Many Irish also find this condition normal and offensive to share this observation with them. In fact, the Irish weather is a challenge for any engineer. With Tracey's house, we find a well concerned, cleanly constructed structure that actually provides a comfortable indoor climate. The house is also well insulated against noise, so you can find a profound sleep. The water pressure of the shower is also good and the temperature is reasonably controllable. This is not a matter of course for Ireland. We met her husband, who is a wonderful, solid person of character who understands what he is talking about. The sustainability of his installations is impressive, as he has his own wind turbine and solar panels to generate electricity. In addition to good functionality, everything is tastefully furnished. The view of the sea from the balcony is both uplifting and liberating. If I had furnished the apartment, I would have installed a French bed and a Smart TV for dark days, but that can still be done, when winter is coming.

  • The Stone House is a perfect base for either a single person, couple or family. There is plenty of space, with three large bedrooms en-suite and a small separate sleeping area for a child. I was here with my Mom for five nights, and we had plenty of space to have our own private time, and a lovely kitchen and living area where we could spend time together. The kitchen table is a particularly nice spot at any time of day to sit and enjoy your tea and watch the day go by. There is an abundance of walks and places nearby for outdoor adventure, and peaceful solitude. The house is well laid out, and we never felt a need for anything. The hearth with small wood stove and host supplied Turf was an especially appreciated plus!

  • Expect lots of space to stretch out, skylights with amazing views, comfortable spaces to relax, supplies to make a peat fire, a good washer and dryer, a pier/beach access just across the road and down a short lane. You'll likely be greeted by the neighbor's little dog, Rosie. And have lovely chats with the host, V. Your front view is across Galway Bay and your back view is the Burren. It's right along the wild Atlantic Way and is within 15-40 min drive to several attractions (Ailwee Cave, The Burren/Poulnabrone Dolmen, Doolin for live music, Cliffs of Moher). This place is a little Heaven on Earth.

  • Look no further, this is place you’ve been searching for. Absolutely charming home full of amenities and thoughtful touches. V is a wonderful lady who is just as charming as her home, and stopped by to welcome us and show us around the house. Perfect location, cozy & comfortable. Loved the fireplace which we enjoyed while waiting for our laundry to finish washing. We will stay here again for sure and we recommend The Stone House to anyone visiting the area.

  • The Stone House exceeded our expectations. It was adorable and very comfy. V was so helpful and charming. She gave great advise and tips for things to do and see. The beds were super comfortable! We would definitely recommend the Stone House for a wonderful stay.

  • The accommodations are very cozy and homey. Veronica made sure our grandsons some delicious iced buns and Irish milk when we arrived. We looked the location and it was a short walk to a beautiful view of ocean and the pier. Veronica was very responsive and kept in contact with us when we updated our travel information to include our grand children. We got to see one of her new born calfs thst was only 9 hours old and we were able to have daily visits with the neighbor dogs. Veronica offered us some great tour ideas while we visited Ireland and attended our daughter's wedding in Ballyvaughan.

  • A perfect base for exploring the Burren. Very practical for families & kids or for anyone outdoorsy. We were so well looked after, while being left to ourselves, from the moment we arrived, to when we reluctantly departed. Even the weather was organised for us. Spectacular location near Black Head and Fanore Beach. Highly recommend.

  • My first air bnb experience. If every experience was like this, I'd be delighted. Kathleen and Chris are such lovely hosts. The accommodation was absolutely spotless. So many thoughtful little touches like carrots for my boys to feed the horse and Chris giving us kites to fly on the beach. The amenities are super, fresh bread in the morning and orange juice with eggs left for us and fruit. I really enjoyed the hub, plenty to do for adults and kids. It's a lovely touch to have somewhere to go. Many thanks again for a great experience

    Jennifer2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Fantastic stay!! This airbnb was truly special. The immaculately clean and comfortable room and bathroom was just the start. The hospitality and kindness of the host was the best I have ever received. There was an outdoor area for sitting and a very nice side with guitars, games, breakfast, and more. Magnificent space with even more magnificent hosts. For travelers looking to stay in the area, there is no better choice :)

  • we enjoyed our stay and the welcome of Chris. he is very nice and friendly. we have 2 great days in the burren and the clifts

  • Our stay was way too short, although we only spent one night, it was wonderful! Fabulous hospitality!

  • Beautiful location and perfect for exploring the Burren! Hosts were very helpful!

    Erin2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Warm welcome from Chris and kathleen , very helpfull, very nice stay. We recommend!

    Alexandra2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Kathleen are phenomenal, and are extremely helpful and considerate hosts. This is one of the best Air BnBs that we've ever stayed in, both here and abroad. We stayed for a number of days and are already excited about returning. We had the fortune of staying in both loft rooms during our stay. The bedrooms are very cosy with very comfortable beds, fantastic showers and everything you'd need for a very comfortable stay. Outside the loft rooms there's a very handy tea/coffee making facility, a fridge and water bottle supply. There are also cups, glasses and plates for general use, and information booklets and pamphlets to avail of. This area was so cosy, especially when we wanted to make 'real' coffee and wake up slowly in the morning before our children woke up. Outside, the yard has a cosy seating area, a fire pit and bbq area with all necessary fuel and utensils available for use. There are even horses, a donkey and 'Sunshine' the sheep, for kids and adults to enjoy. Our kids loved rubbing the animals and playing outside, which gave us a chance to relax and sit back more. There is also the fantastic 'Hub' area near the seating area. The 'Hub' has a fully functioning kitchen, dining tables and chairs, and has even got guitars and music if you feel like it. Chris and Kathleen have everything considered so thoughtfully and have created a reallycosy, relaxing and enjoyable experience. We're so happy to highly recommend Chris and Kathleen's place, they will guarantee you'll have an amazing stay. Enjoy!

This purpose built shepherds hut is a cosy self-contained retreat nestled on the edge of Gleninagh Bay. Experience peace and tranquility surrounded by Gleninagh Mountain on one side and stunning views of Galway Bay, Aran Islands and Connemara on the other. We are 5 mins drive from the village of Ballyvaughan and a short car journey from many of the local tourist attractions in the area. There is a pier and slipway 2 mins walk from the property.
The Shepherds Hut design is unique in area. It is situated in a region of great scenery and beauty. Alot of the time the only noise you will hear is the sea lapping against the shoreline closeby.
  • Caherine is a warm, responsive person, of invaluable help! Do not hesitate to book with her, you will not be disappointed!

  • Catherine's place was great! Extremely close to the water, you can hear the waves from the front porch! The house was nice and warm, the bed had a heated blanket as well which was great. The only downside was the very small amount of hot water available for showering, but you just have to be very quick as it only lasted a couple minutes at most. But overall the stay was great and we would definitelystay again if we were in the area!

    Kevin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Magical place to stay. The construction car was rebuilt and furnished with great attention to detail. Catherine greeted us and showed everything. Unfortunately we only spent one night here. In summer you can certainly spend wonderful days here.

  • The Atlantic haven is a phenomenal little space to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the wild atlantic way. It is in close proximity to the cliffs of moher, alwee cave and other sites. Catherine is a great host and Rosie the dog is great company also! i'd very highly recommend staying here if you desire both comfort and quiet

    Aedán2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing night at the Haven! Great location, only a 5 minute drive from town and has a beautiful view of the ocean. Definitely a cozy experience with two people but a great value! Catherine even left us water, tea and breakfast! Would recommend for sure.

  • Michelle went out of her way to get us a second pack & play crib, which was really nice! Very good place for our family.

    Sonja & Hobbs2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s Chalet is wonderful! It really added to the enjoyment of our time in County Clare and served as an excellent home base for exploring the area (Aran Islands, Doolin, Cliffs of Moher, and more!). Michelle and her husband were both incredibly helpful in answering our questions promptly and provided a lovely experience. We were even waylaid by bad weather and ended up having to spend an extra night - it was a great place to relax for the day while we watched the storm roll in. We also loved the proximity to the cows, and Ruby (the dog) was an excellent host, and greeting committee, as well. I absolutely want to stay at the Chalet again!

  • Perfect location to get out of town and have a base along the Wild Atlantic Way and visit Cliffs of Moher and Lahinch. The space was light and modern and the host was friendly and communicative. Very warm and fitted out with everything we needed.

  • Great spot near Cliffs of Moher. Beautiful chalet behind the owner’s home right along the ocean! Lots of space and super clean. Loved the skylights in the bedrooms. It’s about a half hour drive to Cliffs of Moher. 20 minutes to Doolin. Be sure to check out some of the traditional Irish music at the pubs there at night!

    Nikki2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience staying at Michelle’s place on our first visit to Ireland. The bungalow was clean and comfortable and was in a perfect location for our trip. Michelle was always quick to respond and very accommodating. She gave us a warm welcome at check-in and gave us good recommendations about the local restaurants and groceries.

  • Amy’s place was an incredible stay right along the Wild Atlantic Way. She provided great little touches and some amazing bites for breakfast (the jam was phenomenal!). We loved waking up and opening the blinds to have a view of the ocean. Amy provided great recommendations-we spent the raining evening at Fitz’ bar in Doolin with some incredible music. Easy access to the Cliffs of Moher the next morning. We chose to drive but the walking path looked stunning for a warmer day! Would definitely recommend.

  • Excellent welcome Mej and his family besides the little dog. Comfortable accommodation, with private entrance. Good bedding. As we were traveling by bike the steep slope to get to the house is quite impressive especially when you have to go up to the calf force but we were warned in advance by our hosts. Fortunately, during the departure, Mel kindly offered to take our luggage by car to the top of the coast. This somewhat isolated house is in a beautiful location in the heart of the Burren. The walks in this region are very pleasant. We highly recommend.

    Thierry2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, 10 minutes drive from Doolin and a quarter of an hour from the Cliffs of Moher. Very large room, the necessary (and even more) for the excellent breakfast was left to us the night before (when we were not at home). Mel was a very helpful and friendly host. Impeccable cleanliness, great advice on where to eat or what to do the next day. I would go back there immediately, Highly recommended!

  • A great stay in a restful cabin

    Kevin2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Reaching the cottoge is a bit of an "adventure" along a long narrow road that leads down to some cottages at the bottom of this hill. Mel's cottage is wonderful and retains its original features. Mel a fantastic host who gave us great tips for exploring the place and prepared a great breakfast!

    Adriana2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and quiet ensuite room in a beautiful house. Very well located in the middle of a beautiful landscape in the Burren area. The breakfast was excellent and Mel was a very nice host. Too bad that we had not booked a few more nights !

    Bérangère2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Mel's place is perfectly located close to all the attractions in North Clare. The room itself was really cosy and comfortable, and the breakfast Mel left out for us each morning was wonderful. We had such peaceful nights sleeps and even got to see the stars super clearly on our last night! Mel's communication, welcome pack and attention to detail really made planning our trip very easy, and the places to eat and drink she recommended that we tried were fantastic! Milo the dog was a absolute treat too!

    Emma2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a room in the house separated by a locked door from the rest of the house. It has its own private entrance and a small outside terrace. The surroundings are beautiful. Mel is a wonderful host and very helpful. She had to pick us up from the nearby road because we were a bit lost. It was just us, directions given are perfect. We enjoyed our trip. Seen where we came for “Puffins” at the Cliffs of Moher. Would definitely recommend this B&B.

    Fred2019-07-08T00:00:00Z

  • Could not recommend Rocky View highly enough! A beautiful location and wonderful hospitality from Noel and Ita. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was the best we had in our two weeks around the West of Ireland: We tried a number of the menu choices over our three days and each was fantastic. The breakfast room has a brilliant view; a perfect start to the day. Great walks in the burren right on the door step, and Noel advised us on some other brilliant ones nearby, as well providing many other great tips and colour on the area.

    Matthew2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Noel and Ita's B&B. They were incredibly hospitable, warm, and had great suggestions for the area. The room was very clean and we appreciated having our own bathroom en suite. They have a beautiful garden outside, and the whole place is thoughtfully decorated and inviting. They also provide breakfast in the morning, which is very filling and so, so delicious. I can't say enough good things about our stay and only wish we could have stayed longer! Would definitely recommend this place, and hope one day we can return!

    Maya2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Noel and Ita were excellent hosts! They were thoughtful and made adjustments to our accommodations that suited our needs better. My friend and I loved the beautiful breakfast room overlooking the garden and the view of the sunset from our room. Also enjoyed talking with Noel, Ita, and other guests to get suggestions on where to explore during our time in the area. Highly recommend staying here!!

There is no breakfast included as such, but there is a shared guest kitchen and living area for your use, I will provide tea, coffee milk and cereal and you can cook in the kitchen as you wish, Sky TV and WIFI are available for you also.
  • Book here because this place is AMAZING!!! There are a million great things to say about this place! To begin, Annette and her place are just outstanding! She is friendly, kind and helpful. We felt right at home. The room was amazing and so nice. There is a common space for guests to use that has a kitchen and living space with a television. We wished we had booked our full trip to Ireland around this place we loved it so much. When we look for places on Air BnB we hope to meet people like Annette. Can’t stop saying enough good things about her and her place.

Luishne na Maidne (First blush of Morning) is perched on the north eastern shelf of the Caherragh valley in the heart of Burren, County Clare. It has been famously described as 'having it's own private sky and private horizon'. Here, in this protected landscape, farmers and it's other inhabitants co-exist with nature. It is not commercially developed and it's pastures, hills and fields still resonate the names that were given them by our ancestors.
I suppose one of the most noticeable qualities of the valley is it's ethereal stillness which is a much deeper level than the absence of noise. This abode was carved into a shelf as close as possible to the natural 'grikes and clints' if the Burren limestone. It is surrounded by a vast array of typical examples of Burren topography and an amazing selection of the world renowned Fauna and Flora. 'Luishne na Maidne' hosts the possibility of being either a retreat and/or an adventure, whichever your heart desires! Prior to the famine(September 1845-1852) this valley supported up to 100 dwellings and had a high survival rate due to it's closeness to the sea where people had their own plot of shoreline, They were able to harvest seaweed (fertiliser for their gardens) and had a vast knowledge of all the bounty it had to offer in terms of food. This valley has many untouched physical links to Irelands past which act as portals back to another time. The name of the abode is 'Luishne na Maidne' (Phonetically; Lush-ne na Modina) which is Irish for that beautifully descriptive term 'First Blush of the morning'. Where this abode is situated it gets the first reaching embrace of the morning sun as it creeps across the valley filling the air with light, heat and energy. Because this dwelling is on the 1st floor, it boasts the most spectacular views of an untouched Burren landscape. From the front you can observe the Caherragh river meandering it's way along the valley floor to the sea, it's the only river in the Burren that continues overland from source to sea, all the rest of them disappear through the porous limestone. On evenings when the shyness of the Irish sun relents, you can be witness to the most beautiful sunset as it leaves our valley and slips gently down behind the sea.
The Fanore costal road is part of the 'Wild Atlantic Way'. It has a fantastic beach and a wonderful view of the Aran Islands. The centre of Fanore is three minutes further on from the beach and provides a shop, post office, fishing tackle outlet, restaurant and pub. The local shop provides all the basic necessities but for a larger shop you may need to travel to Ennistymon or Kinvara both approximately 30 minutes away. There are numerous walking trails in this Valley which provide either gentle or more advanced hiking, they present spectacular views and a freshness of air that invigorates mind, body and soul. Caher Bridge garden is within walking distance of the house. It's well worth a visit for garden lovers. The local pub ' O Donohues' serves food until 9:00pm during the summer months. It has the unique character of the traditional country-style pub. The restaurant 'Vasco's' is across from the pub and presents a varied menu of organic food. Doolin which is about 20 minutes along the road is a mecca for Irish traditional music. Here, there are numerous ferries sailing to The Aran Islands. Doolin has many pubs and restaurants to choose from. The world renowned 'Cliffs of Moher' are approximately a 35 minute drive away and are a must see for all visitors to the area.
  • There are few places I've stayed that I would describe as perfect, but it is absolutely fitting for Eilish's place. We were greeted by her after arriving in the evening (it was not too difficult to find in the dark). Eilish is extremely kind and hospitable and is the exact type of person we love to have as a host. When showing us around her place, we were blown away by just how well thought out everything was. She left us with some wonderful scones. Eilish also took time to map out a potential route for us to see several of the geological and archaeological highlights of the Burren, making the most of our short amount of time in Ireland. As we made use of the place over our two night stay, we realized that there was nothing that hadn't been thought of. We had everything we could possibly need there for us, and we were able to make multiple meals and all eat together around a big table next to a fire. The beds were all extremely comfortable (and had top-sheets, unlike every other place we stayed!), the bedrooms were massive, and the bathrooms had all toiletries you might need (including large fluffy towels). The first morning we woke up, we were able to experience the view through the valley for the first time and we loved looking out the windows at it. The location itself is a good center point between the Cliffs of Moher and Galway, as well as plenty of other attractions and small towns. If you are looking for somewhere in the area, stay here - you just don't find somewhere like this often.

  • My husband, parents, and I stayed at Eilish's place during our vacation to Ireland. I think if we could give her 20 + stars, we all would. Her place was beautiful, and her hospitality unmatched. When we arrived, she had started a fire for us and made us home-made scones for breakfast. All of these touches really made us feel so very welcome and at home. The views from her place are spectacular, and the location is close to Galway and to Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Its a perfect place to stay to really experience the Irish countryside. We will absolutely stay here again during our next trip!

  • This was our favorite stay during our 10-day trip to Ireland. Eilish was kind, welcoming, and thoughtful. The space was clean, stylish and cozy, with beautiful sunsets!

  • We had a wonderful time at Eilish's place. The apartment is beautiful and full of lovely decorations. The kitchen has everything for cooking a nice dinner and the oven spends comfortable warmth. Everything is there to relax and enjoy cosy evenings after exploring the west coast of Ireland. The location is very remote which is nice and quiet. But requires to come by car. There are lots of walking routes to explore right from the door.

  • If you're not staying here while in the Cliffs of Moher / Galway area you're making a colossal life error. In fact, if you were even contemplating another AirBnB you may want to sit down and reflect on how you came to be on such an unfavorable path. Eilish's place is absolutely stunning. I agree with another poster who said that the pictures don't do it justice and it is certainly spot on. The interior is beautifully decorated; every detail feels so well thought out. The little amenity kits she prepared for us in every bedroom would make boutique hotels blush with embarrassment. The view you get from Eilish's place is simply breathtaking. The Burren is just outside your doorsteps and across the road is a picturesque winding river. In the mornings you can take your coffee and walk a few steps down the driveway to greet the horses who are peacefully taking their breakfast among the foliage. The Atlantic Ocean that is in view from the kitchen window is only 5 minutes away by car as well. Eilish is the most warm and friendly person we've ever met and she made our stay wonderful beyond expectations. We were very disappointed that we had booked other stops and locations to visit after staying at her place as we wanted to do nothing more than to spend a week there and walk the Burren every day. Don't make poor life choices; stay here and be certain that today, you made decision to be proud of!

  • You can expect to be pleasantly surprised with the style, cleanliness, and modern amenities of this home. It is quite remote, but with a car, it is a wonderful retreat not to mention gorgeous views of the countryside. It is close to Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher making it a perfect stop between Galway and the Cliffs. Although we didn’t get a chance to visit the Aran Islands or hike the Burren National Park, these sites are very close as well. Eilish is so sweet for welcoming us to the house and providing scones, wine, coffee/tea, and some groceries to cook breakfast. We had everything we needed and more ! Overall we were very happy with our stay. My favorite part was the reading nook looking out at the sunset and horses. Such a peaceful and serene home.

Walk under vaulted ceilings and enter a home that combines authentic Irish architecture with contemporary design. Sit out on the terrace surrounded by traditional stonework and curl up by the fireplace in the evening.
An Cró, spanning approx. 2196 sq feet (205 sq metres) was originally the cow shed! Following an imaginative and elegant restoration it now houses two bedrooms sleeping 4 in two super king size beds, galley kitchen, and a large, double height sitting room. Those staying in the master bedroom will enjoy panoramic views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay.
Doolin is a beautiful area with lots to see and do. Head the coast and enjoy scenic walks along the cliffs, explore The Burren, take a day trip to the Aran Islands, and head to the town pubs for traditional music and tasty local cuisine.
  • From the moment we walked into the home, we felt so blessed. It was perfect. Warm, cozy, modern with Irish charm, beds were amazing and a cozy warm fire at night made it even better. I will stay there again.

  • Perfect cottage, exactly as pictured. Finishings are beautiful. The stocked fridge when we checked in was a really nice touch. Would highly recommend.

  • We had the best stay at this cottage in Doolin. The home was clean, well decorated and larger than what we expected. Beautiful views. Would recommend to anyone!

  • Fabulous property in a fabulous location. Basically a stunning place to stay and explore Doolin, the Cliffs of Moher and the surrounding coastline.

  • Accommodation exceeded expectations, all fixtures and fittings of a high standard and very well presented with some nice design details. The house is very warm and comfortable in a very peaceful part of the countryside a few minutes drive from Doolin village. It is ideally located for day trips through north Clare and the Burren. The kitchen was stocked with homemade bread, milk and cheeses and so, if arriving late, there is no need to leave in search of basics. Our host provided us with a map with local highlights and helpful suggestions of where to visit and eat. The kitchen is well stocked with basic cookware and very well stocked with plates glasses etc. One of the bedrooms overlooks the Atlantic and you can watch the sun set while sitting on the small terrace outside that room. Each bedroom has a bathroom; the bedroom without the ocean view has a dressing room and larger bathroom to compensate! On one occasion when assistance was sought by us, we got an immediate response and assistance was provided promptly. To the extent that it matters (and it didn't to us) Irish TV only and wifi and phone could be a little patchy by times - this helps with relaxation for which this cottage is ideal.

  • Marie's home is beyond outstanding. She has gone beyond the norm with the smallest of touches that truly makes this home remarkable. We did not want to leave and are now kicking ourselves for not staying longer than just 3 nights in this beautiful part of Ireland. Our expectations were far exceeded and we hope to stay here again in the future. Words honestly cannot describe how exemplary this experience was for us. And the location couldn't be better (7 minute drive from great food, pubs, grocery stores and a 10 second walk to some of the most picturesque views that Ireland has to offer).
