Friendly, safe and quiet small town.

  • Had a great time.

  • The house is old, roughly 120 years old but is a super cool place. It is currently under renovation but completely livable. We spent part of our honeymoon here and loved it. The place is not in a tourist area but 110% worth the stay. If you stay here go outside late at night and check out the stars. It was a breathtaking view!

    Gianna2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.. best part seeing the ships pass from the deck, especially after dark

  • Great location in the UP, the upstairs deck outside of the bedrooms is by far the best part. Worth checking out!

  • Great apartment and just across the street from the St Mary's river.

  • Gerald is a wonderful host. We loved our stay. It is a truly relaxing environment with privacy. Gerald provided great details in terms of local amenities and things to do. The pool table was a wonderful surprise!

    Gregory2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying the Cast-A-Ways "get-away!" Gerald was a fabulous host. He greeted us upon arrival (in the dark and pouring rain) and helped us get settled in. We really appreciated that! His retreat is very spacious and nice! We loved the open floor plan with the kitchen and living area. The bedroom and bathroom was very spacious ( just be careful if you are tall not to bump your head on the the sloped roof). With the 2 double beds in the bedroom and the Murphy bed and Futon we had plenty of space for my husband and I and our son and friend. Everything was updated and new and clean. We really enjoyed the pool table at night with Alexa playing music for us! There also was a fire pit supplied with wood for a bonfire, but we didn't get a chance to use it. We brought our boat and just down the street (within a mile) was a boat launch. We enjoyed tooling around and fishing the St. Mary's River. We had a nice dinner at nearby Raber's Bar. On our last morning, we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise. You can see the river and sunrise from the bathroom and kitchen. We left after eating a great breakfast at Mainsail Restaurant in DeTour. We will definitely re-book if we get a chance to return to the area! Thanks for a great stay!

This property is only available from May 1st thru October 31st not sure how to do the calendar on this site. Great house in a quiet neighborhood close to town and public boat launch.
Take evening walks to town, or just sit on the porch or deck and read a book or take a nap.
The atmosphere here is piece and quite. Great salmon and lake trout fishing. And also boating
  • If you’re looking for a quiet UP retreat not far from civilization, this place can’t be beat. Extremely well-renovated, older home. It was more than comfortable for two families vacationing with 4 kids under 4. Well appointed kitchen for prepping picnic lunches or scrambling to get dinner together after a day on the island. Don’t forget to leave a few hours free to sit on the deck by the fire and listen to the music of the local church bells and the boats on the water.

    Levi2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This home is very comfortable, and tastefully decorated. It's location is convenient to Drummond Island, Sault Ste Marie, St. Ignace, Mackinac Island, a few casinos, and any other points in the eastern half of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The price for the week included a discount, so the total for seven nights ended up being about what it would cost to get a motel room. And, it was a whole house! I would stay here again, if I ever get up that way for a few days in the future.

    Sherri2019-08-24T00:00:00Z

  • Ada Street Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Clean, easy to find, enough space and just adorable!

    Ellen2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie and Scott's place absolutely charming, clean and full of little touches that gave it a unique air. The whole area was quiet and peaceful, but also friendly. We got the chance to meet a lot of neighbors, every one just as friendly as could be! We're loved the outdoor seating and spent a lot of time star gazing.

    Jerri2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a great place to stay!

    Danielle2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Ada Street Inn is such a wonderful cozy place to stay. Deb and Scott were wonderful host and we definitely would choose their home again. DeTour Village is a very small quiet peaceful town perfect for that special get away to escape the daily hustle and bustle. It is perfect for families with little or big kiddos as well. The Ada Street Inn has a nice backyard for kids to play in. We traveled to Drummond Island for a charter trip, kayaking, and the tall ship sailboat tour. Their are small restaurant's, a store and shops at DeTour Village. The businesses close early, however, with good planning things should work out fine. We brought food with us for starters. The pricing for this little gem is perfect. This is a highly recommended stay.

    Kristin2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cute little place with all the comforts of home. We enjoyed our stay in Detour for a fishing trip. Scott and Debbie replied quickly to any questions and were very helpful. Highly recommend staying here!

Welcome to Whits End properties! Enjoy our newly remodeled boathouse which boasts some of the best views that the historic Whitney Bay has to offer. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom and a queen size bed in the other bedroom. Also, the living room has a queen size sofa bed. Relax on the deck, listen to the Loons, watch the freighters pass by, kayak the historic Whitney Bay area, and experience spectacular sunsets! The living space is on a second floor (see photos).
If you need further accommodations for larger groups, an additional on-site 2 bedroom cabin may be available to rent. Please inquire on availability and costs.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whit's End! Amazing location with beautiful views and close to the ferry on paved roads. We even had cell service at the boathouse, which we weren't expecting. The boathouse was very clean and beautifully remodeled. While we were on the island we played 18 holes at The Rock, which was a very nice course. We also brought kayaks with us and kayaked in Whitney Bay at sunrise. So beautiful and peaceful with quiet water in the bay making for a leisurely paddle. The one night that it wasn't cloudy we saw amazing stars from the deck. This was a truly wonderful place to get away. All the modern amenities, but you still feel away from it all and surrounded by the beauty of nature. Highly recommend!

  • This place was absolutely perfect for us! We decided to take our honeymoon in February when it's cold in Michigan and take a mini-moon to the UP...This cabin was picture perfect and exactly what we needed. Everything was darling and very clean, everything listed was provided just as explained. The view was worth every bit of the cost and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful get away! Sherrie, the Owner was wonderful to work with! She let us stay an extra night because we loved it so much and coordinated everything for us so we didn't have to worry about a thing! We did not want to leave!! Highly recommend!

  • Douglas's house was the perfect home base for a long weekend of day trip boating adventures in Les Cheneaux Islands and the St Mary River. Clean, freshly updated, with everything you need. Parking our 17' boat was no problem. Loved being able to explore DeTour on foot for breakfast, the museum, shopping, etc. Douglas and his wife are great hosts--we had a few questions and responses were nearly instant.

The one on the beach offers beautiful views yet the one hidden in the private yard offers a sheltered spot for the windier days. The cottage is a great size. Perfect for families. • We really enjoyed our week at the barefoot beach this summer. The cottage had lots of space and was very clean, it was fully stocked with everything we needed. We spent most of our time on the beautiful beach— great out door space! Thank you for a memorable vacation.

  • great place, nice location right on the water, nice beach and lots to do, very relaxing vacation for our family, highly recommend it

  • So Corries place was excellent what I expected. It is your typical Canadian outdoors camp. Not high on frills but high on its beautiful location. This is a perfect place for a family to enjoy the outdoors. The availability to the water ! With the beach just a short walk away. Although we didn’t have time to use the two firer pits areas they diffidently are a good addition. The space was clean and the newly renovated kitchen was great. We would diffidently come back again RL from Cincinnati Ohio

Look. Listen. Breathe. Feel. Willoughby Island is a serene oasis (your own private island accessible by car)! Experience nature as it was in the beginning: sparkling, unspoiled and full of life. The whole island and house is yours, so you can have as much or as little human interaction as you'd like. Groceries, hardware, firewood, restaurants, bars, gas station and gifts are 2.5 miles away. Two kayaks and a canoe (including life vests) are available!
Listen to the waves and to the songs of the red-winged blackbird, chick-a-dee, robin, pileated wood pecker and bald eagle. Watch for deer, rabbits, turtles, frogs, ducks, sandhill crane and heron. A fire ring is setup on the north end of the island near the bay. The area is clear and protected from the wind by birch, poplar, cedar, tamarack and white pine trees. Handwritten notes left by previous guests: "We loved your house!! It was a wonderfully, peaceful, absolutely beautiful setting and the amenities are above and beyond." - Cheryl and husband "Amazing place and beautiful land you have! We look forward to visiting again!" - Scott and girlfriend
Willoughby Island and Drummond Island feature hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, boating, a 18-hole and a 9-hole golf course, one of the largest closed loop trail systems for off road ATV/ORV exploration in the United States, birding, shipwreck diving, cross country skiing, rare and beautiful "moon rock" at the Maxton Plains Alvar, spectacular nightly sunsets and a zillion stars in a sky streaked with occasional Northern Lights.
  • This was our first time using Air B&B and it was everything it was advertised! This house, it’s location, and the host were wonderful and we will 100% be back !

  • My wife and I spent a week at the cabin on Willoughby Island for our honeymoon. It was absolutely gorgeous! The living space was very open and welcoming. If you enjoy the outdoors and solitude, I would highly recommend this place for a getaway. Amy was very quick to respond when we needed her, and she was friendly and easy to talk with. We can't wait to come back out to Drummond Island some day! It was our first time on the Island and we loved it!

  • Wow. I’m not even sure where to start! This place is absolutely perfect. Beautifully designed, and in the most gorgeous setting on a tiny, private island. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of waves. We watched the sun set as we had dinner at the vintage dining table. We enjoyed a campfire in the sheltered fire pit and were awed by the number of stars that were visible. Everything was perfect, amazingly stylish, and comfortable. We cannot wait to come back.

  • The house, the location, the vibes.... we were in awe for all 3 days! The experience starts as soon as you start driving onto the island. The views from anywhere in or outside the house are outstanding! The host was very helpful, quick to reply to messages, and very organized and detailed with instructions. The house is stocked with everything you'll ever need, it is very clean, and I loved all the windows! The property is awesome, I could just stare out into the water all day, the sunset view from the property was beautiful (right over the water). This home contributed to one of the best trips I've ever had.

  • Amy’s place was absolutely perfect! It was beautiful, very clean, well stocked, spacious, and unique. It’s tucked away in a private spot and surrounded by trees and the lake. We loved hearing the lake waves through our windows everyday. The kayaks and the canoe were also a huge perk! It was a perfect place to come to enjoy some peace, nature, and just relax. I highly recommend this place to everyone. We would love to return! 😊 thank you!

  • This place is beyond. It’s so beautiful, such a good value, and such a wonderful experience. The kitchen was well stocked enough for us to cook dinner multiple nights. The kayaks were so much fun and the view is indescribable. Impeccable, highly recommended!
