Birken Cottage - Vacation in the Herbsthausen sawmill

Our three one-room apartments — Ahorn, Linde, and Birke — combine the historic charm of Herbsthausen with contemporary design. Each apartment is completely unique and has been modernized by us. They offer space for two to three people each. The apartments are part of “Herbsthausen”, an cultural project in the town of Gartow. We are renovating a historic sawmill and transforming it into a future-oriented place for art, industrial heritage, living, working, international exchange, and relaxation.

In front of the Schwerin gates is our over 100-year-old residential building with adjoining new building with two individually designed apartments. The "Gardenview" is suitable for both business and individual travelers. It is located on the 2nd floor and offers a light-flooded living room with a king-size bed, desk and small dining area with high chairs. The apartment is fantastically located between a large organic orchard meadow and an 18-hole golf course. The garden and meadow offer you plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy nature. kulturhaus wahrenberg

Unfortunately, our farm is not suitable for excessive parties. Our house was built around 1850. The house & barn of the listed 3-sided courtyard are built in oak half-timbering. There are 10 wedding linden trees around the house. In November, when the lime trees are pruned, the house can be seen in all its splendor. From May onwards, it slowly disappears behind shady foliage, and so remains wonderfully cool throughout the summer...

Sit back and relax – in this quiet, stylish place. Arrive and feel comfortable. Discover the surroundings. Walk endlessly in the nearby forest. Fishing on the lake. Maybe work on something in peace that should always be finished. Enjoy the weather. Look at the starry sky at night. You can do all that here. Or sometimes nothing... Beautiful apartment at the Hitzacker equestrian center. Horse accommodation is also possible. On an idyllic farm 4 km away from Hitzacker, we rent an apartment with its own terrace and kitchenette. From the farm it is only a few meters into the forest, which invites you to extensive rides and hikes. Well-trained dogs are allowed on request. We have a medium-sized female dog who lives with us on the property.

Our apartment is located in a cul-de-sac within walking distance of the city center of Lüchow but still very quiet between Jeetzel and the city park. It is housed with its own entrance in the separate outbuilding. Indoor swimming pool, city park, Jeetzel and the city center are within walking distance. Pets can be brought along on request. The conditions for this must be agreed in advance
