Two minutes walk and you come to The Watermill Bakery serving delicious pizza on Friday evenings, except during winter. The Tree House is close to a small productive lavender farm, Lavender magic, who sell cut flowers in season, and Mount Holdsworth, where you will be able to access a wide variety of walking tracks.

The View

On a plateau overlooking the Ruamahanga river valley is our cosy two bedroom fully self contained cottage. The views are jaw dropping, backdropped by the Tararua Ranges. On the river flats below, summer crops form a patchwork of different colours. Above, the big sky can be an endless blue or filled with rolling banks of cloud and truly spectacular sunsets. At night the wondrous canopy of stars is why the region is an official International Dark Sky Reserve. It’s all utterly peaceful.

A world away from the world -Just 5 mins from Greytown. Situated on a small organic farm in a beautiful garden. Super comfy bed, stylish, mid century decor. Wake up to birdsong, star-gaze from the outside bath while listening to the call of the Ruru. Loll by the pool or borrow the bikes to go exploring. Our rural shed is a spacious self-contained getaway with sun and views of the surrounding countryside. It is best suited for 2 guests, but can accomodate 4, with a queen size bed upstairs and a fold-out sofa in the living room. A fold out bed is available for children. We stock the kitchenette with free range eggs, locally made bread, homemade jam, butter, milk, tea and coffee. There’s a BBQ available. We’re 5 minutes walk to the Carterton shops and near the railway station.
