It is thought to be one of the oldest buildings still standing in the village, at one time a medieval council meeting house during the height of the East Anglian wool trade. With an array of period features, and nestled in the tranquility of the Suffolk countryside, it is a place to relax, recuperate, unwind and explore.

The village itself has 2 pubs and lots of walking routes nearby. Paper Mill Lock is a pleasant 30 min walk and has water sport facilities and tea room. Footpath maps available. Our converted barn is in a peaceful location and beautiful setting. In close proximity to a stunning local nature reserve and a short drive from historic Bury St Edmunds and Lavenham. The station in the local village of Thurston offers regular services to Cambridge and Norwich. The area has plenty of country walks,great pubs and restaurants, and the Suffolk coast is within an hours drive.
