Kid-friendly vacation rentals in River Shannon

I have been coming to Ireland every year since 2013.. this is one of the best places I have stayed.. quiet and peaceful.. close to the coast.. the space was fantastic.. well appointed... will be back.

Well Sean place was fantastic just like the photos. Sean was very quick to respond while is always a good sign. The house was perfect for our needs and Sean was a great host. If you're looking for a place to stay and explore the area around which has lots of places to see Sean's place is ideal place to stay.

Very nice home with a short walk to local restaurants and store. Kennans and the purple onion were our go to eating places after our days out touring. Both very good. We liked the location for walking by the river and watching the world go by. Nice to sit out the front in the Sun in the morning with a coffee. It’s not secluded but it is still very quiet.

This is the best AirBnB that I’ve ever stayed in and Conor was the best BnB host I’ve ever had. Conor goes above and beyond and has the kindest soul. If you’re a creative then this is a must stay place. Thank you Conor and Bánín (his incredible doggy) for the best stay ever!

The most beautiful view I've ever seen from bedroom window in Ireland! The wonderful view and quiet place kept in. If you had planned to stay here for just one night, you will be satisfied. Other days too, especially in autumn. If anyone ever asks me : do you want return to this place? I'll say yes!

Patrick was such a great host. His response to our messages were very quick. The location is great for going to Galway and surrounding areas. The house was very comfortable and quiet. The best thing is the view and watching the sheep in the fields.

Kerry's place was the perfect base we needed. everything is as described. such a functional space, large kitchen with plenty of storage, comfy bed, great pillows and a large en suite with a brill shower. driveway parking was a great bonus. Kerry was the perfect host and had a binder with helpful information about the house and some recommendations of local places to eat. Super handy to a large supermarket too for getting all your essentials. would definitely stay again! Thanks Kerry!

I was blown away by the Dream Barn... wasn't sure quite what to expect beforehand, but my GOODNESS! Jim has thought of absolutely everything. The cottage is very maximalist, but in a fun, eclectic way. Old typewriters, sewing machine, *2* record players to choose from and a kitchen with everything you might think you need and then some... and the place is VERY clean! Neighboring cows came over and checked us out through our window, and we fed the chickens that share the patio. Several kitties stopped by to check us out. I would go out of my way to stay here again. Jim is ridiculously undercharging for such an incredible treat of a place. You'll contemplate moving to Moynalty after your stay, just so you could have Jim as a neighbor and friend.

Our stay here was head and shoulders above any place we have stayed in before. The hosts were genuine in their welcome. The place spotless and had all we needed. It is truly hard to fault. Incredibly good value compared to other places in the area

Ray and Aisling were wonderful hosts. The cottage was not only beautifully furnished but also spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed, and the kitchen was very well equipped. For us, the location was perfect - quiet and in less than 10 minutes to Arhenry, with supermarkets and restaurants close by. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous few days staying at The Stables. Breda and Joe have a lovely country property. We love the goodie left for us from Breda. Scones and bread both home made. The cottage is so well equipped with most things you’d need to get by but a Centra only a few minutes away has lots of options. The bed was so comfortable as were the pillows and the fluffiest feather doona. The cottage is heated but we felt we didn’t need heating on as it’s very warm inside anyway but great if it turns cold. A bonus is the washer and dryer, we’d not been able to wash for several day so felt like all home comforts were covered. We loved the kitchen and dining area, great for preparing our meals. Breda has a vegetable and herb garden which she was happy for us to use, I made good use of salad stuff and herb. We got to meet Joe who was brings the horses back into the sheds, we got to see an 8 day old foal, such a highlight for me coming from Australia’s beach scene. We highly this place Fiona

We were visiting to go by an old friends grave nearby, but in the end the location is really very convenient. We were an hour from Shannon airport which was nice because it was rural, but close. We had an extra few hours and popped down to Cork. We will stay here going forward if travelling to or from Shannon. Communication was excellent. Just all good!

Had a great one night stay! We were a small group of friends running away for a wholesome mental health break!! Donncha & team couldn’t have been more helpful, providing us with great recommendations and helping us out with any questions we had. The pods themselves are gorgeous and spacious due to how cleverly they are laid out. We especially enjoyed the small touches (records, board games and scones!!) Couldn’t recommend it more :)

Marion was a lovely and attentive host. She gave us very clear instructions on how to find her place. She checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure we were doing ok. Her hideaway is very peaceful and situated in a great place for exploring the west coast of Ireland. We had a great time and would love to return!

I enjoyed my two night stay in Cormac’s so much, I felt so at home. Everything was perfect, the views looking out through the old sash windows of an old mill and the canal literally steps from the front door with the most peaceful walks. There are plenty of amenities in the village and the village itself feels very safe, welcoming & old-worldly - it’s incredibly pretty. The apartment itself has a beautiful stone & brick front which you can see from the photos and inside huge sash windows creating an airy feel. The apartment was super clean like it was brand new with everything you would need. I slept very well both nights. The bathroom is generous in size and the shower is a real treat! Not only is it a big wet space it has a huge, powerful shower with double shower head & easy to work. There was of hot water at all times during my stay, not just in the morning. Cormac has the heating of the apartment set just perfect so it was never cool or too hot. I highly recommend!

Mary was so lovely and welcoming. She was easily contactable and so warm and friendly. We were keen to have a bit of privacy and she left us to our own devices to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The location of the apartment is really spectacular. Sitting in the hot tub looking out on the lake was a real highlight of the trip.

Beautiful condo walking distance from downtown Galway, very clean and had all amenities we needed plus a full kitchen! We loved staying here and would definitely recommend it. Deni was a great host and very responsive and communicative.

We loved staying here. So peaceful, quite and had Horses, donkeys, and cattle close by. Very close to Shop's, Pubs, and amenities. Would strongly recomend for a time away.

We carefully read and followed the advice of the previous guests and that‘s why we didn‘t stay for just one or two day‘s but five! We truly felt welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet here. And yes - every day we had the loveley company of the sweet four-legged friend :) A wonderful stay in an incredibly beautiful landscape! The Curlew Beag was just perfect. The accommodation was very comfortable and had everything that I needed. Seán was very helpful, yet unobtrusive. The location is stunning and the perfect hub for touring Connemara. Top notch!

First time having stayed in Airbnb. And Helen’s certainly exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately it was so relaxing we didn’t want to go out . Cleaner than any hotel. Definitely 💯 want to go back. My paradise
