Cottage vacation rentals in Ripley

We’ve just come back from a short stay at Jacks cottage, this was our first booking through Airb&b so we didn’t really know what to expect, we needn’t of worried as we thought Jacks cottage looked even better in the flesh than in the pictures so did it disappoint. The place was spotless when we arrived which is great as it put us all at ease, we felt at home straight away. Jacks cottage is situated in a small and very quiet village, honestly there is no noise. We live in a busy town with road noise so going to sleep at night with no sound but the birds singing was lovely. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a day out walking and again was spotless. The cottage is in a perfect location to explore the Peak District with some amazing walks right on the doorstep, we particularly enjoyed Bakewell, The Chatsworth estate and finding the very local Robin Hoods cave ( what 3 words assets.joined.offer if you struggle to find it). Lia's cottage was really lovely. It was clean, beautifully furnished, and with a great sized garden. The location was peaceful, in a nice little village. Lia was really helpful and communicated well. I'd happily recommend the stay.

We have just returned from a stay at The Stables. We both loved the accommodation and the location. The hosts made us feel very welcome and there was some lovely touches inside for when we arrived. The location is very peaceful and tucked away but also within walking distance of several pubs all serving good quality food for reasonable prices. We would recommend and come back again without question.

This was our second stay at The Stable House. The cottage is beautiful, well presented, and spotless. We love the peaceful area, and the views are stunning. The hot tub is a brilliant place to relax on an evening. Sandra and Steve are excellent hosts. They sent detailed instructions on how to access the property, provided a beautiful welcome basket on arrival and gave a range of suggestions about the local area. We particularly enjoyed our meal at the Devonshire Arms on our final evening. The cottage is well situated to visit a range of different places in the area or to pop into Nottingham itself. Would definitely stay again.

Caroline's place was lovely, a peaceful break in the countryside! A reasonable distance from some of the attractions of the Peak District, including the Tissington Trail and Thor's Cave. The village was quaint and we had a lovely meal in the local pub, The Sycamore (recommended by Caroline). The only downside was the typical British summer weather raining down on us - wish us better luck next time!

Wood Cottage is absolutely beautiful. The house is well equipped and perfectly maintained. The setting is extraordinary with beautiful gardens with plenty of privacy and peace. Thanks to Samantha and Andy’s instructions it’s also easy to find, whereas the post code is a little more difficult. Their communication was proactive and timely, but not at all intrusive. The sauna, plunge pool and hot tub are a real treat, although the hot tub is a little temperamental in that we struggled to get some of the jets to work. However, given that is the only room for improvement we could identify on the accommodation, it’s clear that a stay at Wood Cottage comes highly recommended and we hope to return!

Beautiful cottage set in wonderful grounds with a playhouse for the little ones. The pool was great too. Such a great place to stay, and under 10 minutes from Ashbourne. Around 30 mins to kid friendly hiking/walking in the Dales. Highly recommend.

First time I’ve used Airbnb and am I glad to stay we were fortunate enough to stay at Katie’s cottage! It was exactly as described, 100% accurate in terms of the pictures and the host (Katie) herself was a genuine, amazing soul! Not many things are perfect, however this was as close to perfect if it’s what you’re looking for! Loved it!

Very walkable location! We stayed here because of chatsworth house and kept saying how much we love the area! The kitchen was stocked with essentials. The stairs were a little steep but nothing we couldn’t handle with a little bit of caution and the railing. Absolutely lovely stay! Thank you!

We had a lovely time at Matchbox cottage it was very cosy and clean and had great local pubs, walks on the doorstep. Hope to visit again soon :)

Carolyn and Stephen met us on our arrival. They were very friendly and gave us useful information on walks and local restaurants. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and tidy. Beautiful large kitchen diner with all the facilities you need. Nice size bedrooms and shower bath bathroom. One of the best places we have stayed. Loved being next to the horses and speaking to their owners while meeting their beautiful animals. Amazing place, Amazing time. Thank you. We will definitely be back.

We've just returned from a very relaxing few days at the Hideaway. It's a lovely location with amazing views, sitting on the balcony of a morning just listeing to the birds, seeinf the frogs in the pond & a visit from the cat next door. Corrie was on hand if we had any questions and recommended some amazing walks and areas to visit. Our dog even had her own towel and bowls, all provided by Corrie.

What a beautiful cottage and garden. Lots of space, character, and flexibility of use. Well stocked, useful kitchen and comfortable, longe, dining room and bedrooms. Lots of extras such as games, kitchen welcome pack and even dog treats! For us, perhaps the standout was the beautiful, sizeable gardens where we started and ended each day with morning coffee, sundowners and, happy hounds. Would heartily recommend, and hope to return.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Chris and Jenny are fantastic hosts. The cottage is in a beautiful village and a short distance from so many picturesque locations. The cottage is easy to find and is absolutely immaculate with everything you need for a fantastic stay. It was perfect for us as a family. We were not ready to come home and will certainly be in touch with Chris and Jenny to organise a further stay in the future.

What a fabulous place! We were greeted by Socks the sheep and his two companions and that was the start of our welcome. The small garden was well-kept and the view was just amazing. We walked into the property and straight away felt at home. The lamp had been lit and everything was well set out and absolutely spotless. As we explored, we found a well-stocked firewood basket, a jug of fresh milk (in the fridge) and a tin which was full of really chocolatey brownies (yum!). The kitchen had oils, seasonings and well stocked cupboards which were full of every plate, dish and glass you could need. Jane had provided several tea towels, washing up liquid, cling-film, tin foil, paper towels and napkins. The bathroom had toiletries and big, white, fluffy towels. In the bedroom, the bedding was clean and crisp and best of all - the most comfortable mattress (away from home) that we have ever slept in. It really was a home away from home. Can’t wait to stay again.

A beautiful place to stay to take in the best of Derbyshire and beyond. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, lovely extra touches such as dvds, toys and games. The most beautiful setting in the countryside but just a 5 min drive to Ashbourne which is a lovely market town. Fantastic hosts, responsive to queries. Couldn't improve our stay, we were sad to leave and would love to return.

Summer Cottage is in such a beautiful setting for ALL seasons of the year! Jo & Paul have set it up lovingly with their own personal touches and the views of the open countryside, especially from the swing-seat in the garden, are amazing! So quiet, so relaxing and so well-equipped for short or long stays - they really have thought of everything. We found that accessing other parts of the Peak District is so easy from the cottage: The Jervis Arms is a 5-minute walk from the end of the drive and is a wonderful 'local' for drinks and for food. Going further afield, Ashbourne, Castleton, Edale, Chatsworth House are all in easy reach. Thank you both for making our stay a delight!

John is a very good host with useful tips and good company together with Judiith. The cottage is lovely and the garden is absolutely stunning. Well-situated in the Peak District.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Mereview. The cottage was spotlessly clean with lots of thoughtful special touches. The bed was super comfortable with beautiful, quality bed linen, pillows etc… we looked forward to going to bed and difficulty getting up in the morning! Lovely view from the house over the pretty garden and to the mere. Fantastic large shower, lovely towels and toiletries. Would highly recommend stay here.

We had a lovely stay here. Made a short weekend into a relaxing break. With access to a car, this a great stay for a nice private cottage near all the historic locations of Derbyshire. Gorgeous communal area fit for family board games and wine by the fire. Would recommend.
