Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Richmond

A friend and I stayed here for a 24 visit to Richmond. This is a great walkable location.. lots of restaurants and bars. Parking was great. The house itself was even more charming in person. We loved the high ceilings, old hardwood floors and original moldings. The place was very clean and everything was easy to use. Kristin gave us clear instructions and she was very responsive. I believe there was mention of the noise from the restaurant across the street where there is a large outdoor patio and close enough to hear lots of loud chatting. However, it was not a problem whatsoever as it is not a ruckus-y bar and it also closes at 11pm. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

I am always impressed when an Airbnb host gets it right. And Tristana gets it right. Her lovely home is just as described. Charming, comfortable and convenient. My husband and I used it as our base for a concert we were attending at the new Allianz Amphitheater on the James River in Richmond. It was a quick Uber ride from the neighborhood, and we loved the fact that we were able to walk to a wonderful place, recommended by Tristana, for dinner. Once we parked, we never had to move the car again. The neighborhood is quiet and tree-lined, with ample street parking. We loved sitting on the front porch listening to the sounds of nature. And Tristana has literally thought of providing everything you could think of to make your stay wonderful. I mean who has lens cleaning solution available for your use? Tristana does. I would not hesitate to stay here again for any future visit to Richmond. I highly recommend.

This home and this neighborhood is old and completely charming. Walking inside through the front door just feels good— everything is tastefully furnished and decorated with just the right touch of modern amenities. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Truly well done and a big thank you to our hosts! Blair was so responsive and helpful. We loved our time here and would absolutely stay here again.

An amazing place to stay in the Fan district, walkable to so many great places. Extremely responsive host, great communication and even anticipates needs. She generously had bottled water delivered when the city of Richmond was under a boil water advisory while we were there. The house is a lovely with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and nice outdoor space as well. Would def stay again!

Usually I am a little apprehensive about sharing a space with the owners but my mind changed with this air bnb. Felt private, everything was clean amd very chic. In a secluded peaceful area but still driving distance from Richmond city center. A great place!

What a lovely place! The blue bungalow is so stylish and artistic ! The owner is super friendly and responsive. Everything is sparkling clean. We had never stayed at the North Side before and we fell in love with the neighborhood! Kristy’s boutique is in walking distance and it’s super cute as well. We also loved the Stir Crazy Cafe for lattes and biscuits in the morning. I highly recommend this listing

We had a great stay! The hosts were very friendly and communicated promptly throughout the entire process. They accepted our booking quickly and even sent over a guide before our check-in, which was super helpful—especially since we were traveling with kids and like to plan ahead. One thing to note: the streets in the area get pretty dark at night. We’re from the city, so we’re used to more lighting, but it seems totally normal for a place like Richmond and didn’t feel unsafe—just something to keep in mind if you’re not familiar with the area. Overall, a smooth and welcoming experience. Would definitely stay again!

This was a great place to stay in Richmond right at the top of Church hill. It’s so adorable and has a great view from the apartment. Stacie was very responsive and helpful in her communication and recommendations for places to stay+visit in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick stay and pass through town for a couple of days.

A beautiful home with a lively yard to enjoy. We felt comfortable from the minute we walked in. Lovely neighborhood of parks and beautiful older homes. Not a central location but an easy drive to museums and shopping districts.

We stayed for a volleyball tournament. We were able to get there by walking in under 10 minutes. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores. The canal walk is close and there is a playground across the street.

This was such a lovely place to stay, very convenient to lots to do but also very quiet and peaceful. Melissa was so nice. A great stay!!!

It all comes down the moment you walk through the door! We parked in the back of the house off the alley, a bit tricky to figure out at first, entered the door code and entered a fabulous space. The kitchen was bright, cheerful and clean. The air conditioning was cranked on, thankfully as it was a hot humid day. The big question was which of the 2 bedrooms? We chose the bedroom near the living space, figuring the front bedroom on Main Street could be noisy…though the neighborhood ended up being quiet. Alyssa and Donnie seemed to think of all our potential needs. The wi-fi was easy to connect to our devices, the kitchen was well organized, the bathroom was stocked with soaps, plenty of towels (wash, hand, bath and makeup) even the pantry had a few staples. Overall, I would rate the experience as EXCELLENT, from the first moment to the last. We will definitely stay here again on the next visit to Richmond.

This simple condo was clean and suited our business purpose, but it's quite sparse regarding extra features, or kitchen supplies. It was clean and Christian was pleasant, and communicated very well - even trying to replace a piece of furniture during our 3 day stay. Only note for single women or families - the neighborhood isn't the nicest, there's a good number of vagrants. But, it wasn't unsafe, we had no issues. If you just need a clean & quiet place to stay near Richmond, it worked great!

Wendy’s place was just as described. It was very cozy and in a beautiful, walkable neighborhood. She made us feel right at home with bread, croissants, fruit and a stocked fridge. She left us a lovely letter with instructions and information. She was very accommodating and let us check out late since our train didn’t leave until 5PM. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Very convenient to the Richmond Convention Center. A good home base for being out and about. The parking add on was a plus. The chat messages were good. You can tell they are automated, but they provided relevant info when needed.

Reagan's place is a great centrally located base of operations if you're visiting downtown Richmond. It's clean quiet and secure. Access to the building and parking are a little tricky but she's provided very detailed instructions that make it easy. Although our stay was brief, Reagan was a lovely host, a pleasure to meet, and very responsive. Highly recommended for RVA visits!

Great place to stay because you're just a few short blocks away from Cary Street, where there are lots of great stores and restaurants. We walked over several times to get coffee and go to a restaurant, and then shopping the next morning. The apartment is not "new" -- it's in one of the many old houses that line the street. But it was fun and had some character. The bed might be a little soft for some people, but I was comfortable.

Gabrielle's apartment was so thoughtfully designed. She gives warmth to minimalism, creating a serene environment in the middle of a bustling neighborhood. Bonus prize — she's an artist and the apartment is full of her intriguing work!

I had a great long weekend visit being back in Richmond for a reunion. I arrived shortly after a city water crisis ended and she immediately reached out letting me know it had ended and what the city recommended before using the water in the apartment

Great place to stay in Richmond!

Comfortable place in a great location. Rooftop deck has great views of the neighborhood and sunset. Place was comfortable and clean, with character, fitting for an old city building, like old tile fireplaces and gas lamps, heart pine floors. Loved it!
