Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

EmilyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Lakeside Barn w/ fantastic views & Hot-Tub

KarenRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Sally and David’s place was beautiful. It was decorated tastefully and was just the right size for the two of us and our border terrier We were welcomed by a box of goodies for the three of us! There was a great pub and a cafe in Hebden, both within easy walking distance and the surrounding countryside was just lovely.

‘The Hideaway’ amidst the Nidderdale Hills

GillRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We absolutely loved The Hideaway and wished we'd been able to stay for more than one night. Louise was so friendly and helpful, and although we didn't get to meet, we had everything we wanted and quick help when we messaged her with questions about where to eat etc. The Hideaway is immaculately clean and so stylish. The bed was super comfy and the shower fantastic. The kitchen was spotless and well stocked with utensils and crockery and Louise had kindly left us fresh eggs (from her gorgeous free ranging chickens, who came to say hello as we arrived), fresh milk and bread and a bakery treat each. It's a light, bright and welcoming apartment with beautiful views over Nidderdale. We had complete privacy and even a little garden space with picnic table and fabulous view. We were delighted to wake to the gentle calls of the curlews in nearby fields and we felt truly 'on holiday'. The sad part was leaving .. we really hope to be back soon and to explore this amazing part of Yorkshire

Our stay at Barry and Rachel's house in the beautiful village of Hawes was outstanding! Barry and Rachel's house has a welcoming feel with the light filled rooms and rich decor throughout. The cosy fire place adds to the overall charm of the home as does the luxurious bathroom! Barry & Rachel are excellent hosts, quickly and happily responding to any queries we had and updating us along the way with any additional information.

Great Kettle Barn - Dog friendly cottage for 2.

CharlotteRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We have had a fantastic stay at Sue’s place. The cottage was so homely and spacious. Great Asby itself is such a quiet and peaceful location and is perfectly situated to get out to the lakes, via car, or the dales for a good walk. The local pub was superb for food and drinks and all locals were super friendly. Sue and Fitz were such friendly and attentive hosts who also left some lovely and much appreciated treats in the cottage for us to enjoy on our arrival. We would love to come back. Thanks again for a brilliant stay. 😊🤩

Elm Tree Cottage stunning Dales cottage and garden

HannahRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a great stay at Elm Tree Cottage! The house is beautifully decorated, really clean and they’ve thought of everything you may need during your stay. After travelling 3 hours it was great to arrive to a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, cake and bottled water - helped us out before our Tesco delivery arrived! (Thank you again!) The local area is so peaceful, the people are really nice and the walks are endless. Ed and Caroline are great hosts, they respond quick and provide lots of information over messages and also in the cottage. We visited the local pub and enjoyed the fish and chip van that goes there every Thursday! The cottage is a great base to then explore walks further out and lots of lovely towns not too far to visit.

Stunning Views over the Swale, Barn Cottage.

LauraRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a lovely stay in the cottage over New Year’s Eve. The wood burner made it feel very cosy, and it’s really well equipped - it has pretty much everything you might need for a few nights stay. The location is perfect for walking - we did a couple straight from the cottage, with really varied landscapes which were absolutely stunning, including rivers, big vistas and farmland, ending with an excellent pub in Gunnerside. Just a couple of things, which wouldn’t bring my review score down but worth noting - we couldn’t get the washing machine to work, which didn’t really matter to us but worth checking with Harriet if it’s an essential. Also, the hairdryer wasn’t great so worth bringing your own if your hair takes hours to dry like mine! Lastly, the sound system is pretty old and doesn’t have Bluetooth, so better bring a speaker if you like listening to music. Overall, we loved the cottage and had a fantastic stay!

Manor House Cottage self catering rural location

StephenRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Judi’s cottage is perfect in every way. With high quality furnishings, it’s well presented, in excellent condition, spotlessly clean and in a very peaceful location. Whilst it’s close to the main house, the cottage has it’s own private entrance and garden space, with the hosts being very respectful of guest privacy. The gardens are amazing and a great place to unwind. The location of the cottage makes an ideal base for visiting the main attractions in North Yorkshire and beyond. We would be delighted to stay here again on our next visit to the area.

Crow Hall: Luxury Holiday Cottage

JessicaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Nicola’s cottage was beyond lovely—the views and the quiet setting alone would have been enough, but the cottage itself is extremely comfortable and spacious. There were several small touches that just went above and beyond; there was an amply stocked snack basket at check in, there were flashlights in all the rooms to help navigate at night, and the bath products were high quality and fresh. The washer/dryer worked well, and the kitchen was well-stocked. The lane is quite narrow and it was a very close thing getting our car into the parking spot, so I’d suggest making sure you have a more narrow vehicle. We can’t wait to return.

The Barn has fantastic views of Wensleydale.

IanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A great location from which to walk the dales. The barn has all the necessary amenities. Good access to the local pubs for evening meals saved us a lot of effort and the food was exellent. You do need to be fairly fit and agile to access the double bed due to the beams, both low and high but once in it was comfortable. We loved it.
