There’s a cozy fireplace for snuggling and a second floor balcony for coffee or cocktails. The front yard has a fire pit and river views. The cottage’s 1st floor features an open liv/din/kit area, full bath with large shower and a covered patio. The 2nd floor features a large loft bedroom with a queen bed.

The Alton Cottage is a charming, newly refurbished 1820s guest house- formerly a summer kitchen to the original farm house. Views are of rolling fields and their bovine occupants. We are within 30 minutes of almost 20 wineries and another 20 breweries, 5 min to Airlie, and only 5 mi to Old Town Warrenton. We are also close to several antique stores, farmers markets and Shenandoah National Park. We strive to make every guests stay special.

Hanover Cottage offers everything you need to have a wonderful stay in downtown Fredericksburg. It is walking distance to restaurants, bars, art galleries, shops, train station, etc., and less than two blocks from Sunken Road and the 1862 Civil War battlefield, only 3 miles from I95. Street parking is available. We respectfully request smokers not consider booking as smoking or vaping is prohibited in the cottage as well as on the property.
