Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

Less than a 1/2 mile from the main snowmobile/Atv trail, close to Mont Ripley, Swedetown, Mont Bohemia. Our home is centrally located in the heart of the Keweenaw. It’s an old mining house that we’ve just recently renovated, so we’re still working on getting it to be at its best for our guests. My place is located on the west facing shore of the Keweenaw peninsula, and in the summer we get gorgeous sunsets here every night! 5 minutes away from McLains State Park. 7 miles from the airport. Stay in a cozy quiet cabin on the second floor with lots of windows and natural light. In the fall, we get amazing fall colors all around the cabin.
