Cottage vacation rentals in Poolewe

Another long stay at Forge End has come to an end for my self and work colleague. Again a big thank you to Alea for accommodating us and looking after us over the past 13 weeks and during the booking process. Forge End has been a real home from home for us and has made a long period working away from home a really enjoyable. Your home in Applecross is real find for us and if/when we are required to visit Applecross you will be our first choice every time. Thank you again from both of us.

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

We had an amazing couple of days in this awesome Airbnb. Michelle gave us a warm welcome, when we arrived. The house is a perfect place to explore the Isle of Skye and relax in the hut tub in the evening and enjoy the sea view. We would have wished to stay longer and will definitely be back. One hundred percent recommended.

Such a beautiful little get away with so many little hidden gems nearby! Was quiet 24/7 and we loved the peace and the amount of sun the garden and hot tub got. Such a cosy cottage and made us feel at home straight away, worth the drive! Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

The house was wonderful - we were delighted with both the location and with the property. The house was immaculate, and beautifully furnished with some really lovely pictures and objects throughout. The rooms were all good-sized and bright with the kitchen/dining area overlooking the garden a real standout. It was very well maintained and it felt like a proper home from home. The location was really lovely too - nice and quiet with a very short walk to the beach. We particularly enjoyed our walks around the area and along to Chanonry Point to look for the dolphins. A local pub and a lovely restaurant were close by too which was a bonus! Our host, Eva, provided us with clear and concise information prior to our arrival and messaged us a couple of times during our stay to make sure that all was in order. This was very much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the property to others, and we certainly plan to visit again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Betty’s Lookout! Incredible place, with stunning views. Spent my 30th birthday here, and I couldn’t have imagined a better place. The only thing was the hot tub could have been a little bit hotter, but was still nice to soak in for a while!

Lovely place , super clean with everything you would ever need for a short/long stay .super responsive when messaged too ! What a great place ! Only issue is parking on and off the drive can be super tight due to the neighbours parking outside the drive other than that what a place !

This place saved our holiday! We were camping in the Cairngorms and ended up with a catastrophic failure of our tent on the second night. Booked this beautiful cottage at 3:30am and checked in just over 12 hours later! Communication from Laura was fab, and she was always on hand with any queries we had. Delightful little cottage, and the bonus of a hot-tub and sauna made for a very different holiday than we had planned in a soggy tent. Would highly recommend, and would certainly look to go back if we stay in this part of Scotland again

Beautiful cottage. Felt out of the way but was close to road into portree. Very warm building, bathroom and rooms superb. Would highly recommend and revisit. Visiting sheep was an added bonus!

Excellent Lovely place and spotless Every thing you can want Loved it

An absolutely amazing holiday home - we had a lovely family weekend away at Hilary’s place and enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful surroundings as well as the very tasteful decor. This is a very comfortable cottage with a pleasant atmosphere and everything you would need for an enjoyable stay. Hilary is friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure that guests are well catered for, and the children and dog loved the huge garden. There are lots of things to see and do in the surrounding area - on this trip we visited NTS Culloden Visitor Centre and Battlefield, Cawdor Castle garden, Brodie Castle, Clava Cairns, and some dog friendly garden centres. We loved our stay so much we have booked to return again for another long weekend next year, and we would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a peaceful stay near Nairn. There are beautiful beaches near by and lots of sites of historic interest.

Very cozy home in Luib. There are NO restaurants nearby, either cook at home or eat before you will reach there. Wonderful view from therrace across the Loch to the opposite mountains

very, cute cottage with many small details. good for visits and hikes in the northern area of isle of sky. wonderful sunsets. we stayed with a family of 4 and a dog and really liked the coziness.

Always adore staying at Owl Cottage. This trip was cut short due to poorly pooch but will definitely be back.

A lovely stay at Blaeberry Cottage. It had everything I needed for a 3 night stay, very well equipped and very clean. A lovely garden for the dog to roam around. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful house and location, next to a stream, set in woodland and much bigger than we expected. The beds were super comfortable and there was everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Maggie popped in to see us on arrival and on the day we left just to say there was no rush to check out for 10.00am. She had even turned on the heating as although we were visiting in May, the weather had turned cold. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

What a lovely little gem this place is. Very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The area is beautiful, wish we had longer to explore. We only used one of the listed restaurants, The Bistro, and although it was a bit pricey- it is worth every penny- the food is amazing. Thank you Emma and Andrew- you have done a great job with this cottage. Good communication and good directions. 😊 Overall- we would highly recommend this property.

Andy's place is absolutely outstanding - the nicest place we've stayed in during our travels around Scotland. It is spacious, tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean, and quiet - we slept so well there. Andy was very helpful when we contacted him - a very nice guy. I would definitely recommend his cottage to other guests.

Fossil Cottage is an absolute gem! We loved our time there and cannot wait to go back. For us, it was all about the idyllic location, on top of which, the place is exactly as described: clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. Despite being slightly off the beaten track, it is only a short distance off the main road hence conveniently placed for the amenities in Broadford or Kyle as well as for exploring the rest of this wonderful island. Our thanks to Fiona for being a great host, we hope to see you again before too long.

Ian and Linda were fantastic and very kind hosts, really made us feel very welcome and even put out some snacks and wine for us in the kitchen which was a great touch. The location of Plockton itself is stunning and peaceful and we had a great fish and chips at The Plockton Shores, a short walk away! Thank you again Ian and Linda!

What a stay, what a host – 7 stars out of 5! This was one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had. The home is beautifully detailed with true Scottish charm, located right in the Highlands along the NC500 route. We were three people – a couple and a cousin – and we had everything we needed for a comfortable and memorable stopover. The host went above and beyond – from a warm welcome with postcards to stocking the fridge with milk and offering a generous breakfast spread, including pancakes and cereals. It truly felt like home. The surroundings were peaceful and calming, with sheep in the nearby fields and fresh Highland air – a perfect escape. Though we only stayed for one night, we wish we had booked for longer. The host is a wonderful woman, and her husband kindly gave us a tour of the home in her absence – such a kind and welcoming gesture. She even came to see us off when we left and gave us some great local recommendations. I’m really glad we found this place.

My wife and I stayed at The Old Croft House while celebrating our 20th anniversary. Everything was absolutely perfect. The host was extremely helpful with instructions and recommendations, the house was clean, well stocked with essentials, and had every amenity we could have needed. The house and surrounding property were incredible, with stunning views and an abundance of things to do to suit most any taste. We especially recommend dinner at Atholl House a short drive away in Dunvegan. You should make reservations, but the food and host are amazing. Skye itself was also magnificent. We definitely recommend taking the walk out to Coral Beach. It’s an easy 20-25 minute walk and will give you breathtaking views and we were lucky enough to have a good bit of solitude even though the car park seemed a bit busy.

Beautiful Croft in an amazing location surrounded by a loch and stunning gardens - definitely recommend.
