Two nights at Lu and Dan's place. The family are very welcoming and friendly. Having read all the reviews about "Lu's excellent breakfast", we were so looking forward to it, especially as we had a back-to-back appointments the next day. However, upon arrival, Lu told us "no breakfast." she did not want to do breakfast anymore! I was not informed about this during my communication with Dan, and we were rather disappointed as we had to spend time dashing out the next morning looking for somewhere to eat. This aside, we still highly recommend this place which is clean, quiet and comfortable. The bonus also the fact you can park your car right outside your window!

This really is an idyllic spot. While attached to the owners house, it feels private. The barn itself is very tastefully done and was a larger space than I’d anticipated. The garden area with seating is pretty and our dog enjoyed herself exploring away. It’s off the beaten track in a very picturesque spot ideal for great walking. The owners (who we briefly met & who were helpful & polite) have been upfront about the state of the road leading to the property. In reality, it’s only the hill part of this which is ‘testy’ if you don’t have an SUV/4WD (& we don’t). We decided from day 2 to park the car in Houghton - if you come out of the property, turn right, it’s a 2 minute walk to Houghton. Very close to the start of this public path in Houghton on the main road is public off road parking for a couple of cars. This worked for us but obviously it’s public parking and you can’t guarantee a space & it’s at the owners risk. All in, we had a lovely couple of days - thank you!

We had a fantastic night's stay after a very long day of walking. Everything lived up to and exceeded our expectations including the beautiful setting! The beds were super comfy (which was much appreciated after our walk), shower excellent and all the facilities were perfect. We had a delicious meal at the Boot Inn (highly recommend) and enjoyed Rosie's lovely breakfast on the terrace. The packed lunch kept us going on our walk to Winchester the next day. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful village and hope to return.

Fantastic location. We crave peace and quiet and this location is superb. Ginny was very easy to deal with and met us on arrival. Superb host, fantastic location and room and beautiful breakfast laid on for us. Highly recommend and we will definitely return one day. Thank you Ginny for a wonderful stay.

My family had a blast. The area was very scenic and close enough to be a short drive to a number of attractions on the coast. We went to Llulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The River Arms and the Fox Inn both had great food and had takeaway available. Roger was super nice and allowed our kids to feed their pigs, goats, and horses, which they loved!

Anda and Chris were so lovely, welcoming and supportive! I would always come back with my whole family! She even put dog bowels, a bed and toy out for our dogs! Absolutely lovely and personal stay! Thank you!!

It was an absolute pleasure to stay in. I would happily live there. Had absolutely everything you need and would easily suit a family stay as well. The place was lovely and clean and welcoming (a home from home). There was always hot water available and the bathroom is lovely and spacious. My friend even took their card so that she could recommend it to others. I live in the area and it is just a very short walk to a couple of local pubs and if you are looking for a getaway you are just a short drive from beaches or you have the forest. Cannot recommend it enough.

Amaizing annexe. Kim's place is located in the quiet neighbourhood. In a walking distance to beautiful river Hamble and the local marina. It is specious, spotless and very well equipped. Decorated with a great taste. This lovely place is provided with everything you need even for a longer stay. It is conveniently placed close to Tesco extra and bus stop to Southampton and Portsmouth. Kim and Ian were very friendly and always happy to help. We had a wonderful stay and we will definitely return. Kate&Robert

Accommodation was great and very spacious. Very peaceful and good location for exploring. Very well equipped especially the kitchen and utility room and little touches were greatly appreciated. Thoroughly recommend

We had a lovely time at Shaun and Helen's place. The accommodation is very clean and spacious with a large kitchen and bathroom. It is well equipped with anything you could want. The place is very peaceful and having access to the terrace overlooking the fields and the occasional steam train was a lovely bonus. Shaun was great, giving us privacy but always available to answer our questions via the app.

What an absolute gem! We had the most wonderful time, nettled in the new forest amongst the wild animals in the New Forest. We came for a 4 day mini break to be immersed in the greenery and birdsong. Rachael and her family were so welcoming, kept up in the loop with everything and made sure we felt comfortable whilst also giving us space to come and go. They left eggs from the hens, a box of goodies, milk and freshly cut flowers. We rode the bikes through the New Forest from the doorstep, which they kindly let us use without charge! Honestly, it was a dream! We went to Moors valley parkrun on Saturday morning, Just a 20 min drive. We also went to Beaulieu to kayak and explore. Amongst all the fun we had, we appreciated the little things that make you feel at home, such as Netflix and fast WiFi when needed. We also appreciated the self-check in as we were arriving late at night after a long work day. Thank you so much, we have told all our friends and hope they come to you soon! 🤍

The property was beautiful, peaceful and quaint - exactly what we were after. Bobbie was on hand and made checking in super easy and she was a lovely and friendly host. Would recommend to anyone in need for a peaceful stay with a short drive to nearby attractions such as Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door.

When we arrived we were more than happy. Spotlessly clean and a really fresh smell inside. Everything we needed was available with added extras of a bottle of wine/chocolates which was a nice touch. (Stanley our sausage dog even had special treats and settled in well on his first holiday). Will definitely be rebooking if we visit the area again as it was very central for walking into the village to visit the lovely pub gardens. Thank you Iain and Lydia for having such a nice place to visit. Will hopefully be back very soon.

Wow !This is the second time we have stayed at Paula and Simon house, the whole experience is fantastic. We would not stay anywhere else it is so quite and peaceful and all spotless. Off road private parking is excellent. Local shops are in walking distance. Very Very Highly recommend anybody to stay here. We will definitely be going back soon. Hosts are excellent nothing is to much trouble. It is a credit to them both. Many Thanks for letting us stay.

The place was comfortable and clean. Miki and Prince went out of their way to help me even offering me a ride to the train station and suggestions of things to see and do in the area. They really helped me settle into Bournemouth. Kind and friendly. They set up the treadmill for me which was a great was a great exercise alternative to walking in the cold weather.

Super friendly host and a lovely place. Had everything we could possibly need and felt right at home. Bed was super comfy and big and the blinds blocked out so much light so we had one of the best sleeps. Thank you very much, would definitely recommend

We stayed 2 nights, the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The welcome brownies were yummy and the milk in the fridge was a life saver as we forgot to bring any! Looking to stay next year as we go to Dogstival and it was an easy drive to Burley. Lymington is a lovely dog friendly town with great cafes and pubs. Milford on Sea is good for a long walk along the beach with a view of the Isle of Wight and the Needles

Absolutely stunning property in beautiful surroundings, the surrounding trees made us feel that we were in a forest not a town! Spotlessly clean, easy to find, felt like home, fantastic stay would defo recommend this little hidden to gem :)

The Lodge is a great place for a family stay in the New Forest. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, as well as a safe and convenient place to store bicycles. The grounds on which the lodge is located are really amazing, a huge area to enjoy including the lovely gardens, tennis courts, Bocce green, Koi ponds, paddocks with deer and a huge swing that kids will love. What makes this unique is that you feel like you kind of have these all to yourself! We enjoyed bird watching from our lounge every day as well. Phil and Jennifer were great hosts offering advice and suggestions on the local area. We were able to do our cycling routes right from the lodge which added to the convenience. There are also great restaurants within walking distance. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay to explore the New Forest from.

Peaceful, small but perfectly formed little hideaway. Pubs and cafes walking distance, welcoming host who is extremely responsive to any queries, spotless home from home, extra special touches like milk and OJ in the fridge, fancy coffee and proper kitchen if you wanted to cook. Bed was super comfortable king size, and such a quiet place to recharge. Appreciated the doggy treats and doggy extras and an incredible park opposite which was fantastic.

Great stay at Glynis and Ken's. We booked at the last minute as we needed extra space while visiting family who live near by, and were so lucky it was available. Clean, easy to find, and very well equipped. We'd definitely stay again. Thanks so much!
