This is a fantastic place! The house is just magical. Beautiful open design. The location is right on the beach with walkable restaurants and shops. Once you get here, you don’t have to drive the entire time you’re in Puerto Viejo.

Lovely place. The landscaping is extraordinary and it was so beautiful we spent several days just staying at the house. The hotel next-door was a bonus as it had a bar restaurant where we could order drinks and food and have them delivered to the beach. the beach was empty, but you could walk a mile and either direction to go to a busier beach with beach bars and restaurants. Had a bit of an issue with the pool at one point, but Utopía Caribe, the property manager, was very attentive and remedied the problem to our satisfaction. If you're going to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, rent this house.

Lovely place for 2 couples ! Spacious kitchen and living room area. Carlos was such a responsive host we felt supported constantly with any ask we had. The place is also walkable to the centre of town. The only thing to take into consideration is that parking is very tight getting in and out. The pool was sensational!

I can tell you that this place is like being in paradise!! So much diversity of flora and fauna, I highly recommend it The house is beautiful! Our group absolutely loved this place and it was the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at! There was more to the property than listed in the description and pictures. The main house has 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths. The shared half bath on the covered patio was super convenient. The pool house also has a full bath that we weren't aware of but was a nice surprise, and there are 3 additional outdoor showers. A 1-2 minute walk to Punta Uva beach and ~10 minute walk to some bars/restaurants as well. There is also a nice convenience store right across the street. The house itself is amazing with daily sightings of howler monkeys, sloths, and all sorts of birds. We also saw an anteater and Jesus Christ lizard right on the property! There's no need to leave unless you want to!

We had an amazing family stay at Saul’s Airbnb! The house was perfect for our group — spacious, clean, and in a beautiful location. We loved exploring the nearby beaches, swimming, hiking the local beach and trails, and spotting wildlife throughout our trip. The area is peaceful and full of natural beauty, which made it a truly memorable getaway. Saul was a wonderful host — responsive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, nature-filled escape!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa. The place was beautiful, and the private garden was a nice touch. The howler monkeys can be loud at night, but we were thankful for the fans which helped drown them out and kept us cool. The beach is a close walk, and there is a little (pricey) grocery store nearby, as well as many options for eating out. The area of Playa Chiquita is so beautiful, peaceful and friendly. We were also thankful for Lico and all his help.

Thanks for a wonderful stay! We were lucky to stay here for 2 weeks and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is breezy and cool after the sun goes down. The walk to the beach is less than a minute. We really liked that it was close enough to town to bike or walk to the restaurants and fun —- but also far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful. If I can make a recommendation please ask for Chef Priscilla’s contact info after you book. She is a talented chef who offered several different menus to choose from before coming to cook at the house. The most enjoyable and relaxing meals we ate in Puerto Viejo!! Also a shout out to Sarah and Rise Vacation Rentals— your kindness and hospitality is something we won’t forget. Thanks Karen and David— we can’t wait to return!

It’s a great secluded place to stay. The monkeys will absolutely wake you up so you get the Costa Rican jungle feeling yet super close to the beach. The host was very attentive and nice. Overall a great stay.

What a stunning location and home! Everything about Villa Toucan and Villa Macaw was thought out. The outdoor bathrooms (beautiful!), the open kitchen and dining are (outstanding), the lovely, helpful staff (priceless)! All in all we had an amazing holiday in your home. We do apologize for the shift and widening of your driveway, following our transport getting stuck!!! You’re not kidding when you say a 4x4 is needed in the rainy season! But we had a healthy and active group of 15 and we’re able to walk the driveway on many occasions! Superb location that allows you to stay IN THE JUNGLE, but so close to so many great beaches and activities!

What a beautiful home. My family and I wanted something within walking distance of a beach and the town center that had a full kitchen and pool. We got all of that plus an extra kitchen! My family likes to cook, having the extra fridge was priceless. A short walk leads to a relaxing beach and if I walked the opposite way in the morning I was overwhelmed by all the birds flitting about. Bonus: Each room has an air conditioner and bathroom so any bickering over room temperature and bathroom use was eliminated. In addition: I cant say enough about Sirlen and the house manager. The place is brand new and a couple of items needed attention. They handled every request immediately. They made recommendations for dining, shopping, and exploring. They set me up with the best tour guide we could have wanted, recommended an amazing restaurant for my mom's Birthday celebration and connected me with the manager....those connections made a huge difference for our whole trip.

Our stay at Casa Garza in Puerto Viejo was amazing. The villa is beautiful, with many awesome indoor/outdoor spaces to relax in and enjoy, including the outdoor kitchen and of course the pool. You can walk to the beach, a little shop and a couple other places for food or you can get an uber or tuk tuk into town. The property is magnificent with huge trees lining your entrance. It is private and you can see a lot of wildlife. The separate upstairs and downstairs areas even offer privacy between parties in the villa. Everything was perfect, we can’t wait to return. Pura vida ;)

This house is one of a kind: beautiful colonial architecture, all in wood, lovely garden and amazing terraces and balcony fully furnished with the best taste.lovely pool built in stone! Inside is also surprising. Antiques, art, design objects, old postcards from Cuba, beautiful lamps, an amazing porch and many more totally unexpected bedrooms and bathrooms. Very good WiFi as well as air conditioning and fans. We loved it!!! Jerome was very helpful and always in contact with us! He was so kind that he let us check out late afternoon which was really helpful as my daughter was working remote. I traveled with my husband and daughter and the house is really spacious, well located: close to puerto Viejo and to playa cocles I definitely recommend it specially if you value quality and beauty Hope to come back soon!!

Villa in Paradise!! We absolutely loved our stay. Perfect for groups of friends or family because everyone has the privacy of their own bungalow. The host is extremely responsive, friendly, and proactive. We would love to come back!

Wonderful place in an ideal location. We’ve been to Costa Rica many times but never before stayed on the Caribbean side. This house and location are such a perfect jumping off point for exploring the area. The house is beautiful and has a really well stocked kitchen—we cooked in for several meals and had everything we needed. The three bedrooms with private bathrooms (and plenty of hot water!) were great for our family of 4. The pool! It was so refreshingly cool. Loved it. The location was perfect for us—walkable to the beach and a very quick 5 minute drive to the cute town of puerto viejo, but also really private. There are other homes in the area but honestly you don’t see them because the trees and landscaping are so well integrated. It feels very very private. Finally, communication was excellent. Incredibly proactive hosts who reached out a week ahead of time to help us prepare for our trip. If we come back to this part of Costa Rica I see no reason to stay anywhere else.

Beautiful and peaceful property with lot of wildlife around it. We were able to see monkeys, toucans and many birds during the morning. The swimming pool was amazing, beds are very comfortable, kitchen has all that is needed and washer/dryer was a plus. Highly recommend to stay here.

This is our third stay here in three years and it is something we always look forward to. We can't wait to come back! The surroundings are incredible, and we love the layout of the house, which works so well for us. We come to Costa Rica for the wildlife, and we certainly get that when we stay here! We wake with the howlers and fall asleep to the sounds of the nocturnal creatures. For people wanting a private place to observe nature, this place will not disappoint: from the variety of birds, the howlers and capuchins, to the geckos that hunt at night.
