Solar-powered MatopHouse is a very carefully considered sanctuary. It's enveloped by a garden frequented by birds, hares, a mongoose and duikers, and has views of the distant Karkloof hills. The house is full of character (and books), and is a tranquil space in which to read, write, cook, create – and to simply "be". Set on a quiet eco-estate on the fringe of Howick, it is conveniently close to the Ambers, the Karkloof trails, the Midlands Meander, Midmar Dam, and numerous cafes and attractions.

Beautiful Breeze Cottage sits among the stunning hills of the Dargle Valley. It overlooks 3 tranquil dams, rolling pastures and an indigenous forest. There are cattle and horses in the fields, abundant bird life to enjoy and peacefulness to breath in. It's the perfect place to recharge while escaping the pressures of city life and with the Midlands Meander on our doorstep you can be as busy or as quiet as you choose. The farm is now fully off Eskom power so load shedding is a distant memory.

Forest Falls Treehouse

Enjoy the serenity of nature on the edge of the Umgeni Valley. Conveniently placed less than 10 minutes away from Hilton Village. This is no normal cottage. Our Forest Falls Treehouse is built at the confluence of two streams. Perched amongst trees, birds are constant visitors while shy nyala often make an appearance. This self-catering cottage can be reached after a short walk in an indigenous forest down steep stairs built into a cliff face. Meals can be purchased through prior arrangements.

We are just 2km from some of the best MTB and running trails in the country, and perfectly located for the abundance of great restaurants, coffee shops and activities in the area for both adults and children. An ideal spot to retreat with family and friends, or get active.

Located at the Hilton Bush Lodge, bordering the famous Hilton College, Caracal Lodge sits among trees opening to spectacular views of the Rietspruit and Umngeni valleys. Listen closely and you will hear the rush of the Riets Waterfall, even better, take a walk through the bush and enjoy the falls first hand! The Hayloft is a self catering cottage set in the spectacular village of central Hilton. It is located close to upmarket schools, restaurants,shopping centres, hospitals, many major sporting events and The Midlands Meander. Just 10 minutes drive to Pietermaritzburg and an hour and a half to King Shaka Airport. We also have the Crofters Loft, The Shepherds Loft and The Farriers. We are on a solar system so load shedding does not affect us.
