We are a Portuguese family that knows all the islands of the Azores, and completed in August 2018 this retreat, to get away from our busy lives in London. Until the day comes that we can enjoy it full time, we have decided to share the amazing space we have created with others that love the nature, mountain and sea that is always surrounding us. The house is within Prainha, the most beautiful parish of Pico Island, and within close proximity to the beach, restaurants, grocery store and bakery.

Janela do Porto - the Atlantic Ocean inside the house

A window facing the sea and back on the slopes of the north coast of Pico Island. Sitting in the armchair, I set my gaze on São Jorge lying in the distance. At the foot of the house, the sea ripples like a purring cat. I close my eyes and smile, I found paradise... Old fishing cellar completely rebuilt in the first row facing the sea. The view is incredible, starting with the morning sunrise. It accommodates up to 6 people (4 people in beds and 2 on a sofa bed). Space with 4 environments.

Located minutes from downtown Madalena, “Casa da Barca” is a charming space granting guests picturesque views of the ocean and island of Faial from one side, and iconic Pico Mountain on the other. Casa Baleia Laranja Ocean-Front

Grandfather Francisco's House

Once a traditional wine cellar, built by Francisco Paulo in 1980, this villa served for many years as a production site and warehouse for the Paulo family's wine. The wine cellar has been remodeled and expanded, but it maintains the traditional elevations and the decoration and details of the times when it was used as a wine cellar. Next to the bathing area, it has a view that invites long nights of conversation.

Ocean view in UNESCO Heritage Site

Solar-powered wine house located in the Landscape of Pico Island Vineyard Culture - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Just a couple of minutes driving from Madalena village, this traditional and remodeled wine house has its own vineyard on the backyard. You will find this holiday home at Porto Calhau - only a 10 minutes drive from Madalena. There is one big bedroom for 5 people ( 1 double bed, and a bunk bed for 3 people), one living room with a kitchenette, bathroom with a shower and a toilette.
