“Katy and Tim were perfect hosts. Charming and helpful in every way. We very much enjoyed our stay at their exquisite home. The bedroom was beautiful, small kitchen extremely useful and the shower room was luxurious. If the weather had been more conducive we could have eaten meals outside at a delightful garden table. The property is within walking distance (through fields and woods) of a beautiful stately home and convenient for a visit to Cambridge.. There is a good, friendly pub in the village serving good beer and tasty food. We were so pleased to find such a wonderful airbnb property. Thank you.”

“Quiet residence in the middle of the countryside quite near Cambridge. The hosts, Claire and Lee are a very welcoming couple. The decor is aesthetically pleasing, lovely pastel colours with special added touches that reflect love: hearts, flowers, stones, etc. Just to our taste! Breakfast was outstanding equivalent to a 5 * hotel, car parking, free wifi, etc, everything a traveller needs. And fantastic value for the money! We’d love to return. Thank you so much!”
The property is located in the idyllic village of Barrington, eight miles from the historic University City of Cambridge. The village has the longest village green in the country and a historic Norman church, a regular wedding venue in the summer months. Ideally located to take advantage of Cambridge, Newmarket, The Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Grantchester, the National Trust stately home at Wimpole and easy access to London, with regular fast trains to London Kings Cross.
“The Potting Shed is a delightful place to stay! The rooms are cosy and characterful - with beams showing - while also offering all mod cons (even a Nespresso machine in the well presented kitchen area). It's right on the edge of the beautiful village of Barrington (with the longest village green in England and a 16th century pub serving great food), a quick drive or train journey from Cambridge. As it's tucked away down a farm track it feels slightly more remote than it really is. The views onto fields and wildlife often emerging along the treeline next to the track also add to the sense of calm and serenity - we saw loads of pheasants as well as a kestrel and a muntjac! We didn't meet the host, but she was very helpful guiding us in over the phone and extremely responsive to any questions we had. All the essentials were all provided, such as bread, milk, butter, jam, porridge, tea, coffee, etc. but if you need anything else the village shop is close enough to walk to. We also ordered a takeaway delivery through Just Eat - another sign that you're not as remote as you might think! We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area!”
