Cabin vacation rentals in Obertauern

Very nice house with sauna and jacuzzi tub tub. There is a large terrace with a magnificent view over the mountains. Parking is not a problem. The kitchen could use a little more utensils, but they will be retrofitted soon. Conclusion: the house is wonderful place for a quiet holiday to hike and relax.

An absolutely fantastic stay in the mountains! The alpine hut in the Lesachtal exceeded all our expectations – surrounded by beautiful nature, with hiking trails right outside the door and numerous birds of prey, alpine jackdaws, alpine swifts and even vultures that we could observe. The cottage itself is authentic, cozy and very clean – equipped with everything you need on an alpine pasture: gas kitchen, wood stove and a very special flair. The jacuzzi at 1600 m altitude was a unique experience! Barbecuing with a view of the mountains was also unforgettable. Friendly cows grazed in the area and the fresh mountain spring water right at the house rounded off the natural experience. Madlyn was very friendly and explained everything we needed to know for our stay. We felt completely comfortable and would be happy to come back. A clear recommendation for those seeking peace, nature and originality!

Super nice contact, answers came very quickly and in detail. Very cozy house, looks original better and bigger than in the photos. Everything clean and beautiful clock yet modern. I only heated and cooked with wood, that was awesome. Super great area where you can experience great tours (we in winter with lots of snow). We made beautiful snowshoe tours and everything in the immediate vicinity. Very nice neighbors who are there to help you, where we were also invited to Christmas Eve, such a thing is not self-evident. Thank you for these wonderful quiet beautiful days in the house. The house and walking is highly recommended.

The host was great, he was very polite and was ready to adapt to our needs. The house was very cozy and beautiful. The location is great if you are planing to travel by car otherwise it is quite remote.

We had a very nice time at the cabin. The two children enjoyed the animals & the many play opportunities on the outdoor area. It was all very clean and well maintained and even more beautiful than in the pictures. Thanks to the sauna and hot tub, we were able to relax well and the view was fantastic on all sides!

Actually, you could describe the accommodation as 2-3 residential units, because the bedrooms were spread over 3 levels. So you also enjoy a lot of privacy in group. Everything was very clean, kitchen well equipped. The only point that would be in need of improvement is a shower next to the sauna. For this you had to go back into the house and either go up or down a floor. But as I said, it is only a suggestion. Thanks for everything.

We were there with a group and had a great time. The cabin absolutely met our needs. Everything you need is available. The view is outstanding And the hot tub was our absolute highlight. I'd love to come back.

From the communication before arrival, check-in and help during the stay, everything was great! The place was very clean and as described. Fantastic location with beautiful views of the mountains. You have to know that it is a bit remote and that you are basically dependent on a car. Good restaurants are quickly reached, and leisure activities such as skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and winter hiking trails are sufficiently available. We were six adults, a toddler and a dog in the house and garden and had more than enough space. Absolute recommendation for a quiet holiday in a very nice and clean accommodation - we will come back :)

This was a great place to stay with our rental car. It was such a peaceful location and made exploring the surrounding area with a car so easy. Walking into the village of Hallstatt only took 10 minutes. We loved our stay here!

We had a wonderful stay at Romana's Hütte in Grundlsee! The cabin was spotless, beautifully maintained, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Nestled in peaceful and stunning natural surroundings, it was the perfect escape. The area itself is magnificent—ideal for anyone looking to relax or explore nature. Romana, the host, was kind and attentive, making sure everything was perfect throughout our stay. We definitely recommend this place and would love to come back again!

Had 2 great weeks. Lots of outings to do in the area (all within an hour's drive from the cottage) David's recommendation (walking to the mountain lake is well worth it!) and then it is wonderful to 'come home' to the cottage after an active day. The cottage is very quiet, the neighbors are friendly and there is plenty of space! Everything is available (kitchenware, television, games etc) Partly because of David's hospitality, we soon felt comfortable in the cottage. A plus was definitely the sauna. Definitely worth going here!

The stay in the witch's cottage was great. We felt completely comfortable. Ute and her family were super warm and gave us many tips. For children, it is a dream: trampoline, swing, animals, etc. Great all around! We were thrilled and will be back for sure!

We were looking for a cozy mountain hut and found exactly that: a wonderful cottage with plenty of space, loving furnishings and great beds. The kitchen equipment also leaves nothing to be desired! The location and views are literally outstanding. It couldn't get any better!

We were there with our 2 children and it was just gigantic. Huge, everything super clean and well equipped. Everything was super explained and easy. The sauna was great! The location, the view, the terrace and the fireplace - everything is fantastic! We will be back :)

Despite the initial difficulties we had a wonderful stay. Riff is a generous host, and easy to communicate with, problems were promptly addressed and quickly solved. The place itself is magical, the emptiness of the village that others found spooky actually was uplifting for us, and the quietness and the beauty of the mountains offered perfect immersion and winding down. The house is lovely and cosy, the upper store is a child’s dream - my son enjoyed it immensely. We are regulars to the area, know the neighboring ski-resort very well and beside skiing we enjoyed the local cuisine very much, or sometimes just grabbed a pizza from the village down in the valley. Tanja and her in-laws, who manage the cottage, are very friendly and helpful. The location is of course fantastic and the cottage very nice. It should be noted that the electricity is provided by generator and is only available at a very reduced rate (light) between 9 PM and 6 AM. The heating is a furnace heater, which is good to know at this altitude and the temperatures there. Communication was good. The journey can be a little intimidating if you are new to the mountains - the navigation system says 100 km/h on mountain roads and thus calculates the travel time earlier. But you're more likely to be traveling at 30-50 km/h. It's good to find your way

For any questions in advance of our vacation, I always got quick and helpful answers from the landlord . The accommodation is as described. We were also able to use the fully equipped kitchen (electrical appliances,dishes,...)for breakfast (the bakery is less than 10 minutes away by bike). Only one should be aware that the upper floor of the house heats up on sunny days due to the beautiful large glass areas (cooling is only possible in the evening hours. The highlight was certainly the "private bathing area" in the back of the garden. The beach, Minimundus,stadium and the center of Klagenfurt (via the Lend Canal)are easily accessible by bike. We could very well imagine vacationing in this beautiful accommodation again !

I can fully recommend the place. I was looking for some peace and you definitely have it here - incl. Splashing of a stream and a few animals living on the farm. The accommodation is located in the courtyard of the hosts and it has everything you need or could need (fully equipped kitchen, even spices are there, for example, the bathroom with washing machine and bathtub). Otherwise, it is worth mentioning that the bed is really very cozy - I rarely sleep as well as at home, but that was the case here. Everything was very well maintained and clean. I lacked nothing, the hosts are always available if you need anything or have any questions. And even if the accommodation is on the same property as the host, you are "on your own."

The location is great for skiing - super close to the gondola. Catia is sweet and we just agreed. The house is in line with the pictures - on 3 levels. Everything was clean when we came. The kitchen is fully functional and equipped. There were plenty of dishes, even condiments. The only minus is that the couch and beds are really old and run down.

We have already stayed with Matthias for the 6th time and have enjoyed it very much this year - despite bad weather - as always. If you love the peace and seclusion but also the simple, original life, this is the place to be. Matthias is a far above-average host and person and it is always pleasant to see him and talk to him. We will be back!
